Detroit SuperIntendent destroys myth that CRT is not part of the curriculum in schools!

Detroit Superintendent Opposes CRT Ban in Michigan: “Our Curriculum Is Deeply Using CRT”
Critical Race Theory, unfortunately, has passed the House, in order to be banned from schools, and if schools do use it, by memory, it would bring a financial penalty to the district. Our curriculum is deeply using critical race theory, especially in social studies, but you’ll find it in English Language Arts and the other disciplines. We’re very intentional about creating a curriculum, infusing materials, and embedding critical race theory within our curriculum. As was stated by many speakers today, it’s because our students need to understand the truth of history, to understand the history of this country, to better understand who they are, and about the injustices in this country. We have led a process of 81 letters written to the legislature opposed to the legislation, that was mainly done by our teachers. When critical race theory passed the House, the Democrats walked out, because they were not able to give public comment, or comment opposing the legislation. Right now the legislation is headed to the Senate. Based on what other states have done in legislatures controlled by Republicans, this looks like it may pass. I think our best strategy politically is to lean on the governor to veto it, as she has done with other legislation that has passed in Michigan over the past couple of years. I don’t believe the Senate …. we might be able to convince the Senate not to pass it, but this looks like a pure Republican feature of legislation for this year.

Well there you go... someone who isn't openly lying about this. While I have real issues with what this person believes at least he says what he believes and obviously believes what he says. Generally liberals speak out of both sides of this issue, demanding that CRT is good and should not be banished while simultaneously suggesting that it is not being used.

Critical race theory is an academic concept that is more than 40 years old. The core idea is that race is a social construct, and that racism is not merely the product of individual bias or prejudice, but also something embedded in legal systems and policies.

The basic tenets of critical race theory, or CRT, emerged out of a framework for legal analysis in the late 1970s and early 1980s created by legal scholars Derrick Bell, Kimberlé Crenshaw, and Richard Delgado, among others.

A good example is when, in the 1930s, government officials literally drew lines around areas deemed poor financial risks, often explicitly due to the racial composition of inhabitants. Banks subsequently refused to offer mortgages to Black people in those areas.

Perhaps the central moment in the Virginia gubernatorial race was McAuliffe’s comment during a debate: “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” Like most Virginia voters, we couldn’t disagree more. Research shows that greater academic success follows when parents actively engage in their children’s education. To be sure, this doesn’t mean that we should decide the finer points of curricular design by plebiscite; nor does it mean that a minority of objecting parents should dictate school pedagogy. But public schools are institutions created by “We the People” and should be responsive to the input of parents and the broader voting public at the state and local level.

At a minimum, parents should be able to know what’s being taught to their children in the classroom. Transparency is a virtue for all of our public institutions, but especially for those with power over children. To that end, we have drafted a template—building on one of our earlier efforts at the Manhattan Institute and the work of Matt Beienburg at the Goldwater Institute—to inform state legislatures seeking to foster school transparency. Many subsequent headlines on The Guardian's report focused on the fact that Trump tested positive days before the debate, but all of them mentioned that he subsequently tested negative.

In a Wednesday statement, Trump said: "The story of me having COVID prior to, or during, the first debate is Fake News. In fact, a test revealed that I did not have COVID prior to the debate."

The Guardian did not report that Trump had the coronavirus before or during his debate with Biden. It was not clear what specific report Trump was referring to.

“President Joe Biden is set to kick off a more urgent campaign for Americans to get Covid-19 booster shots Thursday as he unveils his winter plans for combating the coronavirus and its omicron variant with enhanced availability of shots and vaccines but without major new restrictions,” the AP reports.

“The plan includes a requirement for private insurers to cover the cost of at-home Covid-19 tests and a tightening of testing requirements for people entering the U.S. regardless of their vaccination status.”

The government used a little trick to prevent video from being formally entered into the judicial record. Federal judges played along.

At least one federal judge handling several Capitol protest criminal cases is paying attention to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s show trial about the events of January 6.


Judge Thomas Hogan, 83, who has served on the D.C. District Court for nearly 40 years, referred to public testimony given last week by four law enforcement officers while he scolded a husband and wife over their involvement in the protest.

“[H]e begins by talking about the violence, and makes clear he listened to the police officers who testified before Congress last week about their experience, and notes the recent suicide of [a Metropolitan Police Department] officer,” Zoe Tillman, a reporter for BuzzFeed, live-tweeted during the couple’s sentencing hearing on Wednesday.

Set aside for a moment how the inflammatory and unsubstantiated accounts by those officers will taint an already highly biased jury pool in Washington, D.C. when trials begin next year; it’s clear the January 6 select committee already is influencing court proceedings. Judge Hogan, and presumably others, will take witness testimony at face value and use it as proof that Capitol defendants, even the nonviolent ones, contributed to “violence” that day.

Which is why, as we have argued repeatedly at American Greatness, the government and U.S. Capitol Police should agree to release more than 14,000 hours of surveillance video captured by security cameras on January 6. If the four-hour melee indeed compares to the worst terrorist attacks against Americans, and ranks among the worst days in U.S. history, the public deserves to see what happened, minute-by-minute, inside and outside the building.

But it’s not just Capitol complex security video that the government is trying to conceal from the public. In a recent filing, Joe Biden’s Justice Department argued against the release of footage recorded by officer Michael Fanone’s bodycam on January 6. The D.C. Metropolitan Police narcotics officer was one of the four cops who testified last week.


Fanone, 40, said he was not supposed to be on Capitol Hill that day but that he put on an official, unworn uniform—including a body camera—for the first time in 10 years to help assist his colleagues control the chaos. Fanone also testified he was afraid he would be killed that day—either shot with his own gun or torn limb from limb by Trump fanatics. In one outburst, Fanone called insurrection deniers in Congress “disgraceful” and claimed they were “betraying their oath of office.”

Actually I believe CRT should be taught as its own class. You could have open dialogue and discussions from both sides of the argument. Call it a philosophy class (since that it what it is).

But the issue here is that this Superintendent suggests that the CRT is "embedded" in the teachings of other subjects, meaning they are taking an unprovable theory and teaching children that it is a fact.

That is wrong on so many levels.

Actually like Nazism. I don't believe CRT has any business being taught in elementary and secondary schools as they give a warped view of the country.

And the only reason to teach Nazism is to understand it's inherent evil that was responsible for the murder of 6,000 people.
