Funny how they have legal analysts who all seem to believe that the jury was correct.... but then they keep going to their "people in the field" or the "civil rights experts" who demand that this was the worst decision they have ever seen.
They sit around interviewing Jacob Blake relatives, and other emotionally charged people who we are supposed to feel sorry for because they believe Kyle Rittenhouse is a white supremacists who murdered people in cold blood.
I found the interview with defense attorney Richards. interesting. When they asked him what he would say to those who feel this was an injustice, he replied simple... that they should "watch the trial". Certainly as true as true can be here. Anyone who actually did pay attention to the trial would understand that the prosecution had a bad case and would understand that this was not a legal injustice.
More to the point, there is literally no evidence that Kyle Rittenhouse is involved in any white supremacy groups, or anything like that. Not to mention he didn't shoot any black people here. These are just smears against a now 18 year old boy who is a lifeguard who was only there to help.
But at the end of the day, this was never a good case for the prosecution and under less politically charged circumstances these charges would have never been brought.

I posted information about him involved with the proud Boys etc.
The most striking element of Rittenhouse’s experience, and one of the reasons it became such a focal point for national attention, was the way he was treated by police. Rittenhouse was 17 when he self-deployed to the streets of Kenosha, not far from his home in Illinois, carrying an AR-style rifle. Just a few minutes before he shot the three men, footage showed police greeting Rittenhouse and giving him a bottle of water. After the shooting, he then went home, where his mother persuaded him to turn himself in. At the police station, detectives cut off his interview when he plainly did not understand Miranda rights.
As many commentators have pointed out, a young Black man in the same situation would almost certainly not have been afforded all—or perhaps any—of these indulgences. The Second Amendment may be written in a race-neutral way, but in practice Black Americans do not have the same rights that their white compatriots do. A Black boy might never have had the audacity to go to protests with a rifle on his back. If he had, he almost certainly wouldn’t have been able to waltz past friendly police, turn himself in on his own timeline, and have his rights so carefully protected. But this injustice was outside the scope of the trial. Racially disparate enforcement is a travesty of justice, but undue clemency is not a crime. Neither the police nor our hypothetical Black counterpart were on trial.
The other trial is about a black man jogging in a white neighborhood was shot and killed by a white man.
I have a great friend who is black and always has a nice car. He has been stopped for driving while black.

Probably upset that other people do to him what he seems to do to others. He has no problem openly lying about Rittenhouse or others he finds he doesn't like. But someone accuses him of something and he gets all upset. Going to sue someone or something.

Wearing a T-shirt reading “Free as F–k,” Rittenhouse was serenaded with the Proud Boys anthem, “Proud of Your Boy” — and then repeatedly made the “OK” sign, which has been “co-opted as a symbol of white supremacy/ white power” and used by neo-Nazis and the KKK, prosecutors alleged.

While many liberals expressed outrage at the verdict, President Biden sought to calm those emotions.
“Well look, I stand by what the jury has concluded,” Biden said Friday afternoon on the White House lawn. “The jury system works and we have to abide by it.”
In a longer statement released minutes later, the president acknowledged that “the verdict in Kenosha will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included,” but urged “everyone to express their views peacefully, consistent with the rule of law.”
“Violence and destruction of property have no place in our democracy,” Biden’s statement continued. “The White House and Federal authorities have been in contact with Governor Evers’s office to prepare for any outcome in this case, and I have spoken with the Governor this afternoon and offered support and any assistance needed to ensure public safety.”

Family of Anthony Huber, who was killed by Rittenhouse:
We are heartbroken and angry that Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted in his criminal trial for the murder of our son Anthony Huber. There was no justice today for Anthony, or for Mr. Rittenhouse’s other victims, Joseph Rosenbaum and Gaige Grosskreutz.
We did not attend the trial because we could not bear to sit in a courtroom and repeatedly watch videos of our son's murder, and because we have been subjected to many hurtful and nasty comments in the past year. But we watched the trial closely, hoping it would bring us closure.
That did not happen. Today's verdict means there is no accountability for the person who murdered our son. It sends the unacceptable message that armed civilians can show up in any town, incite violence, and then use the danger they have created to justify shooting people in the street. We hope that decent people will join us in forcefully rejecting that message and demanding more of our laws, our officials, and our justice system.
Make no mistake: our fight to hold those responsible for Anthony's death accountable continues in full force. Neither Mr. Rittenhouse nor the Kenosha police who authorized his bloody rampage will escape justice. Anthony will have his day in court.
No reasonable person viewing all of the evidence could conclude that Mr. Rittenhouse acted in self-defense. In response to racist and violent calls to action from militia members, Mr. Rittenhouse travelled to Kenosha illegally armed with an assault rifle. He menaced fellow citizens in the street. Though he was in open violation of a curfew order, Kenosha police encouraged him to act violently. Kenosha police told militia members that they would push peaceful protestors toward the militia so that the militia could "deal with them." Soon after, Mr. Rittenhouse killed Joseph Rosenbaum. The police did nothing. Concerned citizens, confronted with a person shooting indiscriminately on the street, stepped in to stop the violence. Anthony was shot in the chest trying to disarm Mr. Rittenhouse and stop his shooting spree. Still, the police did nothing. Mr. Rittenhouse continued to shoot, maiming Gaige Grosskreutz. The police let Mr. Rittenhouse leave the scene freely. Mr. Rittenhouse came to Kenosha armed to kill. Kenosha police encouraged him to act violently, and our son is dead as a result.
We are so proud of Anthony, and we love him so much. He is a hero who sacrificed his own life to protect other innocent civilians. We ask that you remember Anthony and keep him in your prayers.
Biden calls for calm but says Rittenhouse 'not guilty' verdict leaves him 'angry and concerned'
Yeah that's keeping people calm.
You will hate the Democrats.
Gov. Tony Evers, D-Wis.
No verdict will be able to bring back the lives of Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, or heal Gaige Grosskreutz’s injuries, just as no verdict can heal the wounds or trauma experienced by Jacob Blake and his family. No ruling today changes our reality in Wisconsin that we have work to do toward equity, accountability, and justice that communities across our state are demanding and deserve.
…
We must move forward, together, more united and more motivated to build the sort of future we want for our state — one that is just, one that is equitable, and one where every person has the resources and opportunity to thrive — and I will not stop working to achieve that vision.
Lt. Gov Mandela Barnes, D-Wis.
Over the last few weeks, many dreaded the outcome we just witnessed. The presumption of innocence until proven guilty is what we should expect from our judicial system, but that standard is not always applied equally. We have seen so many black and brown youth killed, only to be put on trial posthumously, while the innocence of Kyle Rittenhouse was virtually demanded by the judge.
The judge was not impartial about it.
He's an old man from my generation, that has made a lot of mistakes..
But at least I'm not a bigot like you know who I am talking about.

Kyle Rittenhouse ‘Was a Cadet’ Who ‘Had the Best Thoughts at Heart’ When He Entered Kenosha, Jury Consultant Says
AARON KELLERNov 19th, 2021, 6:26 pm
Defense jury expert Jo-Ellan Dimitrius speaks to lead defense attorney Mark Richards on Mon., Nov. 1, 2021, during jury selection in the Kyle Rittenhouse murder trial.
A high-profile jury consultant to Kyle Rittenhouse on Friday said that she believes the acquitted Kenosha shooter’s “mind” and “desire that night was in the right place” when he entered the fray on Aug. 25, 2020, with a medic’s pack and an AR-15 rifle.
“Maybe he went about it the wrong way,” the consultant immediately noted.
Jo-Ellan Dimitrius, who has been employed by Rittenhouse’s defense team since July, granted an extended interview to Law&Crime shortly after Rittenhouse was acquitted of first-degree intentional homicide and other charges in connection with the deadly events in Wisconsin that catapulted Rittenhouse into a rancorous and at times furious debate about guns, self defense, and racially charged protests that engulfed the country last year. Jurors agreed with Rittenhouse’s defense that the teen killed two people and injured a third in self defense because he was being attacked.

“Here’s the real problem with the so-called Build Back Better bill. It’s communism. America was never meant to be a communist country.”
— Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), quoted by The Hill.
___________
No, the Build Back Better bill is not communism, just democracy practicing fairness and justice.
But I do agree that America was never meant to be a communistic dictatorial country.
Neither was it ever meant to be a Trump-styled fascistic dictatorship.

The Republicans are wanting to say that they will take over and reverse all that Biden will be getting done.
And yet when they won both the House and the Senate, did they succeed in doing away with the Affordable Care Act that Obama got passed?
NOPE. No, they didn't.
And if what Biden gets accomplished is as helpful and popular as what Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson and Barack Obama were able to accomplish, the Republicans will NOT do away with it without cutting their own throats-- NO, not even if they win the House and/or the Senate.
Kyle , Thank You.
Your firearm control was spectacular.
Bonus, The WOKE Sports, Entertainment and Socialist Media is in meltdown.
Sorry Reverend... but the problem with BBB isn't Republican opposition or Joe Manchin or Kyrsten Sinema...
The problem is the opposition of the American public.
The bigger problem with the bill that the Democrats in the House just passed is that it is simply dishonest. It provides five years of benefits while it provides ten years of paying for it. Even then, they are nearly $400 billion short.
According to the WSJ and others, if the bill actually provided the same amount of benefits (ten years) as it does paying for it... we are looking at adding trillions to the deficit.
I am curious, Reverend...
Why do you suppose that the Democrats wrote ten years of new taxes to cover five years of benefits? Do you suppose it was to try to make it appear that the bill doesn't cost anything? Do we seriously believe that they only want five years of benefits?
Broke Back Biden Will get another $1.5 to $1.75 Trillion from the US Senate , Manchin will cave , so will poll dance Cinnamon.
And, so it goes.
Jurors in the polarizing case said they had voted to acquit Rittenhouse, 18, of homicide, attempted homicide and other charges related to the August 2020 shootings in Kenosha, Wis.

WSJ reports
Chief among them is the state and local tax deduction. House Democrats have approved a plan to raise the $10,000 cap on the deduction to $80,000 through 2030, drawing the ire of some Senate Democrats who have raised concerns about offering tax cuts for high-income households.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.) is seeking to remove the four weeks of paid leave House Democrats included in the bill, while a measure giving temporary legal protections to immigrants in the U.S. illegally might face parliamentary problems that could force Democrats to strip it from the bill.
The Dreamers should have a way to become citizens.
If those measures are altered in the Senate, the bill would have to return to the House for another vote before going to Mr. Biden's desk????
Asked Friday by reporters if he would sign a bill that excluded paid leave, Mr. Biden responded: “I will sign it. Period.”
The final negotiations notwithstanding, many of the measures in the House product, including expanded subsidies for healthcare premiums, appear on track toward becoming law by the end of the year. Much of the bill, including $150 billion in housing aid and the roughly $555 billion in spending on climate measures, consists of longtime party goals that Democrats have hustled to enact before next year’s midterms, when they could lose control of Congress.
Many of those measures are funded only temporarily, though, a step Democrats took to limit the package’s sticker price. For example, the expanded child -tax credit would last only through 2022, neither indefinitely, as some had sought, nor for four more years, as Mr. Biden proposed.
Shortening the duration of the child tax credit was one of many compromises the party made to accommodate concern from centrist Democrats about its scope and cost.
The party had originally outlined a $3.5 trillion bill, later dropping measures including free community college and a program aimed at pushing utilities to use more clean energy from the effort. Programs that some Democrats had worried were imperiled, such as $150 billion for in-home care for elderly and disabled Americans, survived the negotiations.
“We can’t help anyone unless we get policy passed through the House, through the Senate, to the president’s desk,” said Rep. Suzan DelBene (D., Wash.), one of the child tax credit’s leading supporters.
Money is a sticking point in climate-change negotiations around the world. As economists warn that limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius will cost many more trillions than anticipated, WSJ looks at how the funds could be spent, and who would pay.
The looming expiration of many of the bill’s features means much of the Democratic Party’s work in Congress over the next decade is set to focus on reauthorizing its programs. Both Democratic and Republican critics have argued that the hope to keep funding the bill’s programs in later pieces of legislation only disguises its cost, with Mr. Manchin attacking what he called budget gimmicks.
The bill would impose a new 15% minimum tax on large U.S.-based corporations, create a 1% tax on stock buybacks and increase taxes on U.S. companies’ foreign profits, fulfilling part of the U.S. commitment to a global minimum tax agreement. The bill would leave the corporate tax rate at 21% after pressure from Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D., Ariz.) scuttled many of the Democrats’ plans for raising revenue.
For individuals, the basic tax rates would stay unchanged for all but top earners. Those with adjusted gross income over $10 million would pay a 5% surtax, and those with income over $25 million would pay an additional 3%.
Cast aside during the negotiations were Biden administration proposals to tax unrealized capital gains at death and require banks to report annual account flows to the IRS.
Democrats are using a special legislative process called reconciliation that requires just a simple majority in the Senate, allowing them to skirt the 60-vote threshold for most legislation in the Senate and advance the bill over Republican opposition. Reconciliation comes with limits on what lawmakers can pass through the process, and Democrats are bracing for some of the bill’s measures, including its immigration provisions, to run afoul of reconciliation’s strictures and be removed from the legislation.
For months, Democrats tied the education, healthcare and climate package to a separate, bipartisan infrastructure bill. Many Democrats viewed the $1 trillion public-works package as insufficient on its own and sought to create more pressure for the passage of the education, healthcare and climate effort by holding up the infrastructure bill.
That created a stalemate between progressives and centrists in the House until earlier this month, when the House passed the infrastructure bill after centrist Democrats signaled their support for the education, climate and healthcare bill. Mr. Biden signed the public-works legislation into law earlier this week.
The only problem they have is that they will have to make changes over time.
,-------
And they didn't mention the IRS is going to find out people who cheated on the taxes that maybe cut the deficit like I posted earlier today.
You obviously read Redstate etc
Why do you suppose that the Democrats wrote ten years of new taxes to cover five years of benefits? Do you suppose it was to try to make it appear that the bill doesn't cost anything? Do we seriously believe that they only want five years of benefits?
THE CBO report said that it would cost almost zero. Not the Democrats..
The Congressional Budget Office dropped its analysis of the $1.8 trillion social spending bill today, and the first thing to know is that they estimate it at $1.6 trillion over ten years.
So it's now officially the $1.6 trillion social spending bill. They also figure that it will raise about $1.3 trillion in revenue over ten years. The total effect on the deficit is $367 billion over ten years.
However, this doesn't count the revenue raised by going after tax cheats, which would raise at least $200 billion over ten years according to earlier CBO projections. That brings the effect on the deficit down to $167 billion over ten years, possibly even less.
That's about $16 billion per year, which comes to a net increase in the deficit of one half of one percent. That's 0.5%.
Note that this is a ceiling. If the tax cheats generate more revenue, as many economists think they will, the effect on the deficit could be close to zero.
Ten years not five
THE CBO report said that it would cost almost zero.
That's a flat out LIE. And if you're relying on the proverbial "tax cheat" to get you to where you need to be, you're fucked anyway, and here's why -
These tax cheats that you claim exist and that you're dependent upon implies that the IRS has been grossly incompetent all this time, and it also makes clear that by doubling the size of the IRS, the intent is to attack every single taxpayer, effectively relying upon a massive increase in audits.
You're telling the American people that you intend upon squeezing them for every last penny, and you're coming after them with the unbridled power of the state to bleed them dry.
Why do you suppose that the Democrats wrote ten years of new taxes to cover five years of benefits? Do you suppose it was to try to make it appear that the bill doesn't cost anything? Do we seriously believe that they only want five years of benefits?
There's not a democrat alive who would answer this honestly.
Not on here anyway.
Another conspiracy theory addiction system by Redstate geezers.
What exactly is Biden angry and concerned about? The evidence was clear that Rittenhouse acted in self-defense. We had multiple videos of the incident within hours of the shootings occurring. And after a slog of a trial, where every rock was overturned, the jury came to the only logical conclusion: That Rittenhouse was not guilty of murder (or attempted murder).
Further, that outcome had nothing to do with “healing our country’s wounds.” What wounds is he even talking about in this case? Rittenhouse was a white guy who shot other white guys in self-defense. No social justice narrative applies in any context. This faux show of anger and care by Biden falls flat because it’s so absurd in its presentation. Do facts matter at all? Or does stoking racial divisions in the country always take priority?
Lastly, why is the White House even encouraging people to protest, peacefully or otherwise? There’s absolutely nothing to protest here, and a responsible president would pointedly say that. The evidence was on the side of the acquittal. Any demonstrations will just further inflame tensions fanned by falsehoods. Biden should be telling people to go home, not to take to the streets to express their unjustified anger and concern.
Honestly, this presidency is the most predictable in history. Any time Biden manages to say something halfway not insane, his far-left handlers immediately rush to reshape his position. It’s so obvious he is completely beholden to the radicals, and it’s a terrible thing for a nation that desires some semblance of normalcy.
And again rrb says that the CBO is not a non partisan branch of the government, except when Trump was the President.
The MSNBC analyst says..
The jurors saw all the videos, reviewed all the evidence and made their all-important credibility determinations about the testimony of each witness who took the stand. Perhaps most critically, they evaluated the testimony of Rittenhouse himself when he said he was in fear of death or serious bodily injury on each occasion he fired his weapon. Even if the jury was not entirely convinced of the persuasiveness of his self-defense claim, they may not have been able to reject it beyond a reasonable doubt. Thus, a not guilty verdict. That is our jury system.
Regardless of how we may feel about the result, borne of politics, tribalism, sympathy or antipathy for one party or another, we must accept the jury’s verdict. But it does raise questions about the wisdom of unrestricted gun access and the way self-defense is defined in this country, especially when the “fight” is, seemingly, hopelessly lopsided.
Exactly correct IMO

The Rittenhouse trial judge's performance was controversial — but it wasn't unfair
During this trial, Judge Bruce Schroder handed down the type of evidentiary rulings that are made in courtrooms throughout the country every day.
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
However, this doesn't count the revenue raised by going after tax cheats, which would raise at least $200 billion.
This is an a lie and illusion, and a false promise by the Democrats. There's no money coming from "tax cheats". Widespread tax cheating is a myth.

And what enrage them? Did Kyle taunt them? No, there rage was triggered by Kyle putting out fires they started.
Dispite was the corporate media wants you to believe, these guys were no saints. They were bad psychotic thugs.
Well Kyle Rittenhouse would be dead if he didn't have unrestricted gun access.

One was beating about the head with a skateboard. One was lunging for him trying get his gun and would have used fist and feet to do great bodily harm. And one had a gun out pointing at Rittenhouse's head ready to pull the trigger.
So it's pretty much a certainty.
Where was this demand for guilt by democrats for thst woman killed in San Francisco by an illegal alien?
Or is it only when whites are on trial yo try to show blacks that they should vote dem again?
Why ballz is that you have no idea what happened, just reacting to something trump demanded. Sorry sport...your sense of justice is most amusing!!!
Jose Ines Garcia Zarate, 45, who had been deported to Mexico five times since first entering the United States as a juvenile, was charged in the July 1, 2015, killing of Kate Steinle on a San Francisco pier.
Defense attorneys said Garcia Zarate found the gun and it accidentally discharged, the bullet ricocheting off the ground at the pier frequented by tourists before striking the woman.
One was beating about the head with a skateboard

Good morning to everyone who is still laughing at liberals crying crocodile tears about the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict.
I love the smell of crying liberals in the morning !!!
It's going to be interesting to hear the FBI explain how they "lost" the exculpatory HD drone video (and didn't release it immediately so that Rittenhouse should never have been charged) only to have it appear at the prosecutor's doorstep at the start of the trial. Who then gave a low density version to the defense. And "enhanced" it and said it showed something it didn't.
People should be going top jail over this
unless we are a Banana Republic
It will even be more interesting if fucked up just disappeared into the ether and never heard from again!!! Cat Turd.....what is left of your brain!!!!!! BWAAAAAAAAAA!!! Hey @JalenRose Jacob Blake is still alive, not dead. And he was shot by police because he had a knife, refused to drop it, and a woman he’d sexually assaulted called police asking for protection. This is embarrassing @espn.
This is completely unacceptable @espn, you employ thousands of employees. If your talent is too dumb to know the facts, you have an obligation to educate them. And when you fail this badly you owe all your viewers a correction and public apology for your stupidity.
And if @Twitter and other social media sites truly wanted to correct lies that spread widely this is an easy correction. But they won’t do that. Because they want lies like this to spread, further divide us, and fuel the narrative that America is an awful country

“How upbeat is the Republican Party about its prospects for taking control of the House and Senate next year? So upbeat that it apparently is cool with the fact that in three Senate races — Georgia, Missouri and Pennsylvania — it has leading candidates who have been accused of harassing, abusing, threatening or otherwise mistreating women.
“Once upon a time, this situation likely would have provoked a major display of concern, or at least an attempt at damage control, by the Republican establishment. Instead many party officials are brushing off related questions like pesky bits of dryer fluff.

Once upon a time, this situation likely would have provoked a major display of concern, or at least an attempt at damage control, by the Republican establishment. Instead many party officials are brushing off related questions like pesky bits of dryer fluff.
While the particulars of these cases vary — the allegations, the candidates’ responses, the warmth of the party’s embrace — the creeping not-so-casual misogyny is indicative of the dark path down which former President Donald Trump continues to lead the G.O.P.
It is not simply that Mr. Trump has long worn his shabby treatment of women like a perverse merit badge — a symbol of how the rules of decent society do not apply to him. He also has made the Republican Party a welcoming place for other like-minded men. As president, rarely did he confront a harassment or abuse scandal in which he didn’t make clear his sympathies for the accused and his skepticism of the accusers. Pity the poor harasser. So misunderstood. So persecuted by humorless prigs. It almost takes the fun out of groping random chicks.
In Georgia, Herschel Walker, the former N.F.L. star, has been accused of a host of erratic and frightening behavior, including threatening his ex-wife’s life while pointing a gun to her head. Some episodes he has denied. Others he has chalked up to his struggle with mental illness, about which he wrote a book in 2008. (He credits therapy and Christianity with saving him.) In September, Mr. Trump endorsed Mr. Walker. Party leaders, including Mitch McConnell, are probably hoping that Mr. Walker’s violent history won’t much bother voters, or better yet, that it will play as an inspiring redemption story.
In Missouri, Eric Greitens is hoping for political vindication after stepping down as governor in 2018 amid a swirl of scandal. His bad behavior allegedly included threatening a woman with whom he’d had an affair to keep her trap shut about it or else he’d make public an explicit photo of her that he’d snapped without her permission.
Mr. Greitens is still in hot pursuit of Mr. Trump’s endorsement, but he already has a number of Trumpworld stars in his corner. The Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio has signed on with the campaign, and Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Trump campaign aide and Don Jr.’s girlfriend, is its national chair. Bernard Kerik, the former New York City police commissioner, and Rudy Giuliani, who at this point defies meaningful description, have stumped in the state for Mr. Greitens. Michael Flynn, Mr. Trump’s disgraced national security adviser, has given his endorsement.
Finally, in Pennsylvania, Sean Parnell is neck-deep in a custody battle with his estranged wife, who has testified that he verbally and physically abused her and their children. He has flatly denied all accusations.
Mr. Parnell was endorsed by Mr. Trump shortly before the controversy.
I am ok being in a pussy grabbing party than in a gay sex party.

When the GOP went nuts about six Dr. Seuss books being dropped by the author's family from publication, it was — no coincidence — the six books in which Seuss had drawn racist caricatures. And he wasn't violating the norms of his day: caricatures of buck-toothed Asians, swarthy gun-toting mustachioed Mexicans, and big-lipped Black people were all over the cartoons we watched as children in the 1950s. They are shocking today, but they were normal and common then, and the GOP wants to go back to that.
When we studied American history in elementary school the 1950s, we learned that Christopher Columbus was a great man who defied conventional wisdom and monsters at the "edge of the earth" to discover this golden land, just waiting for white people to show up and tame it. (A woman around my age who called into my program yesterday noted that she was "really pissed off" when, in her first year of college, she took a history course and discovered Columbus was actually a rapist, child-trafficker and a slaver.)
We also learned that most slave-masters (particularly the Founding Fathers) were really, really nice and thoughtful people who took good care of the poor, uneducated, primitive folks they "had under their care." To this day, there are still some textbooks in America that emphasize how slaveholding white people generously provided not only housing, food and clothing but also medical care for their charges.
Republicans today want to go back to that type of history for their children. They dress it all up with fancy language about "Critical Race Theory" but the bottom line for these white people is that they don't want their kids to grow up knowing that Black people and other people of color are just like them but with a different amount of pigment in their skin. They want that pigment difference to be THE defining characteristic, and they want teachers, police, and other authority figures to enforce segregation based on it.

This story describes exactly what I experienced growing up in Rapid City South Dakota in the late 50s and early 60s.
The only people of color we saw were on TV; even the milkman, mailman and delivery people were white. And the non-white folks we saw on TV were always, always depicted as either criminals or buffoons. And gay people? Even discussing Liberace's sexuality was a no-no. I loved watching Liberace on a tiny black and white TV. We didn't know he was gay.
Mom was in the kitchen or pregnant, and knew her place. One white man with a union job could raise a family without debt beyond a mortgage and car payment. People of color need not apply for the American Dream. My father Ivan was a union carpenter and usually the foreman.
This is the straight white world today's Republican Party wants to take America back to. They're all but shouting it with slogans like "Make America Great Again!"

Using the political power they get from skewing elections, Republicans want schools to help their children to grow up like many in my generation did, thinking at some unconscious (and often conscious) level that those racist caricatures were depictions of reality and only white people could be thoughtful, intelligent, peaceful problem-solvers like Dad on Leave It To Beaver or Gunsmoke's Matt Dillon or Superman. Or members of Congress or presidents.
White is good, they want their kids told: everybody else is weird, odd, comical, dangerous or "one of them." Or a Democrat.
The last Democrat running for president who won a majority of white people in his election was Lyndon Johnson.
While it's sometimes mentioned tangentially that Carter, Clinton, Obama and Biden all lost the white vote, a sort of parenthetic footnote to election results, it's the foundation of the entire Republican strategy and has been since Nixon invented it with his "Southern Strategy."
When LBJ signed the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts in 1964/1965 he left the white racists who'd supported the Democratic Party since before the Civil War without a home. Nixon prepared one, Reagan fluffed up the pillows, and Trump stood out front with a bullhorn and a "whites only" sign.
As it's becoming increasingly obvious to these "racially apprehensive" white people that America as a whole is never returning to the Leave It To Beaver era, they're falling back on their old intimidation and segregation strategies. Red counties in Oregon, for example, are teaming up with white voters in next-door Idaho and won nonbinding ballot measures to secede from Oregon. That sort of thing is popping up all over the country.
It won't work, any more than liberal fantasies of avoiding the armed and angry racists by having California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii split off into their own country will work.
Red/Blue rhetoric aside, America is one country. The Mike Flynn's and Donald Trump's of the world realize this and are calling for straight white people to rise up and take over by force, imposing a single religion, rigid gender roles, putting women "back in their place," and re-marginalizing all nonwhite minorities.
The "battle for the soul of America" so often highlighted, headlined, and bemoaned by the media is real, but they almost always miss the real story, the signal, for all the noise (to paraphrase Steve Bannon). It's actually a battle between a vision of America that's once again entirely under the thumb of straight white people versus one where everybody has an equal voice and an equal chance.
There are a hell of a lot of white racists out there; enough to put Trump in the White House, put race-baiting Republicans in the House and Senate, and secure control over thirty states.
But culture is inexorably changing. People from a multitude of hues and gender identities are showing up in media and business, and their numbers are growing. White supremacist school board assaults aside, educators and their students are teaching and learning the true racial history of America. (It's increasingly hard to avoid!)
No matter how much people like Marjorie Taylor Greene talk up civil war and bloodshed, they can't stop progress. They may win for a short while, maybe even a few years or election cycles, but time and history run against them.
The fight for democracy and humanity will continue, no matter how many people vigilantes like Kyle Rittenhouse or the cops kill, no matter how many racist white Republicans threaten the lives of their nonwhite colleagues.
Genuinely patriotic Americans who want a country that pulls together for the good of all — an E Pluribus Unum ("Out of Many, One") America — are on the ascent across America, even as the GOP has gone insane.
Nonetheless, it will take a lot of involvement and work to overcome both our racist history and the forces (both domestic and foreign) that seek to exploit racial divisions in this country.
Racism and violence are the GOP's brand these days, and if the media doesn't start calling them out explicitly for it, things are going to continue to get worse.
A new poll by the Marquette Law School found that while the GOP is largely united behind a 2024 Trump run for the White House, only 28 percent of all Americans agree. Seventy-one percent of Americans want Trump to leave our politics alone and go back to being a billionaire grifter.
Racist Republicans are the outliers, but they are motivated and well armed with significant white billionaire backing.
If we want democracy and decency to ultimately prevail, we have an enormous amount of political and restorative work to do before we rest. Don't lose faith: as Winston Churchill famously said, "Never give up!"

ENEMIES OF THE SCHOOL BOARD
Parents in some school districts find their input suppressed—and their dissent criminalized.
School boards have always attracted their share of controversies: disagreements over curriculum, bitter election fights, and personality clashes. But in recent months, as parents express their frustration over Covid lockdowns, mask mandates, and critical race theory, local school districts and federal law enforcement have upped the ante by monitoring parents, requesting undercover agents at school board meetings, and even arresting parents who attend board meetings to express dissent.
The latest and most egregious example comes from Round Rock, Texas. In a series of school board meetings this fall, two fathers—a minister named Jeremy Story and a retired Army captain named Dustin Clark—spoke out against alleged corruption and school officials’ hostility toward parents. Journalist Pedro Gonzalez reported that at an August meeting, Story had calmly “produced evidence that the board had covered up an alleged assault by the superintendent, Hafedh Azaiez, against a mistress.” The superintendent and school board president cut him off midsentence and ordered officers to remove him from the premises.
At the next meeting, in September, with the district’s controversial mask mandate on the agenda, the school board locked the majority of parents out of the room, preventing them from speaking. Clark and other frustrated parents asked the board to open the nearly empty room to the public. Instead, school board president Amy Weir directed officers to remove Clark from school property. As he was dragged out by two officers, Clark shouted to the audience: “It’s an open meeting! Shame on you. Communist! Communist! Let the public in!”
A few days later, the school district, in coordination with law enforcement, sent police officers to the homes of both men, arrested them, and put them in jail on charges of “disorderly conduct with intent to disrupt a meeting.” Families and supporters of Story and Clark held an all-night protest outside the jail, until the men were released the following morning. They are now raising funds for their legal defense.
The school board was able to do this because the Round Rock Independent School District has its own police force, with a three-layer chain of command, patrol units, school resource officers, a detective, and a K-9 unit. The department serves under the authority of the board and, through coordination with other agencies, apparently has the power to order the arrest of citizens in their homes. For many parents, the school board is sending a message: if you speak out against us, we will turn you into criminals. When reached for comment, the school district’s police department confirmed that it initiated the investigation and that “one board member requested details from the RRISD Police” prior to the criminal referral.
Round Rock is not the only school board to resort to repressive tactics to stifle dissent. In Loudoun County, Virginia, for example, where parents have protested against critical race theory and a sexual assault cover-up, the superintendent asked the county sheriff to deploy a SWAT team, riot control unit, and undercover agents to monitor parents at school board meetings. The sheriff refused, telling the superintendent that he had not provided “any justification for such a manpower intensive request,” but the mere attempt was astounding.
Even the FBI, under the direction of Attorney General Merrick Garland, has mobilized to monitor parents at school board meetings and, if necessary, prosecute them under domestic terrorism laws. The National School Boards Association, which had requested the federal intervention in a letter to the Justice Department, was later forced to apologize after state chapters strenuously objected to the tone and content of that letter. Yet the Biden administration has moved forward with the effort, creating a task force of federal agents and attorneys to coordinate against parent protesters.
The battle lines are clear: on one side, the Biden administration, public school bureaucrats, and their armed agents; on the other, parents and families who oppose school closures, mask mandates, critical race theory, and corruption. Public school officials have demonstrated a willingness to use police power to silence and intimidate their opponents. If parents are to succeed, protesters must continue to organize peacefully and highlight corruption and abuses of power by local school officials.
“This isn’t just about Dustin [Clark] and me,” said Story. “It is about everyone. If they can come for us and get away with it, school boards nationwide will be emboldened to come for you.” He is right—and parents must work together to stop it.

MAGA movement to go back to the 50s and no people of color could vote.
(Reuters) - In January, lawyer Cleta Mitchell joined a phone call with then-President Donald Trump as he pressured Georgia's top election official to "find" enough votes to overturn his defeat in the state, playing an important role in Trump's attempts to subvert the 2020 results.
Nearly a year later, the longtime conservative has been appointed to the advisory board of a federal agency with a mission to help states conduct secure elections.
Her surprise appointment to the U.S. Election Assistance Commission's (EAC) Board of Advisors shows how once-fringe "election integrity" activists are trying to gain footholds in U.S. institutions in the run up to next year's congressional elections. And it illustrates Trump's continued dominance over his party as Mitchell and other backers of his stolen-election falsehoods win support from powerful Republicans in Congress.
Every single legislation is designed to reduce turnout by people of color or religion...
Bullshit. Mire minorities voted for Trump than anytime ever before. Stop posting such horse shit.
THE NEW YORK TIMES REPORTS:
GOP Is Energized But Worry About Trump
12:39 pm EST
“As the country’s Republican governors met this week, there was an unmistakable air of celebration in the conference rooms and cocktail parties marking their annual postelection conference. Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin of Virginia was swarmed with well wishers and favor seekers who believed his victory in a liberal-leaning state offered the party a road map for next year’s midterm elections.
“Out of earshot of the reporters and donors congregating amid the palm trees and cactuses of the Arizona Biltmore resort, however, a more sober, less triumphant and all-too-familiar conversation was taking place among the governors:
What could be done about Donald Trump?”
HE REMAINS THE ALBATROSS AROUND YOUR NECK.
When does Ch give us a thread on the absolutely innocent self defense shooting of the unarmed black jogger in Georgia?
That was not the least bit racist, was it?
Poor dems have a two headed albatross named biden and harris. What will they do?
Funny how the people who are saying the justice system is broken thought it worked fine for the Derick Chauvin trial.

Must not be very important to him or Goddard has not given him his directions.
And we all know he swallows Goddard's every word. And everything else.
