| when all your networks cover a partisan political hit piece in lockstep one can sort of expect that a free nation of free thinking people will reject it |
When CBS gets a rating of less than half of what Young Sheldon would generally get, you know you have a problem! I wonder out loud how their advertisers felt about reaching less than half of what they otherwise might expect?
But hey... as it stands, about 315 million Americans choose to turn the channel. That begs the question about the motivation of the 20 million or so who decided to suck up the propaganda! Was it propaganda? Of course. There was no actual substance. Just innuendo and silly allegations that they could not prove in a million years?
I mean... does anyone "really" believe that Donald Trump had a sophisticated 22 step plan to overthrow the election? If you do, seek help!

The American Thinker sums up your irrational dialog.
Thursday evening's disgraceful spectacle concocted by congressional Democrats and the media will go down in history -- but not in the way they intended.
Far from shocking Americans with “new” testimony from a visibly terrified Ivanka Trump or a know-nothing Capitol police officer who described the Jan. 6 confrontations as “a war scene,” which it most certainly was not, Thursday's spectacle only reinforced the national divide between Trump supporters and the Democrats and the media elites.
Even Democrat strategists and media commentators admit that the hearings are not aimed at changing public opinion. "Instead, the committee's work is most clearly aimed at the top brass at the Department of Justice who will decide whether to bring charges against Trump and members of his inner circle," Jonathan Allen wrote in a commentary for NBC News.
That in itself should be enough to terrify any American who lived through the Cold War, or who read Kafka in high school or college.
We have entered an era of show trials, just like the extravaganzas produced by Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin in the 1930s.
Trump tried to overturn the election results and make himself President despite losing like even The Wall Street Journal and The New York Post says that you have been conned by Trump
The picture actually shows how crazy you have become
Except for anti-Semitic beliefs you have become a fascist.
Hey Roger...
I am not the one who did what my Government TOLD me to do and watched the one sided fiasco that EVERY NETWORK was forced to (or dumb enough to) air even those nobody watched it!
I am proud to be one of the 315 million Americans who did not join in lockstep and fall for the rhetoric!
Obviously you did...
How does it feel to be one of "suckers" (5%) who fell for this?
The committee calls Jan. 6 an “attempted coup.” That makes it seem as if there was a chance of success. There wasn’t. It was an impossible plan hatched by screwballs, and it would have gone down as such if the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers hadn’t breached the Capitol. In the event, Congress still returned to fulfill its duty and count the electoral votes.
***
Many Congressional Republicans dishonored themselves by voting to object to electors, even after the riot. But most of the GOP refused to go along. The person who owns Jan. 6 is Donald Trump. Remarkably, he seems to welcome this. “January 6th was not simply a protest,” he wrote Thursday on Truth Social, “it represented the greatest movement in the history of our Country to Make America Great Again.”
Pity the people who went to Washington believing this nonsense, not least the more than 800 who have been charged with criminal offenses. Thursday’s hearing ended with video of rioters explaining their thinking, as their criminal charges flashed on the screen. “I did believe that the election was being stolen,” one man said, “and Trump asked us to come.”
Mr. Trump betrayed his supporters by conning them on Jan. 6, and he is still doing it.

The Wall Street Journal has become one of 5%
You really need help Scott.
I have known you for 20+ years and you've become increasingly irrational.

So Roger...
You believe what the "committee" tells you!!!??!!!
I would laugh at you, but instead I am sad for you.
Let's just say I pity you...
You really do believe these people, don't you?
So wonder you are locked up!
The Jan. 6 Commission is a Democratic campaign ad, a thinly veiled partisan exercise — aired in primetime, with the cooperation of a liberal press — to bolster a failed Joe Biden presidency.
But rather than ignore it or look to the future, Donald Trump, the King Lear of Mar-a-Lago, decided to tweet — er, Truth — yet another statement confirming that he refuses to accept reality. “January 6th was not simply a protest,” he wrote, “it represented the greatest movement in the history of our Country to Make America Great Again.”
It wasn’t, of course. It was a national shame. One that neither Democrats nor Trump can stop obsessing over. It’s time for Republicans to move on.

This isn’t 2016, when the country was sleepwalking toward a Hillary Clinton coronation, and Trump was the only one pugnacious enough to say it doesn’t have to be this way.
He refused to accept that the southern border should be lawless and that China should be allowed to steal jobs. He knew, unapologetically, that the economy flourished under low taxes and little government interference. He pulled off one of the most jaw-dropping upsets in American political history, and — though the liberal media will never admit it — oversaw a term of mostly peace and prosperity.
But Trump has become a prisoner of his own ego. He can’t admit his tweeting and narcissism turned off millions. He won’t stop insisting that 2020 was “stolen” even though he’s offered no proof that it’s true.
Respected officials like former Attorney General Bill Barr call his rants “nonsense.” This isn’t just about Liz Cheney. Mitch McConnell, Betsy DeVos, Mark Meadows — they all knew Trump was delusional. His own daughter and son-in-law testified it was bull.
Trump’s response? He insults Barr, and dismisses Ivanka as “checked out.” He clings to more fantastical theories, such as Dinesh D’Souza’s debunked “2,000 Mules,” even as recounts in Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin confirm Trump lost.
Get over it
He lost his election and he actually wanted to hang Mike Pence
We all pity Roger.

So Roger...
You believe what the "committee" tells you!!!??!!!
I would laugh at you, but instead I am sad for you."
His life has deteriorated, he admits it has.
Oh...
Roger...
I feel bad for you.
one of the 5 percent who wasted a night on a bunch of lies!
And believe it!
Here is the really sad part.
Had Pelosi ACTUALLY created a real committee with people that had more then one view and actually held a real "hearing" with people making arguments from all sides...
They probably would have gotten three or four times the audience and people would have actually gotten something out of it.
Instead it was DNC propaganda designed to distract from the complete and total failure that the Democratic President and Democratic Congress has become.
Have you "really" thought about this?
One of the worst times in our history in terms of people seeing us going in the wrong direction. Everything from the economy to foreign affairs to getting along to whatever... is at all time lows.
And you believe that somehow going back 17 months and providing a one-sided bunch of nonsense to the 5 percent of the country who are just as crazy as the committee... is a good thing?
How did that HELP ANYTHING?
it certainly didn't help the DNC raise their election prospects.
They looked like idiots!
I'm here because I have made a lot of mistakes in my life but I'm not insane but I'm really worried about you Scott.
You really exhibit symptoms of IED.
At your age you can get help to delay it. But if you have it eventually you will end up in an assisted living facility or a nursing home 🏡
Get over it
really?
LOL!!!!
Which of us still thinks we need to rehash Trump?
Not me!!!
So you GET OVER IT!
You and the other 20 million need to "get over it".
Concentrate on the real problems.
You really have been going after crooked Hillary Clinton for 7 years
The main reason is that if Trump or DeSantis win in 2024. Our nation is at risk as bad as the Civil War
The main reason is that if Trump or DeSantis win in 2024. Our nation is at risk as bad as the Civil War
Why... do you think Antifa and other liberal terror groups will storm the Capitol? Because the right will be happy as shit to get old man Biden out!
Obviously Pelosi will be replaced as Speaker..
Then perhaps they will put together a real commission to find out why Schumer and Pelosi didn't want beefed up security, ended up with less than normal police presence and didn't notify them that they have intelligence of a possible riot?
Then they can hold the in contempt when they refuse to cooperate!
What do you think about them apples?
The broadcast was precision-timed (ending one minute short of two hours), tightly scripted and with a narrative arc designed for maximum emotional and political effect. According to the Nielsen ratings firm, it drew 20m viewers – roughly equivalent to a presidential primary debate, and more than the 5.2m that the 2015 primetime Benghazi hearing featuring testimony from 2016 Trump rival Hillary Clinton.
Sandra Garza, partner of Brian Sicknick and Serena Liebengood, widow of U.S. Capitol Police officer Howie Liebengood cry as Erin Smith, widow of DC police officer Jeffrey Smith and former Washington police officer Harry Dunn look on as they attend the hearing of the U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol, on Capitol Hill in Washington, U.S., June 9, 2022.
Vivid retelling brings horror of January 6 back to scene of the crime
It mixed never-before-seen footage, evocative witnesses and succinct delivery of pertinent, headline-grabbing quotes in a setting where politicians are often better known for rambling and repetitive speeches.
Fifty years ago, the Senate Watergate committee made TV history with its raw, spontaneously chaotic but revelatory hearings into Richard Nixon’s election subversion.
On Thursday night, by contrast, the treatment of Trump’s election subversion was polished and pre-conceived, with the committee chair, Mississippi Democratic congressman Bennie Thompson, and vice-chair, Wyoming Republican Liz Cheney, the daughter of former vice-president Dick Cheney, reading off an autocue.

We don't know yet if it will change minds, because we live in a different world of information..
When Reagan repealed the fairness doctrine, along came Fox News and eventually the internet has changed the world.
The Republican Party wants to distract attention for its own reasons.
Inflation and social issues like IRT
You are acting like Putin by editing me

But yeah Roger...
I see why you want to fight for $5.00/gallon gas and no baby formula. I can see why you would want to fight to make sure we still fuck up everything internationally? I can see why you want to fight to make sure crime keeps going up! Obviously you will take up arms to prevent conservatives to try to deal with homelessness and open borders!
Yep...
The shitshow we are in right now under Democrats!
Sure worth taking up arms to protect?
Why would we ever want to go back to wage growth, low inflation, a rising stock market, lowest minority unemployment, lower crime, and a secure border!
All of that... is fighting words for Roger!
Can't have any of that! Need a horrible economy, inflation, crime, and homelessness! That is what Roger is ready to fight to keep!
Donald Trump achieved another first in US presidential history on Thursday night. He was, in front of millions of people, accused by a congressional panel of attempting to overthrow the US government.
Ginni Thomas pressed 29 lawmakers in bid to overturn Trump loss, emails show
“January 6th was the culmination of an attempted coup,” said Bennie Thompson, chair of the House of Representative’s select committee investigating the insurrection at the US Capitol. “President Trump summoned the mob, assembled the mob and lit the flame of this attack,” added his vice-chair, Liz Cheney.
The political and legal implications could be devastating, just as the Watergate hearings were for President Richard Nixon half a century ago. But today America, and its media, are bitterly divided, and Trump, who once boasted that he could shoot someone and not lose voters, has repeatedly shown that what does not kill him makes him stronger.
You really have become Vladimir Putin and Pravda and censorship
Simple math Roger...
337 million Americans.
If 20 million watched...
then 317 million did not!
And you keep acting like 20 million is good. For all of the pomp and circumstance for all of the networks caving to cover it and for all of the hype...
they had to be hoping for at least 50-60 million... minimum.
They were demolished and must want to cry!
You know what Putin would do Roger?
He would put on political witch hunt dog and pony show attacking his political opponents...
and then make all of the Russian networks cover it!
That is what dictators do!
Donald Trump achieved another first in US presidential history on Thursday night. He was, in front of millions of people, accused by a congressional panel of attempting to overthrow the US government.
LOL!
Donald Trump didn't do anything, Roger.
For the first time in the history of our country, our Congress decided to dedicate an entire commission into replaying a failed impeachment of a former President.
This is 100% on Pelosi and her cronies...
0% on Trump!
The fact that you believe Thursday night was Trump's doing... is why you are locked up with a crazy man!
The numbers: The University of Michigan’s gauge of consumer sentiment fell sharply to a record-low reading of 50.2, down from a May reading of 58.4. Economists polled by the Wall Street Journal had expected an June reading of 59.
The level is comparable to the low point reached in the middle of the 1980 recession, the university said.
Americans’ expectations for overall inflation over the next year rose to 5.4% in June from 3.3% in May, while expectations for inflation over the next five years jumped to 3.3% from 3% in the prior month.
That’s the highest level since 2008, according to Kathy Jones, strategist at Charles Schwab.
But we have a kangaroo court on TV that no one but those locked up are watching.
Biden’s plan to address your concerns.
I ran for president because I was tired of the so-called trickle-down economy. We now have a chance to build on a historic recovery with an economy that works for working families. The most important thing we can do now to transition from rapid recovery to stable, steady growth is to bring inflation down. That is why I have made tackling inflation my top economic priority. My plan has three parts:
First, the Federal Reserve has a primary responsibility to control inflation. My predecessor demeaned the Fed, and past presidents have sought to influence its decisions inappropriately during periods of elevated inflation. I won’t do this. I have appointed highly qualified people from both parties to lead that institution. I agree with their assessment that fighting inflation is our top economic challenge right now.
Second, we need to take every practical step to make things more affordable for families during this moment of economic uncertainty—and to boost the productive capacity of our economy over time. The price at the pump is elevated in large part because Russian oil, gas and refining capacity are off the market. We can’t let up on our global effort to punish Mr. Putin for what he’s done, and we must mitigate these effects for American consumers. That is why I led the largest release from global oil reserves in history. Congress could help right away by passing clean energy tax credits and investments that I have proposed. A dozen CEOs of America’s largest utility companies told me earlier this year that my plan would reduce the average family’s annual utility bills by $500 and accelerate our transition from energy produced by autocrats.
Because you haven't read the news, they believe that they have evidence that he is guilty of Obstruction and taxes in New York
We can also reduce the cost of everyday goods by fixing broken supply chains, improving infrastructure, and cracking down on the exorbitant fees that foreign ocean freight companies charge to move products. My Housing Supply Action Plan will make housing more affordable by building more than a million more units, closing the housing shortfall in the next five years. We can reduce the price of prescription drugs by giving Medicare the power to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies and capping the cost of insulin. And we can lower the cost of child and elder care to help parents get back to work. I’ve done what I can on my own to help working families during this challenging time—and will keep acting to lower costs where I can—but now Congress needs to act too.
Third, we need to keep reducing the federal deficit, which will help ease price pressures. Last week the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projected that the deficit will fall by $1.7 trillion this year—the largest reduction in history. That will leave the deficit as a share of the economy lower than prepandemic levels and lower than CBO projected for this year before the American Rescue Plan passed. This deficit progress wasn’t preordained. In addition to winding down emergency programs responsibly, about half the reduction is driven by an increase in revenue—as my economic policies powered a rapid recovery.
My plan would reduce the deficit even more by making common-sense reforms to the tax code. The Internal Revenue Service should have the resources to collect taxes that Americans already owe. We should level the international taxation playing field so companies no longer have an incentive to shift jobs and profits overseas. And we should end the outrageous unfairness in the tax code that allows a billionaire to pay

In other words...
He was tired of a conservative economy that actually works!
Reagan, Trump, etc...
Because you haven't read the news, they believe that they have evidence that he is guilty of Obstruction and taxes in New York
You know Scott Adams made a great point the other day...
The sole ENTIRE reason that Pelosi, Democrats, and their idiot minions DEMAND that there was no election fraud (in spite of multiple individuals being charged, plead guilty, or are being tried for fraud)...
Is because no Judge (between the election and the certification) ruled that any of the state results were invalid. The lack of a formal legal ruling from any judge is why they say there was no fraud.
But they insist Donald Trump committed a crime, even though he has been investigated by about 10 different prosecution jurisdictions and not even been charged.
Logical double standard.
Reagan initiated top down economics
Before then.
But sides both of them put more money into the top one percent than the middle class when Eisenhower built the interstate system and built dams on the Missouri River.
Bill Clinton added 21 million middle class jobs and Obama presided over the longest economic recovery in history.
The last Republican President who left office with more jobs than before he took office was President George HW Bush.
Biden is trying to build a bottom up economics course.
But the odds are not good now.
Scott these should be the next candidates
U.N. Nikki Haley. And Senator Tom Cotton for Arkansas would be the best choices for America 🇺🇸
Plus the American Dream is not dead
Listen to most experts, and you’d think the economy is going up in flames. In fact, tens of millions of U.S. households are thriving more than in decades.
Why it matters: High gas prices, stock market volatility and inflation are hiding the reality that the economy is working for a huge swath of Americans — and has richly bolstered their nest eggs.
Here's a rarity — a parade of encouraging news:
Houses: It's hard to find one to buy — and the 66% of Americans who do own houses are seeing their home values soar. The middle class has made a whopping $2.1 trillion from homeownership in the past 10 years, Fortune reports.Retirement accounts: Despite the recent sell-off, they've been fattened by the stock market. And the share of people who say they expect to work past their early 60s has dropped below 50% for the first time.Jobs: 11.4 million are open. The unemployment rate is 3.6% — back to pre-pandemic lows.Safety nets: 68% of Americans say they have cash for a rainy day.Millennial homeownership: It’s at 43%, up from 37% last year.
Reality check: There's still plenty of pain in this economy — likely with much more to come.
The tight housing market is pricing out millions of renters and potential buyers.Rising prices — at the pump and in the grocery store — are draining wallets.
That helps explain one of the bigger polling conundrums we've seen:
We think things are going fine for us, but terribly for America. 78% of Americans are confident in their personal financial well-being, but just 24% are confident in the U.S.' financial well-being, per Federal Reserve data reported by the Atlantic's Derek Thompson (see chart above).
The bottom line: Things haven’t been so good for so many in decades, Dean Baker of the Center for Economic and Policy Research told The New York Times.
"You'd have to go back to the late 1990s to find a similar era. Before that, the 1960s."
Editor's note: This story was originally published on June 6.
Roger...
I personally know about a half dozen people who expected to retire and are still working because their investments have tanked and they cannot afford to stop working. I know more and more people who are not spending money, not going out, not buying things.
Consumer spending at places like Walmart and Target are catering.
Things are not better than they have been for decades.
Anyone suggesting that should be put in a lock down ward with a crazy person as a roommate.
Alky my best friend whom I had lunch with yesterday, owns several food truck and beer restaurants in ATL. Basically food trucks pull up, so the menu changes daily and he doesn’t have to have a kitchen or staff the kitchen.
The average employee makes $35 an hour slinging beer and cleaning the tables.
He just shelved 2 expansions owns the real estate. But the estimate in September to build out one location had gone from $750k to $1.4 mill.
That’s what an entire food hall cost him to build out, 3 years ago.
You’re an idiot in lock down, inflation is crushing Americans and it’s the Donks fault.
November is coming
Roger believes things are great!
Well he gets his economic insights at axios, from an English major……
Fact Checker called on Republican leaders Friday over newly revived claims that President Donald Trump was not responsible for a no-show by the National Guard during last year’s January 6 uprising.
Trump has repeatedly blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for blocking some 10,000 members of the guard that day. But Pelosi has no control or jurisdiction over the National Guard in the District of Columbia. Trump does.
Several media outlets, from USA Today to The Washington Post and Nation World News, have dismissed Trump’s claims that he called the guard and that Pelosi stopped him from guarding the Capitol.
Trump even boasting in a videotaped statement A day after the 2021 uprising that he “immediately deployed the National Guard and federal law enforcement to secure the building.
Sorry Alky but Annenberg gaslighted you
On Thursday, December 31, says the current accepted narrative, the District of Columbia mayor rang an alarm about protests at the Joint Session of Congress. In fact, the opposite is true. What the mayor did, was ask for the minimal number of National Guardsmen and women to help out the Metropolitan Police Department, and she warned that those troops should be unarmed and not directly involve themselves in any protests.
Mayor Muriel Bowser sent a letter on New Year's Eve to Maj. Gen. William Walker, commanding general of the District of Columbia National Guard, requesting support on January 5 through 6. She said Guard personnel would support the MPD and the District Fire and Emergency Medical Services. "[N]o DCNG personnel shall be armed during this mission, and at no time, will DCNG personnel or assets be engaged in domestic surveillance, searches, or seizures of [U.S.] persons," she wrote.
Alky you fell for more lies
WASHINGTON (TND) — A Capitol Police timeline of the days and weeks surrounding Jan. 6 shows former President Donald Trump’s Department of Defense (DOD) offered the National Guard’s assistance in the days leading up to the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol, validating claims from Trump administration officials that were said to be false by liberal fact-checkers.
What we also know is that President Trump wanted to make sure that the people that came, that there was a safe environment for that kind of assembly,” former President Donald Trump’s Chief of Staff Mark Meadows told Fox News’s Sean Hannity.
And I’ve said that publicly before — the 10,000 National Guard troops that he wanted to make sure that everything was safe and secure," Meadows said. "Obviously having those National Guards available, actually the reason they were able to respond when they did, was because President Trump had actually put them on alert.
Liberal “fact-checkers” like The Washington Post and PolitiFact argued the claim about National Guard assistance coming from Meadows and other top Trump administration officials was false, but an official timeline of the events leading up to Jan. 6 apparently shows differently.
According to the timeline, a DOD official reached out to Capitol Police Deputy Chief Sean Gallagher four days before the attack on the U.S. Capitol to inquire about whether Capitol Police anticipated they would request National Guard troops be deployed to prepare for Jan. 6.
