Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, pressed 29 Republican state lawmakers in Arizona — 27 more than previously known — to set aside Joe Biden’s popular vote victory and “choose” presidential electors, according to emails obtained by The Washington Post.

The Post reported last month that Thomas sent emails to two Arizona House members, in November and December 2020, urging them to help overturn Biden’s win by selecting presidential electors — a responsibility that belongs to Arizona voters under state law. Thomas sent the messages using FreeRoots, an online platform intended to make it easy to send pre-written emails to multiple elected officials.

Why Democrats are pushing for a Supreme Court ethics code

Democratic lawmakers renewed calls to create a code of ethical conduct for the U.S. Supreme Court amid mounting scrutiny of Justice Thomas and his wife. ( Washington Post)

New documents show that Thomas indeed used the platform to reach many lawmakers simultaneously. On Nov. 9, she sent identical emails to 20 members of the Arizona House and seven Arizona state senators. That represents more than half of the Republican members of the state legislature at the time.

The message, just days after media organizations called the race for Biden in Arizona and nationwide, urged lawmakers to “stand strong in the face of political and media pressure” and claimed that the responsibility to choose electors was “yours and yours alone.” They had “power to fight back against fraud” and “ensure that a clean slate of Electors is chosen,” the email said.

The House select committee investigating the Capitol attack revealed at its inaugural hearing that Donald Trump’s top Republican allies in Congress sought pardons after the January 6 insurrection, a major disclosure that bolstered the claim that the event amounted to a coup and is likely to cause serious scrutiny for those implicated.

The news that multiple House Republicans asked the Trump White House for pardons – an apparent consciousness of guilt – was one of three revelations portending potentially perilous legal and political moments to come for Trump and his allies.

What is the difference when a group of republicans scream for Trump to have "4 more years" and when a group of democrats scream it?

The republicans are saying it during his election, the democrats are saying it during his sentencing.

The committee calls Jan. 6 an “attempted coup.” That makes it seem as if there was a chance of success. There wasn’t. It was an impossible plan hatched by screwballs, and it would have gone down as such if the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers hadn’t breached the Capitol. In the event, Congress still returned to fulfill its duty and count the electoral votes.

Many Congressional Republicans dishonored themselves by voting to object to electors, even after the riot. But most of the GOP refused to go along. The person who owns Jan. 6 is Donald Trump. Remarkably, he seems to welcome this. “January 6th was not simply a protest,” he wrote Thursday on Truth Social, “it represented the greatest movement in the history of our Country to Make America Great Again.”

Pity the people who went to Washington believing this nonsense, not least the more than 800 who have been charged with criminal offenses. Thursday’s hearing ended with video of rioters explaining their thinking, as their criminal charges flashed on the screen. “I did believe that the election was being stolen,” one man said, “and Trump asked us to come.”

Mr. Trump betrayed his supporters by conning them on Jan. 6, and he is still doing it.

So ny government hochul has taken another page from the Cuomo playback. Every 4 year cuomo reelection ny homeowners got a state tax rebate with a letter making sure to mention his name. So hochul is up for election now. Guess what we got.

And dim witted democrats will now think how wonderful she is.

A day before a mob of Donald Trump supporters smashed their way into the Capitol to disrupt the transfer of presidential power, then-Vice President Mike Pence’s top lawyer dashed off a fateful memo.

In the three-page document, attorney Greg Jacob concluded that if Pence were to embrace Trump’s demand that he single-handedly block or delay the counting of electoral votes on Jan. 6, he would be breaking multiple provisions of the Electoral Count Act, the law that has governed the transfer of power since 1887.

He will testify on Thursday

I don't think that either one will run next time. The Democrats are looking for a new younger direction.

And.

'There will be a prosecution in Mr. Trump's future': CNN legal expert

Tom Boggioni

June 12, 2022

Appearing on CNN early on Sunday morning, legal analyst Norm Eisen claimed that, whether or not the Department of Justice files criminal charges against Donald Trump, he can expect to be dragged into court in Georgia after a special grand jury hands down its decision on possible election tampering.

Speaking with host Christi Paul, Eisen first addressed the evidence presented at the first of six hearings being conducted by the House select committee investigating the Jan 6th insurrection before saying he would place his bet on Trump being indicted in Georgia first.

"I do see the evidence mounting for the new prosecutions," he told host Paul. "We have published that evidence in a big Brookings report and we have an evidence tracker that we put out after the first hearing -- listing after every hearing all the new evidence mounting towards from where we are now: a likely crime."

"That's not just me talking, that's a federal judge in California, who said Trump has likely committed crimes to proof beyond a reasonable doubt," he added. "But I think the evidence is particularly strong for a prosecution in the state of Georgia, where the Atlanta DA. has convened a special grand jury and we have that tape of Trump saying to [Georgia] Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, also expected to be a witness in these hearings -- Secretary Raffensperger just find 11,780 votes that don't exist."

"So, yes, I expect, quite likely, there will be a prosecution in Mr. Trump's future," he concluded.

We disgusted it on the day it happened

Six year old warned ⚠️ Lmao

It is abundantly clear. The Republican Party has created a monster. They have “trumped up” a real life monster, one more terrifying and menacing than any that has appeared in frightening horror films or our wildest childhood imaginations: Trumpenstein!

Who and what is Trumpenstein? Trumpenstein is a man-made creation, invented by shameful segments of the Republican Party. Using the decaying parts of America—racism, sexism and xenophobia—and combining them with the poisonous chemicals of narcissism, deception and fear, the Republicans have concocted a dangerous experiment.

Notably, the Republicans are not the only ones to blame for this invention. Like his predecessor Frankenstein, Trumpenstein needed an energy source. Inspired by the prototype’s incredible potential, none other than Fox News enrolled in the experiment. Who else could easily provide the high-voltage power and interconnected network needed to supply energy to such a dynamic contraption? Brought to life through the electricity of Fox News, Trumpenstein emerged as a mammoth, powerful and dangerous monster.

The cartoons are hilarious.

Jan 6th, caused inflation.

During Sunday’s broadcast of CNN’s “State of the Union,” former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers said that “banana Republicans” and the events of January 6, 2021 had contributed to the inflation underway in the U.S. economy.

Summers said, “We should focus on what’s important, not raising input prices for American producers, so they’re less competitive, which is what much of those tariffs do. Instead, we should be focusing on things that allow the leakage of key technologies to China and the like. We should pass at long last some kind of legislation, ideally, on a bipartisan basis that would raise the vastly excessive Trump tax cuts, join the world in taxing corporations, take down prescription drug prices. All of that would operate to reduce inflation. There are things we can do.”

Quite the 'self-own' alky.

You and the pederast are the only one's here with a Trumpenstein living under your bed and in your head rent free.

The rest of us are normal. And for that we get to come and go as we please, without the need for a door code.

Despite being an advocate of “civility,” “decency,” and “unity” in the past, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.) has apparently been so radicalized by her caucus that she now says the Republican Party is “diseased” and must be “cleansed.”

“This is, in my opinion, a diseased Republican Party. And it needs to be cured and cleansed,” Houlahan said on the Daily Beast‘s The New Abnormal podcast last month. “So the stakes of having a Republican, as an example, in my seat are more than just policy differences. They are democracy, in my opinion.”

The GOP is “diseased” and must be “cleansed?” Where have you heard such rhetoric before? It bears a shocking resemblance to the rhetoric of the Nazi Party.

“The numbers are catastrophically bad for Americans and the policymakers in Washington,” says Nancy Tengler, CEO and chief investment officer of Laffer Tangler Investments, a Nashville-based firm, echoing comments she previously made to MarketWatch.

“We now have clear evidence that inflation is broadening and accelerating,” says Peter Earle, research fellow at the nonprofit think tank The American Institute for Economic Research.

“The Fed is bluffing,” said Greenlight Capital’s David Einhorn at the 2022 Sohn Investment Conference on Thursday. “Inflation ain’t going away so fast. The Fed doesn’t really have the tools to stop the inflation.”

Smithfield Foods to shutter California meat-packing plant

Meat-packing giant Smithfield Foods says it will close its only California plant next year, citing the escalating cost of doing business in the state

Monroe said operating costs in California are much higher than in other areas of the country, including taxes and the price of water, electricity and natural gas.

“Our utility costs in California are 3 1/2 times higher per head than our other locations where they do the same type of work,” he said.
