That all changed in 2008 with the stroke of a pen.”

NEW YORK TIMES REPORTS: Virginia Race Is Test for Both Parties
“Terry McAuliffe’s strategy of relentlessly linking his Republican rival, Glenn Youngkin, to Donald Trump represents the best test yet of how much of a drag the former president still exerts on his party in blue and purple states. At the same time, Mr. Youngkin’s fancy footwork regarding Mr. Trump — avoiding his embrace without alienating him or his base — and his attacks on Mr. McAuliffe over the role of parents in schools will indicate if GOP candidates can sidestep Trumpism by drawing attention to what they argue is Democratic extremism on issues of race and gender.
“Far from such old standbys of statewide races as property taxes and teacher pay, the issues in Virginia reflect the country’s canyonlike polarization and what each party portrays as the dire threat posed by the other.”
DAN BALZ SAYS: Democrats Remain Nervous “On this final weekend, many Democrats remain nervous. The most positive are at best cautiously optimistic. Their hope is that a state that has been trending Democratic for a decade will provide enough underlying momentum for McAuliffe to fend off Youngkin’s challenge.”

Fun (and undeniable) fact: we are exponentially LESS FREE under Biden than we were under Trump by a long shot.
WASHINGTON — A majority of Americans now disapprove of President Joe Biden's job performance, while half give him low marks for competence and uniting the country, according to results from the latest national NBC News poll.
What's more, the survey finds that 7 in 10 adults, including almost half of Democrats, believe the nation is headed in the wrong direction, as well as nearly 60 percent who view Biden's stewardship of the economy negatively just nine months into his presidency.
One year before next year's midterm elections and less than a week before Virginia's closely watched race for governor, Biden's lower standing has also taken a toll on his party: Democrats trail Republicans on which party better handles the economy, inflation and immigration, while they’ve lost ground on issues like education and the coronavirus.
“Democrats face a country whose opinion of President Biden has turned sharply to the negative since April,” said Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, who conducted the survey with Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies.
“The promise of the Biden presidency — knowledge, competence and stability in tough times — have all been called into question,” Horwitt continued.
“What people voted for was stability and calm," added fellow Democratic pollster Peter Hart. "And what they got was instability and chaos.”
In the poll, 42 percent of adults say they approve of Biden’s overall job as president — a decline of 7 points since August, with much of the attrition coming from key parts of the Democratic base.
That’s compared to 54 percent who say they disapprove of the president’s job, which is up 6 points since August.
Using Gallup’s historical data, Biden’s approval rating in this poll (42 percent) is lower than any other modern first-year president’s at a similar point in time, with the key exception of Donald Trump (whose approval averaged 37 percent in fall 2017).
Among a narrower set of registered voters, Biden’s job rating stands at 45 percent who approve, 52 percent who disapprove — a drop from 50 percent who approve, 48 percent who disapprove from two months ago.
Even if they get the two bill passed next week, the dynamics of this generation we can't know what happens even if it happens.
We are watching the Republican Party slowly morph from a party of Kinzingers to a party of Walkers, and it’s being done with the imprimatur of “serious” party elders who are, ostensibly, tasked with vetting, recruiting, and backing the most qualified and electable public servants.
Republicans Lean Into New Role as Trump’s Willing Hostages
‘BITTER, HORRIBLE HUMANS’ like Ch
While this was going on, The Wall Street Journal gave space this week to Donald Trump, himself, to argue on their pages that “actually the election was rigged.”
As I have noted in other recent posts, much of the recent ‘news’ about the insurrection has not been terribly new. It’s repackaged versions of things we knew or additional evidence and detail. This story published last night in the Post is one of the biggest revelations I’ve seen to date. John Eastman is the Federalist Society right wing law professor who wrote up the legal gloss for the President’s coup plot. It created the connective tissue joining the coup plot within the government with the paramilitary violence that broke out on Capitol Hill on January 6th.
The Post has emails – presumably emerging out of the committee investigation – of what happened during the insurrection. As the insurrectionists were storming the Capitol and Pence was holed up in a secure location as they hunted for him and members of Congress, Eastman emailed Pence and his top aide saying that the insurrection was Pence’s fault for not going through with the coup plot. With the President’s supporters ransacking the Capitol Eastman demanded Pence shift course and do the right thing.
These exchanges capture something we suspect and know in some way. But here we’re getting the details, the documentary evidence. Eastman didn’t recoil when the President’s rally escalated to violence. He clearly saw the inside coup plot and the insurrectionists on the street as part of the same effort. This isn’t surprising to most of us. The insurrectionists were laying siege to Pence in the Capitol because Pence wasn’t going along with the plan. And the answer was to go along with the plan. Eastman recognized the insurrection as the paramilitary wing of the coup plot he was part of and as the Capitol was under siege used it as a cudgel to force Pence’s hand.
Again, this won’t come to a shock to many of us. But here we’re getting the receipts. At least the first of them. To date the actions of Eastman, the President, his various coconspirators – during the hours of the assault on the Capitol – have largely been a black box even as we’ve learned more and more granular detail of the ransacking of the Capitol itself. We’ve had brief glimpses in reported accounts. There was the notorious phone call between Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Trump in which McCarthy demanded Trump call off his insurrectionists. Trump notoriously responded, “Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are.”
In real time, Trump’s message was the same as Eastman’s. You brought it on yourself and they’re my guys. The way to lift the siege is to do the right thing and support the coup. They both recognized the insurrectionists as their foot soldiers and expressed as much in real time to the members of Congress under siege. And of course they did since they were their foot soldiers.
It’s hardly surprising that both Trump and Eastman were cheering on the assault on the Capitol in real time or seeing it in the same terms. They were part of the same war room. They were leading it. Directly or indirectly McCarthy was the source of those quotes from the conversation with the President. It was reportedly anger and expletive filled. Of course he later fell in line. Much of the resistance to the investigation was his effort not to be placed under oath to reveal what happened on that day and the fact that he resisted it.
These are only two glimpses of the real story of January 6th. The Committee seems serious about getting the whole story.
These are only two glimpses of the real story of January 6th. The Committee seems serious about getting the whole story.
The only thing the committee is serious about is writing their own "story" because they know liberals are stupid and gullible.
Let me give you an example relative to Jan 6th.
Reality is that there was tens of thousands of people (60K was the estimated number) who attended an entirely peaceful rally. There is nothing illegal or wrong about holding a political rally. In fact, holding political rallies are 100% American. They are what the first amendment of the constitution is all about.
Of those 60,000 legal and patriotic attendees of a perfectly legal first amendment protected rally... about 500 were arrested for actions at the Capitol building, with the vast majority being charged with misdemeanor trespassing charged.
So again.... 60,000 people attended a perfect legal constitutionally protected rally. over 99% of them did nothing illegal.
That rally was planned by the Trump team and some other Republicans. Those plans for that perfectly legal and constitutionally protected politically rally are being smeared dishonestly by Democrats as criminal behavior.
They are literally not suggesting that any of these people promoted the violence, but that by promoting the perfectly legal constitutionally protected political rally where 99% of the people behaved perfectly legal and engaged in constitutionally protected actions... they committed a crime.
They will not prove that any of this planning actually planned for or promoted any sort of attacks of any sort, much less on the Capital. The FBI has already confirmed that there is absolutely ZERO evidence of any coordination by anyone.
But rather, they will pretend that planning of the perfectly legal and constitutionally protected rally constitutes a crime or otherwise makes them responsible for the other behavior.
Simple bait and switch. Nobody with an IQ above room temperature should fall for such nonsense.
But Idiots like Roger are too stupid to see through it.

What scares liberals is that if Trump had been in Germany before WW2 there never would have been a Hitler.
And the Jews would not have faced a genocide
and millions of lives would have been saved
now liberals desperately want a repeat of that or a KKK society
so they accuse their opponents of what they want as did Hitler
1984
*actually JFK made a trip to Germany and lavished praise on Hitler
and democrats formed the KKK
inconvenient facts
* and Biden himself eulogized a former KKK higher up
a democrat leader
but accuse republicans...
* and democrats use false flags to stoke Nazism and race hatred
along with false accusations
they just want power and others are just pawns for the Elites
