Another problem for Democrats

Crime increased in vulnerable House Democrats' districts
House Democrats in swing districts will have to confront voter concerns about public safety at a time when their party is shouldering the blame for embracing leftist policies that critics say have exacerbated the problem.
Of the seven districts that the Cook Political Report rates as Democratic-controlled "toss-ups," meaning either party could prevail on a relatively level playing field, five have hosted increases in crime. One appears to have seen a decrease, and one, North Carolina's 2nd Congressional District, does not yet have set boundaries due to a legal dispute over redistricting, according to a Washington Examiner analysis.

You name an issue, and Democrats pandering to the far left on that particular issue is going to be causing issues for them in the 2022 election and likely beyond. When it comes to the amazing increase in crime we have seen recently, the Democrats can run but not hide from their defund the police, soft on crime, decisions not to prosecute, everything is racist sort of attitude that they have had over the past few years.

Ironically at the same time that Democrats are losing white voters who are worried about their safety, it appears that they are also losing minorities, whom Democrats believed would have reacted better to these soft on crime, defund the police policies. After all, these policies were designed to pander to these very minorities that seem unimpressed. As crazy as it sounds, it would appear that even black people don't like crime and want a police force and prosecutors who will actually work to defeat crime (not encourage it).

go figure...

The Democrats have understands the problem.

Two years after Democratic officials across the country aligned themselves with protesters demanding the police be reined in and progressives backed the elections of reformist prosecutors, the mayors of many of the nation's largest cities are now reversing course and leading calls for a tougher stance on crime.

Nutter, who is Black, has been on something of a crusade against Philadelphia’s reformist district attorney, Larry Krassner, who is white, after the top prosecutor said at a December news conference that “We don’t have a crisis of lawlessness, we don’t have a crisis of crime, we don’t have a crisis of violence.”

Democrats acknowledge their answers on crime — stopping the flow of illegal guns, addressing poverty, reimagining law enforcement, treating addiction  — are more difficult to convey in a campaign.

But James Carville, the veteran Democratic strategist who in the 1990s helped Bill Clinton overcome concerns that Democrats were “soft on crime,” said the party would be wise to follow the lead of its Black mayors who are responding to their constituents’ concerns.

“If you cede something that your voters in particular encounter every day, then you’ve given up,” he said. “You’ve got to own this or this is going to own you.”

Carville said a “fringe” element in the party had cowed the rest into a fear of talking about crime, but that its influence had waned. He said Democrats had a good case to make by arguing Republicans were the party of cop-beating Jan. 6 insurrectionists and former President Donald Trump’s lawlessness.

Like even Mitch brown is making it clear that he's the most dangerous person in our history.

Republicans have become the roadblock to law enforcement in New York

ALBANY, N.Y. — When Mayor Eric Adams released a wide-ranging plan to tackle crime in New York City, one formidable obstacle became clear: He would need cooperation from all levels of government to attack the root causes of gun violence.

While the mayor oversees the Police Department and city agencies that will implement many of his proposals, some of the most significant portions of his plan hinge on his ability to win over forces outside his control — and signs of resistance are already emerging.

In Albany, Mr. Adams dived into one of the most searing debates in the State Capitol: He asked lawmakers to revise the state’s recently reformed bail law, which has divided Democrats and has been used by Republicans to stoke fears of rising crime.

The mayor called on judges to tackle a growing backlog of gun cases and urged Congress to implement universal background checks and ban assault weapons, legislation that remains in limbo because of Republican opposition.

We already have background checks and my AR is not an assault rifle. The backlog of gun cases exists because the DA refuses to process the cases, plus, the dumb fuck has experienced an exodus from his office. rifles are not the problem, and imposing further burdens on law-abiding gun owners is not the answer.

Democrats are looking to shake off the "defund the police" slogan, moving to be more visibly proactive in addressing rising crime rates even as Republicans seek to tie them back to the 2020 movement ahead of November's midterms.

"Joe Biden and Democrats' soft-on-crime policies have emboldened criminals in Democrat-run cities across the country," said Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel, reacting to Biden's remarks on Thursday. "Americans are less safe because of Democrats' failed leadership, and until Joe Biden condemns dangerous policies and anti-police rhetoric from Democrats like Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, he is complicit in the crime surges across the country."

Polls show the public appetite for reducing police funding has waned. A Pew Research survey released in October found 47 percent of Americans said police spending in their respective communities should be increased, up from 31 percent in June of 2020. The poll also found that support for decreasing police funding dropped from 25 percent in 2020 to 15 percent in October of last year.

Democrats acknowledge their answers on crime — stopping the flow of illegal guns, addressing poverty, reimagining law enforcement, treating addiction  — are more difficult to convey in a campaign.

President Joe Biden and his top health officials have begun intimating a “new normal” is on the horizon.+!!!!!

By MEGAN MESSERLY

02/08/2022 04:37 PM EST

Blue state governors and state health officials who most vigorously embraced pandemic restrictions are pivoting toward a new era, using Omicron’s decline to dial back precautions that have become a hallmark of the last two years.

Health departments from Oregon to Maine have over the last few weeks ended almost all of their government-run Covid-19 contact tracing operations and shifted the responsibility to the public.

At the same time, Democratic governors in the Northeast and West, where case counts are dropping dramatically, are loosening mask policies and preparing residents for the reality that Covid-19 will be around long term.

“We’re not going to manage Covid to zero,” said New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat who has taken a strict approach to pandemic protocols, but who on Monday said he would lift the state’s school mask mandate. “We have to learn how to live with Covid as we move from a pandemic to the endemic phase of this virus."

Governors in Connecticut and Delaware, as well as Oregon’s health department, also announced Monday that students could soon remove their masks. Governors in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York have also signaled forthcoming changes to their mask rules, while California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, announced he is ending the indoor mask mandate next week but keeping masks in classrooms, for now.

These actions, from governors who have been among the most aggressive in pursuing pandemic restrictions, come as President Joe Biden and his top health officials have begun intimating a “new normal” is on the horizon as they prepare for a world where the virus is a present but not a dominant part of people’s lives.

The shift in pandemic policy comes as case counts and hospitalizations have rapidly declined from their peak last month, offering fresh hope that the latest surge is the last. And while Covid-19 is still very much a pandemic — with the country averaging roughly 250,000 new infections and 2,500 deaths each day over the last week — state health officials are increasingly peppering their statements with the e-word.

“We have to look at shifting to treating it more like an endemic illness,” Marshall Vogt, senior epidemiologist in the Virginia Department of Health’s Division of Immunization, told POLITICO. “I don’t think we know that yet for sure, but I think we’re on the cusp of being able to figure that out.”

Vermont Health Commissioner Mark Levine said last week that Omicron has “hastened our pathway to the endemic state.” Colorado has put out a request for proposal seeking the private sector’s help in developing an endemic response plan. And Newsom is expected to unveil an “endemic strategy” for the state after Los Angeles hosts the Super Bowl this weekend, though business groups and others familiar with the discussions don’t yet know exactly what that means.

California to ease Covid rules in path to 'endemic' strategy

But

In Republican-controlled states, where governors have largely resisted mask mandates and economic restrictions, the declining case counts are providing a reason to end the remaining traces of their state’s pandemic response.

Bipartisanship is back temporarily.

Congressional leaders reached an overarching agreement Wednesday to boost military and non-defense budgets, paving the way for a comprehensive deal to fund the government into the fall.

The accord is a crucial breakthrough that’s expected to lead to enactment of a sweeping 12-bill spending bundle in the next few weeks, following months of tense cross-party negotiations. Democrats are seeking to finally override the funding levels carried over from the spending package signed into law in the last weeks of Donald Trump’s presidency, while Republicans are fighting for a military budget far above the less than 2 percent increase President Joe Biden requested.

MR. ZIENTS: Thank you for joining us. I’m Jeff Zients, White House COVID Coordinator. We’ve just completed our weekly call with governors from around the country who — where we provided updated on our efforts to defeat COVID-19.

President Biden has laid out a comprehensive national strategy to tackle this pandemic.

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

The national strategy utilizes all of the powers and resources of the federal government, working closely with state and local leaders, tribal leaders, and those on the frontlines in communities across the country. Central to the strategy is getting all Americans vaccinated as quickly and as equitably as possible.

...

Equity is core to our strategy to put this pandemic behind us, and equity means that we are reaching everyone, particularly those in underserved and rural communities and those who have been hit hardest by this pandemic. But we cannot do this effectively at the federal level without our partners on the state and local level sharing the same commitment to equity. They need to lead this work, as they know their communities better than anyone.

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

...

Each day, we’re making progress in our effort to put this pandemic behind us, we’re giving Americans the facts they need, and we’re working to ensure our response is fair and equitable. And we won’t stop until the job is done.

Fully 70 percent of Americans agreed with the statement that “it’s time we accept Covid is here to stay and we just need to get on with our lives” in a recent poll by Monmouth University. That survey found that support for vaccine mandates has dropped to just 43 percent from 53 percent in September, while support for masking and social distancing guidelines dropped to 52 percent from 63 percent over the same period.

The findings come at a possible turning point in the pandemic, as several Democratic governors announced intentions to ease some mask mandates over the next month. The growing frustration with pandemic restrictions may help explain some of those early announcements — even as cases reach record levels.

The polls create a delicate challenge for the Biden administration, which never regained its political standing since the rise of the Delta variant dashed last summer’s hopes of a return to normalcy. The growing unease with the pandemic seems to have added to the president’s political woes, and may help explain why the public disapproves of Mr. Biden’s handling of the coronavirus for the first time.

But a majority of Democratic-leaning voters continue to support a more vigorous response to the pandemic, potentially limiting how quickly the administration can readjust to public opinion. Many Americans harbor serious concerns about the health risks presented by the virus; the Biden administration may not find it easy to bring them along, at least as long as cases and deaths remain at elevated levels.

Of course it's the Karen democrats who wish to continue to fuck things up for the rest of us. Stay home, lock your doors, wear a dozen masks, hide under your fucking bed and SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Steve Bannon thinks Donald Trump will be among the three worst presidents in American history: new book

Sarah K. Burris

February 09, 2022

Among the vignettes in Jeremy Peters' new book Insurgency is a story about Steve Bannon's revelation that former President Donald Trump didn't actually want to be president.

According to Bannon, it was COVID and George Floyd that convinced him Trump only really wanted the Oval Office when it was fun. Up until 2020, Trump was able to largely let the country run on auto-pilot. Racking up deaths was depressing.

"But Trump’s inattentiveness to the pandemic alarmed Bannon. And his response to George Floyd’s death had him increasingly convinced that Trump had lost his mind," Peters wrote. "He complained to colleagues that Trump didn’t seem interested in his job."

"Being president and doing the job of president are two different things,” Bannon claimed. “He doesn’t want to do the job of president of the United States.

READ: Top Pence aide shocks former colleagues by saying he backs Trump over his one-time boss

There was no way that Trump was going to rise to acclaim as Lincoln or Roosevelt did.

"Instead, Bannon said, Trump would end up going down in history as one of the two or three worst presidents ever: 'It’ll be James Buchanan, Donald Trump, and Millard Fillmore.' Having run Trump’s successful underdog bid four years earlier during its final weeks, Bannon was openly critical of how the new team was running the reelection campaign. 'Trump did not win in 2016. That’s the one thing they never embraced and understood. Hillary Clinton lost. Trump did not win,' he said."

He was annoyed with top Trump aides showing the president fake poll numbers just to make him happy.

"It’s like showing Hitler fake armor divisions when the Reichstag is burning down," Bannon scoffed. And he was correct, that's exactly what they were doing. All of the post-mortem books about Trump's final year convey that the staff was so desperate to get the president to stop falling into a fit of rage. That included the Vice president Pence. A true American hero!

View as PDF:  National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin - February 07, 2022 02:00 pm (pdf, 2 pages, 1.86 MB)

Summary of Terrorism Threat to the U.S. Homeland

The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors. These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence. Mass casualty attacks and other acts of targeted violence conducted by lone offenders and small groups acting in furtherance of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances pose an ongoing threat to the nation. While the conditions underlying the heightened threat landscape have not significantly changed over the last year, the convergence of the following factors has increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the threat environment: (1) the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions; (2) continued calls for violence directed at U.S. critical infrastructure; soft targets and mass gatherings; faith-based institutions, such as churches, synagogues, and mosques; institutions of higher education; racial and religious minorities; government facilities and personnel, including law enforcement and the military; the media; and perceived ideological opponents; and (3) calls by foreign terrorist organizations for attacks on the United States based on recent events.

DurationIssued:   February 07, 2022 02:00 pm
Expires:   June 07, 2022 02:00 pm

Additional Details

The primary terrorism-related threat to the United States continues to stem from lone offenders or small cells of individuals who are motivated by a range of foreign and/or domestic grievances often cultivated through the consumption of certain online content. The convergence of violent extremist ideologies, false or misleading narratives, and conspiracy theories have and will continue to contribute to a heightened threat of violence in the United States.

Key factors contributing to the current heightened threat environment include:The proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions:For example, there is widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19. Grievances associated with these themes inspired violent extremist attacks during 2021.Malign foreign powers have and continue to amplify these false or misleading narratives in efforts to damage the United States.Continued calls for violence directed at U.S. critical infrastructure; soft targets and mass gatherings; faith-based institutions, such as churches, synagogues, and mosques; institutions of higher education; racial and religious minorities; government facilities and personnel, including law enforcement and the military; the media; and perceived ideological opponents:

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Foreign terrorist organizations like the Russians domestic threat actors continue to amplify pre-existing false or misleading narratives online to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions. Some of these actors do so to encourage unrest, which could lead to acts of violence against the facilities, individuals, institutions, and organizations cited above.Violent extremists inspired by a range of grievances and ideologies continue to target crowded venues traditionally perceived to be soft targets, such as commercial and publicly accessible facilities, public gatherings, certain government and state facilities, and houses of worship. The recent attack on a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas highlights the continuing threat of violence based upon racial or religious motivations, as well as threats against faith-based organizations.Threats directed at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other colleges and universities, Jewish facilities, and churches cause concern and may inspire extremist threat actors to mobilize to violence. As COVID-19 restrictions continue to decrease nationwide, increased access to commercial and government facilities and the rising number of mass gatherings could provide increased opportunities for individuals looking to commit acts of violence to do so, often with little or no warning. Meanwhile, COVID-19 mitigation measures—particularly COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates—have been used by domestic violent extremists to justify violence since 2020 and could continue to inspire these extremists to target government, healthcare, and academic institutions that they associate with those measures.

Grievances associated with these themes inspired violent extremist attacks during 2021.Malign foreign powers have and continue to amplify these false or misleading narratives in efforts to damage the United States.Continued calls for violence directed at U.S. critical infrastructure; soft targets and mass gatherings; faith-based institutions, such as churches, synagogues, and mosques; institutions of higher education; racial and religious minorities; government facilities and personnel, including law enforcement and the military; the media; and perceived ideological opponents:Foreign terrorist organizations and domestic threat actors continue to amplify pre-existing false or misleading narratives online to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions. Meanwhile, COVID-19 mitigation measures—particularly COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates—have been used by domestic violent extremists to justify violence since 2020 and could continue to inspire these extremists to target government, healthcare, and academic institutions that they associate with those measures.Domestic violent extremists have also viewed attacks against U.S. critical infrastructure as a means to create chaos and advance ideological goals, and have recently aspired to disrupt U.S. electric and communications critical infrastructure, including by spreading false or misleading narratives about 5G cellular technology. Some domestic violent extremists have continued to advocate for violence in response to false or misleading narratives about unsubstantiated election fraud. The months preceding the upcoming 2022 midterm elections could provide additional opportunities for these extremists and other individuals to call for violence directed at democratic institutions, political candidates, party offices, election events, and election workers.A small number of threat actors are attempting to use the evacuation and resettlement of Afghan nationals following the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan last year as a means to exacerbate long-standing grievances and justify attacks against immigrants.Calls by foreign terrorist organizations for attacks on the United States based on recent events:Foreign terrorist organizations will likely continue to maintain a highly visible online presence to attempt to inspire U.S.-based individuals to engage in violent activity.Supporters of foreign terrorist organizations have encouraged copycat attacks following the January 15, 2022 attack on a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas.

Foreign terrorists remain intent on targeting the United States and U.S. persons, and may seek to capitalize on the evolving security environment overseas to plot attacks. The Islamic State of Iraq and ash-Sham (ISIS) or its affiliates may issue public calls for retaliation due to the strike that recently killed ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi.

How We Are Responding

DHS and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) continue to share timely and actionable information and intelligence with the broadest audience possible. This includes sharing information and intelligence with our partners across every level of government and in the private sector. We conduct recurring threat briefings with private sector and state, local, tribal, territorial, and campus partners, including to inform security planning efforts. DHS remains committed to working with our partners to identify and prevent all forms of terrorism and targeted violence, and to support law enforcement efforts to keep our communities safe.DHS’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis established a new, dedicated domestic terrorism branch to produce the sound, timely intelligence needed to counter related threats. The Department expanded its evaluation of online activity as part of its efforts to assess and prevent acts of violence, while ensuring the protection of privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties.DHS’s Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) provides communities with resources and tools to help prevent individuals from radicalizing to violence. In 2021, CP3 awarded about $20 million in grants through its Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program. CP3 also partners with local communities to raise awareness about how to prevent violence.

In 2021, DHS designated domestic violent extremism as a “National Priority Area” within its Homeland Security Grant Program HSGP), resulting in at least $77 million being spent on preventing, preparing for, protecting against, and responding to related threats. In 2021, DHS’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) provided $180 million in funding to support target hardening and other physical security enhancements to non-profit organizations at high risk of terrorist attack.DHS is working with public and private sector partners, as well as foreign counterparts, to identify and evaluate MDM, including false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories spread on social media and other online platforms that endorse or could inspire violence.

DHS’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) works with public and private sector partners – including U.S. critical infrastructure owners and operators – to mitigate risk against our cyber and physical infrastructure and increase nationwide cybersecurity resilience.

They were not coming to get you.

Last week the White House did a weird proactive talking point seminar on Monday, preparing the media for official unemployment data which would follow four days later. {Go Deep} Everything about the new econ talking points, added to the press briefing book, indicates the White House knows it’s the economic policy that is the most politically damaging for them.

Today, the same proactive approach to head off negative economic consequences is evident, this time regarding inflation. Tomorrow, the official Bureau of Labor and Statistics inflation numbers will be released for January and for 2021 in total. The White House has been again tipped-off.

Watch how Jen Psaki attempts to proactively establish the talking point about the month-over-month rate of inflation change as the important element to focus on. If you’ve read the previous post, you can clearly see what they are doing now. Also, this is entirely scripted and coordinated with the press pool to ask a very specific question. WATCH, prompted:

So the funny thing about the "Trump destroying documents" story is the direction it comes from. It's not anyone in record keeping somewhere is suggesting that there are missing records...

It's that certain people claim they saw the President rip up documents that were supposed to apparently be turned over the recordkeeping. Of course, they couldn't tell you what was actually on the documents or what was being hidden by the destruction.

Just that we are supposed to picture the President of the United States angrily ripping up pieces of paper like some sort of small child. Something that people with TDS will have no problem believing, but something that makes the rest of us go hmmmmm....

Like what sort of documents in 2016-2020 are still created, handled, and stored in physical form anymore to begin with. Wouldn't 99.99% of the Presidential documents be electronic these days?

Even if someone printed them out... wouldn't they be still in electronic form somewhere? Are these conspiracy theorists suggesting people in the White House are using typewriters or handwriting documents for the President and then putting them in a file cabinet somewhere?

I mean seriously people... get a clue!

The big story tomorrow will be what the new Consumer Price Index figures show. The consensus is that, in January, inflation rose another .4%. That would mean we are running at an annual rate of 7.2%. If you exclude food and energy from the inflation rate, it would be about 5.9% — but why would you exclude those two big components when trying to figure out how much it takes for people to get through the month?

For a peek of what could be in this week’s numbers, the National Federation of Independent Business just released a survey of small businesses and found that 61% increased prices at the beginning of the new year. MarketWatch says that is “the highest percentage since 1974.”

Market survey company KPMG recently said “groceries may cost 14% more this year.” That would mean “a 22% increase in their grocery bill compared to pre-COVID-19 prices.”

The higher prices are, in part, driven by the higher wages that small businesses say they have to pay these days. The report says:

“More small business owners started the New Year raising prices in an attempt to pass on higher inventory, supplies, and labor costs,” said NFIB Chief Economist Bill Dunkelberg. “In addition to inflation issues, owners are also raising compensation at record high rates to attract qualified employees to their open positions.”

Key findings include:

One of the Index components improved, seven declined, and two were unchanged.

Owners expecting better business conditions over the next six months increased two points to a net negative 33%. Small business owners remain pessimistic about future economic conditions as this indicator has declined 13 points over the past six months.

Forty-seven percent of owners reported job openings that could not be filled, a decrease of two points from December.

Inventory accumulation plans fell five percentage points.

As reported in NFIB’s monthly jobs report, a net 50% (seasonally adjusted) reported raising compensation, a 48-year record high reading.
A net 27% plan to raise compensation in the next three months. Eleven percent of owners cited labor costs as their top business problem and 23% said that labor quality was their top business problem.

Same here. And I grow about 500lbs. of Roma tomatoes for sauce. Each batch gets a few fresh basil leaves just like they do it in the old country. Going to add more raised beds this spring. The way things are going with Captain Fuckstick in the white house, we should all be as self-sufficient as possible for the next few years. This fucking idiot is just getting started with his wreckage.

We have to get our renovation done so I can get a chest freezer in our crawl space/basement. Brandon has seen that price significantly…..

Our tax dollars at work:

Which skin color emoji should you use? The answer can be more complex than you think

Heath Racela identifies as three-quarters white and one-quarter Filipino. When texting, he chooses a yellow emoji instead of a skin tone option, because he feels it doesn't represent any specific ethnicity or color.

He doesn't want people to view his texts in a particular way. He wants to go with what he sees as the neutral option and focus on the message.

"I present as very pale, very light skinned. And if I use the white emoji, I feel like I'm betraying the part of myself that's Filipino," Racela, of Littleton, Mass., said. "But if I use a darker color emoji, which maybe more closely matches what I see when I look at my whole family, it's not what the world sees, and people tend to judge that."

In 2015, five skin tone options became available for hand gesture emojis, in addition to the default Simpsons-like yellow. Choosing one can be a simple texting shortcut for some, but for others it opens a complex conversation about race and identity.

"I use the brown one that matches me," said Sarai Cole, an opera singer in Germany. "I have some friends who use the brown ones, too, but they are not brown themselves. This confuses me."

Cole is originally from California and identifies as Black and an American Descendant of Slavery. She said that while she was not offended when a non-brown friend used a dark emoji, she would like to understand why.

"I think it would be nice if it is their default, but if they're just using it with me or other brown people, I would want to look into that deeper and know why they're doing that," she said.

Jennifer Epperson, from Houston, identifies as Black and said she changed her approach depending on who she was talking to.

"I use the default emoji, the yellow-toned one for professional settings, and then I use the dark brown emoji for friends and family," she said. "I just don't have the emotional capacity to unpack race relations in the professional setting."

Is the yellow emoji really neutral?

Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Munich, Germany, later this month for a security conference meant to boost Ukraine against the backdrop of a potential invasion by Russia.

The veep’s appearance at the Munich Security Conference, scheduled to take place Feb. 18-20, “will demonstrate our ironclad commitment to our NATO Allies, reaffirm our shared interest in upholding the principles that have underpinned European peace and security since World War II, and underscore our commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the White House said in a statement.

The House vote came a day after the state Senate also voted to override Kelly's veto."
