Do Democrats actually have a message for what they actually want to do?

If so, what exactly is it and why are they not talking about anything other than abortion?

This week they unleashed a four-part message war against pro-life conservatives and the Republican Party with the precision of a Swiss clock. President Biden, senators, members of Congress, mayors and governors all mindlessly jumped on board with the strategy.
  • First, the Supreme Court’s potential overturning of Roe v. Wade will threaten interracial marriage.
  • Second, the end of Roe will mean conservatives will, as embattled Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said, target LGBTQ Americans next.
  • Third, the Supreme Court is somehow illegitimate because it’s not elected.
  • Fourth, America’s ills are all due to the fact that the “ultra MAGA” crowd has taken over the Republican Party.
So in spite of Justice Thomas being in an interracial marriage and that the arguments about the sanctity of life have nothing to do with the LGBTQ, the left is simply trying to scare people. You know, like Hitler scared the Germans, or like Stalin scared the Soviets, or like any good fascist state uses hate and fear to push an ideology.

To the degree that Liberals judge all of this through their own assumptions about how the court should work is a question, but the reality is that the court is making a fundamental "legal" and "constitutional" ruling, not a social one. While I am sure that the social aspects have a place here, none of the three Justices who are opposed to this ruling could really probably make a legitimate constitutional defense for the original Roe ruling.

The original Roe ruling was a social ruling that went in search for constitutional cover to make it appear somewhat legal. The old "privacy" argument has been rejected for similar issues ad nauseum and Roe is pretty much never used as a "precedent" other than for stares decisis for other specific abortion rulings. Whether or not one agrees or disagrees with abortion is really irrelevant to whether or not there is a constitutional right to have one.

The irony is that it was the "courts" that made abortion legal, not legislation. The idea that the court overturning another court decision is somehow "undemocratic" is unhinged and grossly illogical thinking. No, we don't "elect" the Judicial members. That is by design. More to the point, the court members that made a "constitutional ruling" and made abortion legal were no more elected than those who are going to overturn the ruling.

This ultimately might do more harm than good for the Democrats. Without a message, they now believe that abortion can become their message. But it's really "not" a message unless you really want to campaign on what you plan to do. Obviously the fake attempt to pass an unpassible Abortion for all, anytime, anyplace, by the doctor of your choice, paid for by taxpayers is never going to pass and the lion's share of Americans would oppose it. In other words, their actual position here is very unpopular.

Which is why they will just continue to lie to create more fear. They are already saying that the ridiculous bill was just "codifying Roe" when in fact it went way beyond not only Roe, but what most sensible Americans want. It won't take long for that lie to be exposed and then where do they go? If between now and November they could actually hash out a law that was representative of the majority of Americans, they would lose the only issue they believe they have?

Hard to say you are an effective leader when you refuse to get the one thing done you say you are campaigning on, because what the American public wants does not go far enough. But that is the underlying argument (whether they admit it or not).

Otherwise... without lying about abortion? What else do the Democrats have?

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is offering formula manufacturers and retailers transportation and logistics support to ease the nationwide shortage of baby formula, as the administration works to bring the largest domestic plant back on line after it was shut down early this year due to safety issues.

WATCH: Parents nationwide struggle with a critical baby formula shortage

The White House said it is working with all major formula producers to boost production, including reaching out to their suppliers to encourage them to prioritize production and delivery of formula ingredients. It comes as the Biden administration has come under intense pressure over the last week to do more to ease the shortage of formula that has forced parents of infants to go to significant lengths to feed their children.

The shortage stems from a February recall by Abbott, the nation's largest formula maker, that shuttered the company's Michigan plant and exacerbated ongoing supply chain disruptions among formula makers, leaving fewer options on stores shelves across much of the country. The shortage has led retailers like CVS and Target to limit how many containers customers can purchase per visit and forced some parents to swap and sell formula online.

On Monday, FDA Commissioner Robert Califf told ABC News' "Good Morning America" that the federal agency is "working really closely with Abbott" to reopen the closed Michigan factory and he expects that "in a very short period of time we're going to have an announcement about the path forward."

Califf said an announcement is forthcoming about importing baby formula from abroad, noting that the key is making sure the instructions for the formula are in languages that mothers and caregivers can understand.

The FDA warned families against making their own baby formula because it has 30 distinct constituents that have to be in the right amount, otherwise the formula can possibly be dangerous to consume.

Abbott's voluntary recall was triggered by four illnesses reported in babies who had consumed powdered formula from the Michigan plant. All four infants were hospitalized with a rare type of bacterial infection and two died.

After a six-week inspection, FDA investigators published a list of problems in March, including lax safety and sanitary standards and a history of bacterial contamination in several parts of the plant.

Statement by President Joe Biden

MAY 03, 2022STATEMENTS AND RELEASES

We do not know whether this draft is genuine, or whether it reflects the final decision of the Court.

With that critical caveat, I want to be clear on three points about the cases before the Supreme Court.

First, my administration argued strongly before the Court in defense of Roe v. Wade. We said that Roe is based on “a long line of precedent recognizing ‘the Fourteenth Amendment’s concept of personal liberty’… against government interference with intensely personal decisions.” I believe that a woman’s right to choose is fundamental, Roe has been the law of the land for almost fifty years, and basic fairness and the stability of our law demand that it not be overturned.

Second, shortly after the enactment of Texas law SB 8 and other laws restricting women’s reproductive rights, I directed my Gender Policy Council and White House Counsel’s Office to prepare options for an Administration response to the continued attack on abortion and reproductive rights, under a variety of possible outcomes in the cases pending before the Supreme Court. We will be ready when any ruling is issued.

Third, if the Court does overturn Roe, it will fall on our nation’s elected officials at all levels of government to protect a woman’s right to choose. And it will fall on voters to elect pro-choice officials this November.  At the federal level, we will need more pro-choice Senators and a pro-choice majority in the House to adopt legislation that codifies Roe, which I will work to pass and sign into law.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The bottom line is exactly what they can do.

Quit the Stalin bullshit

And you actually believe this about your hero Trump.

Branding former President Donald Trump the “MAGA king” and those who support the Republican platform “the most extreme political organization that has existed in recent American history,” an angry Biden is pouring on the venom in an attempt to save the far-left agenda.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Bottom line.

Pointing out that when the governor signs a bill banning abortion and taking away a woman’s right to choose, and failing to protect these rights, even in case of rape or incest, the Democrats can get women out in record numbers!

And eventually write a federal law that allows first trimester. From that point, it gets difficult.

Tucker Carlson on his Fox News show in 2018:

How, precisely, is diversity our strength? Since you’ve made this our new national motto, please be specific as you explain it. Can you think, for example, of other institutions such as, I don’t know, marriage or military units in which the less people have in common, the more cohesive they are?

Do you get along better with your neighbors, your co-workers if you can’t understand each other or share no common values? Please be honest as you answer this question.

COMPARE THAT WITH THIS:

The Buffalo gunman in a 180-page manifesto explaining his motivations behind last weekend’s mass shooting:

Why is diversity said to be our greatest strength? Does anyone even ask why? It is spoken like a mantra and repeated ad infinitum “diversity is our greatest strength, diversity is our greatest strength, diversity is our greatest strength…” Said throughout the media, spoken by politicians, educators and celebrities. But no one ever seems to give a reason why.

THEN GO TO politicalwire.com and click on the blue print where it says The Buffalo gunman in a 180-page manifesto

and look at the
disgusting White Nationalist, Nazi Defending, anti Jewish propaganda
the gunman's sick mind FED ON.

It looks like something some of you would relish.

Another thing is he is not going to fight Trump or the other Republicans he going to try and get the middle class back 🙄.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Six months after the signing of President Joe Biden’s $1 trillion infrastructure package, the government said Monday there are 4,300 projects underway with more than $110 billion in funding announced — milestones the administration is publicly heralding as midterm politics intensify.

White House senior adviser Mitch Landrieu, the former mayor of New Orleans, said the roads, bridges and other projects are laying “a foundation for tremendous growth into the future.” Landrieu said Biden and members of his administration have made more than 125 trips to highlight the bipartisan investments in infrastructure. He declined to predict how much the storytelling will resonate with voters as construction starts.

“I think that if Americans step back, we will all have to admit that for the last 50 years we’ve had the need to do this and we haven’t found the will or the way to get it done,” Landrieu told reporters. He added that this is a “wonderful down payment” on infrastructure needs in the country that total roughly $7 trillion.

The administration made a strategic calculation that delivering results would help Democrats retain control of the House and the Senate in this year’s elections. Infrastructure was a rare source of bipartisan unity as Biden struck a deal that attracted several Republican senators. The law contains money to expand internet access and replace lead water pipes and for rail and public transit projects and investments to address climate change.

Why do you believe a President who claimed during his campaign that he would be the guy to bring everyone together and get things to happen...

has resorted to name calling and little else...

What possible reasoning (other than Democrats cannot run on accomplishments, the state of the Country, or even what they plan to do)... would there be to simply start attacking a former President?

Sri Lanka's Ruling Family Is in Hiding Due to... Hikes in Fuel Prices and Food Costs

Oh really.

Nearly a year later, Sri Lanka lies in economic ruin, with basic food items scarce, hospitals out of medicine and lines for fuel stretching for blocks as the country's foreign reserves all but run out. The wave of anger now gripping the country is as much about the family dynasty ruling Sri Lanka as it is about the economic disaster. Once empowered by a triumphant Buddhist Sinhalese nationalism after a brutal civil war, the Rajapaksas have been undone by what their own allies call incompetence and denial.

Now, that dynasty, which has dominated the country for the greater part of two decades, is on the verge of an end, with most of the family in hiding at a military base and only the president clinging to power. The latest to go: Mahinda Rajapaksa, the patriarch and prime minister, who was evacuated from his home this week after setting off clashes that left eight people dead across the country.

...

Over a period of decades, the small island nation of 22 million people had built a ,bloated state sector, robust social welfare programs that exceeded the country's means, a large military and an elaborate series of postwar construction projects. As economic growth slowed, it kept borrowing to pay.

Whew! At least America has done nothing like that.

The economic stress increased as pandemic travel restrictions dried up tourism dollars. Then came a disastrous ban on chemical fertilizers, as the Rajapaksa government pushed organic farming at a time when climate change was already threatening harvests and food security.
