Got a question into the support forum in terms of how to turn off or mitigate the spam filter
Unfortunately I have still not gotten a response. I try to keeps tabs periodically and publish comments sent to spam. That being said, I have a life and there are times when things will just get stuck out there for a while. If I had more access to the root code, there might be a way to turn it off or to disable the code. Or perhaps a script that auto publishes the comments sent to spam.
But here is what seem to be the most troubling aspect of this situation. There are about a 100 different questions and answers in regards to how the spam filter is not working to pick up spam. The community concern seems to all be in the same direction. The filter is missing spam and not filtering it out.
The other issue is that our situation here is somewhat unique in that we have a legitimate back and forth on the comment threads where most bloggers are getting a handful of comments (that are literally just comments about a subject). Many actually use the moderation tool and choose whether to publish each and every comment. Nothing in those situations are in real time.
Either way... it seems to be getting a little better as time goes on. There will be hours where nothing is flagged. I have also noticed that it seems to be taking longer to flag something as spam. So a comment posted 10 hours ago being sent to spam is not as much of a problem as one that is sent to spam almost instantaneously. The 10 hours ago portion of the thread has already gone past. I still republish them, but it is not the same thing as a new comment "disappearing".

On Thursday, the Portland Press Herald reported that a Republican candidate for Maine House of Representatives is blaming the Uvalde, Texas school shooting on "liberal teachers" who "brainwashed" him.
CRT brainwashed him according to some people but fortunately you are not that crazy

40% Say Abortion Is a Top Issue for Them

A new Marquette Law School poll finds 40% of Americans rate abortion as one of the most important issues in the country — including 48% of Democrats and 31% of Republicans.
Asked what public policy on abortion should be,
29% say abortion should be legal in all cases,
38% say legal in most cases,
24% say it should be illegal in most cases, and
8% say illegal in all cases.
_________
SO,
29%
+38%
=67% say abortion should be legal in all or most cases

The governor of North Dakota is not a Trumpism victim.
North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R) is digging into his own pockets to fund a handful of Republican candidates running for state legislative seats this year in an effort to reshape the politics of one of the most conservative states in the country.
Burgum, serving his second term, has contributed nearly $1 million to a political action committee run by a former top staffer that is said to be spending big on key legislative races across the state ahead of next month’s primary elections. In a state where Democrats are an afterthought, Burgum allies say putting a thumb on the scale in legislative races is the most effective way he can spend.
“The mission of the PAC is to elect conservative Republicans who share the governor’s vision to move North Dakota forward,”
They are conspiracy theories about everything.

If the Republicans find a candidate not for Texas or Florida then they will slowly get their shit too. This is why Texas should not be on the road to new Confederacy
This year so far, at least 120,742 more Texans tried to buy guns than California residents, according to the FBI. One of those buyers was Salvador Ramos. The high school senior bought two AR -15-style assault rifles just days after turning 18. On Tuesday, Ramos killed 19 children and two adults at an elementary school in Uvalde.
The murdered children at Robb Elementary School include Amerie Jo Garza, 10; Makenna Lee Elrod, 10; Uziyah Garcia, 8; Xavier Javier Lopez, 10; and Jose Flores, 10. Fourth-grade teacher Eva Mireles, 44, was also killed.

NEW YORK (AP) — Former President Donald Trump must answer questions under oath in New York state’s civil investigation into his business practices, a state appeals court ruled Thursday.
A four-judge panel in the appellate division of the state’s trial court upheld Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron’s Feb. 17 ruling enforcing subpoenas for Trump and his two eldest children to give deposition testimony in Attorney General Letitia James' probe.
Trump had appealed, seeking to overturn the ruling. His lawyers argued that ordering the Trumps to testify violated their constitutional rights because their answers could be used in a parallel criminal investigation.
“The existence of a criminal investigation does not preclude civil discovery of related facts, at which a party may exercise the privilege against self-incrimination,” the four-judge panel wrote, citing the Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.
Message seeking comment were left with lawyers for the Trumps and with James' office. The Trumps could still appeal the ruling to the state’s highest court, the Court of Appeals

While any Republican would certainly love to have Trump’s endorsement, he’s far from a kingmaker in the party. Fundamentally, most Republican voters vote Republican for the same reasons they always did: lower taxes and imposing conservative culture war policies on others. Elected officials whom Republican voters perceive as governing well and delivering results will be rewarded regardless of whether they tried to “stop the steal”. In the end, Trump’s single-minded fixation on the election, which most voters even in his own party consider a distraction, could do real damage to his prospects in 2024.

The former “House of Cards” actor is being charged with four counts of sexual assault against three men, the U.K.’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced Thursday.
The 62-year-old performer has also been charged with “causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent,” Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS’s special crime division, said in a statement to ITK.
“The charges follow a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation,” Ainslie said.

I had a post got to the spam folder yesterday, then saw it posted 3 times. First time that has happened to me (I think). Haven't had any issues since maybe a month ago and those wouldn't post but never showed up again that I realized anyway.
Of course I do understand what spam is

I’ve posted bad takes I know what a bad take looks like. This is truly the worst I’ve seen from a prominent “world leader.” He shoves aside dead children to celebrate an armed robber who put a gun on a pregnant woman’s body, and then does anti-police agitprop. There’s no bottom.

As we grieve the children of Uvalde today, we should take time to recognize that two years have passed since the murder of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer. His killing stays with us all to this day, especially those who loved him.

Let's cut through the horseshit media and Dems are spewing.
The "root cause" of school shootings isn't easy availability of guns. It's not mental health. It's not lax gun laws. It's not law enforcement failures.
Those are contributory causes. None is the root cause.
GP The root cause is the Left's destruction of social, cultural, and religious norms and institutions in the name of progress.
GP Without these norms and institutions, most Americans have become untethered.
Untethered from God. Untethered from their communities. Untethered from their neighbors. Untethered from marriage and family.
Common societal and cultural norms are the glue that held Americans of different races, cultures, and creeds together through around 1965 or so.
And then Marxists overtook the academy + began pushing deconstructive theories, most intended specifically to tear the country down.
GP I am not claiming all these norms were good. Many were not (e.g., overt legally sanctioned racism, deeply ingrained sexism).
But the vast majority of these norms *were* good. Love your neighbor. Go along to get along. Assimilate. "God, family, country, school/job."

Fantastic analysis
Slow-motion insurrection.
Put this way, we can see them less as acts of senseless violence and more as acts of political violence. In this context, it doesn’t matter whether the shooter is conscious of the forces working on him. What matters is that violence is the logical end of rightwing politics.
Indeed, mass death works in the rightwingers’ favor whether it comes from bullets or a virus. When a population is scared enough, it will stop turning to democracy to solve problems. It will turn the party that promises to restore “law and order,” that is, rule by white power.
They can’t win, though.
They know it.
The massacres are the proof.
If they thought they could win, the rightwingers would do what the Confederacy did. Amass an army and invade. As it is, they freelance the political violence, standing against attempts to control the distribution of guns while signaling to the GOP’s wildcat paramilitaries that the time to “take their country back” and fight for their “freedom.”
Instead of attacking the government, a battle they can’t win, these paramilitaries hit "soft targets" like schools, churches and grocery stores. When seen outside the context of political violence, the attacks seem random, meaningless. But inside, they look like an insurrection.
Because that’s what it is.
They understand, perfectly
There is a straight line between Obama’s election, Sandy Hook, the election of Donald Trump, the J6 insurrection and Tuesday's bloodbath in Uvalde. Sure Salvador Ramos wasn’t white. But he probably wanted to become white, because to be white is to be in power, to not be white is to be subject to power. What better way is there to become white than by purchasing a gun and committing an act of political violence for the purpose of restoring the natural order of things?
This setting is where the gun-control debate should be located. Not in the Second Amendment. Not the Constitution. Instead, in the larger context of democracy, law and white power. To be pro-gun control is to be anti-white power. Ted Cruz and the GOP understand, perfectly.
We should, too.
The root cause is the Left's destruction of social,

Cannabis causes psychosis. Psychosis causes violence.
Alex Berenson
Yep, there it is, the first reference to cannabis use by Salvador Ramos, the Texas elementary school killer. In the New York Times.
Took 24 hours, give or take.
And Ms. Rodriguez recalled he would often talk about how much he despised his mother and grandmother, whom he told her did not let him smoke weed or do what he wanted.
SOURCE
This is only one case. Except it’s not.
Nikolas Cruz, the Florida high school shooter, was a heavy user and told the police detective who interviewed him that he heard voices. Devin Patrick Kelley - who shot up a Texas church and killed 26 people in 2017 before blowing his head off - had THC in his system when he died. (Kelley had anti-anxiety drugs too; a lot of heavy cannabis users wind up using Xanax or Klonopin to try to tamp down their paranoia.) Darrell Brooks Jr., last seen allegedly racing through the Waukesha Christmas Parade, is a self-described stoner.
Meanwhile, cities like Portland, Oregon have suffered an explosion in violence following the legalization of cannabis. Portland had 16 murders in 2013, the year before voters in Oregon approved full legalization. Last year it had 90. It’s on pace to have even more in 2022. It has gone from being one of the safest medium-sized cities in the United States to one of the most dangerous. Denver has seen a similar trend.

Interesting thing about that Marquette Poll Reverend (other than being an outlier on the abortion issue)...
Is that it finds a huge monstrous advantage to the GOP in terms of voter enthusiasm? If Abortion is so important for liberals, why is barely a third of them pumped up about voting in 2022?

GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker proposes 'a department that can look at young men that's looking at women that's looking at social media' in response to Texas shooting

Georgia GOP Senate nominee Herschel Walker once again had trouble talking about gun control.
Walker proposed more prayer in American life and a social media surveillance department.
The former NFL running back also brought up Cain and Abel from the Bible.
In a Fox News appearance Thursday morning, Republican Georgia Senate nominee Herschel Walker offered a vague proposal on surveilling social media to prevent mass shootings in the wake of Tuesday's attack at a Texas elementary school that left at least 19 children and two adults dead.
The former NFL running back said the focus should be on the shooters, not guns, and decried "people that's trying to score political points" by pushing for gun control legislation.
"We need to get into what happened to him, why, by putting money in mental health. Have people thought about that?" Walker said, referring to the 18-year-old alleged shooter in Uvalde, Texas. "We've gotta get back into prayer. People thinking now praying is bad. No, it's not bad. We need to pray for things like that. We need to continue to go out and fight, continue to take your constitutional rights away, and I think we can't do that."
When is enough enough? How many times do we have to have a mass shooting at one of our schools, or anywhere else for that matter, before our spineless politicians in Washington take action?
I am a gun owner. I believe in the right to bear arms. Our Second Amendment calls for “a well regulated militia.” Well, where on earth are the regulations? It is unconscionable that an 18-year-old can walk into a store and purchase not one, but two assault rifles with virtually no checks in place.
Unfortunately, our thoughts and prayers don’t do much to address this issue. What does address it is our votes. The vast majority of Americans support commonsense gun control. You have the power to effect change in Washington. Regardless of your party affiliation, vote for representatives who will effect change and vote out those who will not.
