“Republicans are going to be in a very tough place right now. They have to defend something that Republicans said would never happen. I think this is a very bad issue for them.” — Sen. Democrats Hope Abortion Rights Will Jolt State Races May 5, 2022 at 10:56 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 20 Comments
“A draft Supreme Court opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade has jolted the battle for control of state legislatures, where the next stage of the struggle over abortion rights is likely to play out,” the New York Times reports.
“Republicans are going to be in a very tough place right now. They have to defend something that Republicans said would never happen. I think this is a very bad issue for them.” — Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM), quoted by Politico, on the likely forthcoming Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
At practically any point in the past 15 years, I would have told you that SCOTUS overturning Roe v. Wade would be a major factor in the next election, whenever that election happened to be.
But inflation was a remote prospect in America during those 15 years. Almost a myth.
As it is, I’ve begun to wonder if rising prices might end up achieving something I would have otherwise thought impossible.
They may “Roe-proof” the midterms for Republicans.
This CNN poll is so gory for Biden and his party that it should be rated NC-17:
Only 23% rate economic conditions as even somewhat good, down from 37% in December and 54% last April. The last time public perception of the economy was this poor in CNN’s polling was November 2011, when 18% called economic conditions good…
Although economic pessimism is most pronounced within the GOP, it spans party lines. A near universal 94% of Republicans rate current economic conditions in the US as poor, as do 81% of independents and 54% of Democrats…
The economy remains a notably weak spot for the President. Biden’s overall approval rating holds steady: 41% of Americans approve and 59% disapprove, effectively unchanged from CNN’s last poll, conducted in January and February. But his economic approval numbers continue to tick downward, with 34% now approving and 66% disapproving, compared with 37% approval and 62% disapproval earlier this year. Biden’s ratings have also continued to sink on the issue of helping the middle class (36% approve, down from 41% in February) and on immigration (34% approve, down from 40% last December).
Democrats think Americans won't care about their own economic conditions, their own safety from crime, a fucked up war in Afghanistan and Ukraine, and a President who cannot remember his own name...
Instead they believe people will care about a Jan 6th commission and a USSC ruling that isn't a ruling that would fundamentally not change anything for 95% of Americans and would likely only change that 5% in a matter that the vast majority of them support.
The left requires a permanent underclass to stay in power. Government dependency is a feature, not a bug for them. And their death grip on education in America let's them crank out imbecile after imbecile to pull the lever for the 'D'.
American women are not going to let our nation forget that Republican Supreme Court nominees out and out LIED about Roe being settled law with precedent upon precedent supporting it.
Democrats will be able to stay in power as long as the right treats women like second class citizens whose rights do not need to be respected. and supports an unfair tax system that grossly favors the upperclasses and harms the underclasses, especially blacks.
Ultimately this is a bad court decision being overturned...
Somehow you see this as a whole bunch of big words that you obviously have no understanding of. But you are a liberal... so you bark at the moon.
Probably because you know Democrats don't have the votes to pass real legislation for this sort of thing, and will almost certainly not have them after November...
American women are not going to let our nation forget that Republican Supreme Court nominees out and out LIED about Roe being settled law with precedent upon precedent supporting it.

Murkowski Says Confidence In Court Is Rocked
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) said a draft Supreme Court opinion aimed at possibly overturning Roe V. Wade “rocks my confidence in the court right now,” Politico reports.
Said Murkowski: “Roe is still the law of the land. We don’t know the direction that this decision may ultimately take. Sen. Collins and I in February introduced a bill that would codify Roe v. Wade. I thought it made sense then and I think it makes perhaps more sense now.”
Democrats will be able to stay in power as long as the right treats women like second class citizens whose rights do not need to be respected.

Republicans don't care about education. They only want to privatize education to enable their cronies and campaign donors to reap billions in profits.
Republicans are all about rewarding and protecting the rich at the expense of the working class.
