Even those who think the Jan 6th hearings so far have been spectacular...

Argue that the case has yet to be made, but apparently still believe it will be

Over the next few days and weeks, the committee will have to make clear, as I have long urged, that Jan. 6 was not an isolated, one-day invasion of the Capitol, but was instead a much larger constellation of coup activities, starting long before Jan. 6 and continuing to this day. If the committee cannot prove this overall conspiracy, it will fail. Equally important, the committee must also show that the threat to our democracy is ongoing.
So, can the committee deliver?
It depends. And it depends in large part on whether the committee shows, as the Watergate committee did, what the president knew and when he knew it. The committee has promised a blockbuster. And with two hearings down, it certainly seems off to a great start. But high expectations create the risk of unfulfilled expectations.

Off to a great start? Well your real audience was the 20 million or so you got from your primetime appearance and your great start did not include any real new revelations, bombshell reveals, or any actual proof of many of your allegations. Seriously, you have a problem if this was a "great start". I honestly wonder what a "bad start" would have been?

We have not seen the ratings from day two, but given it was during the day, not covered by many of the same outlets, we can be relatively sure that it was a ratings bust (much like the first one was). I really haven't heard much at all about the context of what was even covered. The problem here (of course) is if Democrats continue to just rehash the same tired old arguments that they have been making for 15 months, then you are not going to change anyone's mind.

But the reality here is even this particular cheerleader of an author is suggesting that the real meat of the Democratic argument will be in one of the upcoming sessions. There is a stipulation that the bombshell style new information type argument was not brought forward in days one or two.... but is expected to come. I not only believe this to be wishful thinking, but real honest to goodness cognitive dissonance. No way would they have held back the big splash from a Thursday night prime time slot so they could later reveal it on day 6 while being covered by CSpan and Headline News.

The reality is that much like the Russian collusion investigation, the real evidence that they need to bring forward is still being searched for. They simply don't really have it yet. Because much like the Russian collusion investigation it is unlikely that their own paranoid delusional beliefs are actually real. The reason they never found proof of Russian collusion was not from lack of trying. But rather because it never existed because there was no collusion.

Meanwhile, the left holds onto the idea that the commission will come up with some sort Watergate confession where Trump will admit to the world that this was not really him being a sore loser and thinking he that the election was stolen from him.  They seem to believe that Trump will be caught dead to rights plotting a sophisticated 22 point plan with the help of the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys and others to overthrow the county in an organized coup that is apparently still ongoing.

We've seen this theatrics before. It didn't end well for the Russian Collusion narrative. I doubt the Trump had a  sophisticated 22 point plan to overthrow our government narrative will do any better.  The problem isn't in the messaging, but in the reality. There was no collusion and there was no coup.

People like you have become neo fascist..

So Roger...

You continually attack Manchin and Sinema for doing little more than representing what their constituents want versus being a lock step vote for Biden and Democratic leadership. Both have been openly threatened, and Sinema has been harrassed while in a bathroom stall for Christ sakes. You seem to go along with the idea that these two are "traitors" and deserve the wrath of the liberals.

This particular person voted against the interests of the people he represents. It was his "choice" to vote to impeach Trump. He had that right. But people have every right to oppose that and criticize it. He may or may not be ousted in a primary by someone else who is more "pro-Trump". If he is that is just politics. He made a choice and the people will make theirs.

Are you a neo-fascist for wanting Manchin and Sinema to tow the line?

Two potential criminal charges.

Obstruct of the Electoral college procedure and

Breaking the law in Georgia with the infamous phone call.
Trump met with the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys on January 5th and said, “Tomorrow, I want you to breach that Capital and whatever happens, come hell or high water. You must make sure that their proceeding does not continue,” then you could link up the two as a conspiracy. It would still be to obstruct an official proceeding, not for the actual violence, unless you had a specific agreement: “I want you to beat up cops.” You’d have to show an agreement between those specific groups. And I don’t think we’ve seen that yet. We may never get there, but I don’t think we need to, because you can just show that he was trying to get alternate slates of electors, or that he was pressuring Pence to refuse to certify,

or that he was pressuring Georgia’s secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, to find him eleven thousand votes.

The Attorney General Merrick Garland is watching the hearings.

His own staff said that he lives in an alternate reality.

If he is charged for a crime, President Biden will pardon him and he cannot run for President again, because he is an admitted felon.

People like you will send him millions.

He is also facing tax evaluation in New York.

As to your post you really have lost your mind.

Plus a real Republican is facing vigilantes like the Brown Shirts in Germany in 1932.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — GOP Rep. Tom Rice had barely ever criticized Donald Trump before he shocked just about everyone by voting to impeach him in January 2021.

His experience over the next 17 months in his district might explain why so few in his party have chosen to join him.

Voters have hung out of car windows and yelled from crowds to call him a “traitor.” His chief of staff had to sort through death threats to decide which ones she needed to flag for Rice and which ones should go straight to the police. His wife was initially afraid to go to the grocery store.

That’s to say nothing of the political peril Rice finds himself in. On Tuesday, he will face a Trump-endorsed opponent, state Rep. Russell Fry, in a contest that is very likely to extend into a vicious runoff where the former president can continue his “revenge tour” against the incumbent.

Rice’s campaign is a vignette of what it means to cross Trump in today’s Republican Party. The personal cost to him and those who associate with him is compounded by the threat of a career-ending loss.

“He’s purging. He’s purging. He’s trying to set the Republican Party up as a bunch of yes-men loyalists,” Rice warned of the former president in an interview at a local bistro here Saturday. “Think about that. That’s scary.”

But you don't care about anyone else but yourself.

The symptoms of IED are more apparent every single day πŸ˜‘.

Roger...

I think we have the cart a little in front of the horse in this case...

Benny Thompson suggested that they have "evidence" that Proud Boys and Oath Keepers were in contact with people in the "Trump orbit". He didn't suggest which members of the "orbit" he is referring to, much less that Trump himself was involved in any conversations with anyone.

Again... one would think that if they had solid evidence of Proud Boys actually conspiring with anyone reasonably close to Trump that it would have comes out by now. They wouldn't be "holding it back" for a later time frame.

For all we know, some Proud boy might have had a beer with the My pillow guy and that is what Benny Thompson is talking about. Or perhaps this is all going to be like the debunked claim that something conspiracy based was going on when some Proud Boys ended up at the same bar as Kyle Rittenhouse, thus Rittenhouse must have got people for the Proud boys.

I offer that we don't even have a single name of anyone associated with Trump that "conspired" with the Proud Boys. We have an innuendo at this point. Nothing more.

Biden supports bottom up economics.
The fact is we’ve got about 790 or so billionaires in America.

You know what their average tax rate is? About 8%.

I believe that no billionaire should be paying a lower tax rate than a teacher, a firefighter, an electrician, or a cop.

But they have been cooperating with Israel recently.

Breaking news

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Tuesday that he is “comfortable” with the contours of a bipartisan deal on gun legislation and will back it if the measure “ends up reflecting what the framework indicates.”

"I’m comfortable with the framework and if the legislation ends up reflecting what the framework indicates, I’ll be supporting" it, McConnell said.

The powerful Republican's support would greatly enhance the prospects of the legislation passing the Senate.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

A centerpiece of the proposed deal is substantial resources for states to implement “red flag” laws, which allow individuals like police or family members to petition courts to keep firearms away from people deemed a risk to themselves or others.

Currently, 19 states and the District of Columbia have red flag laws on the books. The new provisions are aimed at increasing that number and improving their implementation.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) said Tuesday he's "comfortable" with the gun safety outline a bipartisan group of senators reached this week and will support the bill if it "ends up reflecting what the framework indicated."

Why it matters: McConnell's support for the gun safety deal makes it more likely to get over the 60-vote threshold needed to pass what would be the most significant legislative reform to gun laws in decades.

What he's saying: "For myself, I'm comfortable with the framework and if the legislation ends up reflecting what the framework indicated, I'll be supportive," McConnell said.

We have two parties here, and only two. One is the evil party, and the other is the stupid party. ... I'm very proud to be a member of the stupid party. ... Occasionally, the two parties get together to do something that's both evil and stupid. That's called bipartisanship.”
