Which is a rough estimate by some as to when the Russians would run out of supplies?
Oleksiy Arestovich, an adviser to the Ukrainian president’s chief of staff, says the war in Ukraine will likely to be over by early May when Russia would have run out of resources to attack its neighbour. In a video published by several Ukrainian media, Mr Arestovich said the exact timing would depend on how much resources Russia is willing to commit to the campaign.
Talks between Ukraine and Russia in which Mr Arestovich was not personally involved had so far produced few results other than several humanitarian corridors out of besieged Ukrainian cities. He said a “completely crazy” scenario could also involve Russia sending fresh conscripts after a month of training.
Well this is a far cry from a week, which is what some people believed was the timeline that Russia had prepared for. At best, we are looking at 6-8 weeks of more death and destruction, until finally the Russians just run out of bombs and ammunition? Seems like this is still a pretty grim assessment.
Of course, this advisor is also suggesting that Putin might be currently training and arming conscripts and such. Given the fact that Putin has already introduced paid mercenaries from Syria into the mix, I would offer that that idea (30 days and go) is not crazy by Putin standards. I mean back in the day, we were have said to send new recruits into Vietnam with as little as 8 weeks of training (depending on their job description).
Let's also keep in mind that on top of the 350,000 active service member of the Russian Army, that they have over a million more in what we would think of as the reserves. That would mean that these people have already gone through a basic training and have kept up with at least "some" continuing training as part of there job as reservists. So if these were the people being given 30 days and go, that seems different than some 19 year old kid just graduating from high school with no military training at all.
The real question becomes whether or not Putin is willing to do whatever it takes to win this war or if he has some semblance of sanity and abstains from the sort of things that it "might take" to overwhelm the Ukrainians. We are still looking at at nuclear power who most certainly have the ability to engage in chemical or biological weapons as well.

I found the news story that Russia sought military aid from China for its bogged down invasion of Ukraine pretty interesting.
Until I dug a little deeper.
Russia has turned to China for military equipment and aid in the weeks since it began its invasion of Ukraine, U.S. officials familiar with the matter told The Washington Post.
The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject, did not describe what kind of weaponry had been requested, or whether they know how China responded.
The development comes as White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan plans to travel to Rome on Monday to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Yang Jiechi.
Sullivan told CNN that the administration was “communicating directly, privately to Beijing, that there will absolutely be consequences” for any Chinese efforts to assist Russia in evading sanctions.”
Do you see the problem? It’s right there in the first sentence.
Russia has turned to China for military equipment and aid in the weeks since it began its invasion of Ukraine, U.S. officials familiar with the matter told The Washington Post.
“Officials familiar with the matter.”
Remember that phrase?
Remember that phrase (and similar ones) a lot from those endless “sources say” hit pieces on President Trump that turned out to be complete garbage made up out of whole cloth?
Because of that, we can never take anonymously sourced pieces that promotes the latest Democratic Media Complex line at face value ever again. How can we be sure you’re not making things up again?
We can’t.
We can never take any anonymously sourced piece in the Washington Post at face value. So we have no idea if Russia sought military aid from China or not.
That’s the problem with institutional trust. Once it’s gone, it can’t easily be replaced.
Any time you read “source says” in a piece in an MSM outlet, you should read that as “just trust me, bro!”
And we don’t.
And absent a clean sweep in management and a complete turnover of current staff, we never will again.

President Biden’s strategy of blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin for high gas prices and soaring inflation has not alleviated his dilapidated polling numbers.
Only 37 percent of voters approved of Biden after he blamed Putin for inflation, a Monday Civiqs poll revealed. Fifty-four percent disapproved.
Just 27 percent of independent voters approved of Biden. Sixty-two percent disapproved.

The “Producer Price Index” (PPI) is essentially the tracking of wholesale prices at three stages: Origination (commodity), Intermediate (processing), and then Final (to wholesale). Today, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) released February price data [Available Here] showing a dramatic 10.0% increase year-over-year in Final Demand products at the wholesale level. This is the highest rate of inflation in the PPI ever recorded.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden will travel to Europe next week for face-to-face talks with European leaders about the Russian invasion of Ukraine, White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced Tuesday.
Biden will meet with NATO and European leaders at a summit in Brussels on March 24. He will also attend a scheduled European Council summit, where efforts to impose sanctions and further humanitarian efforts are underway.
“While he’s there, his goal is to meet in person face-to-face with his European counterparts and talk about, assess where we are at this point in the conflict in the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. We’ve been incredibly aligned to date," Psaki said. “That doesn’t happen by accident. The president is a big believer in face-to-face diplomacy. So it’s an opportunity to do exactly that.”
The trip follows Vice President Kamala Harris' visit to eastern flank NATO countries of Poland and Romania last week to discuss with leaders the growing refugee crisis in eastern Europe sparked by the Russian invasion and to underscore the Biden administration's support for NATO allies.
Poland’s foreign minister Zbigniew Rau said Tuesday that a visit by Biden to Poland was "very probable” when he comes to Europe. More than 1.8 million Ukrainians have fled to Poland since the start of the war, according to the United Nations.
"It would be hard to imagine a better place for the United States and for the entire alliance to stress their position than the brightest link on the eastern flank, that Poland is,” Rau told Polish state TVP INFO.
Putin is losing his mind and the problem is that nobody has the authority to control him.
We might be facing the end of civilization.
CORRECTION: A previous version of this story said the ad would run nationally. The Republican Accountability Project later clarified that it will only run in the D.C. market.
Funny... that is probably the only place in the country that this ad would go over. I mean these people have been "disinformationed" to death and actually "believe" things like "all reports of election irregularities or fraud" is a hoax.
Normal people know better.
But hey... when all else for Democrats fail.
Bring up Trump, right?
We might be facing the end of civilization.
LMAO @ Dunning-Kruger alky troll squad asshole and it's fainting couch.
You mean "civilization" as in being trapped in a tiny box with a clown who fancies himself the 5th Beatle?

Meanwhile....
Ukrainians are being slaughtered and entire cities and towns are being leveled. But our President is going to go have some coffee with other world leaders, slap some backs, tell a joke or two... and then declare in unison that they cannot do anything other than sanctions.
Great... This is the President YOU want?

A dementia patient in the final throes of significant cognitive decline needs to go to Poland to clean up the mess made by Cum-Allah "Heels up!" Harris.
Think about that.
Sarah Bloom Raskin, President Joe Biden’s embattled nominee to the Federal Reserve, on Tuesday withdrew her candidacy to serve at the central bank, ending a weekslong partisan battle over her views on climate policy, a person familiar with the matter said.
Her withdrawal comes a day after Sen. Joe Manchin, a conservative Democrat from West Virginia, said he could not support her nomination. His defection would have made her confirmation nearly impossible in a Senate split 50-50.
This is why the President has to provide everything he needs including air force support..
I hope that President Biden succeeds
It is abundantly clear that Zelensky possesses Aristotle’s crowning virtue of greatness of soul. According to Aristotle, only grave national peril brings out the best in such men. In ordinary times, the chores of daily governing, tax policy, and so on may bore them. This was certainly true of Lincoln and Churchill, whose political careers, had they not been summoned to wartime leadership on behalf of a just cause, might have well been forgotten. Lincoln was widely viewed as an opportunist and a waffler over slavery; Churchill was seen as disloyal for switching parties and had to live down the disaster of Gallipoli.
Zelensky displays a similar pattern. Before Putin’s invasion, his popularity was in decline. There were grumblings about his offshore holdings, and his efforts to erase government corruption were only a mixed success. But like Lincoln and Churchill, he rose to meet an occasion that demanded every ounce of his character, convictions, and intelligence.
That brings us to Aristotle’s crowning virtue of prudence, a mixture of experience, steadfastness, and intelligence. Like Lincoln and Churchill, Zelensky has displayed it abundantly since Putin’s invasion. Rarely within living memory has a democratic leader had so many bombs to juggle in midair, so many corners to dodge around, so many conflicting agendas to address simultaneously. He expresses gratitude for the assistance NATO has given Ukraine, but calmly and intransigently tells them when it is not enough. He is open to negotiation but refuses any talk of surrender. He denies Putin not only eastern Ukraine but insists on the restoration of Crimea as well. All the while he shares his people’s suffering and thereby encourages them to hold on. Next to him, the leaders of much more imposing Western powers with much longer histories as far larger economies and armies look small.
Harriet Beecher Stowe remarked after meeting Lincoln that the reason he was always willing to listen to advice was that he had an inner character like “a wire cable”—flexible on tactics, but unshakable about the final goal. When the Athenian people panicked over how badly the war with Sparta was going and turned on Pericles, he calmly told them that while they changed from day to day, he remained always the same. While Zelensky’s career in public life had not been lengthy when he was plunged into the crisis of the invasion, he has found within himself this same combination of experience, flexibility, and intellectual firmness.
Aristotle also says that the best ruler must master the art of rhetoric so as to inspire his fellow citizens to act justly, although be ready to use force if noble rhetoric fails. Not only is Zelensky a fine orator, but he has extended the reach of his message through modern communications technology, addressing legislatures around the world on Zoom. It does not hurt that (like Ronald Reagan) he comes from a background as an entertainer, and so he is adept at shaping an audience. Depending on what the occasion calls for, he can be eloquent, drawing on Churchill’s Never Surrender speech before the U.K. Parliament, or he can be blunt with an undertone of mordant humor, responding to NATO shilly-shallying about where fighter jets should be sent from: “This isn’t pingpong.” He reached under the wire of Putin’s dictatorship to speak movingly to the Russian people, assuring them that Ukraine’s battle was not with them, magnanimous even to the foe. A master of rhetoric, he is also aware of the limits of rhetorical persuasion. Sometimes brute force is necessary against both the enemy and also, regrettably, some of his own people, as when he declared martial law across Ukraine.
We cannot know what the outcome of Zelensky’s stirring defense of his country against Putin’s aggression will be, or how long he will be able to hold on in Kyiv. What is clear is that Zelensky is the living embodiment at this moment of the ancient virtues prescribed by Aristotle. Manly virtue still exists, and Zelensky has reminded us of its true meaning.
Right now he is the greatest politician in the 21st century

Ya think, Dunning-Kruger alky?
I've had a couple of contractors at my house since last Thursday remodeling a couple of bathrooms.
They could not give a fuck less about Ukraine. These guys are working stiffs getting fucked at every turn by this administration watching their cost of materials rise, getting fucked at the gas pump and the grocery store, and watching their pending jobs cancel because the budget their clients had set aside for the work just got destroyed by your "GREATEST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY."
Maybe I should've told them to just 'stop being poor' and buy an EV, eh Dunning-Kruger alky?

As opposed to those of you who want to just sit and watch while innocent civilians are slaughtered and are having their cities and towns destroyed?
You really believe that if Putin cannot take on the Ukrainians (since every liberal here says Russia is losing) that they will risk war with the U.S. and NATO?
Explain that to me Denny.
You don't believe the Russians can win in Ukraine, but are afraid that they will start a fight with the 28 nations of NATO?
What is your logic here?
As I told ya so last Friday.

Not me, fuckstick.
No one, including you, has been able to demonstrate a legitimate National Interest for us to get involved.
Article 5 of the NATO charter IS NOT on the table due to the fact that, despite what Cum-Allah believes, Ukraine IS NOT part of NATO. Nor should they be in my opinion.
Since the turn of the century NATO has been more of a pain in the ass than it's worth, enraging folks like Putin with the constant encroachment on his western border by the addition of more and more Eastern European members with no demonstrable benefit to the US.
So we've driven Russia and China in to a tighter alliance than ever before, and Pooty Poot invades Ukraine after watching our clusterfuck of a dumpster fire of a train wreck withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The way we fled Afghanistan ALONE signaled to the world that our adversaries can do whatever the fuck they want, and with the drooling imbecile "GREATEST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY"* in the white house and his "Heels Up!" $10 whore, there's no one in DC with the intellect or will to stop them.
Iran's hostilities are on the rise, and I can only imagine the phone calls that Xi and Putin must be having.

POSTED ON MARCH 15, 2022 BY STEVEN HAYWARD IN RUSSIA, UKRAINE
IS RUSSIA’S INVASION FAILING?
It is hard to know what information to trust about the situation in the Ukrainian war. A few days ago the Financial Times, which isn’t perfect (what media outlet is these days?) but fairly sober about its news reporting standards, ran a long story outlining what it saw as the significant failures of the Russian invasion:
In the first phase of its offensive, the Kremlin’s military story is one of failure.
Western defence officials have estimated Russian casualties at between 2,000 and 6,000. Based on ratios in similar conflicts, that implies three to four times as many captured and wounded. At its midpoint, such an estimate is more, in three weeks, than the losses of US and UK servicemen combined during 20 years in Afghanistan.
Russia’s losses in materiel are also significant. The Oryx blog has recorded 1,034 Russian vehicles, artillery pieces and aircraft destroyed, damaged, abandoned or captured. These include 173 tanks, 261 armoured and infantry fighting vehicles, and 28 surface-to-air missile systems.
Justin Bronk, research fellow at the UK’s Royal United Services Institute, who co-wrote a book on Russia’s military modernisation under Putin, said the losses “are massively more than in any other recent conflict” including Georgia, Chechnya or Afghanistan in the 1980s.
One of the odd details that jumped out at me was this:
When, several days in, Russian commanders realised they needed to pivot to using more serious firepower, they did so chaotically: huge columns of tanks and artillery moved forward, but the Ukrainians blew up bridges, causing advances to stall. Russian planners appear to have failed to anticipate this basic response, another western military official said, pointing out that engineering units and bridge builders were not even near the front of the advance in some columns.
