To what degree has the CDC been dishonest in this whole deal?

CDC Is Sandbagging COVID Data That Contradicts Their Statements Because They Are Afraid Of Free People Interpreting It

For more than a year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has collected data on hospitalizations for Covid-19 in the United States and broken it down by age, race and vaccination status. But it has not made most of the information public. When the C.D.C. published the first significant data on the effectiveness of boosters in adults younger than 65 two weeks ago, it left out the numbers for a huge portion of that population: 18- to 49-year-olds, the group least likely to benefit from extra shots, because the first two doses already left them well-protected.

Much of the withheld information could help state and local health officials better target their efforts to bring the virus under control. Detailed, timely data on hospitalizations by age and race would help health officials identify and help the populations at highest risk. Information on hospitalizations and death by age and vaccination status would have helped inform whether healthy adults needed booster shots.

One thing that I can tell you about the CDC data is that it became more and more difficult to find and the details became thinner and thinner. They also would occasionally just change an age group definition and still use different age groups for different statistical analysis, making it nearly impossible to use the data to correlate between different things. 

Now we are being told that not only were they making it difficult to follow the data that they did provide, but that they were actually withholding data that they felt could be interpreted to undermine their recommendations. More recently the CDC was caught blatantly cherry picking a two week period (from several months) to make it appear that certain restrictions were more helpful (when the overall statistics suggested it wasn't). Apparently they must of thought that nobody would be able to find this chart and look at the entire thing? 

It's one thing being wrong about something like this. There is no shame in not getting every call on a worldwide pandemic correct. But it's quite another when you will not admit when you are wrong, when you hide data that shows you are wrong, or you manipulate other data in an attempt to justify your decisions. But of course, this is what happens when you put politics ahead of science, which is exactly what the CDC under the direction of the Biden Administration has been and apparently still is doing.
