Or, to put it a sharper point on it: Conservatives have deployed spurious constitutional logic to try to take away the rights of women and pregnant people, so Newsom has responded by trying to take away the rights of something conservatives actually care about: guns. This is coming out of California, but it reminds me of “the Chicago way” as described in the movie The Untouchables: “He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue.”
It’s a good stunt, and if we understand it as just that—a stunt—then we can appreciate what Newsom is doing. A stunt, however, is not a solution. People who think Newsom’s proposed legislation will box the Supreme Court either into striking down SB 8 or allowing bounty hunters to sue gun manufacturers simply aren’t paying attention to what this court is doing. These conservatives are not bound by logic. They are not servants of intellectual consistency.
The Supreme Court will dismiss the proposed California law before breakfast—on the very same day that they overturn Roe v. Wade, if necessary. For starters, conservatives on the court don’t actually believe that abortion is a fundamental right. They don’t think the court finally recognized women’s right to their own bodies in the 1970s; they believe the court invented that right in the 1970s. And they therefore believe those rights can be easily taken away, without upsetting the constitutional order.
By contrast, they believe gun rights were recognized and written down by the wealthy white men who were allowed to recognize things and write them down at this country’s founding. I’m not being glib or unfair when I say conservatives value gun rights more highly than they value women’s rights. I’m just telling you these people actually believe gun rights are in the Constitution and reproductive rights are not.
First, I am not in agreement that the Supreme Court will just toss this aside, but generally speaking the author here provides a general reasoning why they could or even why they should. The logic here is that there is neither a federal law that protects abortion rights (while there are several for guns) and quite honestly the 2nd Amendment "is" in the Bill of Rights, whereas there is no specific language in the Constitution anywhere that provides the right to an abortion.
To be even more crystal clear here about abortion and the idea of medical privacy we only need to look at 2021. The fact that the Government can mandate people take vaccines is proof positive that we have ZERO constitutional right to any medical privacy. We are at the whims and desires of the Government and have zero say in our own medical decisions. So let's not pretend that this right actually exists for anything "other" than the right to an abortion.
Gun rights are written into the Bill of Rights (Constitution) and they are also codified into Federal law. This person acknowledges this even as he mocks that reality. Abortion rights are neither in the constitution nor are they codified into Federal law. They exist purely because of a Judicial decision and can likewise be taken away if a new Judicial decision supersedes them.

I agree, even a liberal justice would agree with you and me..
There is such a thing as natural rights which is recognized in the 10th amendment. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
This is the basis for a lot of case law. And at time can be a real pain.
But it's good that the Constitution recognizes a general right privacy for individuals and corporations.
It's just political reasoning
But the World Nut Daily is hilarious
Evidence seems to support the allegations that Omar married her brother to gain entrance into the United States. Thus, it is most certainly fair to question how often the godless marriage was consummated and which of the children she has her brother fathered. Tlaib is a godless, uncouth, foulmouthed stain on humanity.
Both Omar and Tlaib are rabid anti-Semites who have habitually engaged in anti-Semitism from the nation's Capitol since they took office. But, that doesn't stop them from demanding Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg eradicate anything they determine to be anti-Muslim from Facebook.
The 14th amendment modified the tenth of right of States
Elie Mystal is another 'Bell Curve' poster child.
Dumb as a bag of fucking hammers and employing a pretzel logic that only a leftist can relate to.
Like this gem:

Geezus.
And while I believe in a natural right to privacy, I don't believe it applies to abortion anymore then killing your children postpartum. Here the state has the right (duty) to protect the natural right of all of it's resident born and not born yet.

Ranch dressing for this salad please waiter. Yeah, definitely the ranch.

The equal protection clause just means the the federal Constitution applies to the states also.
Before that there was quite a bit of successful litigation the said it didn't applied to the states. The states were allowed to drift into nation-states and they maintain sovereign power now.
Slavery. And many more than you can understand.
Johnathan Turley has become a conspiracy theorist addict...
The guilty verdict in the trial of Jussie Smollett was hardly a surprise to anyone who followed the evidence rather than the coverage of the case. Co-conspirators, videotapes and text messages all showed that his claim of a racist attack by President Donald Trump supporters was a hoax. However, the judgment of the jury was also a judgment of many in our media and our politics who immediately embraced his facially ridiculous claims as true. Once again, jurors showed that they are not taking the race bait that was snapped up by many politicians and reporters. a hoax
The Constitution never forbid slavery. It forbids the importation of slaves after a certain date.

What part of his statement is conspiratorial, alky?
The entire media DID fall for Juicy's bullshit lies. Hook, line and sinker.

Perhaps the conspiracy theory moniker belongs to you. Certainly "fool" would describe you if you still believe Smollett or any of his media shills.

BLM remains 'all in' with Juicy, which should give you an excellent idea of their limited intellect.

"
Producer price index Actual rocketing increase Nov.0.8%."
Highest rate at 9.8 % year over year in the history of the index according to CNN.
New York(CNN Business)A key inflation gauge showed that US prices continued to climb in November as pandemic-era supply chain chaos and a labor shortage continues.
The producer price index — which tracks the average changes in selling prices that domestic producers receive over time — rose 9.6% over the 12 months ended in November. It was the biggest jump since the data series was first calculated in November 2010, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and a larger advance than economists had expected"
So this was again, uneExpected hike in costs .
* correction ,,, 9.6 % , not 9.8%.
The emperor has no clothes:
Trump supporters are abandoning former president as his weaknesses are exposed
Tom Boggioni
December 14, 2021
In two separate pieces published on Tuesday, longtime conservative commentators explained that while Donald Trump still looks like the frontrunner for the 2024 GP presidential nomination, there are warning signs that his influence in the Republican Party is waning as his act grows old and fans seem to have grown weary of him.
Writing for the Daily Beast, Matt Lewis stated that there is more than enough evidence that conservative voters are beginning to ignore the former president as evidenced by the poor showing so far by potential 2022 GOP candidates he has endorsed and this past weekend's rallies in his new home state of Florida that were poorly attended.
Noting a report from the National Journal’s Josh Kraushaar that Trump's star is fading, Lewis piled on by writing, "Trump’s endorsed candidate, Sean Parnell, was forced to drop out of the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania. Second, Trump’s endorsed U.S. Senate candidate in Alabama, Rep. Mo Brooks, is losing ground to a younger candidate named Katie Britt. Third, the much-hyped Trump-Bill O’Reilly tour kicked off with a lot of empty seats. And fourth, Trump’s endorsed candidate in a Texas special election, Susan Wright, was defeated in a race to replace her late husband."
Admitting that "Trump’s lack of coattails isn’t new," Lewis suggested that both Trump's overexposure has hurt him as people have grown tired of hearing about him, and now he's also dogged by underexposure due to his banning from social media.
Using former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin as an example of how a politician can become yesterday's news, Lewis wrote, "Now, it’s true that Palin did not possess Trump’s resources or media savvy (nor was she president), but her prime shelf life lasted for about four years (2008-2012). At age 75, Trump is on year seven of largely dominating the news. How long can he keep it up? At the end of the day, Trump faces the same existential threat we all do: mortality. In his case, this means both his literal and political life."
Noting that a recent poll shows that about half of Republicans questioned indicated that don’t want to see Trump run again, Goldberg explained that boredom with Trump could mean conservatives and GOP lawmakers can feel free to ignore him.
"Some of this is Trump’s own fault. He reserves most of his passion for his bogus claims about the election being stolen. And while he’s persuaded a dismaying number of Republicans to tell pollsters they believe that the 2020 election was 'rigged,' the only pundits, Thecoldheartedtruth and politicians still talking about it are fringe characters, like pillow magnate Mike Lindell,

Alky says we just need to increase wages
Alky did say that hogher wages ARE NOT INFLATIONARY.
He knows so little about economics and personal finance.
Roger, James and Roger's Rectum all "retired" the made up nonsense term of "Transitory Inflation ".
They were told to and they obeyed.
