Two big problems for Democrats found in these numbers

More than 1 million voters switch to GOP in warning for Dems

WASHINGTON (AP) — A political shift is beginning to take hold across the U.S. as tens of thousands of suburban swing voters who helped fuel the Democratic Party's gains in recent years are becoming Republicans.
More than 1 million voters across 43 states have switched to the Republican Party over the last year, according to voter registration data analyzed by The Associated Press. The previously unreported number reflects a phenomenon that is playing out in virtually every region of the country — Democratic and Republican states along with cities and small towns — in the period since President Joe Biden replaced former President Donald Trump.
But nowhere is the shift more pronounced — and dangerous for Democrats — than in the suburbs, where well-educated swing voters who turned against Trump's Republican Party in recent years appear to be swinging back. Over the last year, far more people are switching to the GOP across suburban counties from Denver to Atlanta and Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Republicans also gained ground in counties around medium-size cities such as Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Raleigh, North Carolina; Augusta, Georgia; and Des Moines, Iowa.

Two big problems for Democrats here. The first is obvious. These people who are switching Parties are voters.  People who don't vote, don't tend to switch their Party affiliation. The second is that for every person who had taken the time to switch Parties there will be many others who are moving in that direction, but are either politically unaffiliated or unwilling to take the official step of switching Parties.

Now is it possible that there are some Democrats who switched Parties to vote in the GOP primaries against certain Trump Republicans? Certainly possible in places like Georgia. But nowhere near enough to undo the concept of a mass exodus of voters from the whiny liberal complaining Democratic cry fest.

To put this in perspective if a million voters have switched in 43 states, that would just under 25,000 per state. If those are voters switching votes, that is a 50,000 vote swing in each of these states. Enough to have swund the 2020 election to Trump and more than enough for the GOP to have held the Senate.

Either way... there is a shift that is happening right now and it is based entirely on the lack of real leadership and accomplishment from the Democrats, who were gifted in 2020 with full control of the White House and both chambers of Congress. They have not done much of anything "right" and would appear that they want to make the 2022 elections about things that have nothing to do with what Biden and the Democrats have done or things that are actually in their control.

This will trigger Wok diatribes.

The House of Representatives has passed H.R. 2543, The Financial Services Racial Equity, Inclusion, and Economic Justice Act. The bill tasks the Federal Reserve with assessing and finding ways to address socio-economic disparities between racial and ethnic groups.

The Congressional Budget Office assessment projects a $1 million-dollar annual cost for the Fed to meet these new goals.

“The legislation would support efforts of financial institutions like community development financial institutions and minority depository institutions that are working to serve historically underserved communities and promote greater diversity in corporate and bank governance,” the White House stated in a release. “The administration strongly supports efforts to promote equity for underserved communities and increase access to safe and affordable financial services, wealth, and economic opportunity for all Americans.”

If the Democrats can uset the Supreme Court decision and gain a majority??

They will plan to introduce legislation that would add four seats to the Supreme Court, which would, if passed, allow President Biden to immediately name four individuals to fill those seats and give Democrats a 7-6 majority.

FDR failed.

Plus Garland should have been there now and he might have gotten The Chief Justice Roberts to not overturned Roe v Wade or a carefully crafted different path..

Explain this to me like I am a six year old?

The USSC effectively put Abortion back to the States.

Democrats will lose the House and will not get anywhere near a filibuster proof majority... meaning they can do very little about abortion.

Keep in mind that abortion is a top issue for a fraction of our country and those people are pretty much split between pro-choice and pro-life. While the overall abortion deal might be 60-40 that is not where the politics lays out.

As it stands you probably have 15% on one side who are vigilant about abortion and 15% on the other side equally vigilant... and then the other 70% believe it not a "vote changer" for them.

If Democrats come out and demand that they are wanting to do something radical (toss the filibuster, use executive action, use the DOJ to undermine the decision).

Don't you believe that will also motivate the pro-life crowd to come out in droves in support of a decision that they have worked a lifetime to accomplish?

Imagine Roger...

You worked a lifetime to get something.

You finally get it.

Someone demands that they will take it away from you?

Would that motivate you??

Precisely. Because the left worships at the altar of government and abortion is their single blessed sacrament, they think it's the same for all.

$5 headed for $6, headed for $7 per gallon gasoline and 20% inflation to put food on the table, and the majority of Americans couldn't give a shit less about abortion.

But the issue does display just how stupid and disingenuous the left is on the issue.

"This is what democracy looks like!" is quite literally the issue here, and they STILL have to lie about it.

Thinking this is a game-changer for the midterms is the rantings of an imbecile.

CNN’s Jake Tapper failed to get U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson to concede that American democracy is under attack during Sunday’s episode of “State of the Union.”

When I talk to friends in Canada, the U.K., Australia and elsewhere, people express concern about the United States in terms of our ability and our institutions to thrive and continue after what happened with the election of 2020. They worry that democracy is on life support in the United States,” Tapper said.

“Are you worried at all?” Tapper asked.

“No, I want to say to the people of the United States, I’m not. Let’s get back to what I’ve been trying to say to you throughout this interview. I think that reports of the death of democracy in the United States are grossly, grossly exaggerated. America is a shining city on a hill,” Johnson said. “

“I won’t get into the details of the system. I’ll wait until the contract actually gets done,” he said. He added that President Joe Biden informed his G-7 counterparts and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the upcoming security assistance package.

Aaron Blake:
“The overturning of Roe v. Wade has long occupied an unusual space in conservative politics. On the one hand, the Republican Party has pushed for it for decades; on the other, even as it has done so, plenty within its ranks have assured that it wasn’t happening.

“The party seemed to want the benefits of the push with its base, without the consequences of the unpopular prospect with the broader electorate.

It also knew that overturning Roe was a red line for some key abortion-rights-supporting GOP senators whose votes were needed to confirm the justices who would eventually overturn Roe.

“So it — and, crucially, those senators themselves — shrugged off the notion as if it were some kind of manufactured political issue.

“All of those assurances have now proven foolhardy, at best, and cynical, at worst.”

“Think of the Civil Rights Era

Or Barack Obama and a diversifying America (which led to Trump).
Or Trump’s presidency (which led to Joe Biden and a Democratic Congress).

Generally most people believe that the Bill of Rights was about providing individuals with rights... not providing the state with rights to control individuals.

It's actually neither. It mainly addresses what the government CANNOT do to you.

"Shall not be infringed..." etc.

0linsky actually described the US Constitution as a charter of 'negative liberties.'

Obama in his interview disparages the Constitution as merely "a charter of negative liberties. It says what the states can't do to you. Says what the federal government can't do to you but doesn't say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf." He believes—and he's right—that changing this is the way to bring about "redistributive change."

But the founders were deeply purposeful and intellectually coherent in their definition of rights. Classically, rights are the lowest, most basic universal claims. Think of them as the ground rules for everyone, weak and strong, to respect each other and get on.

Their important characteristics are these: First, they exist outside of us, coming from God or nature, not government, and so are independent of the whims of government and cannot be either manufactured or, of even greater concern, extinguished when they get in the way of someone powerful. No one has to give us the ability to pursue happiness; it comes from within ourselves.

Second, they are timeless, applying regardless of whether it's 200 years ago or a thousand years in the future—governments can't use the excuse "well, that was then, but times have changed."

Third, they are universal, applying to everyone, not just some preferred subset.

And fourth, they are noncoercive, or negative: They delineate what others cannot deprive you of without due process of law. And they prevent you from being coerced.

What is concept of federalism?

Federalism is a mixed or compound mode of government that combines a general government (the central or "federal" government) with regional governments (provincial, state, cantonal, territorial, or other sub-unit governments) in a single political system, dividing the powers between the two.

What is the main purpose of federalism?

The goal of federalism is to preserve personal liberty by separating the powers of the government so that one government or group may not dominate all powers. The Framers believed that divided power was limited power and applied this theory as they created the Constitution.

Federalism is "dangerous" but deceiving voters into thinking you are something you are not is just fine.

Democrat South Carolina U.S. Senate candidate Krystle Matthews, who serves as a state representative, appeared to advocate for “sleeper” Republican candidates and funding campaigns with illegal dope money in what is claimed to be a leaked call.

Made public by Project Veritas, the audio appears to feature Matthews discussing with an inmate the possibility of changing politics from the inside by having Democrats run as Republicans.

“We need some secret sleepers. Like you need, we need them to run as the other side, even though they for our side. And we need them to win,” she said on the call.

“We need people to run as Republicans in these local elections,” she appeared to argue. “This is the only way you’re gonna change the dynamics in South Carolina.”

Matthews later stated a belief these “sleepers” could “wreak havoc” on the inside.

“When we get enough of us in there, we can wreak havoc for real from the inside out,” she said. “Then we can flip some shit from the inside out.”

And the last CBS News Poll released after the draft already stated that Democrats were more likely to vote (40%) because of abortion - meaning 80% of that is already built into this and quite obviously has not really helped the Democrats in the generic polling or any of the relevant races.

Immediately after the Supreme Court struck down Roe, the Proud Boys and other extremists “celebrated” on social media by fantasizing about sexually assaulting and raping women, while others talked of burning crosses and brandishing concealed firearms to intimidate pregnant people.

Former Donald Trump has filed a notice that he will appeal the dismissal of his First Amendment lawsuit against Twitter, documents filed in appellate court reveal.

The 45th president and several additional plaintiffs including anti-vaccine advocates, COVID-19 misinformation spreaders, and conservative activists signaled their intent to appeal by filing a notice of appeal as well as a series of procedural exhibits in a Monday filing with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

In May of this year, the lawsuit was dismissed by U.S. District Judge James Donato, who found that the content moderation decisions made by Twitter in no way impacted the First Amendment because Twitter is not the government.

“Plaintiffs’ main claim is that defendants have ‘censor[ed]’ plaintiffs’ Twitter accounts in violation of their right to free speech under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution,” the judge noted in an 18-page order. “Plaintiffs are not starting from a position of strength.
