Not guilty is a blow to the FBI here folks...

Defendants in the FBI entrapment case are found not guilty and the judge declares mistrial for the other two...

Update: Just to understand how corrupt our process is,  these two people who were found not guilty were held in jail for two years before they saw a trial. Much like many of the Jan 6th defendants who are being held in prison for misdemeanor charges and basically forced into plea deals to even get a chance to get out.

This is one of the many times you have seen our criminal justice system attempt to entrap people they view to be "conservative activists" and then charge them excessively for something that they, themselves, came up with. You can find that almost everyone charged in the Mueller Probe (that dealt with the probe) were "set up" and then had the book thrown at them in a manner that were completely different than how they charged others.

To refresh your memories, this was the alleged kidnapping attempt of Governor Whitmore that was actually fully planned and coordinated..... by non other than undercover FBI agents. They recruited people, they told them to break the law, set up a meeting to buy guns, drove them part of the way there, and then basically were stopped and arrested. The majority of the people at the scene were FBI. It was clear entrapment and that is how the jury found.

Meanwhile, there was a "not guilty" verdict of one of the Jan 6th protesters where the Judge not only found that the Feds lacked evidence that the protester broke the law knowingly, but pointed out the grave differences of how this person was charged excessively in comparison to similar charges in other politically charged situation. He specifically brought up a person arrested after entering the Senate building during the Kavanaugh hearings, then violated a stay away order and violated other laws, basically committing three crimes and the prosecutors only asked for probation. In this case the Jan 6th protester entered the building but was clearly "allowed in". He committed no violence or vandalism and quietly left when asked to. They were asking for several months?  Why? Because of a fake "insurrection" or something?

The reality is that while the entire FBI has not necessarily become corrupt, there are those in the FBI who have basically just become arms of the Democrats and are apparently willing to do everything in their power to go after certain political people while leaving others alone. When your AG tells the country that the greatest threat we face is not the  thousands of murders, the criminal drug traffic, the problems at the border or anything else tangible... but instead says it is "White supremacists" you know you have a politician (not a legal person) in the position.

Proud Boys Leader Admits Plan to Storm Capitol

In a newly filed statement of offense, prosecutors said that Proud Boys leader Charles Donohoe — who took a plea deal earlier today — “understood that the purpose of the rally in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021, was to stop the certification of the Electoral College vote,”
the Washington Post reports.

Key passage:
“Donohoe was aware that members of MOSD leadership were discussing the possibility of storming the Capitol. Donohoe believed that storming the Capitol would achieve the group’s goal of stopping the government from carrying out the transfer of presidential power. Donohoe understood that storming the Capitol would be illegal.”

Donohoe has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors.

Don Jr. Texted Ideas to Overturn the Election

“Two days after the 2020 presidential election, as votes were still being tallied, Donald Trump’s eldest son texted then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows that ‘we have operational control’ to ensure his father would get a second term, with Republican majorities in the US Senate and swing state legislatures,”
CNN reports.

“In the text, which has not been previously reported, Donald Trump Jr. lays out ideas for keeping his father in power by subverting the Electoral College process.”

Said Trump Jr.:
“It’s very simple. We have multiple paths. We control them all.”

“The text from Trump Jr. is revealing on a number of levels. It shows how those closest to the former President were already exchanging ideas for how to overturn the election months before the January 6 insurrection — and before all the votes were even counted. It would be another two days before major news outlets declared Joe Biden the winner on November 7.”

It’s easy to forget how dire the job market was – and just about everything was – during the last year of the Trump presidency.

Americans were forced to consider theft and murder to make sure their families had enough toilet paper amid a once-a-century plague that will, by the time it’s over, have killed more than a million of us.

I guess we’re just supposed to pretend that never happened, like a fresh hell of a sermon interrupted by the sudden toot of a pastor’s fart – or Donald Trumps’ trademarks in China – or Michael Avenatti.

But letting the memory of the wreckage left behind by Republican presidents is why we get so many more Republican presidents.

So prepare for a haunting flashback.

Before 2020, America had never seen more than a million weekly unemployment claims, not even during the Great Recession.

Late in March 2020, nearly 3 million workers filed claims.

In a week.

That was followed by 5.9 million, then 6.1 million. Pretty much the populations of Los Angeles and Chicago combined were out of work.

In a week.

That weekly hemorrhaging didn’t drop below a million until last August. It didn’t hit pre-pandemic levels until last October.

The American Rescue Plan – along with various pandemic-related reprieves – built on previous and considerable efforts to soften the pain of the pandemic by putting money into workers’ pockets.

The result of this sort of bottom-up economics?

An explosion of job growth unlike any seen before.

We are now seeing the lowest unemployment claims in more than 50 years. 2021 was literally the best year of job growth ever recorded.

You’d think that’d be big news.

Sure, if the president were Republican.

Look, it’s easy to pretend this remarkable recovery, which has seen all jobs lost regained six years faster than it took the job market to recover from the Great Recession, was inevitable or predictable.

Federal prosecutors have obtained an indictment against Donald Hazard, the sergeant of arms for the Patriot Boys militia group of Texas, on conspiracy to obstruct Congress and assault on law enforcement for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021 assault on the US Capitol.

The 19-page indictment returned on April 1 largely replicates the language in a complaint filed against Hazard and Patriot Boys president Lucas Denney on Dec. 7, 2021. Denney and Hazard were both accused of conspiracy, but so far Denney has only been indicted on a single charge of assaulting law enforcement. The government hastily sought the limited indictment against Denney to meet a deadline under the Speedy Trial Act, but prosecutors have indicated they plan to seek additional charges against the militia leader.

On Tuesday, prosecutors filed notice that the two cases are related under a local court rule in the in the District of Columbia federal court district. Prosecutors noted that the cases arise from the same complaint.

“As detailed in the complaint, that investigation involves evidence — including messages and posts by two social media accounts, obtained by search warrant — showing the defendants’ planning and preparation for January 6, 2021, including the acquisition of weapons and protective gear, and their recruitment of others to join them in traveling to Washington, DC in the days leading up to January 6, 2021,” the notice reads. “Accordingly, the United States submits that these two matters arise from common activities which are part of the same alleged criminal event and arise from common search warrants.

So the Reverend's and Roger's response to this is simply to make a point of the other miscarriage of justice by our corrupt DC legal system, where pleas are being secured because people are held indefinitely in jail... sometimes longer than the full extent of the charges against them.

But... good to know you both love to see injustice!

As pointed out in the story...

The Jan 6th defendant found not guilty by a Judge is not unlike others who were rotting in jail for doing the same or similar things... not being given a speedy trial and being pushed to make plea deals just to get out of jail.

Finally an honest Judge steps up and compares the behavior of the Justice department against Jan 6th defendants with other defendants that committed the EXACT SAME CRIMES under different circumstances and were allowed to plea down to probation, while Jan 6th people sit in jail

The historic Gretchen Whitmer kidnap plot case ended with no convictions Friday, delivering a blow to the government as it failed to convince a jury that four militia members were domestic terrorists determined to harm the governor because of  her COVID-19 restrictions.

Are you a creationists.? Because you don't believe science.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

You really are happy that domestic terrorists are free.

Members of the group allegedly conducted surveillance on Whitmer’s vacation home, discussed using explosive devices to divert police from the area of the home, and inspected a potential location to place the explosive. At trial, defense lawyers mounted an entrapment defense by arguing that federal law enforcement had cajoled or tricked their clients into planning the would-be kidnapping.

Attorneys for the defendants accused prosecutors of “egregious overreaching,” arguing in a motion to dismiss that the FBI’s goal was to turn “general discontent with Governor Whitmer’s COVID-19 restrictions into a crime that could be prosecuted.”

Two additional defendants, Ty Garbin and Kaleb Franks, previously pleaded guilty.

Whitmer’s office issued a statement Friday expressing disappointment in the result.

“Today, Michiganders and Americans—especially our children—are living through the normalization of political violence,” the statement said. “The plot to kidnap and kill a governor may seem like an anomaly. But we must be honest about what it really is: the result of violent, divisive rhetoric that is all too common across our country. There must be accountability and consequences for those who commit heinous crimes. Without accountability, extremists will be emboldened.”

U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge, of the Western District of Michigan, said that Fox and Croft will face trial again.

“Although we are disappointed the jury did not reach decisions in our favor, we continue to respect the jury trial system whatever the outcome,” a statement from Birge’s office said. “And we thank the jury for their service. Two defendants now await re-trial and, for that reason, we have no further statement at this time.”

But the more plausible gleam of hope for Democrats rests not with those factors, nor with shaper “messaging,” but with the opposition. In past midterms, Republicans have done serious damage to themselves by nominating candidates who lost eminently winnable elections.

Most notable was the 2010 Delaware Senate race, where Republican Mike Castle seemed headed for a coronation after having won 10 statewide races for governor and the at-large House seat. But with the backing of Tea Party forces, perennial candidate Christine O’Donnell beat Castle in the GOP primary. Her fall campaign, filled with charges that she had misrepresented her education and her finances, and highlighted by a comment that she had “dabbled in witchcraft,” sent her to a landslide defeat by Chris Coons. (Had Castle won that primary and that Senate seat, the Republicans would likely now control the U.S. Senate.)

It’s not the only state where zealous party members helped outliers upset more established candidates, only to lose in November. Think of Judge Roy Moore in Alabama, and reports of his former fondness for teenage girls; or Richard Mourdock in Indiana and Todd Akin in Missouri with their head-scratching notions about abortion. This year, the possibility of Republicans nominating credibly accused abusers in Georgia and Missouri, and a TV doctor with quackish tendencies in Pennsylvania offer Democrats tempting targets in those key states. Other Democrats hope bad memories of former President Donald Trump will give them a boost.

All this is thin gruel for a party facing headwinds as daunting as any in recent campaign seasons. And sometimes the terrain is simply too treacherous to navigate. Before Obama’s inaugural in early 2009, the transition team heard a briefing from their economic gurus explaining how slow and weak the recovery from the Great Recession would likely be. Said Obama adviser David Axelrod: “We’re gonna get our asses kicked in the midterms.” It would be wholly unsurprising if similar posterior concerns were overheard in the West Wing on a daily basis.

Sleepy time ⏲️

On Tuesday, April 5, former President Barack Obama visited the White House to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act of 2010, a.k.a. Obamacare — marking his first time in the White House since leaving office in January 2017. Progressive and liberal media outlets responded to the event by discussing the achievements of Obamacare (millions of previously uninsured Americans obtained coverage) as well as its shortcomings (the U.S. still doesn’t have universal healthcare, unlike other developed nations).

But Fox News used the event to take a cheap and ageist shot at President Joe Biden. Fox News, according to Rolling Stone’s Ryan Bort, aired clips of Biden and took them “out of context” to promote the conspiracy theory that the president is mentally impaired.

Bort explains, “Biden does look a little confused in the first clip, but it’s only because he’s looking for someone — perhaps Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, whom he brings up onstage to applause shortly after the conservative media cut ends. The second clip ends right before Biden gets Obama’s attention and introduces him to someone. Twitter user @acyn helpfully attached the full clips to the end of the Fox News segments lambasting the edited versions.”

Fox News host Laura Ingraham commented, “Biden doesn’t know what on Earth he’s doing or, at times, where he even is.” Meanwhile, on Fox News competitor Newsmax TV, one of the far-right pundits remarked, “This is a lost old man” and argued that Biden should be removed from office via the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution “if the evidence continues to mount that” he “is actually incapable of performing his job.”

Join Alternet All-Access. Go AD-Free.

The ageist Biden-is-senile canard is incredibly stupid messaging on the part of right-wing media outlets, as conservative voters tend to be older — and by resorting to ageism, outlets like Fox News and Newsmax TV are, in effect, insulting their own audiences. But in right-wing media, one of the cardinal rules is to repeat talking points over and over — no matter how clumsy or awkward they are.

Bort observes, “Barack Obama visited the White House for the first time since he left office on Tuesday. He was there to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, as well as to watch President Biden sign an executive order aimed at improving the law. Obama’s return created plenty of commotion — and for Fox News and the rest of the right-wing ecosphere, a fresh opportunity to cast Biden as a weaker, watered-down version of the former president.”

No... but it does mean that they attempted to entrap people into committing a crime... while completely ignoring the actual crimes committed over and over by groups like Antifa. Hell they attacked Federal agents, got arrested, and were bailed out by a group started and partially funded by Democrats such as Kamala Harris.

So... you don't have to attempt to "correlate" public bullshit statements about "White Supremacy" Groups being the biggest national security threat with overtly and stupid attempts to entrap some of these groups into committing crimes. But it is obvious to anyone who is really paying attention.

Look Roger... nobody "likes" White Supremacists. I don't defend their views, but you simply cannot entrap people into committing crimes by the FBI committing them with undercover agents and paid informants and bringing others along for the ride. That is not how the law works.

Moreover, this ties "into" the idea that Jan 6th protesters are being punished in a manner that is completely inconsistent with how other protesters have been punished... all over the concept that it was a "plot to overthrow the Government". Some guy is waved into the capital building, doesn't commit any violence or any vandalism. Leaves when he is asked and is arrested and held without bail.. only to be found not-guilty by a judge in a bench trial. That is a ridiculous undeniable appalling gross abuse of police power...

Moreover they are still holding people without bail for crimes that even if convicted wouldn't have provided them with the jail time they have currently served... and they cannot get a trial. You wonder why some of them "plea out" - it's fucking dirty Gestapo crap. Anyone and everyone involved should be fired and sued for abuse of power.

How about the peaceful protester who committed suicide after being sentenced to 51 months for just "being there" because the Judge declared the his American Flag was a "weapon". This crap has ZERO place in America... which quite frankly is no longer the America that people used to respect.

The Republican Party is assaulting the first amendment.

Jonathan Friedman, director of PEN America's Free Expression and Education program and lead author of the report, said in a statement Thursday that "book challenges in American schools are nothing new, but this type of data has never been tallied and quite frankly the results are shocking."

"Challenges to books, specifically books by non-white male authors, are happening at the highest rates we've ever seen," said Friedman. "What is happening in this country in terms of banning books in schools is unparalleled in its frequency, intensity, and success."

"Because of the tactics of censors and the politicization of books we are seeing the same books removed across state lines: books about race, gender, LGBTQ+ identities, and sex most often," Friedman continued. "This is an orchestrated attack on books whose subjects only recently gained a foothold on school library shelves and in classrooms. We are witnessing the erasure of topics that only recently represented progress toward inclusion."

Library Group Launches Anti-Censorship Campaign to Combat GOP Book-Banning Wave

Andrea Germanos

According to PEN America, Texas—where the state legislature is dominated by Republicans—leads the country with the most documented book bans at 713. Pennsylvania ranks second with 456 bans, followed by Florida with 204.

"A probing look at the surge in book bans across the country exposes an alarming pattern of mounting restrictions targeting specific stories and ideas and the widespread abandonment of established procedures aimed to safeguard the First Amendment in public education," said Suzanne Nossel, PEN America's CEO.

"By short-circuiting rights-protective review processes," Nossel added, "these bans raise serious concerns in terms of constitutionality, and represent an affront to the role of our public schools as vital training grounds for democratic citizenship that instill a commitment to freedom of speech and thought."

PEN's report also raises concern over state legislators' increasing introduction and approval of "educational gag orders to censor teachers, proposals to track and monitor teachers, and mechanisms to facilitate book banning in school districts."

The group notes that 175 educational gag order bills have been introduced in 40 U.S. states and 15 such measures have become law in 13 states.

"Parents and community members deserve a voice in shaping what is taught in our schools," Nossel said Thursday. "But the embrace of book bans as a weapon to ward off narratives that are seen as threatening represents a troubling retreat from America's historic commitment to the First Amendment rights of students."

NEWSDeSantis says ‘Cold War’ coming between Florida, Georgia, if Stacey Abrams is elected governor

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Friday warned of a coming “Cold War” between Florida and Georgia if Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams wins the gubernatorial election in the latter state.

During a press conference in Gulf County, located in northwest Florida, DeSantis referenced the ongoing Masters golf tournament in Georgia, using it as an apparent segue into discussing the state’s elections.

DeSantis said he “really appreciates our Georgians” but that voters would have to “take care” of the 2022 election to prevent Abrams from winning.

“If Stacey Abrams is elected governor of Georgia, I just want to be honest, that will be a cold war between Florida and Georgia,” he said. “I can’t have [former Cuban communist leader Raul] Castro to my south and Abrams to my north, that would be a disaster. So I hope you guys take care of that and we’ll end up in good shape.”

The Hill has reached out to DeSantis’s office for comment.

Abrams, a former state House minority leader who previously ran for governor, is running uncontested in the Democratic primary field, but faces a competitive general election against incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp (R) and former Sen. David Perdue (R).

According to the latest polling, Abrams trails Kemp by a 51 percent to 44 percent margin and Perdue by 49 percent to 44 percent margin. Kemp narrowly beat out Abrams for the governorship in 2018.

DeSantis has become a major force in the Republican party and is flirting with a 2024 presidential run.

The Democratic candidate and Republican governor couldn’t be further apart on many issues, including gun control, immigration and the LGBTQ community.

DeSantis just signed the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill into law, which prohibits the discussion of gender identity and sexual orientation from kindergarten through third grade, which critics say marginalizes trans and LGBTQ youth, while Abrams’s campaign site says she wants to “nurture and protect” LGBTQ children.

Who has locked up J6 accused IN-FUCKING-DEFINITELY?

Who has weaponized the FBI for their own political purposes?

And the list goes on and on and on and...

______

He said that JFK was "openly supporting Hitler before WW2."
_________

My unanswered challenge:

Give us some of the quotes where he was openly doing that.

If they existed, we would have seen them long ago.

Hey "pastor", as I answered you yesterday (and I see you slunk back much later to repeat your answered "question"

* I guess vacationing with the third Reich and being fascinated by Hitler is something I would categorize as support.

It certainly wouldn't be considered as opposing

Why do you insist on exact words from someone who indisputably was vacationing in Germany right before the start of WW2 (which you lied about) and was fascinated by Hitler, as was provided. ?

Why do you keep lying "pastor" ?

and weaseling?

The charlatan makes unrealistic demands when he is proven wrong.

And ignores the documented factual response

Like was said yesterday after your continuous dodging

Fuck off

and stay away from children

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Where are those actual "open" (public) quotes, F daddy?

Don't weasel. Just give them to us.

Upfront.

And while you are at it, provide all the evidence you have that I have ever abused a child.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said..

THAT is a TOTAL lie.
It was only AFTER the war and AFTER Hitler's death that Kennedy vacationed in Germany

A reminder of the lying POS "pastor's lies from yesterday.

4 lies in one post

and yet he continues

as I said yesterday he is incapable of learning and his lies are ingrained in his head

and no "pastor" I didn't say I had "quotes". I just provided evidence from a book. Do you have quotes proving your innocence of child abuse ?

Guess we know what that means by your standard

and I repeat Fuck off

If you’re calling for FBI resignations or firings you still don’t get it. Same with the CDC, IRS, CIA, and all the others.

They “resign” and go work for MSNBC for $500k a year. That’s not punishment. Until there are trials and prison time for government people, nothing changes.

And then they will be quoted in the Gospel according to Goddard

and brought here by the charlatan "pastor"

without an actual link

GOP Took Money from Ex-Lawmaker Who Wooed Boys

“Prominent Republicans have slammed critics of Florida’s new sex education bill that critics call ‘Don’t Say Gay’ as ‘groomers’ and ‘pedophiles,’”
Insider reports.

“But some Florida Republicans are meanwhile accepting financial contributions from the old campaign committee of an ex-congressman who sent sexually explicit messages to underage boys working as congressional pages.

“Former Republican Rep. Mark Foley, who resigned his West Palm Beach district seat over the 2006 messaging scandal, has made $118,250 in donations and sponsorship to the Republican Party of Palm Beach County since 2010 through his ex-campaign committee.”

Russia Deploys Land Mines on a Timer
9:16 am
New York Times:
“The weapons roar in like any rocket, but instead of exploding instantly, they eject up to two dozen mines that explode at intervals, parceling out death in the hours afterward.

“Since the start of the invasion, Russia has made clear that it is willing to mete out violence and destruction to achieve its aims, often indiscriminately. It has launched cruise missiles, sent in tanks and fired mortars, artillery and rockets. Now it has also turned to something less ominous in appearance, but just as brutal.”

Russian Default Looks All But Inevitable Now
8:59 am
“Russia’s first external default in a century now looks all but inevitable after another brutal week for the country’s finances,” Bloomberg reports.

“First, the Treasury halted dollar debt payments from Russia’s accounts in U.S. banks, ramping up its restrictions on the country. Then, when an attempted hard-currency payment was blocked, Russia breached the terms on two bonds by paying investors rubles instead of dollars. That pushed the countdown clock a step closer to default.”

Putin May Cite War to Interfere in U.S. Politics Again
8:55 am
“Russian President Vladimir Putin may use the Biden administration’s support for Ukraine as a pretext to order a new campaign to interfere in American politics,”
the AP reports.

“Intelligence agencies have so far not found any evidence that Putin has authorized measures like the ones Russia is believed to have undertaken in the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections in support of former President Donald Trump.

“But given Putin’s antipathy toward the West and his repeated denunciations of Ukraine, officials believe he may see the U.S. backing of Ukraine’s resistance as a direct affront to him, giving him further incentive to target another U.S. election… It is not yet clear which candidates Russia might try to promote or what methods it might use.”

The FBI and DOJ need a complete and total cleansing.

It must be one of our top priorities.

All the rot must be removed and these agencies must be restored.

Setting up people, like in the Whitmer alleged kidnapping plot, doesn’t appear to be a solo event.

“In a huge defeat for the U.S. Department of Justice, a jury today acquitted two men accused of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in the fall of 2020.”

Harris and Caserta have been in jail since Oct 2020 were finally released.

“observers from across the political spectrum, have argued the FBI’s efforts to make the case, which involved at least a dozen confidential informants, went beyond legitimate law enforcement and into outright entrapment.”

It appears the FBI is a mastermind at manufacturing it’s own plots and has done this many times before.

We must investigate how much involvement the FBI had in any part of J6.

From planning to incitement to those responsible for not securing the Capitol with the National Guard to actual involvement, all must be held accountable.

Not just the J6 defendants rotting in jail.
