The searing testimony and growing evidence about Donald Trump’s central role in a multi-pronged conspiracy to overturn Joe Biden’s election in 2020 presented at the House January 6 committee’s first three hearings, has increased the odds that Trump will face criminal charges, say former DoJ prosecutors and officials.

Ultimately, the avalanche of documents and sworn testimony proving a multi-faceted criminal conspiracy to overturn the will of the people means one thing: if no one is above the law, even an ex-president who led that conspiracy must be indicted.

Speaking with MSNBC host Alex Witt on Saturday afternoon, Donald Trump biographer Tim O' Brien suggested that Ivanka Trump knew before Jan 6th that things would take a turn for the worse after sitting in on Oval Office meetings and listening to her father and senior advisers make plans to make Mike Pence the villain if he refused to help steal the election.

Asked by host Witt if the president's daughter had a "bad feeling" about the "Stop the Steal" rally that eventually led to the insurrection, he said "absolutely."

"Do you get a sense from her testimony that Ivanka had a bad feeling about January 6th, even before the rally at the ellipse?" Witt prompted.

"Absolutely," he began. "We know from other accounts of what she did that day that she honored the fact that Mike Pence was resisting Donald Trump's pressure to decertify the electoral results on January 6th at the Capitol. And then she obviously was in the Oval Office with several other campaign advisers, including lawyers, who heard him swearing at Mike Pence, who heard him grow increasingly angry at Mike Pence, because Mike Pence wouldn't do a Donald Trump wanted him to do, which was to break the law."

Vice President Kamala Harris is set to lead the Biden administration’s latest disinformation task force, which appears to be disguised as programs and policies. On Thursday, White House officials unveiled plans they claim are intended to protect “political figures” and journalists from “misinformation” as well as “abuse.”

According to the presidential memorandum. the task force protects the online expression of those seeking government roles from internet critics. Some have seen this as a preemptive defense measure for future Biden nominees as disinformation czar Nina Jankowicz resigned after her internet footprint resurfaced during her nomination process.

However, Harris claimed the measure will shield all members of the intersectional community from disproportionate online scrutiny.

Well, I'd say that if she is effective in this role as she's been in her other assignments, nothing will get done here either.

So the @dnc had to move a May fundraiser with VP Kamala Harris to the fall because "they couldn't sell enough tickets."

Georgia election investigation 'will send Donald Trump to jail': former Watergate prosecutor

Tom Boggioni

June 19, 2022

According to former Watergate prosecutor Nick Akerman, he has no doubt that there is an ironclad case brewing in Georgia that will lead to an indictment and conviction of Donald Trump.

Speaking with MSNBC host Katie Phang, Akerman said the evidence is overwhelming that the former president tried to steal the election in the Peachtree state as evidenced by the phone call made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger demanding he find enough votes to secure the state's 16 Electoral College votes.

'You mentioned that you guys had tapes in the Nixon Watergate situation," host Phang pointed out. "We have a tape, though. We have that tape of Donald Trump pressuring Brad Raffensperger. In your opinion, you don't think that is going to be enough?"

"Oh I think that is enough," Akerman replied. "If you are asking which of the cases right now, which one is going to send Donald Trump to prison, that is the case. There is a really neat three-year felony in Georgia, that Donald Trump has violated. Prosecutors love tape-recorded evidence because you cannot cross-examine it"

The Electoral College System should be abolished.

Justices seem poised to hear elections case pressed by GOP

By MARK SHERMAN and GARY D. ROBERTSONan hour ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court seems poised to take on a new elections case being pressed by Republicans that could increase the power of state lawmakers over races for Congress and the presidency, as well as redistricting, and cut state courts out of the equation.

The issue has arisen repeatedly in cases from North Carolina and Pennsylvania, where Democratic majorities on the states’ highest courts have invoked voting protections in their state constitutions to frustrate the plans of Republican-dominated legislatures.

Already, four conservative Supreme Court justices have noted their interest in deciding whether state courts, finding violations of their state constitutions, can order changes to federal elections and the once-a-decade redrawing of congressional districts. The Supreme Court has never invoked what is known as the independent state legislature doctrine, although three justices advanced it in the Bush v. Gore case that settled the 2000 presidential election.

“The issue is almost certain to keep arising until the Court definitively resolves it,” Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote in March.

It only takes four of the nine justices to agree to hear a case. A majority of five is needed for an eventual decision.

It would mean that state legislatures could do anything unless the Supreme Court rejects this. Even if the opposition won the popular majority vote, state legislatures would decide the election results and send it to the Capitol Electoral College hearings.

Right.

The only thing you manage to prove when you post nonsense like this is that you cannot win without changing the rules in your favor.

The USSC not ruling in your favor every fucking time? Your answer is to pack it with leftists.

Democrat majorities at risk in the House and Senate? Your answer is to admit DC & PR into statehood.

Can't manage to win an election with the odds so completely and explicitly stacked in your favor like in 2016? Eliminate the Electoral College.

Ask yourself why you clowns can't seem to win within the confines of the rules established by a government close to 250 years old, alky.

The system is not the problem. The criminally insane assholes who run your party are.

Well sport, when democrat legislatures feel the need to violate their own state constitutions in order to tilt the electoral playing field in their favor, you have a problem. And that problem is a constitutional crisis at the state-constitution level.

If it were not for crooked democrats and their illegal bullshit, the USSC would not even have to consider hearing the case.

Let that sink in to your pickled mind.

The electoral college ensures that every one had a voice. If popular vote were used, the big states would decide everything. One only needs to look at NY for example. Much of upstate ny is moderate to conservative. But NYC liberals and democrats decide every election here. If this were used for president, states like WY, ND, SD, MT etc would never see a candidate and never matter.

6 in 10 Americans say Trump should be charged for Jan. 6 riot: POLL
MEREDITH DELISO
Sun, June 19, 2022, 9:00 AM
With the first full week of hearings for the House select committee's investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol now complete, nearly 6 in 10 Americans believe former President Donald Trump should be charged with a crime for his role in the incident, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds.

Six in 10 Americans also believe the committee is conducting a fair and impartial investigation, according to the poll.

In the poll, which was conducted by Ipsos in partnership with ABC News using Ipsos' KnowledgePanel, 58% of Americans think Trump should be charged with a crime for his role in the riot. That's up slightly from late April, before the hearings began, when an ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 52% of Americans thought the former president should be charged.

Gee Just maybe more people are paying attention to the hearings than our trumpists hoped for!!!!! Maybe rat would be happier living in Idaho if he needs to be nearer to idiots like himself!!

New Mexico isn't letting the slow motion coup to succeed in New Mexico State.

Officials in Otero County, New Mexico, voted to certify primary election results on Friday in compliance with a state Supreme Court order after refusing to do so, citing concerns about voting machines.

In a 2-1 vote, the Republican-led commission certified the county's results from its June 7 primary. One of the commissioners, Vickie Marquardt, said she voted to certify over fears of criminal charges and possible jail time.

“The New Mexico Supreme Court, the Democrat-controlled state legislature and the Democrat-controlled Secretary of State and the Attorney General will not allow us to withhold approval pending investigation. Instead, they are railroading this commission into rubber-stamping approval under the threat of criminal charges and jail,” Marquardt said in remarks Friday. “I will be no use to the residents of Otero County from jail or if I am removed from office.”

While there is no evidence of any problems with the voting process in this month's election, the commissioners have protested the use of equipment from Dominion Voting Systems, perpetuating conspiracy theories that came out of the 2020 election.

The three commissioners first refused to certify the primary results on Monday, citing debunked claims about Dominion voting machines. The following day, New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver sought to compel the commission to certify, noting there was no evidence to back up claims questioning the accuracy, and on Wednesday the state Supreme Court ordered the panel to certify the results by Friday.

"We dodged a bullet here," Toulouse Oliver told NBC News on Friday night, adding that the state's laws and the court's action prevented "the system from completely breaking down."

She said the state Legislature, which is controlled by Democrats, should consider more ways to protect elections from "rogue" officials.

Both Republican Senators from Utah are not Trump puppets

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) on Sunday volunteered to speak with the Jan. 6 Select Committee over text messages he sent to then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows about overturning the 2020 election.

During an interview on Fox News Sunday guest host Shannon Bream asked Lee about the criticism he has received for pursuing an alternate slate of electors that would reject the election of Joe Biden.

"First of all, I knew how bad Joe Biden would be as president," Lee said, defending his text messages. "I knew what a disaster he would be in the Oval Office."

"And there was some uncertainty in the wake of the election," he continued. "As we approached the end of December, there were rumors that continued to circulate suggesting that some states were going to be reallocating -- withdrawing and reallocating their electoral votes."

Lee said that he felt a responsibility to ask Meadows about the plan to overturn the election.

"I couldn't get answers," he recalled. "So I reached out to state lawmakers in various states -- not trying to influence anyone, simply trying to find out whether the rumors were true. The rumors weren't true."

Lee said that he eventually voted to certify the results of the 2020 election.

Another real Republican has spoken out
An ex-aide to former President Donald Trump said Sunday that Trump privately admitted he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden.

Driving the news: Alyssa Farah Griffin, the former White House director of strategic communications, said on CNN's State of the Union that Trump "blurted out watching Joe Biden on TV, 'Can you believe I lost to this guy?'"

The big picture: The Jan. 6 committee seeks to prove in a series of public hearings this month that the former president tried to overturn the election knowing that he lost.

The former Trump aide is the latest in a series of former White House officials to contradict Trump's false claim that the election was stolen.

Yes, but: Griffin added that she thinks proving intent will be difficult.

"I'm not of the mind that this is going to take down Donald Trump in a legal sort of way," she said. "But I do think it's going to inform the public about a man who lost and couldn't do what we've done for the entirety of our history, which is allow a peaceful transition of power."

What's next: The Jan. 6 committee will meet for another public hearing on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
