Until you can create a time machine, go back in time, and make election challenges and the concept of alternate electors illegal....
Look, this is real simple gang. The mainstream legal opining from the left has created a fake narrative that it is somehow illegal to challenge an election, use the constitutional processes that are in place at the state levels to overturn results, and ultimately even question the legitimacy of an election result.
If this was true, then everyone who suggested the concept and in some cases attempted to convince electors to become "faithless electors" and switch their vote to Hillary Clinton over Trump would have been guilty of Treason. Obviously these calls were made to provide her with the ultimate electoral college victory even though she lost on paper. While we have had faithless electors in the past, these electors have never overturned an election. But technically they could. Moreover, it would not be illegal if happened and it would certainly not be illegal to suggest it.
But is there a legal manner for a State Legislatures to overturn the results of that state's election? While liberal legal minds (today) are lockstep in demanding there is no manner, many others argue differently and ultimately the question is not as simple as it appears. For starters an election must be "certified' at the state level and that certification process is different in different states. But ultimately any state that does not "certify" the results before the safe harbor day constitutionally allows for the State's legislatures to step in and provide a set of electors. If a certification was tied up in court, a state legislature could also step in after the safe harbor date.
In fact, we have had multiple elections where multiple states have had more than one slate of electors. Nobody was charged with treason or went to jail. The reality is that when it boils down to these sorts of murky constitutional questions, someone is going to get a favorable court ruling (if it comes to that) while someone is not. But nobody is a criminal for being wrong.
So this is where the liberal media has gaslighted their sheep. They have already determined that they know all the answers to the constitutional questions at hand and that there would be no need for any court rulings to confirm their infinite wisdom. They then have convinced their faithful lock step followers that it is literally a crime just to disagree with them. Then, they can dishonestly suggest that a text message suggesting that there was a constitutional path to overturning 2020 is a crime. Moreover that crime is likely "treason".
Now I am not sure which is worse. The concept that these people all know that they are lying and are just trying to distract from the disaster that is Biden and the many many Democratic failures? Or if they are really so delusional and obsessed with their Trump derangement syndrome that they have literally convinced themselves that 2020 was different from every other election in the history of our country and that the mere suggestion Biden was not a legitimate winner or the mere suggestion that there were other options is actually a treasonist crime.
Must suck to be that desperate and hateful all the time.

Rep. Cheney says it is 'it is absolutely clear that what President Trump was doing ... was unlawful'
By Daniella Diaz, CNN
Updated 1 hour ago Apr 10, 2022
(CNN) - Rep. Liz Cheney said Sunday that the House select committee investigating the January 6th insurrection has "not made a decision" on criminal referrals to the Department of Justice, but added it is "absolutely clear that what President Trump was dealing with when a number of people around him were doing that they knew it was unlawful. They did it anyway."
"I think what we have seen is a massive and well-organized and well-planned effort that used multiple tools to try to overturn an election," the Wyoming Republican told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."
Cheney, who serves on the committee, also pushed back on a Sunday New York Times article which said the committee is split on whether to refer Trump for criminal contempt, saying "There's not really a dispute on the committee."
"The committee is working in a really collaborative way to discuss these issues as we are with all of the issues we're addressing and we'll continue to work together to do so," she said. "I wouldn't characterize there being a dispute on the committee. I think it is the single most collaborative committee on which I've ever served."
When asked about the committee's interview with Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump, Cheney said "her testimony was helpful," but did not provide further detail. Ivanka Trump voluntarily met with the committee for close to eight hours last week.

Cheney Says Panel Isn’t Divided Over Trump Referral
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) disputed a report which said the House select Committee was split over whether to refer Donald Trump to the Department of Justice for criminal charges regarding his attempt to overturn the 2020 election, leading to the Capitol attack,
The Guardian reports.
Said Cheney:
“There’s not really a dispute on the committee.”
It's nothing to do with hatred of Trump.
If the congressional investigation leads to inditable changes the DOJ can call a Grand Jury and eventually could lead to indictments on Trump, and or other people who were involved.
If he refuses to show up, the FBI can arrest him 😤

Trump Claims He’s the ‘Most Honest Human Being’ Ever
“Former president Donald Trump, who has been caught lying about topics ranging from the size of the crowd at his 2017 inauguration to the 2020 election being ‘rigged and stolen’ (it wasn’t), claimed at a Saturday night rally that he is ‘the most honest human being perhaps that God ever created,’”
Rolling Stone reports.
Said Trump:
“I’ve gotta be the cleanest sheriff. I think I’m the most honest human being, perhaps, that God ever created, perhaps.”
_______
DID HE EVER SAY HE WAS ALSO THE MOST HUMBLE HUMAN BEING WHO EVER LIVED?
(WELL, HE DID SAY "PERHAPS" DIDN'T HE? HA HA HA HA!)
The Guardian is one of the best sources.
A key Republican on the House January 6 committee disputed a report which said the panel was split over whether to refer Donald Trump to the Department of Justice for criminal charges regarding his attempt to overturn the 2020 election, leading to the Capitol attack.
“There’s not really a dispute on the committee,” the Wyoming representative Liz Cheney told CNN’s State of the Union.
The New York Times said otherwise on Sunday, in a report headlined: “January 6 Panel Has Evidence for Criminal Referral of Trump, but Splits on Sending.”
“The debate centers on whether making a referral – a largely symbolic act – would backfire by politically tainting the justice department’s expanding investigation into the January 6 assault and what led up to it,” the paper said.
Citing “members and aides”, the Times said such sources were reluctant to support a referral because it would create the impression Democrats had asked the attorney general, Merrick Garland, to investigate Trump.
Cheney said: “We have not made a decision about referrals on the committee … [but] it’s actually clear that what President Trump was dealing with, what a number of people around him were doing, that they knew it was awful. That they did it anyway.”
She was speaking two days after CNN reported that the January 6 committee had obtained text messages in which Donald Trump Jr laid out election subversion tactics to Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, just two days after election day.
No simple answers.
Garland has to juggle competing priorities lest he politicize his department, while being extra careful to ensure any charges he may bring against Trump will stand up in court.
The safest course would be to demand considerably more evidence of guilt than you’d require in any other case
“Garland’s between the rock of defending one justice department ideal and the hard place of protecting another. On one hand, no person is above the law. On the other hand, the department needs to avoid, as much as possible consistent with the first ideal, appearing political,” Aftergut said.
“There’s nothing easy about the position Garland’s in,” Aftergut added. “The safest course, before considering a prosecution of a former president, would be to demand considerably more evidence of guilt than you’d require in any other case.”
Ayer added: “Garland is right not to be discussing the specifics of whether and how Trump may be indicted,” a stance Garland has adopted to protect the DoJ’s credibility as not political. At the same time, Ayer suggested that Garland “should spend more time talking to the country about impartial justice and the idea that no person is above the law”.
There are clear risks in moving too fast to appease critics.
“Garland must make his decisions based on the law in relation to the facts,” the former federal prosecutor Michael Zeldin said. “The more politicians endeavor to pressure Garland to act, it runs the risk that any decision Garland makes will be seen as politically motivated rather than based on purely legal considerations.”
That seems to fit with Garland’s approach. In his 5 January speech this year, Garland emphasized, “we follow the physical evidence. We follow the digital evidence. We follow the money. But most important, we follow the facts – not an agenda or an assumption. The facts tell us where to go next.”
And, if there is enough evidence, following the rules could end up with Trump getting charged.
“DoJ will never announce that it is investigating Trump and his inner circle. Such an announcement would violate DoJ policy to neither confirm nor deny the existence of an investigation,” said Barbara McQuade, a professor from practice at the University of Michigan Law School and a former attorney for the eastern district in Michigan.
Garland, McQuade added, “is avoiding the mistake FBI director Jim Comey made in investigating Hillary Clinton, for which Comey was properly criticized”, referring to two status reports about the investigation made in the months before the 2016 election.
Ultimately, McQuade said that Garland’s “biggest challenge will be proving that Trump had corrupt intent or intent to defraud, both of which would require proving that he knew his fraud claims were false. It can be very difficult to prove what was in someone’s mind, but it is not impossible.”
Garland would have been an excellent justice on The Supreme Court. That McConnell blocked.
I don't know if he will be indicted yet 🤔

Ukraine, however, has not yet won the war. With their defeat in the Battle of Kyiv, the Russians have started to concentrate in the east and south of Ukraine, hoping to set up a defensive perimeter that the Ukrainians will have to attack if they hope to regain lost territory. The Ukrainian way of war will have to adapt. The Ukrainians, having witnessed the Russian failures in heavy assault, may decide to avoid making the same mistakes and instead continue their light, attritional warfare. This will probably not result in a swift end to the war, but it offers the possibility of draining Russian military and political will, allowing Ukraine to achieve many of its aims in negotiations. The Ukrainian way of war could yet achieve what once seemed all but impossible: victory.

Some people are normal Republican 🙄.
Governor of Alabama kay ivey (R) went all in on donald trump’s “Big Lie” with his campaign ad criticizing those who supposedly “stole” the elections from the former president.
Ivey left little room for subtlety in his video titled “Theft,” in which he proclaims, “Fake news, big tech, and blue state liberals stole the election from President Trump.”
“But here in Alabama, we’re making sure that never happens,” he continues. “We have not, and will not, send absentee ballots to everyone and his brother. We prohibit corrupt curbside voting and our results will always be audited. I’m Kay Ivey. The left is probably offended. So be it. As long as I’m governor, we’re going to protect your vote.”
Ivey’s announcement produced no evidence to support his claims, though they echo Trump’s myriad claims that the election was corrupted by massive fraud and rigged against him. Those claims have been repeatedly rejected by the courts and by Trump’s former attorney general, billbarr.
Alabama Local News contacted Ivey’s team and his campaign manager william caliph he duplicated his video.
Governor Ivey supported Trump and fought to secure our elections. Here in Alabama, we didn’t have the problems that other states had. Governor Ivey will continue to stand firm and make sure our elections are secure so that what happened to President Trump in other states never happens in any election in Alabama.
Ivey’s announcement comes after Trump revoked his endorsement of the congressman Mo Brooks’ (R-AL) Senate campaign, claiming he did it because Brooks didn’t do enough to push his election claims. Trump subsequently declined to say whether he would ever support a Republican who disagrees with his claims.
Become a rational person again if you can.

That is a derangement syndrome.

60 elite Russian paratroopers refused to fight in the invasion of Ukraine, report says
Alia Shoaib
At least 60 Russian paratroopers from a unit in Pskov province refused to fight in Ukraine, a report says.
Up to 60 Russian paratroopers from one unit in Pskov province refused to fight in Ukraine, according to independent Russian newspaper Pskovskaya Gubernia.
The troops were fired, and some were threatened with criminal prosecution for desertion or failure to comply with an order, the paper wrote on its Telegram channel.
Insider was unable to verify the report independently.
Pskovskaya Gubernia is a Russian newspaper known for its independent reporting. Amid the country's crackdown on independent media, last month authorities raided the paper's offices and the homes of senior employees, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
Local activist Nikolay Kuzmin, who is affiliated with the opposition Yabloko party in Russia, appeared to corroborate the report on Telegram.
Kuzmin said he spoke to a driver who transported some of the paratroopers from Belarus back to Pskov, an important base for Russia's airborne forces.
Russia's military's airborne force, the VDV, has suffered heavy losses in Ukraine, which has dented their previous "elite" status.
One unit within the VDV, the renowned 331st Guards Parachute Regiment, lost its commander, Col. Sergei Sukharev, and at least 39 other members.
Russian forces have suffered heavy losses since it began its invasion of Ukraine, and reports suggest that morale is deteriorating.
The Pskov paratroopers are not the only ones reported to have refused to fight.
At least 11 members of Russia's Rosgvardia National Guard in the Khakassia region similarly rebelled, Newsweek reported, citing Russian-language news outlet New Focus.
Human rights lawyer Pavel Chikhov said on Telegram that Captain Farid Chitav and 11 of his Rosgvardia subordinates refused to invade Ukraine on February 25 because the orders were "illegal," Newsweek said.
Some captured Russians have said that their leaders lied to them about the plan to invade Ukraine, which left them unprepared for the fierce resistance.
Despite the Russian military's many advantages, it has failed to achieve the swift victory it had hoped for in Ukraine.
UK intelligence chief Jeremy Fleming said that Russian President Vladimir Putin "massively misjudged" the situation before invading, partly because his advisers are "afraid to tell him the truth."
NATO estimated last month that between 7,000 and 15,000 Russian soldiers had been killed in action in Ukraine.
In a rare frank admission, a Kremlin spokesman admitted on Sky News on Thursday that Russia had "significant losses of troops and it's a huge tragedy for us."

Jr. was all in on the coup and demanding misuse of the government to investigate Trump's enemies."
"We either have a vote WE control and WE win OR it gets kicked to Congress 6 January 2021," said Trump Jr.
His final suggestion was having the White House dismiss FBI Director Christopher Wray, who angered Trump and his allies by not releasing information that they believed would be harmful to the former president's rivals.
"Fire Wray," the president's son told Meadows, adding that former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell should replace him.
Later that same day, Grenell announced that he was joining Trump campaign officials in filing a lawsuit to "stop the counting of illegal votes."
"Jr. was all in on the coup and demanding misuse of the government to investigate Trump's enemies," said New Yorker staff writer Susan Glasser.
Trump Jr.'s text messages were revealed less than two weeks after a federal judge found that the former president and his lawyer likely committed a felony in their efforts to overturn the election by filing dozens of lawsuits and demanding vote recounts—which took place in several states and never unveiled any irregularities that would have changed the outcome of the vote.

New York Times:
“In the early days of the invasion, NATO countries were quick to send short-range, defensive weapons to take out tanks and aircraft, including Javelin, NLAW and Stinger missiles, which were light, portable, high-tech and easy to use with little training.
“But now the allied governments have shown a willingness to send heavier weaponry more suited to the coming battle in Donbas, including tanks and longer-range defensive weapons such as the S-300s, a Russian-made surface-to-air system used mainly to attack enemy aircraft.”

Appearing on MSNBC on Sunday afternoon with host Yasmin Vossoughian, Washington Post correspondent Josh Dawsey provided details about his visit with Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort and pointed out that the former president lives in a fantasyland where everyone loves him and they stand and applaud whenever he enters or leaves a room.
Dawsey interviewed the twice-impeached former president earlier in the week, where Trump claimed would have liked to have marched on the Capitol on Jan 6th while also boasting about the size of the crowd on the day of the insurrection.
Noting Dawsey's description of the setting when he sat down with Trump, she asked him what the former president's life is like after he lost his bid for re-election.
After quoting from Dawsey's story, the MSNBC host prompted, "It seems as if Mar-a-Lago is its own reality, its own bubble"
"What's striking is that he has hordes of people who surround him, a lot of them paying to be there, either working for him or paying to be there or in fund-raisers there," Dawsey explained. "He basks in adulation, every time he walks in the room everyone stands up and cheers. When he leaves, everyone stands up and cheers."
'His presidency was a quite polarizing presidency, he had loyal supporters but struggled to convert independents and moderates and others," the reporter continued. "That's why he was a one-term president. But down there, everyone around him loves him. It's kind of a surreal place to be where everybody in every room, he's the center of the universe there."

A Texas district attorney announced Sunday his office will drop a murder charge against a woman for an alleged "self-induced abortion."
Catch up fast: Lizelle Herrera, 26, was arrested Thursday and held at the Starr County jail in Rio Grande City until Saturday. She was charged with murder for causing "the death of an individual by self-induced abortion."
Driving the news: Gocha Allen Ramirez, district attorney for Duval, Jim Hogg and Starr counties, said his office will file to dismiss the murder charge against Herrera on Monday.
"In reviewing applicable Texas law, it is clear that Ms. Herrera cannot and should not be prosecuted for the allegation against her," Ramirez said.
He added: "The issues surrounding this matter are clearly contentious, however based on Texas law and the facts presented, it is not a criminal matter."
The big picture: Texas has the most restrictive abortion ban in the U.S. The law, Senate Bill 8 (S.B. 8), took effect last September.
Surrounding states have seen a nearly 800% rise in abortion patients from Texas from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, 2021, Axios' Oriana Gonzalez writes.

I saw this this morning. George Bush wanted Ukraine to join NATO but. Bush was not a great President but compared to....
Ukraine's foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba said Sunday that Germany and France made a "strategic mistake" when they previously opposed Ukraine's admission to NATO.
What he's saying: "If we were a member of NATO, this war wouldn't take place," Kuleba said on NBC's "Meet the Press."
"The strategic mistake that was made in 2008 by Germany and France who rejected the efforts of the United States and other allies to bring Ukraine in is something that we're paying for. It's not Germany or France that are paying the costs for this mistake. It's Ukraine."
The backdrop: NATO decided not to offer Ukraine a path toward membership in 2008 after France and Germany opposed its admission.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration will come out with its long-awaited ghost gun rule — aimed at reining in privately made firearms without serial numbers that are increasingly cropping up at crime scenes — as soon as Monday, three people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.
Completion of the rule comes as the White House and the Justice Department have been under growing pressure to crack down on gun deaths and violent crime in the U.S.
What You Need To Know
For nearly a year, the ghost gun rule has been making its way through the federal regulation process
Gun safety groups and Democrats in Congress have been pushing for the Justice Department to finish the rule for months
It will probably be met with heavy resistance from gun groups and draw litigation in the coming weeks
Nearly 24,000 ghost guns were recovered by law enforcement at crime scenes and reported to the government from 2016 to 2020, according to Justice Department statistics
The White House has also been weighing naming Steve Dettelbach, a former U.S. attorney from Ohio, to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, or ATF, the people said. Biden had to withdraw the nomination of his first nominee, gun-control advocate David Chipman, after the nomination stalled for months because of opposition from Republicans and some Democrats in the Senate.
For nearly a year, the rule has been making its way through the federal regulation process. Gun safety groups and Democrats in Congress have been pushing for the Justice Department to finish the rule for months. It will probably be met with heavy resistance from gun groups and draw litigation in the coming weeks.
The exact timing of the announcement hasn't been set, the people said. They could not discuss the matter publicly and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity. The White House declined to comment.
On Sunday, the Senate's top Democrat, Sen. Chuck Schumer, of New York, implored the administration to move faster.
“It’s high time for a ghost gun exorcism before the proliferation peaks, and before more people get hurt — or worse,” Schumer said in a statement. “My message is a simple one: No more waiting on these proposed federal rules." Ghost guns are "too easy to build, too hard to trace and too dangerous to ignore.”
Justice Department statistics show that nearly 24,000 ghost guns were recovered by law enforcement at crime scenes and reported to the government from 2016 to 2020. It is hard to say how many are circulating on the streets, in part because in many cases police departments don’t contact the government about the guns because they can’t be traced.
The rule is expected to change the current definition of a firearm under federal law to include unfinished parts, like the frame of a handgun or the receiver of a long gun.
In its proposed rule released last May, the ATF said it was also seeking to require manufacturers and dealers who sell ghost gun parts to be licensed by the federal government and require federally licensed firearms dealers to add a serial number to any unserialized guns they plan to sell.
The rule would also require firearms dealers to run background checks before they sell ghost gun kits that contain parts needed to assemble a firearm.
Reverend....
Last I checked Trump is not President anymore. I am looking at his favorabilities RIGHT NOW in comparison to others.
Oh... and right now, Biden is minus 12.5% in the RCP averages.
Oh... and also... he leads Biden in head to head 2024 hypothetical polling by nearly 4% still.
Reverend...
You should know as a man of the cloth that it is actions and deeds that define a person. You cannot just "claim to be a good person" and expect that this excuses bad behavior.
You can demand that you have good reason to hate Donald Trump all you want. But it is still hatred of a person you don't even know and basically just disagree with politically. It is still wrong and you are still obsessive about it.
I promise you this... Just like I wasn't still posting about Obama in 2018, I won't be posting about Biden a year after he is no longer President. Heck, I even stopped posting about Clinton in spite of the fact that she did way worse (legally speaking) back in 2016 than Trump did (as there are no actual specific laws to cite - other than generic catch all things like "treason").
But you and Roger and crazy washed up former politicians on the rise like Liz Cheney cannot get over Trump and apparently have no interest in even trying.
Your hero Trump called him to genius and you have never condemned him like you do to me and James.

Scott one of the Democrats gave Mike Pence credit and it is hard to prove him guilty.
And said that Trump would use the investigation as a weapon.
Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-California, 19th District), a committee member, argued that a criminal referral is unnecessary because it carries no legal weight. Instead, she pointed toward a federal judge ruling that Trump “more likely than not” tried to “corruptly” obstruct the congressional certification of the 2020 election.
“Maybe we will, maybe we won’t,” she said of the potential referral. “It doesn’t have a legal impact.”
She emphasized the ruling by U.S. District Judge David O. Carter of the Central District of California.
“If you read his decision, I think it’s quite telling,” she said. “He and we have reviewed a huge amount of documents, and he reached a conclusion that he outlined in very stark terms.”
Carter’s ruling concerned whether the committee could get their hands on 111 emails written by the so-called “coup memo” author, lawyer and former law professor John Eastman. He ultimately decided the congresspeople could take a look at 101, with the remainder he considered “entirely non-substantive.” Though evidence “clearly supports” Eastman and Trump and his campaign having an attorney-client relationship between Jan. 4 and 7, 2021, Eastman had encouraged then-Vice President Mike Pence to violate the Electoral Count Act, the judge determined. In other words, this is an exception to attorney-client privilege.
“The illegality of the plan was obvious,” Carter wrote.. “Our nation was founded on the peaceful transition of power, epitomized by George Washington laying down his sword to make way for democratic elections. Ignoring this history, President Trump vigorously campaigned for the Vice President to single-handedly determine the results of the 2020 election. As Vice President Pence stated, ‘no Vice President in American history has ever asserted such authority.’ Every American—and certainly the President of the United States—knows that in a democracy, leaders are elected, not installed. With a plan this ‘BOLD,’ President Trump knowingly tried to subvert this fundamental principle.”

The problem with Fox “News,” the cable TV channel, isn’t just what it is — it’s also what it isn’t.
It is often a purveyor of propaganda and misinformation. What it’s not is a source of “news” — at least not by any normal definition.
According to Broockman and Kalla, when these Fox viewers watched CNN, they heard about all sorts of things Fox wasn’t telling them.
That’s one of the conclusions I drew from a fascinating new study in which arch-conservative Fox TV viewers were paid to watch CNN for a month. The study, titled “The manifold effects of partisan media on viewers’ beliefs and attitudes: A field experiment with Fox News viewers,” was performed by a pair of political scientists: David Broockman, who teaches at UC-Berkeley, and Joshua Kalla, who teaches at Yale.
According to Broockman and Kalla, when these Fox viewers watched CNN, they heard about all sorts of things Fox wasn’t telling them. They processed that information. They took it in. They became more knowledgeable about what was really going on in the United States.
The experiment didn’t change their political preferences — certainly not in just one month. But it slightly altered their perceptions of certain key issues and political candidates.
The study authors differentiated between “traditionally emphasized forms of media influence,” like agenda setting and framing, and what they call “partisan coverage filtering”: the choice to selectively report information about selective topics, based on what’s favorable to the network’s partisan side, and ignore everything else.
Right-wing media amplifies unfounded theory promoted by Russian state media
One lesson here is that Fox viewers are reachable with real news. While fact-checks have been known to get people to believe falsehoods even more strongly, plain news — and even opinionated news — still registers.
But the biggest takeaway for me is the realization that Fox viewers aren’t just manipulated and misinformed — they are literally being made ignorant by their consumption habits. Watching Fox, they hear a lot of “news-like” things, but they don’t learn about what’s really happening.
And here’s where we in the mainstream media can do something useful: We can stop talking about Fox like it’s a different form of news — and start talking about how it isn’t news at all. It’s the opposite of news. It’s instead of news. It’s the absence of news.
We can explain more clearly that real news organizations present viewers with the information they need regardless of whether it hurts or helps a specific cause or political party.
Mainstream, reality-based journalists have been way too charitable to Fox over the years, partly because the network once employed some of them, and partly to maintain the façade of political neutrality.
But it’s time to firmly declare that Fox is not news.
It is evident here every day.
What the fuck Roger?
Did you just cut and paste an entire website?
The study started with 763 far-right loyal Fox News viewers, then randomly assigned 40 percent to a “treatment” group. That group was then paid $15 an hour to watch up to seven hours of CNN per week during September 2020, during prime-time hours. Participants were given quizzes to make sure they were paying attention.
Mainstream, reality-based journalists have been way too charitable to Fox over the years, partly because the network did once employ some of them.
It found that CNN and Fox were covering dramatically different things that month. The severity of Covid and the Trump administration’s failures to control it “were by far the most common topics on CNN” — even as Fox downplayed it and praised Trump’s behavior. By contrast, Fox News spent 15,236 words discussing “Biden/Democrats support for extreme racial ideology/protests,” to CNN’s 1,300.
The study found that the CNN-watching group was “much more likely to see issues covered on CNN (COVID-19) instead of on Fox News (racial protests) as important.” The group also “became more likely to agree that if Donald Trump made a mistake, Fox News would not cover it.”
One particularly hopeful finding was that watching CNN caused Fox viewers “to become substantially more supportive of vote-by-mail than the control group.” Both networks covered the topic extensively, with CNN emphasizing facts about how secure it is, and Fox falsely hawking its susceptibility to fraud. Republican measures to block Democratic constituencies from voting and challenge results not to their liking depend heavily on Republican voters believing lies about Democrats engaging in
(Notably, attitudes around race, climate change and policing remained unchanged.)
The study authors’ assertion that partisan slants happen on both sides of the cable news spectrum is the one false note in their report. Fox and CNN are not different flavors of news, they are different things entirely. News organizations with any legitimate claim to that title do not keep important information from the public based on which party it benefits. CNN — or primetime MSNBC — may be opinionated, but they remain fundamentally fact-based. Fox does not. (MSNBC, like NBC News, is part of NBCUniversal.)
You could certainly argue — and I do — that corporate news does its own kind of coverage filtering. There are all sorts of things the corporate media decides not to cover that independent journalists do, like poverty, mass incarceration, U.S.-caused civilian casualties, how the Washington agenda is skewed by money, and these days, pretty much anything that is good news for Biden.
But mainstream media still bases its reports on evidence, not on whim. It doesn’t hide key elements of an ongoing story, under any circumstance. Fox cannot say the same.
Because they tell the whole story not like you.
I read very rapidly
In one minute I read it and understood that it says.
I'm very lucky that my memory is still incredible..
The study shows you

Moscow attacked the neighboring state in late February, following Ukraine’s failure to implement the terms of the Minsk agreements signed in 2014, and Russia’s eventual recognition of the Donbass republics in Donetsk and Lugansk. The German and French brokered Minsk Protocol was designed to regularize the status of the regions within the Ukrainian state.
Russia has since demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join the US-led NATO military bloc. Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked and has denied claims it was planning to retake the two republics by force.

Russia has made a “massive strategic blunder” as Finland and Sweden look poised to join Nato as early as the summer, according to officials.
Washington is banking on the move that will stretch Russia’s military and enlarge the western alliance from 30 to 32 members as a direct consequence of President Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
The January 6th committee will pursue changes changes against Trump. Late night news 😴..

TPM
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), vice chair of the Jan. 6 Select Committee, on Sunday denied there is a dispute among members of the panel over whether to issue a criminal referral for former President Trump.
Earlier Sunday, the New York Times reported that leaders of the committee are divided over making a criminal referral of Trump to the Justice Department, despite the panel having concluded that it has enough evidence to proceed with the referral. Some members of the committee are reportedly concerned that such a referral could potentially politicize the Justice Department’s investigation into Jan. 6.
During an interview on CNN, Cheney said that the committee has not made a decision about referrals, but she thinks “that it is absolutely the case.”
“It’s absolutely clear that what President Trump was doing, what a number of people around him were doing, that they knew it was unlawful,” Cheney said. “They did it anyway.”
Asked about the Times’ report during an interview, Cheney rejected the notion of a dispute within the committee over a criminal referral of Trump.
“The committee is working in a really collaborative way to discuss these issues, as we are with all of the issues we’re addressing,” Cheney said. “And we will continue to work together to do so. So I wouldn’t characterize there as being a dispute on the committee.”
Cheney added that she views the panel, which is made up of seven Democrats and two Republicans, as “the single most collaborative committee” she has ever served on.
“I’m very proud of the bipartisan way in which we’re operating,” Cheney said. “And I’m confident that we will work to come to agreement on all of the issues that we’re facing.”

GOP Strategist Spots Ominous Warning Sign For Trump That Even He Can See
Ed Mazza
Mon, April 11, 2022, 1:05 AM
Donald Trump has long equated crowd size with success ― reportedly even bragging of the size of the mob that attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in an attempt to block the certification of the election and keep him in power.
GOP strategist Susan Del Percio said Trump’s now falling short by that measure as his rally crowds shrink.
“That’s what you saw there,” she told MSNBC’s Cori Coffin one day after Trump addressed a surprisingly sparse crowd in Selma, North Carolina. “A very shrinking base.”
Local newspaper The News & Observer said Trump spoke to about 1,000-2,000 people ― a far cry from the 15,000 that turned out for him at the same venue in 2016.
“Those crowds are getting smaller and people aren’t buying into it, mostly because Republicans want to move on. They don’t want to talk about the Big Lie,” Del Percio said in a clip posted by Raw Story. “The people of this country don’t want to hear about it anymore.”
The Selma event was the second in recent weeks marked by low turnout. In late March, he spoke at a rally in Georgia to a crowd local media called the smallest he’s had in the area since the 2016 election.
Del Percio called it a sign rank-and-file Republicans want to move on.
“They’re done with Donald Trump and his lies except for a small group that we see there,” she said.

Why is the GOP siding with Putin?
Thom Hartmann
So here we are:
Putin runs rigged elections and the GOP is openly working to rig elections in over 20 states.Putin trash-talks LGBTQ people and the GOP has put homophobia at the center of their 2022 electoral strategy.Putin embraces white nationalism in Russia, just as the GOP does here.Putin has “actively cultivated neo-Nazism” both in Russia and “in the United States” while the GOP lionizes Kyle Rittenhouse and embraces American neoNazi movements.Putin has contempt for the rule of law while the GOP embraces people who tried to overthrow the government of the United States.Putin put so much money into the NRA that they’d become, as NPR described the result of the Senate investigation, a “Foreign Asset To Russia Ahead of 2016,” shoveling cash and support to Republican candidates.Putin frequently lies to his people about things that are easily disproven…the same as Trumpy Republicans do on an almost daily basis.Putin shuts down independent news media, while Trump and some Republicans call media in the US “the enemy of the people.”Putin attacks science in Russia as Republicans do here in the US.Putin promotes a muscular “Christianity” through corrupt preachers who openly defy the teachings of Jesus, as does the GOP.Putin’s politicians are funded by rightwing oligarchs, just like Republican politicians are here.Putin hates “liberals” and civil rights protestors, just like the GOP (which has gone so far as to legalize running them down with cars).
Our media seems confused by all this in ways reminiscent of Bob Dylan’s Ballad of a Thin Man:
“’Cause something is happening here, And you don't know what it is, Do you, Mister Jones?”
But Americans are starting to figure out the game. It sure ain’t calculus: this is simple one-plus-one addition.
As DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison said on my program months ago about the GOP, and recently repeated on MSNBC: “It is a party built on fraud, fear and fascism.”
Republicans are increasingly voting with Putin because they hope to turn America into something that looks and works very much like Putin’s Russia. It’s very comfortable for the morbidly rich oligarchs and their wholly-owned politicians as well.
And to put the frosting on the proverbial cake, CNN is reporting this just happened in the US House of Representatives:
Kristin Wilson @kristin__wilsonSix GOP House members voted against a bill that would require the State Dept to report and preserve evidence of war crimes committed by Russian forces in Ukraine. Tom Massie (KY) Scott Perry (PA) Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) Warren Davidson (OH) Andy Biggs (AZ) Paul Gosar (AZ)

When a Superpower Is Led by a War Criminal
Tom Friedman:
“It is hard to believe, but now impossible to deny, that the broad framework that kept much of the world stable and prospering since the end of the Cold War has been seriously fractured by Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. In ways we hadn’t fully appreciated, a lot of that framework rested on the West’s ability to coexist with Putin as he played ‘bad boy,’ testing the limits of the world order but never breaching them at scale.”
“But with Putin’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, his indiscriminate crushing of its cities and mass killings of Ukrainian civilians, he went from “bad boy” to “war criminal.” And when the leader of Russia — a country that spans 11 time zones, with vast oil, gas and mineral resources and more nuclear warheads than anyone else — is a war criminal and must be henceforth treated as a pariah, the world as we’ve known it is profoundly changed. Nothing can work the same.”
Whoever posted 7:46 (Roger, I suppose) posted a great progressive commentator. I wish I had found him earlier.

Biden mocked the ruble as "rubble." But the Russian currency has rebounded.
The value of the Russian ruble tumbled 30% after the U.S., European Union and U.K. first issued sanctions in response to the nation's war on Ukraine. That plunge — which in early March lowered the ruble's value against the U.S. dollar to less than 1 cent — prompted President Biden last month to mock the currency as "rubble."
But the ruble has bounced back, almost doubling its value from its low point on March 7. The recent gains mean the currency is now back to its level before sanctions were imposed by the U.S. and other nations.
Reasons for that rebound include support from the Russian government, as well as ongoing purchases of Russian energy from the European Union and other nations, Jane Foley, head of FX Strategy for Rabobank London, told CBS News. Even with the broad-based sanctions, Russia continues to export oil, gas and coal, with Bloomberg Economics estimating that the nation's energy exports will surge by one-third this year to $321 billion.

“Another Trumpworld stalwart, Stephen Miller, stopped all involvement and employment with the McCormick campaign after Trump’s Oz endorsement.”
Said Sean Parnell, the former Trump-backed candidate, who dropped out of the race after an abuse allegations surfaced:
“I have enormous respect for President Trump. I was honored to have his endorsement in PA. Twice. But I’m disappointed by this. Oz is the antithesis of everything that made Trump the best president of my lifetime.”

Musk not joining Twitter board now. Sou,d's like they wanted to control him as a board member. Now seem like he has more freedom.
One of the conditions of becoming a board member was that he NOT become a majority shareholder.
Rejecting the board seat frees him to buy a majority stake and really disrupt the platform.

I just read an interesting article by Thom Hartmann about how the GOP is so desperate for bad things to say that it ridiculously is trying to paint all Democrats as pedophiles, pedophiles, pedophiles.
That would be the same Thom Hartmann who was collecting a paycheck from Putin when he worked for RT - Russian Television.
LOL.
World's richest man Elon Musk mocks Washington Post op-ed calling to prevent the wealthy from controlling media platforms after the Tesla CEO bought 9% stake in Twitter
Elon Musk mocked the Washington Post Friday after an op-ed from the paper called for federal regulations to prevent the rich from 'controlling' social media, following the Tesla CEO's $3 billion Twitter share buy-in earlier this week.
The piece, titled 'Elon Musk's vision of 'free speech' will be bad for Twitter,' criticized the purchase as 'highly disconcerting — a slap in the face, even' - but conspicuously saw no mention of the outlet's own billionaire owner, Musk rival Jeff Bezos.
'Lmaooo,' Musk, 50, tweeted Friday, in a reaction to the op-ed excerpt.

Hartmann was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan,[3] one of four children of Jean and Carl Thomas Hartmann.[4] His paternal grandparents were from Norway, and his other ancestry includes Welsh and English.[5][6] He lived in Detroit at age two, and later grew up in Lansing, Michigan.[7][8] Interested in politics from a young age, he was raised in a conservative, Midwestern household with a right-wing point of view. He campaigned with his staunch-Republican father for Barry Goldwater during the 1964 presidential election when he was thirteen.[9] Although a "gifted" student, Hartmann was expelled from high school during tenth grade for starting a paper that protested the Vietnam War. He later earned a GED.[10]
Hartmann enrolled at Lansing Community College and transferred to Michigan State University, majoring in electrical engineering.[11] In 1968, Hartmann opened his first business, a repair shop named "The Electronics Joint" located next to Michigan State University and became a part-time disc jockey at local country music station WITL-FM.[12][13] With Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), Hartmann protested against the Vietnam War.[14] Hartmann had been interested in consciousness and spirituality since childhood, and by 1969 his interest evolved from hippie subculture to Christian mysticism. During that year, he met the head of the Coptic Center, Master Stanley.[15] In 1971 he was ordained as a Minister with Coptic Fellowship International. He has been a keynote speaker at many Coptic Conferences nationally. In 1973, Hartmann returned to Detroit to work as an engineer with RCA.[7]
Business careerEdit
Hartmann began his business career in the early 1970s while in his 20s, co-founding The Woodley Herber Company. Woodley Herber sold herbal products, potpourris and teas, and operated until 1978.[16] During this time, Hartmann obtained three degrees in herbology and homeopathic medicine. Hartmann moved to New Hampshire to start The New England Salem Children's Village,[17] which still operates in Rumney, New Hampshire. He was its Executive Director for five years, and on the board of directors for more than 25 years. NESCT's child-care model was based on the German Salem International organization, and through his affiliation with that group, he helped start international relief programs in Uganda, Colombia, Russia, Israel, India, Australia, and several other countries between 1979 and today.[citation needed]
Hartmann founded International Wholesale Travel and its retail subsidiary Sprayberry Travel in Atlanta in 1983, a business which in the intervening years generated over a quarter of a billion dollars in revenue.[18][19] According to their website, Sprayberry Travel was lauded by the Wall Street Journal in 1984 as one of the early adopters of frequent travel programs analogous to the recent frequent flyer programs of the airline industry.[20] He sold his share in the business in 1986, and retired with his family to Germany to work with the international relief organization Salem International.[21] In the late 1970s, he was a trainer in advertising and marketing for The American Marketing Centers (now defunct), and in 1987, after returning from Germany, founded the Atlanta advertising agency Chandler, MacDonald, Stout, Schneiderman & Poe, Inc., doing business as The Newsletter Factory.[22] He sold his interest in that company in 1996, and re-retired to Vermont.
I still don't think that the DOJ will file changes against Trump but tax evasion is not protected by the first amendment or executive privilege.

TV program
Hartmann on the set of his television program The Big Picture
Hartmann hosted a one-hour daily TV show at 7 pm. ET Monday to Friday, The Big Picture with Thom Hartmann, which was editorially directed by his wife and was broadcast from the Washington, D.C., studios of the RT news network. The show featured many conservative guests who routinely sparred with Hartmann. Hartmann co-produced the program with RT, who provided studio and carriage, while Hartmann retained full editorial control of his programming. The RT network aired the program via Dish Network, DirecTV, and on selected local-origination and public-access television cable TV channels globally.[31] After hosting the program for seven years, Hartmann announced his departure as host on September 29, 2017.[citation needed]

2022 is shaping up to be a legal nightmare for Trumpworld. Here's a timeline of upcoming court cases and legal obstacles.

Donald Trump and his allies are facing a flurry of legal challenges this year.
Investigations into his company's finances are ongoing, along with others related to January 6.
Here are the dates to watch out for this year.
Former President Donald Trump has had a number of surprising legal victories ever since he left the White House — though his greatest potential battles are still looming.
In November, Summer Zervos, who had accused Trump of sexual assault following her appearance on "The Apprentice," dropped her lawsuit against him before he was forced to sit for a deposition. At around the same time, a New York state judge dismissed a lawsuit from Michael Cohen seeking to have the Trump Organization reimburse his legal fees for work he did on Trump's behalf.
But greater dangers loom. The Trump Organization is the subject of a sprawling investigation from the Manhattan district attorney's office and the New York attorney general's office into alleged financial misconduct.
In Atlanta, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is weighing charges over his conduct in the 2020 election. Those investigations are proceeding as the Justice Department comes up on the five-year deadline to prosecute Trump over acts of possible obstruction that former Special Counsel Robert Mueller III scrutinized as part of his investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration is sending a steady stream of Trump's White House records to the House committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. And Trump — along with many of his allies — face federal investigations and lawsuits stemming from the January 6 insurrection. Expect the judges in those cases to set court dates later this year.
While Trump mulls whether to run for president again in 2024, 2022 is shaping up to be a year of legal headaches for the former president and his associates. Here's a timeline of the threats Trumpworld faces.
The same cannot be said of RT, ostensibly governed by a “supervisory board” whose members remain secret. As best we can tell, RT’s content is shaped in close consultation with the Kremlin. Russian President Vladimir Putin himself admitted in 2013 that RT “cannot help but reflect the Russian government’s official position on the events in our country and in the rest of the world one way or another.” RT’s utterly opaque governance structure, as well as testimony from former employees and the Russian leader himself, suggest that those who work for it do so at the “direction or control” of the Kremlin.
More important in considering the Justice Department’s actions than misplaced free speech concerns is whether and how Moscow will retaliate. One obvious response would be to identify VOA and Radio Liberty as “foreign agents” and impose restrictions on their reporters; the Russians might even go further and apply the label to correspondents employed by nongovernment funded outlets like the one you’re reading or the New York Times. Yet such worries overlook the myriad ways in which the Russian government already makes life difficult for Western journalists and news outlets. A customary experience for correspondents newly posted to Moscow is returning home at night to find cigarette butts strewn across the floor and one’s personal effects conspicuously displaced. As for the VOA and Radio Liberty, the Russian government denied AM broadcast licenses to the former in 2014 and the latter in 2012. Considering the Kremlin’s systemic effort to jam and block Western news broadcasts, registering RT and Sputnik as foreign agents may not go far enough.
The Clinton campaign warned you about Russia. But nobody listened to us.
In addition to better informing American citizens about the nature of RT, another salutary effect of labeling it a foreign agent may be dissuading Americans from seeking employment there. One way RT has gained credibility is by featuring Americans like Larry King and former MSNBC host Ed Schultz as presenters. Compelled to register as agents of a hostile foreign power, the network’s American employees might flee like rats from a sinking ship. There’s already a sign this may be happening: Two days after RT revealed it had been asked by the Justice Department to register under FARA, progressive radio host Thom Hartmann, who has helmed a show on the network since 2010, announced his departure.
But the most compelling reason to register RT as a foreign agent is also the simplest: The United States has a law on the books that clearly mandates it. And the United States, unlike Russia, is a country governed by the rule of law.

Hartmann’s show was the most conventional, and his deal with RT is the most independent. He’d previously appeared on the network as a guest, and they offered him space to film and distribute his series, “The Big Picture.”

Hunter Biden story is dying.
Repair shop owner knows of 'multiple attempts' to 'insert questionable material' into Hunter Biden's laptop
David Edwards
April 11, 2022
The computer repair shop owner who turned over Hunter Biden's alleged laptop to the FBI now says that many reports about photographs on the device are "misinformation."
During an interview with Real America's Voice, host Ed Henry asked John Paul Mac Isaac if he observed disturbing images of children on the laptop.
But Mac Isaac, a Trump supporter, explained that he contacted the FBI about the laptop because he was concerned about "national security" implications.
"That's what caused me to do a deep dive into the laptop once it became my property," Mac Isaac said. "During that time, I saw a lot of photos. I did not see a lot of photos that are being reported to be seen."
"I do know that there have been multiple attempts over the past year and a half to insert questionable material into the laptop as in not physically, but passing it off as misinformation or disinformation as coming from the laptop," he added. "And that is a major concern of mine because I have fought tooth and nail to protect the integrity of this drive."
