Is she more qualified than Merrick Garland

The only question needed to be asked when Biden narrows the list

  • Merrick Garland clerked for Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan Jr.
  • Merrick Garland served as a Federal prosecutor for several years
  • Merrick Garland served 23 years as an Appellate Judge for DC (one of the most important appeals court in the nation)
  • Merrick Garland was Barack Obama's first choice for the USSC in 2016
  • Merrick Garland has spent nearly a year as the US Attorney General

So are any of Biden's potential nominees in the same time zone as Garland when it comes to their personal qualifications. Because let's face it, Merrick Garland is available and many believed he was the most qualified seven years ago. Since then he has only garnered more experience as a Judge and as the Attorney General. But this man will not be considered, because he is a man and is not black.

Obama picked a white man and Moscow Mitch McConnell blocked him.

It must have been racially motivated!

He knew that picking a qualified nominee, based upon gender and race, as he pledged to do during the campaign, would be criticized by Democrats and Republicans.

Most politicians don't do thatanymore

He fulfilled his promise.

Another Republican says that you are full of shit.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday pushed back against the notion that President Biden's vow to nominate a Black woman the Supreme Court was akin to "affirmative action," saying he was in support of making U.S. institutions "look like America."

"Put me in the camp of making sure the court and other institutions look like America. You know, we make a real effort as Republicans to recruit women and people of color to make the party look more like America. Affirmative action is picking somebody not as well qualified for past wrongs," Graham said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

Graham's remarks come after Mississippi Republican Sen. Roger Wicker said in an interview last week that any Black female candidate Biden nominates to the court to replace the retiring Justice Stephen Breyer would be a "beneficiary" of affirmative action.

During his interview on Sunday, Graham gave a glowing endorsement of J. Michelle Childs, a federal district judge in South Carolina, to be considered for the Supreme Court, saying he couldn't think of a better person for Biden to consider. The White House has confirmed that Childs is under consideration.

"Michelle Charles is incredibly qualified. There's no affirmative action component if you pick her. She is highly qualified," Graham said.

"In the history of our country, we've only had five women serve and two African American men," he added. "So let's make the court more like America, but qualifications have to be the biggest consideration."

Probably the big hurdle for Michelle Child's is that she's currently nominated by Biden for the court of appeals. So she's not even on the court the justices usually come from. That could br a disqualifier.

Wonder why Lindsay Graham considers her IMMENSELY qualified.

Myballs said...

Nothing else to say? That figures.

Well, she's from South Carolina. He's prefer that over some san Fran woke activist no doubt.

Scotus nominees usually come from the court of appeals. That could be a problem. That was my point.

Ch wants Biden to nominate Merrick Garland and thus not consider all the qualified black women.

Why does he want to suppress the black vote and keep blacks off the Supereme Court?

Obama picked a throughly unqualified jurist to be Associate Justice. Fortunately, he was lucky affirmative action let him get away from Garland.

The Democrats betrayed black people when they rejected Clarence Thomas.

The showed their real racist spots.

As for any Black Civil Rights leader who serves the Democrats agenda?

Well let's just say it's a contemptuous term that begins with a "U".
