USSC shoots down the OSHA mandate on private employers...

Supreme Court Stays OSHA Large Employer Vax Mandate, Upholds CMS Healthworker Mandate

Split verdict. 6-3 against OSHA mandate, with liberals dissenting. 5-4 in favor of CMS mandate, Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Barrett, dissenting.

This was the expected outcome in terms of most prognostications. I am actually a "bit" surprised that the Healthcare mandate only passed muster by 5-4 as the entire court seemed much more in favor of that particular mandate.  There were other factors (such as government money flowing into the health care system) and other Federal oversight to consider in that case that did not exist in the mandate on private industry. Ultimately you had Roberts and Kavanaugh siding with the three liberals to get that to pass.

But politically this is just more proof of how heavy handed and Nazi-like this administration is becoming. The more they lose control the more they counter with wild haymakers coming out of right field. It becomes obvious that they are willing to do things that are pretty much illegal in order to push their preferred policy.

The liberals basically just cried in their dissent about how many people would "die" and ignoring pretty much everything (legally) about the situation. Because as USSC Justices what does the law have to do with anything anyways?  Even for these liberal Justices, it's obvious that politics comes before their sworn duty to uphold the constitution.

The sum total of ALL of Slow Joe's effort to "shut down the virus!" or "stop Covid in its tracks" has been to impose a mandate.

And now he's failed at that.

Don’t forget initially OSHA was going to require employers report adverse effects of the vaxxes and make them pay work comp claims

It's clear that Slow Joe doesn't give a fuck about the virus.

Persecuting and prosecuting Trump supporters as domestic terrorists is Job #1.

Brilliant.

Relieve the drug makers from any and all liability, but demand the government pick up the tab for the fuck-ups.

Most Americans disapprove of President Joe Biden’s handling of the Chinese coronavirus, a Quinnipiac University Poll released Wednesday found.

The survey asked respondents, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Joe Biden is handling – the response to the coronavirus?” Notably, the coronavirus stood as one of Biden’s leading issues heading into the 2020 presidential election.

However, the survey found a majority, 55 percent, disapproving of his handling of the pandemic, compared to 39 percent who approve of his handling. A majority of both Republicans (91 percent) and independents (55 percent) disapprove of his handling of the issue, but 73 percent of Democrats approve.

The Quinnipiac survey, taken January 7-10, 2022, among 1,313 adults, has a margin of error of +/- 2.7 percent.

The souring figures come as coronavirus cases skyrocket across the country, despite Biden’s vow to defeat the virus.

Trump at same time +30%

Double what we have seen under Biden...

But double crap whammy on a stick - Yesterday I sold my options Jan 21 on BBIG just trying to cut my losses after it went up about 20 cents and got stuck for a few hours. I ended up almost breaking even after thinking I was taking almost a total loss (had been down to under 5 cents with just over a week to go).

The damned thing went through the roof last hour of the day yesterday, after hours, and is up now to my strike price. It went up 500% from when I sold out. Not big, big money, but one fucking day or I would have made a healthy profit.

It sucks when you pick a winner and then don't cash in! I bought options on BIGG and SENS. I made a little money on SENS, but man oh man...

The Coming Coup: How Republicans Are Laying the Groundwork to Steal Future ElectionsDemocrats are nearly out of time to stop them.

A week before the ninth anniversary of her son’s murder, Rep. Lucy McBath (D-Ga.) discovered that Republicans had radically redrawn her district to oust her from Congress.

A political novice, McBath had become a leading gun control advocate after her 17-year-old son, Jordan Davis, was shot by a white man in 2012 in an altercation over the volume of rap music he was playing. She went on to stage one of the biggest electoral upsets in Georgia’s recent history when, in 2018, she became the first Black person to represent the state’s 6th District, Newt Gingrich’s home turf for 20 years. Her victory exemplified Democratic inroads in formerly red states like Georgia and the new power being exercised by communities of color in the rapidly diversifying South. But those gains are quickly being erased by the GOP through a toxic combination of gerrymandering, voter suppression, and election subversion that together pose a mortal threat to free and fair elections.

Georgia is a microcosm of the extreme tactics Republicans are using across the country to entrench power in advance of the midterms. What can appear as a series of seemingly disconnected state-level skirmishes is in fact part of an insidious national strategy that goes far beyond previous efforts to suppress and undermine Democratic influence. Fueled by the Big Lie, this effort picks up where last year’s insurrection left off by putting in place the pieces to steal future elections by systematically taking over every aspect of the voting process.

Over the course of 2021, 19 states passed 34 laws making it harder to vote—the greatest rollback of voting access since the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Those changes include more than a dozen GOP-controlled states passing new provisions to interfere with impartial election administration, while Trump and his allies aggressively recruit “Stop the Steal”–inspired candidates to take over key election positions like secretary of state offices and local election boards in major battleground states.

“What we’re seeing is a multifaceted, multilevel attack on American democracy,” says Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, chair of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State.

McBath’s district is a striking case in point: Under a new redistricting map crafted by Georgia Republicans, her diverse suburban Atlanta seat—where moderate white voters joined an influx of Black, Latino, and Asian American residents to elect her—would now stretch all the way to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, with Republicans adding three deeply red and predominantly white counties—Forsyth, Dawson, and Cherokee—where Donald Trump won 70 percent of the vote. (Forsyth is infamous for forcing its more than 1,000 Black residents to leave after a Black man was lynched in 1912.) Her district would go from one that favored Biden by 11 points to one that Trump would have won by 15, one of the most drastic transformations of any district in the country.

No one can cover for Biden's failures.
Not even CNN
"New York(CNN Business)A key inflation measure climbed to a record high in 2021, as pandemic price hikes just aren't going away.

The US producer price index, which tracks what America's producers get paid for their goods and services on average over time, rose 9.7% last year, not adjusted for seasonal swings. It was the biggest calendar-year increase since the data series began in 2010, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics."
