The bigger lie...

Democrats are geared up to make another fuss about Jan 6th

They say words are a powerful thing? People are influenced everyday by words. A salesperson, an elected official, an attorney, and countless other professionals use words to convince people of whatever it is that they want to convince them of. As someone who has spent most of my life in sales or front facing customer support, I can assure you that some people are more susceptible than others to the use of fancy wording.

When it came to the 2016 election, Democrats made use of the term "collusion" as their bread and butter. Hillary Clinton and most every Democrat in Congress demanded that Trump's victory was illegitimate based on "collusion" and pretty much everyone who votes Democrat fell in line. After challenging the election in court, having Congress members challenge and vote against the Electoral College vote, having three separate Congressional investigations, an FBI investigation, and a two year special counsel, it turned out that the only evidence of collusion was a made up dossier paid for by Hillary Clinton.

Now after spending over two years demanding that the 2016 election was illegitimate because of "collusion" that never existed, the Democrats upset that many people feel that the 2020 election had issues with election fraud. Specifically five states (Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona) have been singled out as having results affected by potential fraud. Already an Arizona audit found over 50,000 questionable ballots, in Wisconsin lawsuits attempting to garner information on whether 9 million dollars was spent on illegal vote drives in heavy Democratic areas, Election officials in Pennsylvania have been caught on tape destroying election documents for fear of an audit there. Huge unexplained counting anomalies took place in Michigan and Georgia and nobody had provide any explanations. Lawsuits in every states have been filed attempting to prevent audits and second looks.

But just as the perfectly legal Trump victory in 2016 was marred with the term "collusion" the questions about the 2020 election have been discounted by the terms "big lie" and "insurrection". The logic is lacking, but the pretense appears that anyone who believes either that there was fraud or refuses to accept the charges that 500 unarmed Americans were trying to take over the US Government is part of some evil cult and should likely be sent to jail and have the key thrown away.

There is no evidence or any logic involved here.  Just as people were entitled to believe in the fantasicle election collusion where Trump stole the election with the help of Vladimir Putin, people have the same first amendment right to believe that 2020 was riddled with fraud. Just as it was not illegal to challenge the 2016 results in court (as happened), not illegal to challenge the electoral college vote in 2016 (as many Democrats in Congress did in 2016), it was perfectly legal to do the same in 2020.

While it is illegal to storm the Capitol grounds for any reason, it is not illegal to believe that it was not an attempt at a coup or insurrection. It is also not illegal for others not associated with it to believe it was somewhat justified, nor is it illegal for a President to have "not done more to stop it". It is not a lie to say it was a riot, not unlike the Kavanaugh riots which saw hundreds of angry Democrats filtering through the capital compound attempting to find the Senate committee and prevent their vote.

The reality here folks, is that the bigger lie is coming from Democrats and others who once again are just "defining" their own reality... where doing the exact same thing they did in 2016 is now treason or somehow against the integrity of the US constitution.  Where they want you to believe that somehow 500 unarmed and unorganized people were involved with an attempt to overthrow the United States Government.

None of this stuff makes any sense from the outside looking in. Had you asked people two years ago if 500 unarmed people breaking into the Capitol compound to protest election results was an attempt to overthrow the Government, almost nobody would have agreed it was. But give politicians a forum and the ability to use their "words" and their sheep will follow.

They have supported one another through the immediate shock of the day, the impeachment of then-President Trump over his role inciting the mob, the release of haunting videos of the violence, the continuation of the false narrative that Trump won the election and simmering tension between Democrats and the Republicans who continue to perpetuate that myth. With the memory-laden and stress-filled anniversary approaching on Thursday, lawmakers say the Gallery Group is proving to be their go-to lifeline.

“It was a really traumatic experience that at the same time was hyper-personal and hyper-national,” said Jacobs, one of two freshmen in the group who was so new to her job on Jan. 6 — her fourth day in office — that she says she was “hiding under a chair, introducing myself to people.”

“Having other people who went through it was really, really important for me,” she added, “as I was processing what happened and how to think about it and how to maintain resilience around it.”

A bond formed in trauma

When the mob breached the Capitol, the majority of the 435 House members were in their offices in the surrounding buildings, or on the House floor. Capitol Police quickly cleared the House floor and ushered those lawmakers into a safe room. But for the 30 or so lawmakers in the gallery — all Democrats, according to members — there was no such quick rescue.

Trump supporters breached the Capitol last Jan. 6 before 30 or so House Democrats could be safely evacuated from the House gallery.

Rioters had swarmed into the building quickly, before the gallery could be evacuated. The best police could do was to lock the doors and tell lawmakers to hunker down, according to members’ accounts.

As they looked over the balcony’s railing and watched their colleagues being whisked away to safety, they felt trapped. Some contemplated jumping but reconsidered — it was too steep a drop.

They watched police barricade the chamber’s door and hold back the insurgents, who had broken a glass window into the chamber. They heard the mob approaching in the nearby hallways and the gunshot that killed Ashli Babbitt, a rioter who broke through a blocked hallway and was slain by a Capitol Police officer guarding lawmakers. They prayed with Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware and followed Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego’s instructions on how to put on a gas mask.
