Funny thing is the reason I generally buy options is because I think the stock will go up... gamma squeezes especially (which is what this is)... and I general end up waiting them out.
Have no idea what prompted me to put a sell order in at the 0.10 cents other than I was pissy about PROG and didn't want to have another option just basically become worthless.
I was correct in projecting all three of these past stocks. I didn't sell PROG when I had the chance to make money because I thought it was go higher. Never did. I sold SENS at the peak and made a bit of money. But I completely blew BBIG selling just hours before it took off.
That is the problem with the market and options. You can analyse stuff, check what everyone is saying, make a call and be right. Still not make anything (or even lose money) based on your timing.
When I traded, I usually had a core long-term position in what I was trading and was just trying to enhance my profits. If I was wrong, it became a bigger position and I hung on. At one time I wrote covered calls but am now too lazy.
Things worked out well, but I probably was more lucky than good. I remember reading that when the market hit its peak in 1966 it didn't re-reach that level in inflation adjusted dollars until the 1990's. People who tried to play the stock market during this cycle (which included a significant inflation over some of it) were screwed.
The most important consideration has to be the macro environment and we've been lucky.
I posted a couple weeks ago that I am now largely in bonds. It's a certainty that interest rates will go up this year. Multiple times. The market always drops when they do.
Frankly, the Fed seems a little slow with raising them.
That is the problem with the market and options. You can analyse stuff, check what everyone is saying, make a call and be right. Still not make anything (or even lose money) based on your timing.
Biden to Hold News Conference Next Week January 14, 2022 at 2:43 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 77 Comments
“President Joe Biden will hold a news conference on Wednesday afternoon, the eve of the one-year anniversary of his inauguration,” the AP reports.
“The news conference comes as Biden is attempting to salvage his voting rights initiative and economic agenda, both of which lack the votes to move forward in the evenly-split Senate.”
anyways for me that is multi-tasking and got back about half my BJRI losses as I listened. I'm thinking BJ's will have a jump once people realize that this current hysteria is way overblown. Well run, lots of runway and down significantly from 6 months or so. But it is the restaurant business... And who knows how much Biden can still screw up.
Bonds worry me because of the inflation angle, consensus is 3 rate hikes this year. And while the market is likely overpriced, I've found myself better off just trying to pick individual stocks and not try and time the whole market. Does make for some worrisome periods though. With stocks going down is always steeper than going up. Bonds are boring and that can be a good thing.
Trump to Rally Supporters In Texas January 14, 2022 at 3:22 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 65 Comments
Former President Donald Trump will hold a rally in Texas later this month as he looks to ramp up his travel schedule ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, The Hill reports.
He’s holding a rally in Arizona this weekend. __________
He needs to do some fast talking.
Right now his RealClearPolitics agreggate UNapprovals EQUAL Biden's:
Liberals really attacking Sen Sinema for not blowing up the filibuster. They used to like having a maverick senator from Arizona in the Senate. Not so much now.
Per those on the left, including Democrat politicians, “white supremacy” had won because the filibuster is a “Jim Crow relic” only used by virulent racists. Don’t believe me? Just ask Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hakeem Jeffries, and Ayanna Pressley
But then something incredible happened. Literally hours after the Democrats embarked on a major offensive to abolish the filibuster as a tool of racists everywhere, they then…used the filibuster. They didn’t just block any bill either. They did Russia’s Vladimir Putin a solid by blocking Ted Cruz’s bill to sanction the Nordstream 2 pipeline.
You couldn’t have scripted this any better, and I’m pretty sure Ted Cruz knew exactly what he was doing here. He timed things perfectly to once again show what rabid hypocrites the Democrats are. That the bill was stopped also represented a massive win for the Russians was just the cherry-on-top. The White House actually spent the last week lobbying for Putin in this case.
But remember, it’s Republicans who are soft on Russia. Meanwhile, Biden and his party continue to bend the knee, going so far as to green-light Germany making itself energy dependent on the very country that NATO exists to protect it from. Truly, yesterday was a banner day in exposing the Democrats for exactly what they are on essentially all major fronts. Throw in the prior day’s inflation report, and this has easily been the worst week of Biden’s presidency, and that’s saying something considering what happened in Afghanistan.

Ohio Justices Strike Down Congressional Map January 14, 2022 at 1:35 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 93 Comments
“The Ohio Supreme Court struck down the state’s congressional district map Friday, saying Republicans violated the Ohio Constitution by drawing districts that favored GOP candidates,” the Columbus Dispatch reports.
“Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor was, once again, a key vote in the 4-3 decision to reject the map, which could have given Republicans as much as a 12-3 advantage in a state that voted for President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump, twice.”

Any idea when the dumb fuck intends to begin, pederast?
LOL. Imbecile.
I'll tell you what happens. Covid fizzles the fuck out all by itself. The emerging variants, while more contagious, are much more mild. It works its way through the population infecting virtually everyone, and then takes it's place among the other SARS variants landing right next to the common fucking cold.
Biden emerges from his perpetual fog to deliver Klain-prepared remarks declaring victory, in the early afternoon of course, calling his usual early lid. And then you, the alky and all the rest of you dumb fucks on the left bend over backwards to give Brandon credit he doesn't deserve, signing his praises and showering him with accolades he neither deserves nor is even coherent enough to understand.

The election on Tuesday was not national news, nor should it be. It was a special election to replace a House Democrat who died in office in April. The race itself was hardly contested by national political parties even though the US House is closely divided. Joe Biden won the area with 77 percent in the 2020 election. Given that Democrats outnumber Republicans by a 5 to 1 margin in the district, it was almost certain that a Democrat would win.

“The National Republican Congressional Committee, meanwhile, raised about $35 million in the final quarter of 2021 and $140 million for the whole year. The NRCC also finished 2021 with $78.2 million cash on hand.”

Is this not disgraceful coddling of (colluding with?) Putin, using a racist, democracy-killing tool?!
It is just spectacular that Senate Democrats filibustered something this week, of all weeks. That it happened to be a Republican bill that would have turned the screws on Putin is just icing on the cake. Point and laugh at these ridiculous people.

Coronavirus Updates: Important developments in the pandemic. Free rapid tests should be ready to order next week
The latest Free rapid coronavirus tests should be more easily available next week when a federal website where Americans can request them is expected to be up and running. Officials said the website, covidtest.gov, will allow households to order up to four free rapid tests for home delivery, starting Wednesday. President Biden said that his administration is also buying 500 million additional tests to distribute, on top of the 500 million already ordered, and that higher-quality masks will also be distributed free...
As the pandemic approaches its third year, U.S. lawmakers are considering delivering another round of coronavirus relief, including paid leave to workers affected by the virus, as part of a spending package meant to fund the government. Congress is racing to reach a deal before the current agreement expires in mid-February. The exact contours of any additional virus aid are unclear due to uncertainty about how much of the roughly $6 trillion approved since the start of the pandemic remains available.
Meanwhile, the Treasury Department is threatening to rescind more than $170 million in stimulus aid for Arizona after the state said it would use the funding to discourage schools from requiring masks.
IMPORTANT: Pregnant women who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus are more likely to have their babies die less than a month after birth, in addition to being more likely to be hospitalized for covid-19 themselves, a new peer-reviewed study found.
The researchers examined more than 144,000 pregnancies in Scotland during the pandemic and found that ALL the infant deaths occurred for mothers who HAD NOT BEEN VACCINATED at the time of their covid-19 diagnoses.
IN AMERICA Many schools face dire staffing shortages as the highly contagious omicron variant forces teachers to stay home. Some schools are asking parents to fill the gaps by working or volunteering as substitutes.
The problem isn't limited to teachers: A Maryland school district asked for National Guard members to drive buses, while school board members in Vermont worked as janitors and a Georgia principal served in a cafeteria.
As hospitals also face a crisis, about 1,000 military medical personnel are preparing to deploy to civilian hospitals hit hard by the coronavirus surge.
While most schools are determined to stay in person, the perception is spreading among students that adults are failing to protect them.
For the first time in large numbers during the pandemic, students in cities and suburbs across the country are organizing petitions and walkouts, demanding greater protections from infection and options for remote learning.
Other important news In a study of 1,000 U.S. patients, nearly all teenagers who needed intensive care for covid-19 were unvaccinated.

I'll just go with history and the most likely truth... which is that Putin is basically laughing right now.
Doesn't matter what you believe Trump did. The reality (like it or not) was that Putin and Russia played nice for the four years Trump was in charge. They were not so nice when they invaded and annexed other countries while Obama was in charge and they are not playing nice right now.
Perhaps Putin didn't care one way or the other or thought it had any importance what the US media rumored about Trump. While media stories are fodder for masturbation sessions for liberals... most people take them with the seriousness that they deserve. Nada!

Who is Stewart Rhodes? Ch,s hero Elmer Stewart Rhodes — a 56-year-old former U.S. Army paratrooper and Yale Law School graduate from Granbury, Texas — founded the Oath Keepers, a far-right militia group, in 2009 in response to the election of President Barack Obama. With a signature patch covering an eye that he lost from an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound, Rhodes rose to prominence as a guest on Alex Jones’s “Infowars” program. He also came into the national spotlight in 2014 when the Oath Keepers took part in the armed confrontation between supporters of cattle rancher Cliven Bundy and federal law enforcement at Bundy's Nevada ranch. (Rhodes was not charged in the standoff.)
What are the charges against him? The indictment unsealed Thursday alleges that Rhodes and the Oath Keepers discussed strategies to overturn the election results for weeks before and after Jan. 6.
Two days after Election Day, Rhodes allegedly urged his followers not to accept the election results. “We aren’t getting through this without a civil war,” he wrote in a message on Signal.
On Dec. 11, 2020, Rhodes warned that if then-President-elect Joe Biden tried to assume power, it would trigger “a bloody and desperate fight.”
“We are going to have a fight,” he wrote. “That can’t be avoided.”
Beginning his drive to Washington from Texas on Jan. 3, Rhodes spent approximately $6,000 on “an AR-platform rifle and firearms equipment, including sights, mounts, triggers, slings, and additional firearms attachments," federal prosecutors allege. The next day, in Mississippi, he allegedly spent another $4,500 on additional firearms equipment, including a magazine.
Rhodes did not enter the Capitol on Jan. 6, but the indictment alleges that several members of the Oath Keepers, wearing camouflage combat attire, were seen on camera shouldering their way through the crowd and into the Capitol in two military-style “stacks,” or formations. The first stack split up inside the building, the indictment alleges, with one group heading toward the House side and the other to the Senate. The second group confronted officers inside the Capitol Rotunda, according to the indictment.
Outside Washington, the indictment alleges, the Oath Keepers had stationed two “quick reaction forces” that had guns “in support of their plot to stop the lawful transfer of power.”
Prosecutors say Rhodes was planning for violence well beyond the Capitol siege, spending more than $17,000 on weapons and ammunition between Jan. 6, 2021, and Inauguration Day. And he allegedly tried to organize local militia groups to oppose by force the peaceful transfer of power.
Ever since former President Donald Trump supporters tried to stop the presidential vote from being certified by Congress last Jan. 6, Republicans have been calling any attempt to investigate the origins of that day's violence another politically-motivated witch hunt.
Malcolm Nance, a former military intelligence analyst and an expert on extremism, has been closely following the aspirations of those who falsely believe that the 2020 election was illegitimate.
In his forthcoming book titled "They Want to Kill Americans: The Militias, Terrorists, and Deranged Ideology of the Trump Insurgency," he argues that those who believe the 2020 presidential election was stolen are planning for war — and their movement will either "lose steam or explode."
On the effectiveness of many Republicans, who first denounced the violent Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, quickly changing their narrative
“I think it's been exceptionally effective. You have, right now, one-third of the American electorate in the latest Ipsos poll refuses to believe that Joe Biden was elected president of the United States and that Donald Trump is the legitimate president of the United States. Things were moving so fast in the political sphere that the strategy I outline which I call DARF — deny, attack, revenge and fear, these are the four cycles of the political process that would lead us into an insurgency and could put us on the path to civil war — the deny phase came so quickly.
“By March of 2021, Republicans who had gone on the floor of the House of Representatives and the Senate and had deeply attacked the concept around trying to deny the election had completely flipped. For them to survive politically, they had to deny the very words they had said on Jan. 7 or the period leading up to the impeachment, and it was political suicide to do anything other than to accept the Big Lie. It was the basis for not just overturning what they thought they could overturn — the results of that election — but for destroying the foundation of American democracy in itself. And we are hurtling headlong into that destruction.
On whether the low-grade political insurgency will “lose steam or explode,” as Nance writes in his book
“I think that we are well past the peter out part. I was really hoping by July of 2021 that the Trump machine would lose steam. What I didn't realize at the time when I wrote this is what happens on the other hand, when they just decide that the American electorate is not wise enough to choose their own president. I never thought for a minute that the entirety of the Republican Party would just politically align themselves with the end of the American experiment.”
On what could happen if the movement exploded
“I think it, unfortunately, is quite possible that it could quite literally start with an explosion. We monitor the communications, the Twitter feeds, the Telegram channels, some of the internal communications of some of these low-grade insurgents or potential insurgents. And what we generally see is people arguing this question: What is our breaking point? I see it every day, literally, can see people arguing, well, is it Joe Biden doing this or is it Kamala Harris doing that? What if Joe Biden gets sick? They live in this fantasy world, and they are only waiting for a very specific sign. And I don't know whether that's going to manifest itself in a group that is working covertly right now, who knows, to plan a massive attack. And there I give a scenario where drones are used ISIS-like to kill several hundred American citizens at a protest as the kicking off point for what I often see these Trump supporters referring to as the second American Revolution. Some of them refer to themselves as the second sons of Liberty.”
“... Well, just dropping explosives or, you know, falling themselves as packaged explosives or, you know, just using the traditional methods that terrorists use. In the United States, firearms are the most prevalent way that people kill each other.”
On how undermining American democracy would benefit insurgents.
“See, this is where you actually have to try to understand the perspective they're coming from. ... Many of these people are now detached from reality. They will not believe anything that comes from the news media or as they consider, you know, the fake news. It must only come from within their own corrupt information sphere. When they use charged words or, as we call it in the intelligence community, eliminationist rhetoric, then you start seeing the low-grade people think that they now have the ability to be the Sons of Liberty.”
“Every once in a while, when we read these threads on the QAnon channels or the Donald.win and these things, you find an individual come up and say something along the lines of, 'well, you know, the Wal-Marts will close if we carry out an insurrection, that police will be on the street. The National Guard will be breaking up our way of lives.' The problem is it's the loudest voices within these tiny bubbles of extremism who say, 'well, that's just the way it's going to have to be. You're going to have to surrender some of your liberties.'
"These are the same type of words that I saw in the intelligence community and working in counter-extremism that Timothy McVeigh [the man responsible for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing] used. Timothy McVeigh thought that his bomb would kick off a race war in which every member of the armed forces would take their rifles and start mass murdering Blacks, liberals and Jews. He really thought that was going to happen the next day. The problem is we have people now in this country who are so corrupted through their own misinformation, foreign disinformation in an information sphere made up of crazy lies like QAnon, which calls for the genocide of all Democrats and liberals, that they think they can make it happen. And many of them thought Jan. 6 was the day that that was all going to kick off.”
DirectTV has declined to renew its contract with One America News Network (OAN), a far-right outlet favored by former President Trump.
DirecTV, which is owned by AT&T Inc. and TPG Inc., told The Hill they have notified Herring Networks Inc., the owner of OAN, that the contract between network and the service provider will not be renewed.

“We informed Herring Networks that, following a routine internal review, we do not plan to enter into a new contract when our current agreement expires,” DirecTV said in a statement.
Mike Pence was vice president of the United States from 2017 to 2021.
Now that the anniversary of Jan. 6 has come and gone, some of us who lived through that tragic day in 2021 are getting a clearer picture of what was and is at stake. On Jan. 6, an angry mob ransacked the Capitol, largely to try to get Congress and me, as the president of the Senate, to use federal authority to overturn results of the presidential election that had been certified by all 50 states.
Lives were lost and many were injured, but thanks to the selfless and courageous work of law enforcement, the Capitol was secured, and Congress was able to reconvene the very same day and complete its work under the Constitution and laws of the United States.
But then Story continues below advertisement
In the year since that fateful day, states across the country have enacted measures to try to restore confidence in the integrity of our elections while ensuring access to voting for every American. Georgia, Arizona and Texas have led the way with common-sense reforms, such as requiring verifiable identification on absentee ballots and using cameras to record ballot processing.
Despite this steady progress of state-based reforms, now come President Biden and Senate Democrats with plans to use the memory of Jan. 6 to attempt another federal power grab over our state elections and drive a wedge further into our divided nation.
Their plan to end the filibuster to allow Democrats to pass a bill nationalizing our elections would offend the Founders’ intention that states conduct elections just as much as what some of our most ardent supporters would have had me do one year ago.
Just for Scott Johnson schizophrenia squad

Conclusion: The Time Is Now For Full-Court Legal and Legislative Action
You know the fix is in because we do not have Ray Epps’s phone records from January 6.
A full and complete record of every text message, every phone call, and every wire conversation Ray Epps made on January 5-6 would tell us exactly who else was privy to the Capitol breach plan. It would also very likely tell us which federal agencies were giving the orders, and which agents in particular were handling the many disparate members of the breach team.
The sham January 6 House Select Committee has now subpoenaed over 100 civilian cell phone records. But you know the fix is in because they have stayed away from subpoenaing the cell phone records of Ray Epps. And Ray Epps is just chilling at home these days, under the apparent protection of the Phoenix FBI.
We know that in the FBI-orchestrated “Whitmer Kidnapping Plot,” just three months before January 6, key FBI informants received text messages from handlers to “maximize attendance” of the patsies at locations where their presence would be construed as an “overt act” in furtherance of a conspiracy (“agreement” and “overt act” are the two legal elements of a federal conspiracy charge).
Congressional Republications must now demand the phone records and full and complete account of Ray Epps’s relationship with the federal government. Subpoenas should be flying at Sean Kaul, the Special Agent-in-Charge of the Phoenix FBI Field Office, faster than Merrick Garland can run from an honest question.
January 6 defense lawyers: you must seek court-ordered subpoenas for discovery production related to the federal government’s records on such individuals as Ray Epps and ScaffoldCommander. If Ray Epps is a Fed, and your client walked through the Peace Monument gate or was induced to trespass because of the Big Bang Breach Team’s booby trap, you have an entrapment case and a potential affirmative defense. The Justice Department is legally required under Brady to provide you with all potentially exculpatory evidence related to that defense, and you should be prepared to play tapes of Ray Epps to the jury showing how the riot started in the first place.
If ScaffoldCommander is a Fed, and your client was induced to “move forward” and be thrust into a breaching throng, you have an entrapment case. “Fill up the Capitol” is a direct order. That goes far beyond the “strong suggestive language” that government informants are required to stay within in order to avoid entrapment.
Finally, Ray Epps, if you’re reading this: We know that you are conflicted, and that you want the truth to come out. You can still be a hero.
Simply come forward, and tell the world your story.

Anyways good luck
I posted a couple weeks ago that I am now largely in bonds. It's a certainty that interest rates will go up this year. Multiple times. The market always drops when they do.
Frankly, the Fed seems a little slow with raising them.
At one time I wrote covered calls but am now too lazy.
I have 2000 shares of SNDL - it's been a dog. I have made some of my money back selling covered calls.
But I just saw recently that some people are putting it back on the radar for another squeeze... would love to see it!
That is the problem with the market and options. You can analyse stuff, check what everyone is saying, make a call and be right. Still not make anything (or even lose money) based on your timing.
Stockbroker friend of mine had a saying -
"Buy the rumor, sell the FACT."
Frankly, the Fed seems a little slow with raising them.
I suspect they're delaying the inevitable as long as they can, and Powell is getting pressure from Soft-Serve Joe.
Once they pull the trigger on the first hike, they'll establish a cadence and the market goes to shit.
"Frankly, the Fed seems a little slow with raising them.".
About 9 -10 months too late.

Biden to Hold News Conference Next Week
January 14, 2022 at 2:43 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 77 Comments
“President Joe Biden will hold a news conference on Wednesday afternoon, the eve of the one-year anniversary of his inauguration,” the AP reports.
“The news conference comes as Biden is attempting to salvage his voting rights initiative and economic agenda, both of which lack the votes to move forward in the evenly-split Senate.”
just spent an hour listening to this podcast and was reminded of lots of things. Worth a listen if you can get past RFK's voice issues.
And a reminder how inept or crooked the FDA is
https://anchor.fm/rfkjr/episodes/Government-Hysteria-with-Alex-Berenson-e1cnuq1
anyways for me that is multi-tasking and got back about half my BJRI losses as I listened.
Trump to Rally Supporters In Texas
January 14, 2022 at 3:22 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 65 Comments

You Can Request Free Covid Tests Next Week
January 14, 2022 at 4:34 pm EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment
The White House announced that a new website will begin accepting orders on January 19 for free rapid tests.
Biden will bring us to victory over Covid, something Trump failed at, giving Covid enormously tragic victories over us.

An election in South Florida this week may serve as a marker for where the Republican Party stands in 2022, and how much American democracy has already changed since Donald Trump lost reelection.

Important developments in the pandemic.
Free rapid tests should be ready to order next week
The latest
Free rapid coronavirus tests should be more easily available next week when a federal website where Americans can request them is expected to be up and running.
IMPORTANT:
Pregnant women who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus are more likely to have their babies die less than a month after birth, in addition to being more likely to be hospitalized for covid-19 themselves, a new peer-reviewed study found.
The researchers examined more than 144,000 pregnancies in Scotland during the pandemic and found that ALL the infant deaths occurred for mothers who HAD NOT BEEN VACCINATED at the time of their covid-19 diagnoses.
IN AMERICA
Many schools face dire staffing shortages as the highly contagious omicron variant forces teachers to stay home.
Other important news
In a study of 1,000 U.S. patients, nearly all teenagers who needed intensive care for covid-19 were unvaccinated.

Ch,s hero
Elmer Stewart Rhodes — a 56-year-old former U.S.

WASHINGTON LGB.

Unless the Republicans dump Trump, Jan. 6 was the day that that was all going to kick off the slow motion coup.

Mike Pence is playing born sides.
On Jan. 6, an angry mob ransacked the Capitol, largely to try to get Congress and me, as the president of the Senate, to use federal authority to overturn results of the presidential election that had been certified by all 50 states.

What really happened on January 6?
Mike Pence is a traitor now!
