The office of Vice President Kamala Harris saw two high-profile departures in the past week-and-a-half, as both chief spokesperson Symone Sanders and communications director Ashley Etienne announced they would be stepping down.
The White House has said that both departures were long-planned, but given the multitude of reports alleging a toxic work environment in Harris' office, most reporters were skeptical. CNN's Chris Cilizza, whose takes and general level of political awareness can be very questionable at times, was even able to detect the obvious, writing, "Top advisers to a vice president don't just randomly leave less than a year into a term. One departure might be explained away by extenuating circumstances. Two? No way."
If she is nominated for President she will get destroyed, not for political reasons but the more I see, I don't think she is fit for the job..

This special end-of-semester episode features me and Lucretia reflecting on the latest academic hoax that I highlighted earlier in the week (here and here), and which may have contributed to Higher Education Quarterly having to retract the fake article on how “right wing money” is supposedly pushing colleges and universities to the right and intimidating faculty and administrators. (The Chronicle of Higher Education wants to interview me about the whole matter some time next week.) The study was so ludicrous that only a liberal (and apparently the academic “peer reviewers” who signed off on the article) could have believed it.
This opens up a wider window into the question of why leftists—especially on campus—are such miserable, unhappy, and intolerant people, and why they behave tyrannically, increasingly turning our campuses into Stasi-like institutions worthy of East Germany. (Just this week, Columbia University put out a video, posted below, calling on students and staff to “report” people who use incorrect pronouns because of the “harm” and threat to safety such unpure speech acts represent. Suggestion: Why don’t we simply just call everyone “comrade” and solve everything at once.)
The answer requires taking seriously the nihilism of the modern left which cannot tolerate any disagreement or challenge to their position because it threatens their very being, while conventional or moderate liberals have been swept too far by the premises of supposedly progressivism to offer effective resistance to the extreme left. Warning: Expect cameo appearances from Harry Neumann and Harry Jaffa along the way!

Some new information about one of the steps of the slow motion coup arrived today..
Joint Chiefs Chairman Army General Mark Milley spent Dec. 4 at the White House, attending meetings with the national security team and principals — all the time, thinking he would be fired. The chain of command was broken, and the entire leadership of national security.
Defense Secretary Mike Esper was fired by Donald Trump, and a line of national security officials followed, terminated or forced to resign: Pentagon chief of staff, undersecretaries for policy and intelligence, chief of the nuclear weapons program, chief of the cybersecurity agency, a group of deputies and assistant secretary on defense and homeland security.
CIA director Gina Haspel and FBI director Christopher Wray are also waiting to be removed.
And there was the start of public rumbling that “the military” would do something if Donald Trump refused to leave office, leaving Milley to hold the line.
He probably would have resigned, leaving the President the task to find another Joint Chiefs Chairman..
Not one of them would have followed his orders to take the Capitol building and stop the electoral college votes..
It's almost if you don't accept the reality that Trump did leave office, that he did not ask the military to prevent Biden from taking over, that he did not fire all of these people...
It's almost if you would prefer to actually believe hypotheticals and pretend that what didn't actually happened did happen... and then judge everything by that alternate reality that doesn't actually exist.

Biden will “discuss how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law delivers for the American people by rebuilding roads and bridges, upgrading public transit, replacing water infrastructure, and creating good-paying, union jobs,” the White House said in a statement.
The president will discuss efforts in Kansas City to expand the city’s transit system and rebuild roads, sewers and bridges, Mayor Quinton Lucas tweeted Saturday.
The trip to Missouri is the president’s first to a state that voted for former President Donald Trump as part of his tour to promote the infrastructure legislation. He’s also visited New Hampshire, Michigan, and Minnesota as part of the White House’s effort to celebrate the $550 billion measure.
White House officials have noted the bill’s broad public approval, including the support of 63% of Americans surveyed in an ABC News/Washington Post poll last month.
Still, the legislation has done little to buoy Biden’s approval ratings, which have remained steady at just under 43% in the FiveThirtyEight polling average since the legislation passed.
Our government agencies are seizing upon the vaccine as a vehicle for power. Even our conservatives are saying that they oppose mandates provided that people get the shots voluntarily. However, if people stop being agreeable about it, out come the guns. It’s a strange definition of “voluntary,” to say the least.
Of course, the politicians in Washington and blue states aren’t explicitly talking about guns but, inevitably, that is where these things end because the power that the government wields invariably comes down to guns. With guns, they can force you to get a shot. With guns, they can take your money from the bank. With guns, they can take your children from you. And with guns, they can put you in prison or “COVID camps.”
