Why is the NY Times suddenly reporting the Hunter Biden corruption probe with such zeal? One would start to speculate that the word has gone out from somewhere that the Hunter Biden lever might be useful in prying President Biden from office before he dooms Democrats in 2024. (here is what the Times wrote)
People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity. Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.
So all of those twitter and facebook bans on the "disinformation" regarding Hunter Biden's laptop were actually not only completely unwarranted, but it appears that they knew that they were banning a perfectly legitimate story. Why? Well to help Joe Biden of course. What does the truth matter, when an election against the "bad orange man" is at stake.
Now the Time is stepping out and admitting that the Biden laptop story was not disinformation, that the laptop was actually legitimately Hunter's and that the incriminating emails (that involve references to the President in the schemes) are also real. Under normal circumstances Hunter Biden would have likely faced charges by now. But given his dad is President and could literally be pulled into this mess, the DOJ is slow dancing this one.
Why is the NYT suddenly having a rare case of honestly regarding this particular story? Obviously a big Hunter Biden scandal could destroy a vulnerable President, especially given the repeated degree of denial from the President on this issue. This not only looks like a father son scandal, but it looks like a major coverup and major abuse of power.
Is it possible that the Times and other media outlets know that running Biden in 2024 is a sure loser and that maybe getting him out sooner rather than later might be the best case scenario for Democrats. It's a possibility and might just be the best explanation for this.

Is there hope for a diplomatic end to the war in Ukraine?
Mike Bebrernes
March 17, 2022, 8:27 AM
“The 360” shows you diverse perspectives on the day’s top stories and debates.
What’s happening
Representatives from both Ukraine and Russia have recently expressed optimism about progress made in potential peace talks after three weeks of war.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the two sides were “close to an agreement,” while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia’s demands were becoming “more realistic.”
Their hopeful language stands in stark contrast to the situation on the ground, which has featured relentless Russian assaults on Ukrainian cities even as its ground troops have struggled to advance.
Several European leaders have been involved in brokering negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Although the United States has supplied Ukraine with military support and spearheaded sanctions on the Russian economy, the Biden administration reportedly has no plans to become directly involved in the talks.
Zelensky on Tuesday said Ukraine may be willing to drop its longstanding goal of becoming a full member of NATO, an apparent concession to one of Russia’s top demands. A Kremlin spokesperson said last week that the war could “be stopped in a moment” if Ukraine agreed to stay out of the military alliance, to acknowledge Crimea — the Black Sea peninsula that Russia invaded and annexed in 2014 — as official Russian territory, and also to recognize the independence of two Russian-backed breakaway republics in eastern Ukraine. For its part, Ukraine is seeking a ceasefire, the maintenance of its democratic government, the full withdrawal of Russian troops and security guarantees from Western allies.
Why there’s debate
Whatever steps may have been made toward a ceasefire, there’s still an enormous amount of skepticism that diplomacy can really bring the war to an end anytime soon. “There is very little point of spending the diplomatic capital, I'd say, on efforts that from the other side are designed to be a failure,” Estonia’s ambassador to the U.S. told CNN last week.
Joe said he has friends that have nude pictures on line
Pessimists generally argue that Russian President Vladimir Putin has far too much on the line — his legacy, his ability to hold onto power, perhaps even his life — to accept anything other than total victory over Ukraine. They say Putin’s past behavior, including his bombing campaign in Chechnya in the early 1990s and more recent tactics in Syria’s civil war, show that he is more than willing to endure a prolonged and brutal assault rather than concede ground to his enemies.
But optimists hope that the combined pressures of crippling sanctions and frustrating military failures might convince Putin to end the invasion if given a face-saving opportunity. “You bet that I have to believe it’s still possible,” Rep. Andy Kim, D-N.J., a former diplomat, told Foreign Policy. “Otherwise, then we’re saying it’s only going to be on the battlefield … that this will end.”
Even the most hopeful observers say ending the war is likely to mean acceding to some of Russia’s demands, but they argue that a distasteful compromise is a much better outcome than an unending conflict that could decimate Ukraine or escalate into a larger global war.
What’s next
President Biden is scheduled to travel to Europe next week for a NATO summit, but it’s unclear whether he plans to play a larger hand in negotiations while he’s there. Ukraine’s chief negotiator has said that any peace agreement would have to be finalized through direct talks between Zelensky and Putin, but Moscow doesn't seem as eager for such a meeting to happen.
Perspectives
Optimists
The path to a diplomatic solution is narrow, but not blocked entirely
“The question for Western leaders is how to ensure Putin is defeated while nevertheless providing him with a route out of the crisis and avoiding any missteps that could lead to a wider conflagration. The path along the cliff edge is precarious.” — Tom McTague, Atlantic
It’s important to keep laying the groundwork for an eventual end of the war
“The West must continue to work diplomatic channels. Moscow has indicated no serious intent to negotiate, and as a result, the United States has seen little point in trying to talk. But while the prospect of a ceasefire in the short-term may seem remote, there will come a point where Putin needs an off-ramp. The West can keep applying pressure on Putin while showing him that a negotiated peace is there for the taking.” — Editorial, Irish Times
Good-faith negotiations are needed to create pressure on Putin at home
“An original goal of these sanctions was to persuade Moscow to change course. To accomplish that, the United States needs to offer Russians the prospect of at least some sanctions relief if they withdraw their forces. That kind of offer isn’t likely to change Putin’s mind, but it could help increase pressure on him from his military and his oligarchs, as well as the Russian public.” — Doyle McManus, Los Angeles Times
However far-fetched, every possible path to ending the war must be pursued
“The Russo-Ukrainian war has lasted longer than anyone expected and could go on even longer. But the price that Ukrainians are paying, and will continue to pay as the war drags on, will become increasingly untenable — as, over time, will that of Russia. Washington must leave no stone unturned, not merely to buttress Ukraine’s ability to keep fighting but also to develop a formula that leads to the war’s termination.” — Dov S. Zakheim, The Hill
__________
Skeptics
Putin won’t accept anything other than total victory, no matter the cost
“How can Putin make it any clearer to those Western diplomats who are so convinced that some set of incentives and concessions will convince him to halt the fighting? He doesn’t want an ‘off ramp.’ He isn’t looking for a way to end this war. He just wants to win this war, and he doesn’t care how much he and everyone else has to pay in blood and treasure to achieve his victory.” — Jim Geraghty, National Review
It would be foolish to trust Putin to stick to the terms of a peace agreement
“There are two mistakes we can make about figures like Mr. Putin. One is to underestimate their talent for troublemaking if they don’t get what they want. The other is to believe that by giving in to their demands we can quiet them down. The West has made both mistakes with Mr. Putin in the past. We must try to do better now.” — Walter Russell Mead, Wall Street Journal
Men like Putin don’t compromise
“When you get into this state and you’re obsessed with fantasies of grandeur … you lash out and there isn’t much of an offramp also because autocrats don’t negotiate. They do deals with other autocrats.” — Ruth Ben-Ghiat, historian, to MSNBC
The West must not concede to any of Russia’s demands
“[A compromise] would be ill-advised. It would mean that Putin benefits from his murderous rampage. It would signal that war crimes will go unpunished, and that the West will not stand firm against nations waging war on innocents and against democracy. It would thus invite, not deter, more wars waged by more malevolent nations that are willing to endure short-term pain in hopes of Putin-like territorial and strategic gains.” — Quin Hillyer, Washington Examiner
All of Putin’s actions suggest he’s committed to ending the war on the battlefield
“Putin committed the largest military offensive in Europe since 1945, and he’s unlikely to admit defeat just a week or two into a campaign that he can still hope his better-equipped forces will win. The grim news for Ukrainians is that he’s been doubling down, pounding their cities and raising the alert status of his nuclear forces in the biggest gamble, by far, of his decades in the Kremlin.” — Marc Champion, Bloomberg
Putin has too much at stake to walk away from the fight
“For Putin, I think it’s very difficult to withdraw with nothing — from a regime survival perspective — otherwise, he would be admitting defeat. My suspicion and my fear is that what we’ll see is the use of more indiscriminate violence to make the Ukrainians decide that the losses aren’t worth it.” — Dmitry Gorenburg, Russian politics expert, to NBC News

Russia warns United States: we havehe might to put you in your place
March 17, 2022, 2:47 AM·1 min read
LONDON (Reuters) -Russia warned the United States on Thursday that Moscow had the might to put the world's pre-eminent superpower in its place and accused the West of stoking a wild Russophobic plot to tear Russia apart.
Dmitry Medvedev, who served as president from 2008 to 2012 and is now deputy secretary of Russia's Security Council, said the United States had stoked "disgusting" Russophobia in an attempt to force Russia to its knees.
"It will not work - Russia has the might to put all of our brash enemies in their place," Medvedev said.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, the United States and its European and Asian allies have slapped sanctions on Russian leaders, companies and businessmen, cutting off Russia from much of the world economy.
President Vladimir Putin says that what he calls the special military operation in Ukraine was necessary because the United States was using Ukraine to threaten Russia and Russia had to defend against the "genocide" of Russian-speaking people by Ukraine.
Ukraine says it is fighting for its existence and that Putin's claims of genocide are nonsense. The West says claims it wants to rip Russia apart are fiction.

Putin Said to Have Food Tasters
March 17, 2022 at 12:59 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard
Daily Beast contributing editor Craig Copetas
told Inside Edition
that he’s been told that Russian president Vladimir Putin has people tasting his food before he eats it and that last month, he replaced his entire personal staff of 1,000 people.
IF THIS IS TRUE, THE NUT CASE IS SCARED TO DEATH.
THEY SHOULD GIVE HIM A PISTOL AND PUT HIM IN A BUNKER.
BETTER YET, SOMEONE SHOULD JUST UNLOAD THE CONTENTS OF A PISTOL INTO HIM.
Scott, as he watched the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, Vladimir Putin probably thought that the United States, was being lead by President Biden, who he believed, just the same way that you do, he was too weak to unite the world to stop the capture of Ukraine.
Putin was wrong. And so are you.
Most of the world has been united in opposition to the Russian invasion. Even the Republicans have been supportive of the President and Ukraine. The President has lead our allies in reconstruction of NATO forces in response to the attacks
Eventually Putin will not survive.
And in history we will see the greatest generation of the 21st century will prevail.
And President Biden is doing exactly what the President is supposed to do.
Protect us from enemies, both foriegn and domestic .
US Commodity prices have gone up 75% to 400 %.
Putin was wrong. And so are you.
That's far from being proven, if it can be proved at all.

And President Biden is doing exactly what the President is supposed to do.
Yeah, falling down the fucking stairs, mumbling incoherently about porn, and shitting his drawers in front of the Pope.
"The Greatest President Of All Time.!!!11!"
Putin laughs at him, the whole fucking WORLD laughs at him. And it's gotten so bad that even the scumbag Marxist leftists at the NY Times have decided it's time to take him out.
So we're left with a clueless whore committed to - "Doing the same thing every day, just like she's been doing every day, and she's going to keep doing the same thing every day, until she's done doing the same thing every day, so she can start all over doing the same thing every day, every day"
No, Joe , that is just you , perv.

Most Republicans denounce Putin’s war on facts, but are silent on the one at home
John L. Micek, Pennsylvania Capital-Star
There’s a lot that’s terrible about Russian strongman Vladimir Putin’s brutal attempt to erase Ukraine from the map of Europe.
From the incalculable humanitarian disaster that has seen millions of Ukrainians flee their home country, to the appalling carnage on the streets of Mariupol that was devastatingly humanized with the death of a pregnant woman and her unborn baby, the costs of Putin’s unjustified war of conquest will be with us for decades to come.
But the truth also has become collateral damage these last weeks, as Putin has twisted language beyond meaning to justify his atrocities. Russian officials and conspiracy theorists have, for instance, promoted the baseless claim that the attack on the maternity hospital in Mariupol was “staged,” USA Today reported.
This week, Russian television news producer Marina Ovsyannikova was detained and fined for interrupting a broadcast, and accurately describing Putin’s action for what it is: A war. She could be imprisoned for saying what’s obvious to the entire planet.
Republicans are suddenly realizing that democracy is worth defending, have stepped up to denounce Putin and defend the same democratic institutions they tried to undermine on Jan. 6.
Speaking at a closed-door fundraiser last week, former Vice President Mike Pence said there was “no room” in the GOP for “Putin apologists,” NBC News reported. And while he didn’t mention his old boss, former President Donald Trump, by name, it was hard to escape who he was was talking about, NBC News noted.
Trump has yet to explicitly condemn Putin, saying at a recent rally in South Carolina that Putin “happens to be a man that is just driven, he’s driven to put it together,”
But by failing to step up to denounce Trump, and by failing to condemn the violence perpetrated at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, Republicans are abetting the same war on truth at home that they’re rightfully slamming Putin for conducting abroad.
And with their silence, they are allowing a pernicious rewriting of history to take root.
Trump will go down in history as the biggest mistake in history.
RRB, what in the fuck was Joe attempting to say ?
The lack of quality of comment in opposition to what Roger and I are saying is striking.
If I were among the GOP supporters here, I would wish rrb and KansDim would shut up and stop embarrassing us.
But I just LOVE for them to keep up their gibberish.
Rat, do you suppose Putin is "laughing" at Biden while he worries about whether some of his own people may be trying to get him [Putin] poisoned?
Four friends who drove from Missouri to Washington together and entered the Capitol through a broken window on Jan. 6 have been sentenced to probation.
Kari Kelley, 41, Zachary Hayes Martin, 45, Stephen Brian Quick, 49, and Michael Aaron Quick, 44, drove from Missouri to Washington on Jan. 5 with plans to attend Donald Trump‘s so-called “Stop the Steal” rally the next day.
Prosecutors say that Kelley raised $130 in donations through a GoFundMe page. Kelley had enthusiastically posted the group’s progress to Facebook, including a screenshot of a map showing their location as they approached the D.C. area.
She also posted a grinning group selfie to Facebook before they set out the following morning.
“Good morning America,” Kelley posted to social media shortly after 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 6. “[W]e are leaving our room and headed to the action.”
After the rally, like so many others, Kelley, Martin, and the Quick brothers headed to the Capitol and joined the mob of Trump supporters who were looking to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s win in the 2020 presidential election. They entered the building through a broken window, with Kelley going first and motioning for her three friends to follow her.
They pleaded guilty in December to a single count of parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail.
Prosecutors had asked for 30 days behind bars for Kelley and Martin, three months of home detention for Michael Quick, and two months of home detention for Stephen Quick, all followed by 36 months of probation.
U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich sentenced Kelley and Martin to 36 months of probation each on Thursday. The Quick brothers were each sentenced to two years of probation.
Friedrich, a Trump appointee, signaled early on that she wasn’t going to send anyone to jail, doubling down on her previously-stated conclusion that federal sentencing laws don’t allow her to issue “split sentences” of jail and probation in petty offense cases.
Senior U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth, a Ronald Reagan appointee, recently reached the opposite conclusion in a Jan. 6 misdemeanor case. The government has also taken the position that split sentences are allowed.
“I disagree with his reading of the language in the relevant statute,” Friedrich said. “I don’t think I can do both.”
Friedrich said that in cases like these, absent “aggravating factors” such as engaging in physical violence or causing property damage, she believed that a longer term of supervision “better serves the goals of sentencing.”
“You’ve lost that battle in other cases,” Friedrich told Assistant U.S. Attorney Jack Korba. “Right now we’re looking at what are the appropriate conditions [for probation].”
Kelley, Martin, and Michael Quick were ordered to undergo a mental health assessment and treatment if necessary. Martin and both Quick brothers were ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and complete 60 hours of community service within one year.
All defendants will have to pay $500 in restitution toward the estimated $1.5 million damage to the Capitol.
Friedrich also noted the fact that all four defendants had willingly spoken with the House committee investigating the events of Jan. 6.

Swedish farmers may be forced to reduce their harvests by as much as half due to a shortage of manure and fertilizers caused by the conflict in Ukraine and associated sanctions war.
Sweden, which is highly dependent on the import of manure since production all but ceased in the 2000s, could be facing major agricultural issues due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, as Sweden imports between 15 to 20 per cent of its manure from Russia".
Food production is dropping around the world.
President Biden escalated his criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, a day after calling Putin a “war criminal” as Russia continues its unprovoked war on Ukraine.
During the annual Friends of Ireland Lunch in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, the President once again strongly condemned Russia’s invasion.
The President said that Ireland, the United Kingdom and other republics are taking a stand against a “murderous dictator.”
“A pure thug who is waging an immoral war against the people of Ukraine,” Biden said, referring to Putin.
Biden added that Ireland is “paying a big price” with its support of sanctions against Russia, stressing that the republic is making a “significant” contribution as it works with the U.S. and other countries on the United Nations Security Council.
The President’s latest dig at Putin is an escalation of his vehement criticism of the Russian president as the country’s invasion of Ukraine has become more violent and deadly in recent days.
On Wednesday, Biden called Putin a “war criminal” for the first time since Russia launched its unprovoked attack on Ukraine.
Following an event at the White House on Wednesday, Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich asked the President whether he is ready to call Putin a “war criminal.”
The President initially replied “no” before walking away from reporters.
However, Biden returned to the pool of media members to issue a definitive answer to Heinrich’s questions.
“I think he is a war criminal,” the President said on Wednesday.

Ukraine will show how far Republican foreign policy views have shifted.
by ROBERT ROSAMELIA
MARCH 17, 2022
(Photo credit: JEWEL SAMAD/AFP via Getty Images)
When I was growing up in the 2000s, the Republican party was associated with a muscular foreign policy—what George W. Bush in his second inaugural address dubbed “the concerted effort of free nations to promote democracy.” Democrats, on the other hand, tended to put more faith in diplomacy and international organizations, believing that soft power was more effective.
For two or three generations—since Eugene McCarthy’s challenge in 1968, probably—these views of foreign affairs were a more or less consistent cleavage between the parties. The Taftian isolationism that had long ago been a major strain of GOP thought had never entirely disappeared, but it had shrunk considerably, and post-Reagan, post-Gulf War, post-9/11 Republicans tended to believe that the United States should use its power to preserve the liberal global order and to protect democracies. Post-9/11 Democrats, more skeptical about how American power could be used effectively and morally, tended to prefer what one Obama adviser called “leading from behind.”
How things have changed.
Two focus groups I recently observed with Republicans and Democrats from Texas suggested the ways in which the parties have been undergoing a realignment on foreign policy.
Here are some statements from members of the two groups. Try to guess which is the Republican group and which is the Democratic group.
Here’s the first Texas group, where six of the ten participants were in favor of sending American troops to Ukraine.
Moderator: What would the situation there need to look like for everybody, personally, to feel comfortable or want to send troops over? Nobody’s brought that up.
Texas Voter 1: I would have already.
Texas Voter 2: I think he should have done a preemptive thing. As soon as they started doing it, he should have done it. . . .
Texas Voter 1: Bullies are gonna bully until they’re stopped.
Texas Voter 3: Exactly. Yeah.
And here’s the other Texas group, where only three of nine were in favor of sending troops to Ukraine:
Texas Voter 4: When you go into battle, you look at the enemy. He’s got 100,000 troops waiting to invade Ukraine with everything under the sun, except nuclear. What would Biden send? 2,000? 5,000? Against 100,000. I’m opposed to our young men getting slaughtered. And that’s what it would be if it was a war. . . .
Texas Voter 5: I do agree with that, yes. . . .
Texas Voter 6: I was just gonna say, I think we should support Ukraine with troops, temporarily. And I emphasize that word “temporarily” because I think we have to call Putin’s bluff. I think it’s a bluff myself.
Texas Voter 7: I do too.
At this point I’m sure you can guess the trick: The hawkish first group was made up of Democrats, and the more dovish second group was the Republicans.
These trends have been developing for a while. A Pew analysis from 2019 showed a steady reversal in what had been the dominant Republican and Democratic attitudes on foreign policy:
Today, the Republican party’s leader calls Vladimir Putin a “genius” and whitewashes his carnage in Ukraine as “the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen.” Meanwhile, the Democratic party is led by a president who, unlike his predecessor, did not hesitate to call Putin a “killer” and helped assemble the free world to enact crippling sanctions on the Russian economy.
It’s a strange shift.

Top figures from Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign are privately encouraging Ro Khanna to run for president in 2024 if Joe Biden doesn’t seek a second term, giving the California congressman an important stamp of approval from progressives as the party looks to its post-Biden future.
Jeff Weaver, Sanders’ former presidential campaign manager, and Mark Longabaugh, a senior adviser to Sanders during his 2016 bid, have both urged Khanna to consider a campaign in the event Biden declines to run again, according to a person familiar with their discussions.
Democratic officeholders are reluctant to speak publicly about their ambitions in a potential open race in 2024 out of concern that they could undermine the president, who has said he plans to campaign for a second term if he is in good health. There are also sensitivities surrounding Vice President Kamala Harris, who is atop the list of possible candidates but faces skepticism from some party insiders who fear she cannot win a general election.

Biden keeps blaming US inflation at a 40-yr high of ~8% on Putin ("Putin's Price Hike"). But then how to explain the MUCH LOWER inflation rates in countries like France (3.6%), Switzerland (2.2%), and Japan (0.5%) that have also experienced high gas prices?
Maybe that's why foreign leaders didn't take Biden's calls

It might get worse
Even before Russia invaded Ukraine, the Federal Reserve was in a tough spot.
Now it has embarked on a precarious balancing act, trying to rein in high inflation while simultaneously avoiding a severe economic slowdown, perhaps even a recession.
The Fed announced Wednesday that it would start raising interest rates for the first time since 2018, and the initial reaction of financial markets was welcoming. The stock market rose, bond yields wavered and commodity prices moderated.
But whether the economy can withstand rising rates during a period of geopolitical turmoil and a lingering pandemic is a question without an immediate answer.
“Certainly inflation is very high, and the recession risk is a lot higher today than it was 12 months ago — there’s no doubt about that,” said James Paulsen, chief investment strategist for the Leuthold Group, an independent stock research firm in Minneapolis. “But I think there’s a fairly good chance that we’ll have a soft landing.”
That’s not a unanimous position among market strategists, however.
“I think the recession risk is very high,” said David Rosenberg, chief economist of his own firm, Rosenberg Research, in Toronto. “The Fed is caught in a box of its own making because it didn’t move quickly enough on raising rates. Now it has to be seen to move aggressively.”
The Fed’s language was strikingly forceful. “Inflation remains elevated, reflecting supply and demand imbalances related to the pandemic, higher energy prices and broader price pressures,” it said. “The invasion of Ukraine by Russia is causing tremendous human and economic hardship.”
Putin’s Embrace of Trump Finally Backfired. Just like the Republicans who lost control of both branches...
There’s a great line in the movie Miracle, about the 1980 U.S. hockey team upsetting the Russians: “Great moments are born from great opportunity.”
That really describes what’s happened to Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky over the last month. He’s risen to the moment as an eloquent wartime leader. If he survives, he could become the Abraham Lincoln or Winston Churchill of our times.
But I can’t help but think that Zelensky was boosted — perhaps significantly — by his role in Donald Trump’s first impeachment.
That was the first indication to the world that Zelensky — a comedian who many thought was in over his head as Ukraine’s leader — could step up to the moment.
Zelensky fended off Trump’s blackmail attempt to get political dirt to use against Joe Biden in exchange for military aid.
Trump’s subsequent impeachment for that corrupt act brought the young Ukraine leader to the world’s attention.
Without knowing Zelensky as well as we did, it’s quite possible that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine would have been treated as just been another Chechnya or Crimea.
Instead, the world rallied around him and his country.
Russian president Vladimir Putin saw Trump as an American president he could manipulate to further his global ambitions. But Trump’s bungled attempt to blackmail Zelensky may actually have helped turn the Ukraine leader into Putin’s most formidable foe yet.

This is even more exciting
The objections to noting all of this today are drearily predictable. Reporting on Hunter Biden is irrelevant since he was not himself a candidate (what made the reporting relevant was what it revealed about the involvement of Joe Biden in these deals). Given the war in Ukraine, now is not the time to discuss all of this (despite the fact that they are usually ignored, there are always horrific wars being waged even if the victims are not as sympathetic as European Ukrainians and the perpetrators are the film's Good Guys and not the Bad Guys). The real reason most liberals and their media allies do not want to hear about any of this is because they believe that the means they used (deliberately lying to the public with CIA disinformation) are justified by their noble ends (defeating Trump).
Whatever else is true, both the CIA/media disinformation campaign in the weeks before the 2020 election and the resulting regime of brute censorship imposed by Big Tech are of historic significance. Democrats and their new allies in the establishment wing of the Republican Party may be more excited by war in Ukraine than the subversion of their own election by the unholy trinity of the intelligence community, the corporate press, and Big Tech. But today's admission by The New York Times that this archive and the emails in it were real all along proves that a gigantic fraud was perpetrated by the country's most powerful institutions. What matters far more than the interest level of various partisan factions is the core truths about U.S. democracy revealed by this tawdry spectacle.

U.S. Intelligence Operations Against Americans
The story is bigger than Hunter Biden's Laptop
The New York Times has confirmed what the public has long-known: that the Hunter Biden laptop, with all its incriminating e-mails and scandalous media, is authentic.
This is the laptop that launched a thousand lies.
The lies came from CNN’s Brian Stelter, who claimed the “real story” wasn’t the laptop (which he suggested was Russian disinformation), but the how the story was manufactured.
Then there were the lies from Leslie Stahl of 60 Minutes, who argued that the Hunter Biden laptop “can’t be verified.” Not that verification could or could not happen – but that it was impossible.
The lies also came from the New York Times, which called the Hunter Biden information “unsubstantiated.”
In truth, the laptop and its contents are very real, very damaging, and suggest – if not outright prove – criminal conduct by Hunter Biden. While the focus of this article is on the intelligence community and its operations on American soil, let me write briefly on the potential for criminal charges against Hunter Biden.
The New York Times is a bit off-target when it suggests that the DOJ has an uphill battle in charging Hunter Biden for violation of the Foreign Agent Registration Act (RFRA). The New York Times sates:
But there has been debate within the Justice Department over whether the available evidence proves that Mr. Biden intended to violate FARA, which the government must prove in order to secure a criminal conviction.
I think that misstates the law. To support a FARA conviction against Hunter Biden, the DOJ would only need to prove:
That Hunter Biden acted in the U.S. as an agent of a foreign government;
That Hunter Biden failed to notify the U.S. Attorney General that he was acting as an agent of a foreign government (before said action took place); and that Hunter Biden knowingly agreed to operate within the U.S. subject to the direction or control of a foreign government or official; and that he knew he had not provided prior notification to the Attorney General.
Intelligence Operations against Americans
Anyways, back to the lies about Hunter Biden that helped influence an election. These weren’t limited to the usual suspects in media: Stelter, CNN, etc. Instead, we saw them from more than 50 former senior intelligence officials, from directors of the CIA to directors of the National Security Agency, who accused the damaging Hunter Biden information of being part of a Russian effort to interfere “in our democracy.

Putin echoes Stalin in 'very, very scary' speech
Yahoo News
Alexander Nazaryan
March 17m 2:59 PM
WASHINGTON — The speech that Russian President Vladimir Putin made on Wednesday bore the hallmarks of unapologetic authoritarianism, Russia experts and observers said.
“We are well post-1934,” said Nina Khrushcheva, a professor of international relations at the New School in New York City, referencing the year when Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin began his murderous purge. Putin is an unabashed admirer of Stalin and has worked — successfully, in Russia — to rehabilitate his image, which suffered for years after a posthumous denunciation in 1956 by Khrushcheva’s great-grandfather Nikita Khrushchev, then the Soviet leader.
In his unsettling remarks, Putin lashed out at “national traitors” he blamed for undermining the war he launched against Ukraine.
“Putin really wants to take Russia back to Stalin days,” Olga Lautman, a senior fellow at the Center for European Policy Analysis, wrote on Twitter. “He has always emulated Stalin, and this speech is definitely angrier and stronger than previous speeches.”
President Biden said on Wednesday that Putin is a “war criminal,” and the rhetoric the Russian leader used was strikingly similar to the language that authoritarians have deployed to demonize, persecute and kill ethnic minorities and political opposition groups.
Even as Western efforts at diplomacy continue, the Kremlin remains in the grip of profound geopolitical grievance, which could make a peace settlement difficult. Putin said true Russians would “always be able to distinguish true patriots from scum and traitors,” presumably a reference to Russians who have protested his invasion of Ukraine in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Thousands with the means to do so have left Russia, which is facing widespread cultural and economic isolation.
Russia “will simply spit them out like an insect in their mouth, spit them onto the pavement,” Putin said of Russian “fifth columnists” with Western sympathies.
“This is very, very scary,” American investor Bill Browder, who has become a nemesis of Putin's after exposing corruption in the Kremlin, said on Twitter. “The language is unbelievable.”
“The whole speech was pure Dr. Strangelove — bodily fluids, purification and what not,” Khrushcheva told Yahoo News, referencing Stanley Kubrick’s classic 1964 satire about nuclear war. “Very Hollywood, only it’s happening to us, not on screen,” she wrote in an email.
Putin clearly sees Russia as the victim, denouncing the “economic blitzkrieg” of Western sanctions in his remarks, a reference to Adolf Hitler’s favored mode of sudden, overwhelming attack. “I want to be as direct as possible: hostile geopolitical designs lie behind the hypocritical talk and recent actions by the so-called collective West,” he said, according to an English-language transcript of his speech provided by the Kremlin. “They have no use — simply no use — for a strong and sovereign Russia, and they will not forgive us for our independent policy or for standing up for our national interests.”
Putin has maintained that he needed to invade Ukraine to “de-Nazify” and “demilitarize” the country, but he also fears that the Western sphere of influence is increasingly close to Russia’s borders.
The event on Wednesday was billed by the Kremlin as a discussion between Putin and regional leaders about “socioeconomic support.” It was a brief section of Putin’s comments from his introduction, however, that caught the attention of social media users, with millions having viewed a short clip in which he caustically pointed his finger at Russians who have grown rich during his tenure but are now abandoning the country as it becomes an international pariah.
“I do not in the least condemn those who have villas in Miami or the French Riviera, who cannot make do without foie gras, oysters or ‘gender freedom,’ as they call it. That is not the problem, not at all,” Putin said, referencing the elevated standard of living that Russians have enjoyed since he stabilized the economy after a chaotic period of unfettered capitalism in the 1990s.
He also played on long-standing Russian feelings of inferiority relative to the West, reminding supposedly disloyal critics of his Ukrainian campaign that they would never be allowed into “the superior caste, the superior race” of Western society. The West, he suggested, sees Russians not as equals but as “expendable raw material” to be exploited.
The speech left Lautman of the Center for European Policy Analysis stunned. “Everyone soon will be fifth columnists as Putin gets more enraged,” she told Yahoo News in a text message. “There will be a purge from his agencies, military, and everyday citizens. It was really such a dark speech.”

The Coronavirus Funding Collapse Is a Disaster
March 17, 2022 at 8:46 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard
Ed Yong:
“This week, Congress nixed $15 billion in coronavirus funding from a $1.5 trillion spending bill, which President Joe Biden then signed on Tuesday. The decision is catastrophic, and as the White House has noted, its consequences will unfurl quickly.
“Next week, the government
*will have to cut shipments of monoclonal-antibody treatments by a third.
In April,
*it will no longer be able to reimburse health-care providers for testing, vaccinating, or treating millions of uninsured Americans, who are disproportionately likely to be unvaccinated and infected.
*Come June, it won’t be able to support domestic testing manufacturers.
*It can’t buy extra doses of antiviral pills or infection-preventing treatments that immunocompromised people are banking on but were already struggling to get.
*“It will need to scale back its efforts to improve vaccination rates in poor countries,
*which increases the odds that dangerous new variants will arise.
*If such variants arise, they’ll likely catch the U.S. off guard,
*because surveillance networks will have to be scaled back too.
*Should people need further booster shots, the government won’t have enough for everyone.”
AND IF IT DOES TURN OUT ALL THAT BADLY,
WHO'RE GONNA BLAME?
BLAME BIDEN?
WHY NOT BLAME CONGRESS?
WHY NOT BLAME YOURSELVES

One of the most successful disinformation campaigns in modern American electoral history occurred in the weeks prior to the 2020 presidential election. On October 14, 2020 — less than three weeks before Americans were set to vote — the nation's oldest newspaper, The New York Post, began publishing a series of reports about the business dealings of the Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in countries in which Biden, as Vice President, wielded considerable influence (including Ukraine and China) and would again if elected president.
The backlash against this reporting was immediate and intense, leading to suppression of the story by U.S. corporate media outlets and censorship of the story by leading Silicon Valley monopolies. The disinformation campaign against this reporting was led by the CIA's all-but-official spokesperson Natasha Bertrand (then of Politico, now with CNN), whose article on October 19 appeared under this headline: “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say.”
Natasha Bertrand, Politico, Oct. 19, 2020
These "former intel officials" did not actually say that the “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo." Indeed, they stressed in their letter the opposite: namely, that they had no evidence to suggest the emails were falsified or that Russia had anything to do them, but, instead, they had merely intuited this "suspicion" based on their experience:
We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement -- just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.
But a media that was overwhelmingly desperate to ensure Trump's defeat had no time for facts or annoying details such as what these former officials actually said or whether it was in fact true. They had an election to manipulate. As a result, that these emails were "Russian disinformation” — meaning that they were fake and that Russia manufactured them — became an article of faith among the U.S.'s justifiably despised class of media employees.
Very few even included the crucial caveat that the intelligence officials themselves stressed: namely, that they had no evidence at all to corroborate this claim. Instead, as I noted last September, “virtually every media outlet — CNN, NBC News, PBS, Huffington Post, The Intercept, and too many others to count — began completely ignoring the substance of the reporting and instead spread the lie over and over that these documents were the by-product of Russian disinformation.” The Huffington Post even published a must-be-seen-to-be-believed campaign ad for Joe Biden, masquerading as “reporting,” that spread this lie that the emails were "Russian disinformation.”
Ukraine is a scam by the deep state
But Volodymyr Zelensky—who is he really? Well, he is a comedian and former performing drag queen who was literally plucked out of nowhere to become the current president of Ukraine. Archbishop Carlo Vigano’, former Apostolic Nuncio in the United State for the Catholic Church and an highly informed observer of Eastern European cultural and political matters, offers this picture:
Zelensky’s performances as a drag queen are perfectly consistent with the LGBTQ ideology that is considered by his European sponsors as an indispensable requirement of the “reform” agenda that every country ought to embrace, along with gender equality, abortion and the green economy. No wonder Zelensky, a member of the WEF [World Economic Forum] (here), was able to benefit from the support of Klaus Schwab and his allies [including George Soros] to come to power and ensure that the Great Reset would also be carried out in Ukraine…. In his homeland, many accuse him of having taken power away from the pro-Russian oligarchs not to give it to the Ukrainian people, but rather to strengthen his own interest group and at the same time remove his political adversaries.
After his election Zelensky closed seven opposition television channels, suppressed the opposition press, and arrested and accused the leader of the major opposition party in Ukraine, Arsen Medvedcuk, of treason, while naming his friends and associates to powerful and lucrative high positions in the government.
And this is the man that Nancy Pelosi holds up as “the champion of democracy” and for whom Brian Kilmeade blubbers his unreserved admiration as another Abraham Lincoln.
Since 2014, the seceded republics of Donetsk and Lugansk have suffered approximately 14,000 civilian casualties at the hands of organized and irregular Ukrainian troops. But no Western media carry news of those outrages.
Instead, what American viewers get are graphic images of hospitals, maternity wards and civilian apartments destroyed, it is repeated incessantly, by Russian missiles and long-range artillery fire.
Yet, careful investigation of those purported “war crimes” should cause viewers to doubt what they are seeing. The first question that arises is: why would the Russian Army specifically target civilians and hospitals, for all the world to plainly see, when already they are receiving such negative press in the West? Indeed, with nearly 20% of the Ukrainian population ethnically Russian and stated Russian war aims to pacify and win over at least portions of the country, such mindless attacks would seem counter-productive.
And that brings us to the tactic of various irregular groups fighting at the behest of the Ukrainian government, such as the fanatical Azov Battalion militia group (trained by the CIA) and other violent nationalist formations which have engaged in terrorism against Russian civilians since 2014. Part of the strategy of such groups is to stage false flag operations, to occupy a hospital, for instance, and use it as a base for sniper fire against Russian regulars. Then, when the Russians fire back, to show vivid images to eager Western reporters of the “war crimes” committed by those hated Russians. Nothing gets the attention and sympathy of American viewers more than scenes of dying innocent mothers with their young babies, savagely slaughtered by those evil Orc-like demons from the cold north. And nothing makes better fodder for Ukrainian propagandists than those images spread across American HD wide-screens.
As Archbishop Vigano’ has observed (March 6):
It is dismaying to see with what hypocrisy the European Union and the United States – Brussels and Washington – are giving their unconditional support to President Zelensky, whose government for eight years now has continued to violently persecute Russian-speaking Ukrainians with impunity (here), for whom it is even forbidden to speak in their own language… And it is scandalous that they are silent about the use of civilians as human shields by the Ukrainian army, which places anti-aircraft positions inside population centers, hospitals and maternity wards, schools and kindergartens precisely so that their destruction can cause deaths among the population.
Investigative journalists, Glenn Greenwald (on Substack), and Chronicles magazine assistant editor Pedro Gonzalez (March 7), have documented the incredibly large number of such instances, of horribly tragic attacks seemingly aimed at civilians, supposedly by the Russian army, only on closer inspection to have been committed by Ukrainian irregulars—who thereupon can utilize the unquestioning bias and favorability of the Western media to present their version widely:
Is There a Peace Deal Putin and Zelensky Can Accept?
By Patrick J. Buchanan
In an interview with Reuters, Dmitry Peskov, Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman for decades, made a startling offer. Moscow could end the Ukraine war immediately, said Peskov, if four conditions were met. Ukraine should cease all military action, recognize Crimea as part of Russia, accept the independence of the Luhansk and Donetsk separatist enclaves, and enact a constitutional commitment to "neutrality," which would prevent Ukraine from ever joining NATO. Were this to be done, said Peskov, the war "will stop in a moment."
As this would restore the situation in Ukraine to the "status quo ante" that existed before Putin ordered the invasion, Peskov's offer seemed not to be believable. Yet, according to The New York Times, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky "seemed surprisingly open to the idea." Zelensky "said he had 'cooled down' on joining NATO, saying it was clear the western alliance 'is not prepared to accept Ukraine.'" As for Luhansk, Donetsk and Crimea, said Zelensky, "We can discuss and find a compromise on how these territories will live on."
Monday, Ukraine and Russia held a fourth session of peace talks, and expressions of optimism were heard from both sides. Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podolyak volunteered that Russia is beginning to talk constructively. "I think that we will achieve some results literally in a matter of days."
Yet, Russia's strategic goals, manifest in its unfolding military action, seem to go far beyond the moderate demands of Peskov. Three weeks into this war, what do Russia's goals appear to be?
First, besiege and bring down the Kyiv government of Zelensky and replace it with a Russian client regime.Second, divide Ukraine along the lines of the Dnieper River, which bisects the country north to south, and create an East Ukraine as a pro-Russian state.Third, seize and occupy the entire coast of the Sea of Azov, turn it into a Russian lake, and capture all of the Ukrainian Black Sea coast from the Donbas to Mariupol, Crimea, Kherson, Odessa and Transnistria, the last a slice of seceded Moldovan land Moscow now controls.
This would leave a landlocked rump state of west Ukraine, which would be a buffer between NATO nations Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland--and Russia-backed East Ukraine.
The Wall Street Journal said Monday that Russia's realization of these goals would be tantamount to victory in Putin's war: "A Ukraine divided in two, with Russia in control of the east, and a rump, Western Ukraine cut off from the coast might look like a victory to Mr. Putin--especially if sanctions are removed in some cease-fire agreement." With this kind of peace in hand, Putin could then warn the NATO nations that if they attacked East Ukraine directly, or indirectly by arming insurgents, they would face "consequences you have never seen."
As no NATO nation risked war to save Georgia from Russia in 2008, or to save Ukraine from the Crimean and Donbas amputations of 2014, it is not likely NATO would risk war with Russia, and a potential third world war, if Russia declared a truce once it got full control of eastern Ukraine.
Where would that leave the West?
The Americans and British would likely treat Putin as a pariah and never meet with him again. But would President Emmanuel Macron of France and Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany cut off all communication with Russia, when they have been making daily phone calls to Putin and regular visits to Moscow, even as Putin's war of aggression was raging?
If Russia and Ukraine reached a ceasefire and a truce, would the EU and NATO nations of Europe not swiftly stand down themselves, rather than keep the Ukrainian resistance fighting? If Kyiv falls to a Russian strategy of encirclement and strangulation, capitulation and conquest, how long would it be before EU nations seek an end to Russia's isolation and a new era of detente?
Or would the continued existence of a regime headed by Putin mean permanent hostility? Three years after Nikita Khrushchev sent Soviet tanks into Budapest to crush the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, the Soviet premier was riding up Pennsylvania Avenue in an open convertible with Dwight Eisenhower to spend the night at Blair House before a 12-day tour as the guest of the president of the United States.
As of now, the winner of this Russia-Ukraine war appears to be China. Given the severity of U.S. sanctions and the ostracism of Russia from the West, China is the only partner nation and economy to which Moscow can turn to recoup its losses. If this war continues to unfold in a manner that is slow, painful and ugly, China and Russia are likely to establish far better relations with each other than either has with the United States.
But how is China, which is engaged in cultural genocide against its Uyghur minority of 10 million, a racial and ethnic persecution featuring reeducation camps, rapes, forced abortions and sterilizations, a morally superior regime to Putin's?
The provenance of the laptop was less than ironclad, and Giuliani, who has told so many lies as Trump's lawyer that it is hard to keep track of them, is no one's idea of a reliable source. But the Post's story included a photo of the federal subpoena for the laptop and an external hard drive, which showed the FBI had seized them and thought they might provide evidence of illegal activity.
"As part of the F.B.I.'s closely held money-laundering investigation into Mr. Biden," the Times acknowledged two months after the Post's story, "agents working with federal prosecutors in Delaware authorized a federal grand jury subpoena and obtained the laptop and an external hard drive." But the paper implied that there was nothing of interest there: "People familiar with the examination said that the F.B.I. examined the laptop but that its contents did not advance the money-laundering investigation."
The Times now says the investigation of Hunter Biden "began as a tax inquiry under the Obama administration" and "widened in 2018 to include possible criminal violations of tax laws, as well as foreign lobbying and money laundering rules." One issue is whether Biden violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act, "which requires disclosure to the Justice Department of lobbying or public relations assistance on behalf of foreign clients" such as Burisma.
The emails cited by the Post are clearly relevant to that inquiry, but only if they are bona fide—a point the Times has repeatedly questioned until now. Even if the Post had not done enough to verify the original source of the laptop, the Times surely could have filled in the gaps sooner than it did. As recently as last September, it was still describing the emails as "correspondence that The Post suggested had been found on Hunter Biden's laptop."
In an editorial published today, the Post mocks the Gray Lady's belated certification of the emails as "authenticated" by unnamed sources: "Authenticated!!! You don't say. You mean, when a newspaper actually does reporting on a topic and doesn't just try to whitewash coverage for Joe Biden, it discovers it's actually true?"
The editorial also notes that the Times initially questioned whether the meeting between Joe Biden and the Burisma executive had actually happened. "A Biden campaign spokesman said Mr. Biden's official schedules did not show a meeting between the two men," Times reporter Adam Goldman wrote. "A lawyer for Hunter Biden, George Mesires, told The Washington Post that 'this purported meeting never happened.'"
Or maybe it did, the Times now admits: "In another set of emails examined by prosecutors, Hunter Biden and Mr. Archer discussed inviting foreign business associates, including a Burisma executive, to a dinner in April 2015 at a Washington restaurant where Vice President Biden would stop by. It is not clear whether the Burisma executive attended the dinner, although the vice president did make an appearance, according to people familiar with the event."
The Post wonders why it took Times reporters took so long to do their job: "Now we're 16 months away from the 2020 election, Joe Biden's safely in the White House, and the Times finally decides to report on the news rather than carry the Biden campaign's water. And they find that hey, Hunter Biden's business interests benefited from Joe Biden's political status to a suspicious degree. Perhaps this is a topic worthy of examination."
Hunter Biden's arrangement with Burisma was always fishy, since he was paid handsomely and his only qualification to serve on the company's board of directors seemed to be his relationship with an important U.S. official. His father's angry, defensive responses to questions about that arrangement only added to the suspicion.
During a February 2020 interview on NBC's Today show, for instance, co-host Savannah Guthrie asked Joe Biden whether it was "wrong for [Hunter] to take that position, knowing that it was really because that company wanted access to you." Biden testily insisted there was nothing to see there: "Well, that's not true. You're saying things you do not know what you're talking about. No one has said that—who said that?" When Guthrie suggested that some people might see the Burisma gig as "sleazy," Biden replied: "Well, he said he regretted having done it. Speak for yourself. He's a grown man."
None of this necessarily means that Joe Biden himself did anything improper or illegal. While Trump alleged that Biden was doing Burisma's bidding when he demanded the dismissal of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, for example, Biden plausibly maintained that the motivation was widely shared concerns about Shokin's corruption.
Nor does Hunter Biden's unseemly relationship with Burisma mean that Trump was justified in seeking to discredit the Democrat he expected to face in the presidential election by pressuring the Ukrainian government to announce an investigation of the matter. But it surely was a legitimate issue to raise during the presidential campaign, as Guthrie and other journalists unconnected to the Post recognized. The question is why the Times did not, and the answer clearly has more to do with partisan sympathies than the journalistic standards the paper claimed to be defending.

THE PANTAGRAPH
A new pledge of allegiance
I have concluded that there are now a significant number of Republicans who no longer represent what this nation stands for. Sadly, they have misled many Americans, including working class people, into thinking they are “for” them, for the people, when actually they are would-be autocrats who want to rule our nation for the benefit of their own selfish personal profit.
In this they resemble the corrupt oligarchs who along with Vladimir Putin are now dictatorially ruling a captive Russia.
What can we do about them? Oppose them. Free ourselves from them. Vote them and the candidates they support down and out.
In addition, I find myself wishing, for the sake of future generations to be born in our land, that most Americans will now unite in insisting on rewording our Pledge of Allegiance to make it include words that are found neither in the Declaration of Independence nor in the Constitution, but that now strongly need to be placed front and foremost in everyone’s mind:
Those words are: “I pledge allegiance to the United States of America, a nation intended (by God) to have a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people – not of, by, and for only the rich.”
Government that is "of the people, by the people, and for the people" – for all the people – those words need to be heard, learned, and constantly repeated by all the citizens and school children of our land.

Putin Likens Opponents to ‘Gnats’
6:45 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
“Facing stiff resistance in Ukraine and crippling economic sanctions at home, Russian President Vladimir Putin is using language that recalls the rhetoric from Josef Stalin’s show trials of the 1930s,” the AP reports.
“Putin’s ominous speech on Wednesday likened opponents to ‘gnats’ who try to weaken the country at the behest of the West — crude remarks that set the stage for sweeping repressions against those who dare to speak out against the war in Ukraine.
“His rant appeared to reflect his frustration about the slow pace of the Russian offensive, which bogged down on the outskirts of Kyiv and around other cities in northeastern Ukraine.”
Where China Stands on Ukraine
6:42 am
Associated Press: “Beijing’s leadership would like to be supportive of Russia but also recognizes how badly the Russian military action is going as an overmatched Ukrainian military has put up stiff resistance, according to a Western official familiar with current intelligence assessments.
“The official, who was not authorized to comment and spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Beijing is weighing the the potential ‘reputational blowback’ of being associated with the Russian camp. The Chinese response to Russia’s request for help ‘is in the process of being formulated,’ the official added.”
Bloomberg:
“China’s muted response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has hardened views within the Biden administration that President Xi Jinping may be moving closer to supporting Moscow as the conflict continues.”
Putin Lays Out His Demands
6:40 am
BBC: “Turkey has positioned itself with great care to be the go-between with Russia and Ukraine – and this seems to be paying off.
“On Thursday afternoon, President Vladimir Putin rang the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and told him what Russia’s precise demands were for a peace deal with Ukraine.”
Tillis Throws Shade at Madison Cawthorn
6:37 am
Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) pointed out that Rep. Madison Cawthorn’s (R-NC) recent remarks calling Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky a “thug” are being “replayed over and over by Russian state propaganda outlets.”
Republicans Forget How Trump Withheld Ukraine Aid
6:14 am
“Republicans clamoring to accuse President Joe Biden of slow-walking support for Ukraine don’t see a shred of comparison with Donald Trump’s impeachment for withholding aid from the very same nation,” Politico reports.
“The GOP’s refusal to acknowledge the Ukraine-related substance of the Trump impeachment as Russia bombards Zelenskyy’s nation is a case study in the hopeless partisanship of the modern Congress, and the difficulties ahead as leaders weigh more support for Ukraine.”
Biden Personalizes the Ukraine Conflict
5:34 am
“When President Biden declared to reporters on Wednesday that President Vladimir Putin of Russia was a “war criminal,” he was speaking from the heart, his aides said, reacting to the wrenching images of civilians being dragged from ruins of buildings shelled by Russian forces,” the New York Times reports.
“But he was also personalizing the conflict, in a way past presidents have avoided at moments of crisis with the United States’ leading nuclear-armed adversary for most of the past 75 years. And his remark underscored how personal condemnation has become policy.”
A Furious Rain of Bombs and Rockets in Kharkiv
5:31 am
Washington Post:
“The grotesque scene was a small glimpse of the human toll of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s assault on Ukraine. Just 25 miles from the country’s eastern border with Russia, Ukraine’s second-largest city was an early target in Moscow’s advance.
“But failing in their attempts to enter the city for the past three weeks, Russian forces have rained down a daily shower of artillery fire, missiles and rockets, which appear to strike at random in civilian neighborhoods. The Washington Post also witnessed evidence of cluster bombs being used in the area around the main market in the city center.
“Officials here said at least 250 civilians have died, but that is not a full toll and countless more lie buried under the rubble. It is a grim bellwether of the trajectory that could be in store for other Ukrainian cities that hold out against Russian forces.”
U.S. Not Hopeful for Diplomatic Solution in Ukraine
5:27 am
“The US secretary of state has poured cold water on hopes of a diplomatic settlement to the war in Ukraine, saying there were no signs Vladimir Putin was ‘prepared to stop’ Russia’s invasion of its neighbor,” the Financial Times reports.
“Antony Blinken played down expectations the warring countries would be able to come to an agreement that would see Russia withdraw its forces from Ukraine as he vowed Washington would investigate ‘war crimes’ carried out by the Russian military.”
God recorded the 10th Commandment for us in Exodus 20:17:
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
A true pastor would heed these words and be true to them above all else.
Fake pastors, (read; cult leaders) embrace envy and covetousness, seeking to deprive others of the fruits of their labors because the fake pastors are too stupid, lazy, or both, to earn their own.
They seek to tear down, to punish that which has been earned.
And they instill these evil virtues in those they claim to lead.
Fake pastors worship the false idols God warned us about:
You shall have no other gods before me. Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God.
Fake pastors are false prophets. -
In religion, a false prophet is a person who falsely claims the gift of prophecy or divine inspiration, or to speak for God, or who makes such claims for evil ends.
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit. A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits."

I don't covet anything that anyone else has. Ever. And I have personal friends whose wealth can be measured in the millions, the tens of millions, and even one in the hundreds of millions. I've known these folks since I was a child. Every one of them has labored long and hard to accumulate what they have, and while I don't know exactly what tax they pay, if any, I am confident that each of them are in full compliance with the law.
An intelligent and honest person who questions the amount of tax any given person may pay, or not, takes issue with the TAX LAW. Show me the law these "oligarchs" of yours have broken and I want them prosecuted to the fullest extent. But that's not your issue. Your issue is with there mere accumulation of wealth and the fact that in YOUR OPINION they've accumulated too much. So you would seek to seize their wealth. Steal it by force.
Thou shalt not steal, pederast.
As you have been stealing from your "flock" via the collection plate for the past several decades. Running that con, that grift, all under the guise of a man of God. That's evil personified.

“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’” Biden recalled telling Poroshenko.

Kremlin calls Biden irritable and forgetful, says he insulted Putin
Reuters
March 18, 2022, 7:48 AM
(Reuters)
-The Kremlin on Friday called comments by U.S. President Joe Biden about his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin "personal insults" and said Biden's remarks appeared to have been fueled by irritation, fatigue and forgetfulness.
Biden has labelled Putin a "war criminal" and a "murderous dictator" in recent days after the Russian leader last month sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine in what he called a special operation to degrade its military capabilities and root out people he called dangerous nationalists.
"We hear and see statements that are actually personal insults to President Putin," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
[Oh, isn't that too bad!
Personal insults were also lodged at Adolf Hitler!]
"Given such irritability from Mr Biden, his fatigue and sometimes forgetfulness...fatigue that leads to aggressive statements, we will not make harsh assessments, so as not to cause more aggression."

What is the highest tax rate under Biden’s plan?
A new top tax rate of 39.6% Biden’s tax plan would raise the top income tax rate to 39.6%.
That was the highest rate before the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which lowered it to the current 37%.
The 39.6% rate would apply to the top 1% of Americans, according to the White House.
The Biden tax plan would raise $1.5 trillion from the wealthy.
