In a Thursday interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Trump said the Russian invasion of Ukraine was “truly is a crime against humanity” that “has to end soon.”
“Putin is having a lot of trouble right now. He’s having big big trouble because he thought it was going to be a 48-hour deal and the Ukrainians are good fighters,” he told Hannity. So apparently there are still total idiots who believe that not only is Trump backing Russia and rootin for Putin, but there are some who are convinced that there are Republicans out there who are following Trump in this non-existent love fest for this invasion.
There is literally no actual truth to the total and complete "slander" that Trump backs up what Putin is doing or that there are large droves of people on the right who are justifying the war crimes being committed.
The problem for liberals right now is that our current President is sleeping on the job and there really is no defense for him. So they are basically looking to deflect Biden's incompetence onto someone or something else. Trump (of course) is an easy target. Easy in that liberals will believe just about anything you say about him.
As suggested by Duke from Red State:
I’m not one of those progressive lib hacks that will try to reinterpret what the former President meant on “Hannity.” Donald Trump said crimes against humanity were being committed in Ukraine. He did not say BUT in trying to explain away the Putin invasion. He did not offer any of the excuses that are being offered as some weird justification for the largest land invasion in Europe since WW II.
He plainly stated it was a war crime, and if he had been President right now, it would not have happened. I stand with Donald Trump.
Are liberals willing to stand with their President without bringing up Trump every ten minutes? I promise you that they are neither willing to or capable of doing so.

Yeah, this is a typical trick of Trump's, which never works.

Even when his previous words are on tape.

Trump's own national security chief is convinced that Putin waited to invade Ukraine because he was convinced that, if elected, Trump would pull the United States out of NATO, which he was constantly criticizing, and that would have made it even easier for Putin.
He was hoping Trump would help "do his work for him," as Bolton said.
Trump is an easy target because all you have to do is look at what he says when he first says it, before he backtracks.

Truth About the War in Europe

“Academics can debate whether our current period is in the umbra of the same Cold War that dominated the last century,
or a new one;
whether we’re on the doorstep of World War III,
or are already in it;
whether the conditions on the ground in Europe today are most reflective of the eve of World War I
or World War II;
but what no one can deny is that what is happening in Ukraine is not merely a ‘news story’ or even a spate of well-televised war crimes
but a fundamental shifting of our age toward chaos.
“Yesterday, a former high-ranking official in the Donald Trump administration,

NOW, PAUSE AND LET THAT SINK IN...
That he is correct is confirmed
not just by the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trumpist irregulars
or the fact that former president Trump
—to please Putin and ensure his own future business opportunities in Russia—
put every U.S. alliance and interest lying beyond our shores at risk,
but the fact that America is now in a global conflict

at a time when Trump and Trumpism have deliberately put our body politic at a point of permanent fracture.

Democrats Reorient Midterm Pitch Around Ukraine
3:12 pm EST By Taegan Goddard
“President Biden and his party have moved in recent days to reorient their election-year pitch to voters around Russia’s invasion of Ukraine — seeking to shift blame for struggles to tame rising prices onto Vladimir Putin and promoting the White House strategy to punish the Kremlin as a muscular response to a geopolitical threat,”
the Washington Post reports.
“Democrats said they hope the message,
which they honed in political meetings over the past week,
will help address some of their biggest liabilities ahead of the November midterm elections.
Chief among them are Biden’s low approval ratings and a widespread perception that Democrats are at fault for a sharp increase in inflation.”

Putin’s Pre-War Moves Against Big Tech
Washington Post:
“Russian agents came to the home of Google’s top executive in Moscow to deliver a frightening ultimatum last September: take down an app that had drawn the ire of Russian President Vladimir Putin within 24 hours or be taken to prison.
“Google quickly moved the woman to a hotel where she checked in under an assumed name and might be protected by the presence of other guests and hotel security, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The same agents — believed by company officials to be from Russia’s FSB, a successor to the KGB intelligence service — then showed up at her room to tell her the clock was still ticking.
“Within hours, an app designed to help Russians register protest votes against Putin could no longer be downloaded from Google or Apple, whose main representative in Moscow faced a similarly harrowing sequence.”

How Westerners Can Text Russians About the War
4:08 pm EST
“People around the world are using a new website to circumvent the Kremlin’s propaganda machine by sending individual messages about the war in Ukraine to random people in Russia,”

“The website was developed by a group of Polish programmers who obtained some 20 million cellphone numbers and close to 140 million email addresses owned by Russian individuals and companies. The site randomly generates numbers and addresses from those databases and allows anyone anywhere in the world to message them, with the option of using a pre-drafted message in Russian that calls on people to bypass President Vladimir Putin’s censorship of the media.”

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump's top diplomat promised on Tuesday a new democratic world order in which Washington will strengthen or jettison international agreements as it sees fit to stop "bad actors" such as Russia, China and Iran from gaining.
In a twist on Trump's "America First" policy, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Trump was not abandoning its global leadership but instead reshaping the post-World War Two system on the basis of sovereign states, not multilateral institutions.
"In the finest traditions of our great democracy, we are rallying the noble nations to build a new liberal order that prevents war and achieves greater prosperity," Pompeo told diplomats and officials in a foreign policy

‘The Kremlin is lying’:
Hackers build tool to let anyone text Russian citizens about the war in Ukraine
'Dear Russians, your media is being censored. The Kremlin is lying.'
Mikael Thalen Tech
Hackers have created an online tool that lets users auto-text message random Russian phone numbers with information about the war in Ukraine.
Created by the hacking group known as Squad303, the tool, hosted at the domain 1920.in, loads a pre-written statement into a user’s native SMS app that attempts to inform Russians about the ongoing conflict.
“Dear Russians, your media is being censored. The Kremlin is lying,” the statement reads. “Find out the truth about Ukraine on the free internet and in the Telegram app.
Time to overthrow dictator Putin!”
In a statement to the Daily Dot, a member of Squad303 described the effort as a “non-violent communication project” aimed at bypassing Russia’s crackdown on independent news sources. The domain name for the tool refers to Poland’s surprise victory against Russian forces in 1920.
“We know that people wanted to get engaged to help Ukrainians.
We wanted to deliver them a tool to start a dialog with Russians,” the group said.
“We did not expect that Russia would build the digital censorship wall so fast.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed last week a new law that could see those accused of spreading “fake news” regarding the war in Ukraine sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.
The decree has caused independent media outlets in Russia, both foreign and domestic, to cease operations over fears of reprisal.
Squad303 claims that its tool has already been used to send out more than 6.3 million text messages, although the Daily Dot was unable to confirm the number.
The hacking group also claimed that its service was targeted by distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks shortly after launch. Squad303’s website has since enabled DDoS protection from Cloudflare to keep its server online.
Users across numerous social media platforms have been sharing their experience with the tool.
While many texts are met with silence, some say they’ve been able to converse with Russian citizens.
One user who asked to remain anonymous but provided the Daily Dot with text messages they had made using the tool applauded the project.
“I want the people of Russia to know the truth about what their government is doing to the people of Ukraine,” the user said.
While the texting tool appears to be growing in popularity, Squad303 says that it plans to release an entirely new tool soon.
“We will publish a brand new tool to flood Russians with crime evidence from the battlefield even easier than via text messages,” the group wrote. “And it is going to cost nothing.”
Squad303’s efforts have already received widespread attention online thanks to amplification by large Twitter accounts tied to the Anonymous hacking collective.
The campaign is just a small part of a growing wave of hacktivism targeted towards the Russian state. Ukraine even took the unprecedented step of recruiting hackers across the globe to join its “IT Army” in order to carry out DDoS attacks and look for vulnerabilities in Russian systems.
European leaders are troubled by Trump’s rhetoric and say that his decision to pull out of the Paris climate change accord and the 2015 Iran nuclear deal undermine European priorities.
Alluding to Trump’s policies in a speech on Monday in Cambridge, Massachusetts, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini warned of “the rule of the jungle” replacing the rule of law.
Pompeo said the United States was acting correctly.
“Our administration is ... lawfully exiting or renegotiating outdated or harmful treaties, trade agreements, and other international arrangements that don’t serve our sovereign interests, or the interest of our allies,” he said.
Under pressure from Washington, the U.S.-led NATO alliance is expected later on Tuesday to declare Russia in formal breach of a nuclear arms control treaty, paving the way for Trump to withdraw from the Cold War-era agreement.
NATO’s European allies have pressed Trump not to follow through with his threat to quit the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty with Moscow, signed in 1987, but instead to work to bring Russia into compliance with the pact.
However, diplomats said they were now trying to limit the fallout of the decision by staggering the expected U.S. withdrawal into next year and first formally accusing Russia of breaking the INF agreement, which rid Europe of land-based nuclear missiles. Russia denies violation of the pact.

WASHINGTON — U.S. officials are examining the ownership of a $700 million superyacht currently in a dry dock in an Italian seacoast town and believe it could be associated with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, according to multiple people briefed on the information.
U.S. intelligence agencies have made no final conclusions about the ownership of the superyacht — called the Scheherazade — but U.S. officials said they had found initial indications that it was linked to Putin. The information from the U.S. officials came after The New York Times reported Tuesday that Italian authorities were looking into the 459-foot-long vessel’s ownership and that a former crew member said it was for the use of Putin.

Israel cuddling up to Russia continues to go as well as you might expect:
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy that he recommends Ukraine take the offer made by Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war – which includes many Ukrainian sacrifices – in a phone call on Tuesday, according to an official in Ukraine’s government. According to the official, Zelenksy did not take Bennett’s advice.
The source claimed that the phone call was initiated by Bennett. “If I were you, I would think about the lives of my people and take the offer,” Bennett reportedly said.
Zelenksy’s response was short. “I hear you,” he said.
What on earth is Israel doing here? How can it think telling the Ukranians to just surrender no matter what Putin is doing is going to do anything but make it look bad to the rest of the world?
Of course, we all know what the real issue is:
In the past two weeks, and especially since Bennett’s visit to Moscow, the prime minister’s office and the Foreign Ministry have been claiming that Israel’s mediation efforts force them to keep an even more cautious and balanced approach. This message was also passed quietly to Zelenksy’s office. The official also said that Israel asked Ukraine not to request more military and defense aid because such a request could harm the mediation efforts.
According to the official, however, Zelenksy’s office isn’t seeing results from the mediation. He said that Bennett isn’t mediating so much as he is functioning as a mailbox and just passing messages between the two sides. According to him, a mediator needs to try to put together a compromise between the two sides and make his own offers.
“We don’t need a mailbox,” said the official. “We have enough of those. If Bennett wants to be neutral and mediate, we would expect to see him appoint someone to work on it day and night and try to get a compromise.”
Ukrainian officials believe that Bennett’s involvement in diplomatic efforts comes from his not wanting to take a clear stance regarding the Russian invasion from fear that it will harm Israel’s ties with Russia.
Israel refuses to anger Putin. That’s the real issue. Because he's not sane anymore
From Redstate geezers
This is what he thinks about us — that we’re not capable of understanding even those basic things. Somehow, we just don’t understand how wonderful he’s made everything for us, as we’re being crushed under the Bidenflation boot. If you think you’re struggling, you’re just imagining it. The problem for him of course is that we do understand, and that’s what he can’t stand.
As far as “understanding,” Biden doesn’t even seem to be able to understand how to even get a sentence out without getting lost in the middle of it, while having no idea what he is saying.
Biden claimed that the American Rescue Plan, the $1.9 trillion law signed last year, didn’t cause inflation.
But economists beg to differ, and point to that spending as a driving factor behind the inflation surge. Even Steven Rattner, a former Treasury Department official under the Obama administration, has said that this isn’t on Putin, it’s on Biden, and he needs to own it.
He also had previously noted that it can be traced back to the “original sin” of the American Rescue Plan and the massive spending by Biden, writing in a November 2021, New York Times op-ed.
“The original sin was the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, passed in March. The bill – almost completely unfunded – sought to counter the effects of the COVID pandemic by focusing on demand-side stimulus rather than on investment. That has contributed materially to today’s inflation levels.”
Yet, Biden is still pushing even more spending, and refusing to acknowledge this because he knows it would put the skids on his further spending ambitions. That’s why he’ll blame everything else but the real cause. So, either he’s evil and wants to impose more suffering. Or he’s the one who “doesn’t understand” here, and he’s going to find out how well Americans understand in November

challenges? Cognitively speaking, one man says no.
Notably, he’s a doctor.
More curious: He surely knows erstwhile VP Joe — physician Ronny Jackson served as White House doctor during the Obama presidency.
On Friday, Ronny took to Twitter.
The doctor is in…censed:
“Biden doesn’t know what’s going on with Ukraine. He doesn’t know what’s going on with ANYTHING! He’s not cognitively capable of leading. He needs to RESIGN before our country suffers any more.”
Biden doesn’t know what’s going on with Ukraine. He doesn’t know what’s going on with ANYTHING! He’s not cognitively capable of leading. He needs to RESIGN before our country suffers any more.
— Ronny Jackson (@RonnyJacksonTX) March 11, 2022
It’s not his first remark of the sort.
In a February 23rd Fox Digital interview — and amid crisis in Ukraine — he jabbed Joe:
“The whole country is seeing his mental cognitive issues on display for over a year now, and there’s really no question in most people’s minds that there’s something going on with him, that he’s not cognitively the same as he used to be and, in my mind, not fit to be our president right now.”
“Every time he gets up and talks to the American people,” Jackson continued, “it’s not just the American people that are watching him speak. It’s the whole world, and that’s part of what the problem is here. He looks tired, he looks weak, he looks confused, he’s incoherent, and it sends a message of weakness all over the world, and they’re seizing up on that.”
Ronny’s not wrong. Whenever America’s executive orates, he sounds like he’s down to half a lung. If he were a schooner, his sole sail would consist of penetrated plastic wrap. He’s reached that point where you only put one candle on his cake — not due to insufficient space, but because he lacks the capacity to blow more out. You light that waxed “80” figurine and pretend you’re having the grandkids help only because it’s cute.
Certainly, no one would claim the Commander-in-Chief is a “young” 79.
And it’s no reason for shame — we’re all headed that way. Hopefully, none of us will bear the burden of leading a third of a billion people once we’re there.
Dr. Ronny — to be clear, now a Republican Texas congressman — noted Joe’s never been foul-up free. But things have taken a terrible turn.
“He’s got 40 years of tape,” Jackson told Fox. “You can go back and look, he’s always made gaffes, he’s always made missteps, but never like this. This is something different. These aren’t gaffes… This is something much more serious.”
And we’re seriously in need — of someone to navigate serious situations.
Since Biden took office, we’ve seen the Afghanistan fiasco, soft posturing amid European invasion…and if you’ve filled your tank lately, my condolences.
It’s only March of 2022. What lies ahead?
Whatever it is, Dr. Ronny isn’t the only former Obama associate to convey a lack of confidence.
Top Barack economic advisor Steve Rattner has also leveled the Leader of the Free World.
This week, ABC News quoted Joe:
“A large contributor to inflation this month was an increase in gas and energy prices as markets reacted to Putin’s aggressive actions. As I have said from the start, there will be costs at home as we impose crippling sanctions in response to Putin’s unprovoked war…”
Is that accurate? Steve chimed in:
“Well, no. These are Feb #’s and only include small Russia effect. This is Biden’s inflation and he needs to own it.”
As noted by The Washington Free Beacon, on Thursday, American inflation hit a 40-year high.
Toward how many more highs — and lows — are we headed?
Whatever awaits, the President appears to suffer from the kind of ailments that don’t improve with time.
What will Democrats do in 2024? Will they run Joe again?
It isn’t all that likely. How could he win?
Then again, the same could be — and was — said already. Somehow, this was the path to a national inauguration:

Tags: AFGHANISTAN BARACK OBAMA CONSERVATISM GAS PRICES HEALTH INFLATION
“It’s preposterous to think this is Biden’s fault. He hasn’t done anything that would account for high gas prices at this point. It’s the Russians’ fault but the Republicans want to ban Russian oil and then blame Biden for the shortfall in supplies and therefore the rise in prices. It’s cynical, obvious and opportunistic.”
There are of course legitimate policy debates in wartime and no one suggests that a president is beyond criticism. Some Republican senators, for example, have urged Biden to accept Poland’s offer of MiG-29 fighter jets to be transferred to Ukraine. Tom Cotton said: “If we continue to blink every time Vladimir Putin says ‘boo’ it’s not going to stop in Ukraine.”
But Republicans – and the conservative Fox News channel – have made gas prices and energy production their loudest argument. It is a convenient way to deflect attention from their own complicated relationship with Russia, which is not confined to Trump’s longstanding admiration for Putin and recent comments praising him as “smart” and “savvy”.
This week Congressman Thomas Massie – one of three House Republicans who voted against a recent resolution supporting Ukraine – amplified a false conspiracy theory about US biological weapons labs operating in Ukraine. His colleague Madison Cawthorn was caught on video calling Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy a “thug” whose government is “pushing woke ideologies”.
The hypocrisy is a sign of how the party – and Washington – have changed over the past decade, added Shrum, director of the Center for the Political Future at the University of Southern California Dornsife. “There was unity for a period of time after 9/11,” he said. “But if you go back to even Syria under Barack Obama, they were playing this same kind of game.”

New Biden Whine: Americans Are Just Too Stupid to Understand the Great Job He's Doing
BY ROBERT SPENCER MAR 12, 2022 12:01 PM
Whatever else Old Joe Biden may be, in his dotage, he sure has become a whiner. At the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference on Friday, Biden lost his temper, shouting that he was “sick of this stuff,” that is, Americans blaming him for the inflation that his far-Left policies have caused. That wasn’t all that the ostensible president was enraged about, however; in the same speech, he fumed that Americans just didn’t understand the great job that he’s doing.
Biden opened this particular gambit with a full-on threat: “I’m not saying we’re over; we’re just getting going.” It’s quite clear at this point that the American people and the world at large would be a great deal better off if he didn’t do anything for the rest of his sorry term, but no such luck: his handlers are just getting started, and that means more pain is in the offing.
“And a lot of work to do,” Biden continued semi-coherently. “But never forget what we’ve accomplished together so far.” Oh, we won’t: hyperinflation, skyrocketing gas prices, war in Ukraine, a botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, the emboldening of America’s enemies worldwide, the erasure of the Southern border, unknowable numbers of criminals and terrorists streaming into the country — who could forget?
But as far as Biden is concerned, he isn’t riding high in the polls right now because the American people just aren’t capable of grasping his magnificence: “And, by the way, the American people just trying to stay above water don’t understand this. You tell them what the American Recovery Act was, and they look at you like, ‘What are you talking about?’ Understandably. They’re like my family: mom, dad, four kids, grandpop living in the house in a three-bedroom split-level home. Just every single day figuring out how you put enough food on the table, even when things are okay. Well — and on this one anniversary of the American Rescue Plan, let’s be clear: We did it alone, without one single, solitary Republican vote.”
Noted: the destruction of America has been accomplished so far without one, single, solitary Republican vote, at least in that particular instance. Unfortunately, on all too many occasions, Old Joe has not had trouble finding corrupt and compromised Republicans to go along with his nefarious plans.
But more striking is the bit about how struggling Americans “don’t understand” all the wonderful things he has supposedly done. As ridiculous as it is, this has actually become a Democrat talking point of late. As PJM’s Matt Margolis pointed out, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Absolut) said essentially the same thing on the day of Old Joe’s State of the Union rant. MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked her, “The decline in the President’s polls — even on COVID, on how he’s handled it — what can you do to turn this around?” Pelosi answered, “Well, I think tonight’s gonna be very important. Because for people to appreciate what the President has done […] they have to know what it is.”

So both Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi believe, or want us to think they believe, that the average American isn’t thrilled with Old Joe because they aren’t bright enough to inform themselves of all his great accomplishments.
It may be that Hillary Clinton was the first person to advance this absurd talking point. On MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show on Nov. 23, 2021, Clinton lamented, “You know, democracy is messy. You know, a lot of people got, oh, I think, kind of frustrated looking at the messy process of legislation, and they — they didn’t really appreciate that within a year, the Biden administration has passed two major pieces of legislation through both the House and the Senate. They passed another major piece through the House that will soon be in the Senate.”
Hillary touted these as “extraordinary accomplishments,” and complained that “because of the way we are getting our information today and because of the lack of gatekeepers and people who have a historic perspective, who can help us understand what we are seeing, there is a real vulnerability in the electorate to the kind of demagoguery and disinformation that, unfortunately, the other side is really good at exploiting.”
Yes, that’s what we need: more gatekeepers to explain to us how great Joe Biden is, as if CNN and MSNBC and the New York Times and the Washington Post and Hollywood and academia and all the rest of it weren’t enough. They all tell us we must love Big Brother, and soon enough we will, or else.

Bye, bye. Don't let the door knob hit you anywhere unpleasant.
Actually, I keep a lot (not all) of my posts pretty short and succinct. Roger, maybe you SHOULD cut back some.
James thanks but one more thing is that Senator Rich Scott is not crazy enough.
By releasing his agenda for America, Sen. Rick Scott makes other Republicans look bad, and they don’t like it one bit.

Afunny thing happened last week: a Washington politician displayed leadership, vision, and courage — all at the same time, no less!
His name is Rick Scott, the junior U.S. senator from Florida, and the former governor of that free state. He released an 11-point, 60-page agenda explaining what he thinks are the biggest problems America faces today. Not only that, he offered common-sense policy fixes. This was particularly notable because Scott is chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which is responsible for electing more Republicans to the Senate.
Scott is a principled conservative, so it came as no surprise that Democrats attacked. But what Scott might not have anticipated was how many in his own party would pile on. First behind closed doors, and then in public, senior Senate Republicans not only disavowed Scott’s policy agenda, but criticized him for even offering it. It is the second part that’s the real problem.
Nothing Is Being Done
Republican leadership in the Senate had already announced they would not release an agenda. Apparently the issue here was less the policy ideas themselves than Scott’s courage to offer them at all. Why? Because doing something makes everyone else look bad.
Yes, because hardly anyone else is doing anything. The Politico story planted by Republican leaders to punish Scott for his impertinence includes this bizarre paragraph:
[Senate Republican Leader Mitch] McConnell wants to avoid giving Democrats things to criticize over the next eight months, hoping to keep his party on offense. He believes that focusing on Biden’s low approval ratings and running as a check on the Democratic Party is the most effective midterm strategy. He’s also reluctant to embrace specific policy measures after the Senate GOP failed to repeal Obamacare after a years-long campaign against the law.
This, unfortunately, is how Beltway elites have approached politics for years: say little, do less, and wait for the pendulum of public opinion to swing back your way. In Washington, this passivity is seen as the height of strategic sophistication and message discipline. But outside the nation’s capital, with citizens playing an increasingly activist role in public affairs, its adherents have become ever more unpopular.
They are attacking Moscow Mitch etc.

Putin Mulls Seizing Assets of Foreign Companies

“Among the most lucrative assets in Russia that are at risk are airplanes… All told, the planes are worth as much as $12 billion.”
Russia Is Leveling Kharkiv
7:55 pm EST
Wall Street Journal:
“Russia’s attempt to use rapid thrusts by armored columns and assaults by paratroopers and special forces to seize the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv and other cities,
overthrowing the country’s government,
has stalled in the face of fierce resistance.
Now, Moscow is resorting to a punishing, wholesale destruction, shelling and bombing residential neighborhoods and historic downtowns.
“Kharkiv has been pulverized with particular cruelty, even though almost all of its citizens are Russian-speakers, many of whom felt affinity with Russia in the past.”

One study found that college-educated Democrats were more likely to hold false views about their political enemies than those without four-year degrees. More education generally makes people more Democratic, but not more democratic. Like Scott
We owe our beleaguered children, the victims of our inadequacy, a chance to be better than we are.
So the question isn’t just how much education, but what kind. Is it quaint, or utopian, to talk about teaching our children to be capable of governing themselves? Possibly, but I doubt it’s ever been more necessary. The COVID era, with Donald Trump out of office but still in power and with battles over mask mandates and critical race theory convulsing Twitter and school-board meetings, shows how badly Americans are able to think about our collective problems—let alone read, listen, empathize, debate, reconsider, and persuade in the search for solutions. If these habits have something to do with education—and every kindergarten teacher knows that children can be taught to compromise—then democratic citizenship can, at least in part, be learned. We owe our beleaguered children, the victims of our inadequacy, a chance to be better than we are.

People around the world are using a new website to circumvent the Kremlin’s propaganda machine by sending individual messages about the war in Ukraine to random people in Russia,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
Informed people can change their minds about their own country..and the leader like Putin

American Greatness is celebrating a Trump type Republican isolationist who died 7 years ago
Evans was also early to the problem that we know today as the “administrative state” or the “deep state.” A column in September 1960, “Who Really Runs America’s State Department?” notes that it is not really the Secretary of State who determines foreign policy, but the “unknown policy planners and memo-makers” on the fourth floor at State “who fill the Secretary’s in-basket.” While many (though not all) of the issues he confronted in the 1960s are dated, his general description in The Liberal Establishment is just as applicable today:
An establishment is, then, guided by a kind of informal junta by which a community is guided in all those things that matter. It is defined by large areas of agreement among its members on key social and political questions, and the remarkable adhesion they display in action when their views are tested by political resistance or the friction of ideas . . . Members of the Establishment know where they stand on major issues before the issues come up, because the Liberal ideology supplies them with a whole agenda of set answers to political problems . . . [There is] a common idiom and portfolio of tactics.
