Why are liberals so dumb?

There was never any "right" to an abortion, there is not a single law that will be overturned anywhere, and the court did not "legislate" from the bench.

How do you know you lost an argument? When you have lie, misrepresent, or use rhetoric rather than come up with a logical argument. I get that this is an "emotional" subject, but being overly emotional does not make your argument any more valid. In fact, it generally means your argument is missing something substantial.

What I have heard from pro-choicers for the most part is emotional arguments that we have heard a thousand times before. It really doesn't matter how emotional you are, how strongly you feel, or how long you have held a belief.  The idea that abortion was a "privacy" right (when you cannot find that same privacy argument regarding smoking a joint in your own home) was not, is not, and never will be a good argument. Under the same logic, one could offer that there is a privacy concern for almost all actions (even many that are currently illegal).

To be clear, the original decision was one where the result was predetermined and the court had to simply come up with a legal reasoning to justify it. This happens quite a bit I suppose, but in some cases the "reach" that is required to get to that predetermined position is longer than other times. There is little question that scholars from both sides of the philosophical debate agreed that the merits of Roe were lacking in an extreme fashion. The issue (for many) was to simply demand Judges "promise" them not to use actual legal reasoning if it came down to it. They wanted the bad decision "protected".

I have no issue with someone who will come out accept that this was going to happen eventually and that we need to work as a country to comes up with a solution. What I take issue with are those who demand that this was nefarious, unjustified, and ruled based on bad judgement.

At the end of the day, this is a Republic with a whole ton of differing opinions on a whole ton of subjects. Why is it that certain people feel the need to literally "control" the actions of everyone else everywhere else. If California and their residents want to allow the killing of a baby up until the point the doctor slaps the ass and it starts to breath, well then... that is California. If Missouri wants to ban abortions for any reason other than health, well that is their right as well.

If we want to get together as a country as a whole and actually legislate something, then both sides need to understand that the country is neither going to follow California or Missouri. They are going to want a compromise that satisfies the most people, while likely pissing off the 20% of the zealots on either side.

Biden is the national emergency

Funny how liberals keep demanding that we are heading for civil war and they are the Party that controls the White House and both chambers of Congress. If they do not like what is going on, then why not just vote out the culprits?

The bottom line is that the Republican Party is just getting started.

Republicans are already calling for a nationwide abortion ban

Republicans have also started to build a foundation to further restrict abortion access in the US, especially if they retake control of Congress.

“Having been given this second chance for Life, we must not rest and must not relent until the sanctity of life is restored to the center of American law in every state in the land,” former Vice President Mike Pence tweeted Friday.

House Republican leaders — including Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Republican Study Committee chair Jim Banks, and Judiciary ranking member Jim Jordan — are already lining up to support legislation that would impose a nationwide ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy, CNN reported.

That ban could pass the House if Republicans recapture the majority in this year’s midterm elections, as they are widely expected to, but it probably wouldn’t win support from a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, even if the GOP regains control of the chamber. It is possible that Republicans could choose to eliminate the filibuster to pass the ban, but so long as a Democrat remains in the White House, they would veto any such legislation.

Republicans have also indicated that they plan to reintroduce the “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act” if they recapture the House majority. That bill would put in place requirements for the care of infants born after failed, late-term abortions and could send doctors to prison if they fail to comply. Reproductive rights and physician groups have previously opposed the legislation on the basis that it could criminalize doctors and is duplicative of existing laws that already support infants in these very rare cases.

And those plans appear to be only the beginning of their ambitions.

“In the days and weeks following this decision, we must work to continue to reject extreme policies that seek to allow late-term abortions and taxpayer dollars to fund these elective procedures,” McCarthy said in a statement Friday. “As we celebrate today’s decision, we recognize the decades of advocacy from the pro-life movement and we acknowledge much work remains to protect the most vulnerable among us.”

Plus they are planning on putting GPS tracking devices on pregnant women. If a woman from South Dakota could be prosecuted for murder when gets an abortion in any other state if she returns home.

Good One Roger...

The side who does not have the White House or either sides of the chamber is going to "outlaw" abortion across the board, even though they have several pro-choice congresspeople...

They would need 67 votes to override a veto in the Senate and 2/3 in the House...

Are you really this stupid?

Or do you think parroting this nonsense will actually convince someone to vote for the failures currently running our Government?

Of course but I'm shocked that how crazy the current Republican Party has become.

In my home state.
The law reads:
This came into effect the day of the decision

"Any person who administers to any pregnant female or who prescribes or procures for any pregnant female any medicine, drug, or substance or uses or employs any instrument or other means with intent thereby to procure an abortion, unless there is appropriate and reasonable medical judgment that performance of an abortion is necessary to preserve the life of the pregnant female, is guilty of a Class 6 felony." Iow day after pills are a felony

More:Read more about South Dakota's trigger law here.

More litigation expected
Now that there is a total ban on abortion in South Dakota, pro-life leaders say there are plenty of ways to make the Mount Rushmore State the least abortion-friendly state in the country.

And that's exactly what they intend to do.

From increasing the penalty for abortions to adoptions laws and exceptions for rape and incest, there is still much more coming in the form of legislation on this issue.

It's unclear when a special session may be called on the matter, but Gov. Kristi Noem has said she would call one when the decision was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court. As of Friday morning, no immediate date has been announced.

The right of independence is gone.

As a libertarian you should be against it

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined protesters outside the Supreme Court shortly after the decision was announced and traveled to her state of New York to join massive crowds demonstrating to protect abortion rights. A group of House Democrats also took to the Capitol stairs to sing “God Bless America” and were promptly slammed on social media for being “f****** useless.”

Roger....

No need to worry. Enough babies will die due to Biden's baby formula shortage to more than make up for the lack of killing in the womb!

You see... there was already a plan in place!
