Yeah... Biden is pretty dumb. People are finally recognizing this.

Majority now believe that Joe Biden is kind of an idiot: Poll
President Joe Biden’s presidency is not going as smoothly as he probably hoped it would. Only 43% of respondents in a survey conducted between Sept. 13-19 believe the phrase “mentally sharp” describes Biden “well." This represents an 11-point drop from March , when Pew found 54% of respondents said “mentally sharp” was a fitting descriptor for the president.
Put more simply, the longer the president is in office, the dumber people think he is. And it’s likely not because of any single issue. The White House is the major leagues, as a former vice president, of all people, ought to know. His every move and action is now under scrutiny. He has to think on his feet and respond in real-time to real-life crises. The public can see now how Biden comports himself as the commander in chief. It’s not just a theoretical game anymore. He can’t just promise to do better than the last guy. He is actually expected to deliver and to deliver competently and efficiently.
Let's be clear. Mentally sharp is the bare minimum for someone who is supposedly the leader of the free world. People used to question the intelligence of George W Bush because he sometimes made up his own words, but he was a man who graduated from both Yale and Harvard and ended up with an Masters in Business. He also made it to the epitome of the military, becoming a military fighter pilot (a program which only takes the best of the best). He owned a baseball team, was a two time Governor of Texas and won two terms as President. Joe Biden was a below average student who graduated from a non-prestigious college ranking in the bottom 10 in his class. He has been considered a dull bulb as a Senator and his former boss Barack Obama considered him a fuck up. He backed into the White House by hiding in his basement.

He is a dummy. Now people are starting to notice. The worst part about it is that his political team is basically playing defense here. The way to show people you are not an idiot is by doing things that make you look smart. But in Biden's case, his handlers are making sure he doesn't take questions, that he isn't put on the spot, and that he only read from a teleprompter. This will only reinforce the idea that he is lacking in intellectual capabilities. Likely because he is lacking in intellectual capabilities.

What happens now will be a matter of piling on. Once you think someone is stupid, that is a hard thing to overcome. Yet, with Biden he continues to play dumb. For instance, I suspect that his handlers believe he would look tough by accusing border patrol agents of strapping Haitian refugees. But most people know that didn't actually happen. So Biden looks either uninformed or that he was gaslighted by a media providing a false narrative. Or if he does understand that there was no whipping, flogging, or strapping going on, and wants to push a false narrative he looks stupider yet.

There may be no turning of this around. As much as some would like to believe that the aging athlete can make a comeback, sometimes once the decline takes place, there is nothing but more decline. In the case of Biden, the same mentality might be true for both his actual cognitive abilities and the public's opinion of his cognitive abilities. There may not be anything Biden is capable of doing to make himself look smarter.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll, sponsored by The ANTIFA by Jack Posobiec, for Monday shows that 40% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Biden’s job performance. Fifty-eight percent (58%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 21% who Strongly Approve of the job Biden is doing and 50% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -29.

Biden Can Regain His Popularity
September 27, 2021 at 7:40 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 45 Comments

Jonathan Bernstein:
“Whatever some pundits are speculating, President Joe Biden may rebound from his current slumping approval ratings. Biden is currently at around 46% approval.

The last four presidents to win re-election all hit lower marks later in their first terms:
Barack Obama was at 42% well into his second year;
George W. Bush fell to 44% halfway through his fourth year;
Bill Clinton was at 42% near the end of his second year;
and Ronald Reagan reached 35% at the beginning of his third year.

“When a president is doing badly, his weaknesses are readily apparent and ambiguous traits get interpreted as negative ones. In early 1983, pundits focused on Reagan’s factual errors and lack of command of policy details. Those flaws were no less real when things went better in the next two years. What appeared in 1984 and 1985 as resolve and toughness was, in 1982 and 1983, stubbornness and refusal to change when things were going badly.”

Biden’s Reengineering-America Moment
September 27, 2021 at 7:33 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 18 Comments

“The Senate’s bipartisan $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill and President Biden’s $3.5 trillion spending package could live or die this week — and take Democrats’ fortunes with them. But all the minute-by-minute political drama obscures how much America could change if even a fraction of it passes,” Axios reports.

“Anything short of total failure could have a transformative impact on day-to-day life — from how we move around to our access to the internet, paid family leave and child care, health care and college.”

People like Victor David Hanson are very intelligent but they have the example of what I have been saying since he rolled down the escalator. He thinks that the United States armed militias are traitors .

Yet, Milley did not act in isolation. Where did this low-bar Pentagon coup talk originate? And who are those responsible for creating a culture in which unelected current and retired military officers, sworn to uphold the constitutional order and the law of civilian control of the military, believe that they can arbitrarily declare an elected president either incompetent or criminal—and thus subject to their own renegade sort of freelancing justice?

As a footnote, remember that after little more than a week of the Trump presidency, Rosa Brooks, an Obama-era Pentagon appointee, published in Foreign Policy various ways to remove the newly inaugurated president. Among those mentioned was a military coup, in which top officers were to collude to obstruct a presidential order, on the basis of their own perceptions of a lack of presidential rectitude or competence.

We note additionally that over a dozen high-ranking retired generals and admirals have serially violated the uniform code of military justice in demonizing publicly their commander in chief with the worst sort of smears and slanders. And they have done so with complete exemption and in mockery of the very code they have sworn to abide.

He goes over and over again saying the the institutions are not American citizens who care about the country they put their lives at risk.

Jonathan P. Baird: Time to prosecute Donald Trump

By JONATHAN P. BAIRD

For the Monitor

Published: 9/27/2021 7:00:12 AM

Former President Donald Trump organized a coup to overthrow democracy in America. Although he was not ultimately successful, Trump tried to steal the last presidential election to seize power for himself. In the process, he turned a formerly conservative party into a party of extremists. The Republican Party now poses a fascist threat to democracy.

Trump’s actions during his presidential term crossed many legal and ethical lines. In addressing the question of his potential prosecution, it’s challenging to limit the inquiry about his crimes. I choose to narrow it down to Trump’s actions in the period of time after his electoral defeat and through January 6, 2021.

Continue watchingTension these days is eveywhere; just ask Pembrokeafter the ad

Arguably, refusing to support a peaceful transition of power after losing the election and organizing an insurrection to topple democracy are his worst crimes.

While there is a dispute about whether a sitting president can be indicted on criminal charges, there is broad agreement that there is no federal prohibition on charging a former president who committed crimes while in office.

The biggest obstacle to prosecution is the seeming lack of will to do it. No previous president has ever been indicted. Prosecutors would, no doubt, wonder about both the obstacles in making a case as well as their chances for securing a conviction.

Trump is slippery. This is someone who has been a party in 3,500 lawsuits in federal and state court. In his book Plaintiff in Chief, James D. Zirin writes, “Trump’s litigation history shows him more often suing than sued. It was how he engaged with people. He would sue almost anyone for anything. He never collected a big judgment, but he wasn’t in it for the money. Trump enjoyed the possession of money and the things that money could buy. But more than money, his goal was the possession of supreme power, the joy of domination over those who crossed his path.”

Zirin goes on to say that Trump has rarely won in court. Typically, Trump settles or, if he was the plaintiff, he drops the case. In his business career before the presidency, Trump was charged with race and sex discrimination, sexual harassment, fraud, breach of trust, money laundering and defamation. Between 1991-2009, his hotel and casino businesses filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy four times.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

At the start of his presidency, he paid $25 million to settle the Trump University case where he swindled thousands of students. He also paid $2 million for misusing his charitable foundation.

Lawsuits are a sport for Trump. They have often been more about getting headlines for himself than actually winning. Even when Trump loses, he will say he won. Sound familiar?

There is deep cynicism about the legal system protecting rich people, including sleazy rich people. Money talks. Still, I would suggest that Trump’s track record proves he should not be considered above the law. In the past, he has lost in court and he has had to pay or negotiate very expensive settlements.

Many seem to think Trump is some kind of Teflon Superman as a litigant. History shows he is not. That is not to say he will not use scorched earth tactics that most reasonable lawyers and judges despise. That is his game. He will automatically label any investigation of his criminal activity a “witch hunt.”

It is legal error to think that a powerful case cannot be made against Trump for his actions in the last period of his presidency after the November 2020 election. A conviction could be obtained on multiple charges. Inciting an insurrection to prevent Congress and Vice-President Pence from counting electoral votes cannot possibly be kosher.

Laurence Tribe, the Harvard Law professor and constitutional law expert, has argued that Trump engaged in conspiracy to commit sedition, an extreme abuse of power. Trump was in cahoots with the Proud Boys, the Oath Keepers and others to prevent Congress and Vice President Pence from certifying an election winner.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Trump aided and abetted assault and battery against U.S. Capitol police officers. When he had the opportunity to call off attackers, he refused. There is a strong argument that his speech alone on January 6 incited a riot. Back on December 19, he had tweeted that people should come to Washington D.C. on January 6. He said it would be “wild.”

Support the Concord Monitor. Subscribe Today

The Trump 2020 campaign, along with its fundraising committees, made more than $3.5 million in direct payments to people and firms involved in the Washington D.C. protest on January 6. After taking the stage at noon on January 6, Trump spoke for an hour and fifteen minutes. Among other things, he said:

“They rigged it like they’ve never rigged an election before.”

“When you catch somebody in a fraud, you’re allowed to go by very different rules.”

“And we fight. We fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”

“And we’re going to the capitol…But we’re going to try and give our Republicans, the weak ones because the strong ones don’t need any of our help. We’re going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness they need to take back our country.”

During his speech, the crowd started chanting “fight like hell” and “fight for Trump.” When Trump finished, the chants changed to “storm the capitol,” “invade the Capitol building” and “take the Capitol right now.”

While Trump is an expert at walking the line and creating plausible deniability, it is fair to say that many in the mob stormed the Capitol at his direction. A number of the insurrectionists have said as much in defense of their own cases.

No case that might be brought is ironclad. There are two cases that have been brought by U.S. Capitol police officers. There are also the lawsuits filed by Congressmen Eric Swalwell and Bennie Thompson, citing violation of the Ku Klux Klan Act.

I would also be remiss if I did not mention Trump’s election interference. Both his actions in Georgia pressing their Secretary of State to “find” votes and his pressure on acting attorney general to declare the election “corrupt” are actionable.

The Department of Justice could prosecute Trump. Part of saving democracy is sending a clear message that breaking the law in the Oval Office will be punished. Congress's failure to follow through on the impeachments and remove Trump did not send the necessary message.

Not to prosecute sends a different message, that an out-of-control president faces no consequences. It almost guarantees future repetition of the type of misconduct that Trump exemplified.

Here is the funny thing Roger.

A while back I asked you come up with something tangible in action that Trump could have done differently with Covid. I pointed out FACTUALLY that America was the first to set up a task force to deal with it. We were the first to restrict travel, the first country (outside of China) to restrict movement within the country, we manufactured medical equipment, moved things around the country, created temporary hospitals, moved military ships, and not a single person in the United State died due to lack of requested medical attention.

Plus we developed multiple vaccines before anyone else.

Your only "tangible" criticism (that did not involve things from Bob Woodward's silly book - was that he should have started "warp speed" back before we had a single casualty (and long before we had the medical ability to test the virus and create a vaccine).

So what did you want me to "criticize" that does not start out with "Bob Woodward said" and end with some generic non-tangible concept of what you "thought" Trump was thinking.

Just a tangible concept of what government policies could have been done differently... and you draw a blank.

We can make a list a mile long of how Biden fucked up in Afghanistan and specifically what he could have done differently. You got "Bob Woodward says".

Well, this is interesting.

According to a new report in the New York Times, one of the Proud Boys who marched on the Capitol on January 6 was an FBI informant who was texting real-time updates to his handler.

https://twitchy.com/brettt-3136/2021/09/25/new-york-times-among-the-proud-boys-who-marched-on-the-capitol-on-january-6-was-an-fbi-informant/

The use of informants always presents law enforcement officials with difficult judgments about the credibility and completeness of the information they provide. In this case, the records obtained by The Times do not directly address whether the informant was in a good position to know about plans developed for Jan. 6 by the leadership of the Proud Boys, why he was cooperating, whether he could have missed indications of a plot or whether he could have deliberately misled the government.

But the records, and information from two people familiar with the matter, suggest that federal law enforcement had a far greater visibility into the assault on the Capitol, even as it was taking place, than was previously known.

But just this weekend you were insisting that no other President in the history of the Country could have done better than Biden did with his botched retreat and surrender of Afghanistan.

If Biden had just followed the Afghanistan withdrawal framework established by Trump we would be better off by several orders of magnitude.

Trump would have kept Bagram AFB. Biden and Milley pissed it away.

Trump would've extracted EVERY American and Afghan ally. Over 1000 still languish there basically waiting to be decapitated.

Trump would've shipped home all armament worth retrieving, and rendered the rest useless by detonating it. Biden gifted all $85 BILLION worth of weaponry to the Taliban.

How do we know all this to be true?

Trump dropped a MOAB on those fucking ragheads:

A US military strike with a weapon known as the "mother of all bombs", or MOAB, killed 36 Islamic State (IS) group militants and destroyed their base, the Afghan defence ministry says.

The most powerful non-nuclear bomb ever used by the US in combat was dropped on IS tunnels in Nangarhar province.

No civilians were affected by the explosion, the ministry said.

The US military said the bomb was used purely on tactical grounds, "the right weapon against the right target".

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-39598046

IOW's the Taliban KNEW that Trump was serious and was not to be fucked with. And they also knew that they had nothing at all to fear from Biden.

And I'm supposed to fear a "constitutional crises of Trump proportions" with this shit going on -

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas admitted Sunday that the vast majority of Haitian migrants who crossed the southern U.S. border in recent weeks have already been released into the United States, and it is possible that more will follow them.

So far, approximately 12,400 of the people are having their cases heard by immigration judges, while another 5,000 are being processed by the Department of Homeland Security. Currently, only 3,000 are in detention.

"Approximately, I think it's about 10,000 or so, 12,000," Mayorkas told "Fox News Sunday" when asked how many have already been released. He then acknowledged that this number could very well go up as the 5,000 other cases are processed.

"It could be even higher. The number that are returned could be even higher. What we do is we follow the law as Congress has passed it," Mayorkas said.

The secretary said the administration "will make determinations whether they will be returned to Haiti based on our public health and public interest authorities."

Mayorkas said those who are released have conditions placed on them, "are monitored by us," and authorities "ensure their appearance in court as the law requires."

After the Biden regime scapegoated Border Patrol agents for doing their job protecting the Texas border last week, Mexican drug cartels have reportedly ordered their smugglers to provoke more confrontations with agents so Democrats and their allies in the media will misconstrue their actions as excessive force, and more agents are “forced off the line.”

Last week, the entire Democrat-media complex falsely accused Border Patrol agents of whipping Haitian illegal immigrants who were attempting to cross the Rio Grande River into Del Rio, Texas.

These claims were quickly debunked by Border Patrol officials and the photographer who took the pictures. The agents on horseback were using long reins to control their horses, twirling them to move their horses forward, not to whip migrants.

...

FOX News correspondent Lara Logan reported on Twitter Monday that according to law enforcement sources in the Rio Grand Valley, two vicious drug trafficking syndicates—the Gulf Cartel and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG)—have determined that U.S. Border Patrol agents are “unprotected under the Biden administration.”

“Agents advised there will be no support from Chief Ortiz at the top, they are on their own & to expect things to get much worse,” Logan tweeted. Raul L. Ortiz became the 25th Chief of the United States Border Patrol on August 15, 2021.

So what had President Xi said yesterday? “Oh, we were talking mostly about the virus,” Trump said. Why? I wondered. “Mostly?” “And I think he’s going to have it in good shape,” Trump said, “but you know, it’s a very tricky situation.” What made it “tricky”? “It goes through air,” Trump said. “That’s always tougher than the touch. You don’t have to touch things. Right? But the air, you just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed. And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flus.”

Trump has spent his entire career trying to delegitimize the press and now delegitimize the government.

What do we do when half the country doesn't believe our elections are legitimate? That's how you break down a democracy.

The real clearted truth.

Not the fake version of Thecoldheartedtruth.

Well let's see Roger...

Perhaps you find the root cause of this distrust and fix those issues?

But, you see... that requires that you actually change things and write new laws that work to prevent (not encourage) fraud.

You don't simply get to say "there is no fraud" like an idiot and expect people to just fall in line. You certainly do not write more laws (like they did in California) that makes cheating even more possible.

Hint: Censoring people on social media makes people more distrustful. The lock step nature of our media demanding there was no fraud makes people more distrustful. You don't just get to sweep it under the rug.

But we agree.

When half the country (or more) doesn't trust that we hold fair elections then something has to be done. Something that works like new laws (not censoring and cancelling people).
