998,083 Covid deaths in the United States...

Still seeing almost 800 people per day dead...

With Russia/Ukraine war, $5.00/gallon gas prices, and an inability to find basic necessities at the grocery store leading the headlines, we have apparently forgotten that people are still dying left and right from Covid. At the current pace, WordoMeter will have put the United States over the one million dead mark by the Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. Apparently President "Stop Covid in it's tracks" was really President "let a ton of people die, but work hard to change the subject".

EU Support Grows for Russia Oil Ban
March 21, 2022 at 4:55
“Support for a European Union-wide ban on the purchase of Russian oil is growing inside the bloc, according to diplomats involved in the discussion, representing a significant shift in the continent’s stance toward how to ratchet up economic pressure on Moscow,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

“Agreement on any EU ban of Russian crude is far from locked in yet, and a rapid decision to move ahead isn’t likely.”

EU and Americans would not be in an Energy pinch IF the EU would had listen to Trump and Biden would not have attacked US Oil production.

Nice to see European leaders standing up on their own and coordinating as European leaders. God knows they have no leadership from us. Just a wrinkly old man who wants to "lead from behind".

Holocaust survivor, 96, killed in Ukraine after Russian forces shell apartment
NBC Universal
March 21, 2022, 7:16 PM

A Holocaust survivor was killed in Ukraine when Russian forces shelled his apartment building in the eastern city of Kharkiv, a memorial foundation said Monday.

Boris Romanchenko, 96, survived several Nazi concentration camps, but died Friday after the attack burned his building, the Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora Memorials Foundation said.

Romanchenko had served on a committee for Holocaust survivors, the group said.

Romanchenko, who was born in northeastern Ukraine, was deported to Dortmund, Germany, in 1942, the organization said. After a failed escape, he was sent to four camps — Buchenwald, Peenemünde, Mittelbau and Bergen-Belsen.

More than 100,000 people combined were killed in Buchenwald and Bergen-Belsen.

"We mourn the loss of a close friend," the foundation said. "We wish his son and granddaughter, who gave us the sad news, a lot of strength in these difficult times."

The group added that Romanchenko's death illustrated the threat posed to other Holocaust survivors living in Ukraine. According to the non-profit Jewish United Fund, there are an estimated 10,000, many of them homebound.

The memorial, along with dozens of other similar groups, has helped organize food and medicine drives for survivors, as well as pick-ups from the Ukrainian border and accommodations elsewhere in Europe.

A network of Jewish and non-Jewish grassroots groups have been trying to help survivors flee the war-ravaged country.

Recent images of Kharkiv published by The New York Times show the devastation the city of 1.4 million has endured since Russia's invasion began last month, including the destruction of residential buildings, a regional administrative office and a university.

The city's emergency services office said that 500 people were confirmed dead, though as rescue workers dig through rubble that number will likely grow, The Times reported.

Remember how they were telling us that Hispanics were deserting the Democrats?

Well....

Hispanic Voters Aren’t Flocking to the GOP

“Heading into the 2022 midterm elections, Republicans have been riding a wave of positive press about their gains among Hispanic voters as Democrats fret about hemorrhaging support from the fast-growing demographic,”
NBC News reports.

“But while Democrats clearly have a problem, the GOP’s growing support among Latinos is less dramatic than some headlines suggest, according to a new poll conducted by a top Latino Democratic pollster and underwritten by a conservative Spanish-language network.”

“About 48 percent of Hispanics nationwide consider themselves Democrats,
and only 23 percent identify as Republican, the poll found.”

Biden in Charge of New World Order.

"we’ve established a liberal world order"

"“Now is the time when things are shifting, there’s going to be a new world order out there, we’ve got to lead it,"

The "WE" Joe is talking about is him-business, not "WE the People"

Apparently not -

ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) - Atlanta police are looking for the man who shot and killed a 31-year-old woman after what they say was a dispute over a bowling ball.

It happened at Metro Fun Center along Metropolitan Parkway in southwest Atlanta. Investigators tell CBS46 the woman, later identified as LaKevia Jackson, appeared to be attending a celebration at the bowling ally and that at some point in the evening she got into a fight that escalated into gunfire.

CBS46 spoke with Jackson’s mother who said LaKevia was attending her best friend’s birthday party and was apparently shot as she was leaving the bowling alley.

...

It has been confirmed that Jackson had a child with local Atlanta rapper, Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams.

The problem is cultural and deeply ingrained within the black community. Enacting dozens, even hundreds of new gun laws only inconveniences the law abiding. It does absolutely nothing to prevent this shit.

But that, I suppose, is the point.

Reuters shows that the President is going extraordinary well.

March 22 (Reuters) - About one-in-three COVID-19 cases in the United States are now caused by the BA.2 Omicron sub-variant of the coronavirus, according to government data on Tuesday that also showed overall infections still declining from January's record highs.

Despite the rise of the extremely contagious sub-variant also seen in other countries, U.S. health experts say a major wave of new infections here appears unlikely.

U.S. COVID-19 infections have receded sharply since January, although a resurgence in parts of Asia and Europe have raised concerns that one will follow in the United States given previous patterns during the two years of the pandemic.

In the Northeast, including New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts, Omicron BA.2 now makes up more than half the cases, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

It accounted for 35% of U.S. infections for the week ending March 19, CDC said. That compares with 22.3% for the week ending March 12, which was revised down from 23.1%, according to a CDC model that estimates proportions of circulating variants.

Daniel Kuritzkes, chief of division of infectious diseases at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital, said there was no evidence yet that the rise of BA.2 is pointing to an increase in cases.

"I think the one concern and where people need to remain vigilant is that as we have relaxed many restrictions around masking and gathering, there is a potential opportunity for BA.2 or any variant to gain a foothold," Kuritzkes said.

The sub-variant is more transmissible than the Omicron BA.1 variant that caused the massive winter surge, the World Health Organization (WHO) has said. It does not appear to cause more severe disease, however, and early data showed that infection with BA.1 offers strong protection against reinfection with BA.2, the WHO said.

As of March 19, the seven-day moving average of U.S. COVID-19 cases was 27,747, down nearly 18% from a week earlier.

Most of the country is considered to be in low COVID transmission, according to new CDC guidelines introduced last month that emphasized hospital capacity over case counts. And most people ware advised they no longer need to wear masks indoors
