- 72% support an abortion ban after 15 weeks - which was literally the issue being decided in Dobbs
- However 55% against the Dobbs decision (but the number opposing is dropping poll by poll)
- Six in ten believe that Democrats are wrong to say the USSC is illegitimate
- Majority now sees Jan 6th commission as biased

November is coming.
And just yesterday democrats showed the entire country just how much they hate America.
All of the plagiarisms and lies in the world won't save the left from the thrashing they'll take in the mid-terms.
Fuck the 4th wasn't good messaging by the democrats ?
Who would have thought.
Did we save another 16 cents this year ?
Like Joe bragged about last year ?
or is the math racist this year ?
Notice that only 6 percent of the country chose Jan 6th as one of their top three concerns.
Only childless Reverends who believe theu know what is best for children and nursing home residents who think they geniuses apparently listed it.
Fuck the 4th wasn't good messaging by the democrats ?
It's not like they even needed to say it out loud. I've known since I was a little kid that democrats hate America with a searing, blinding rage.
Jan 6th is 14th on the list of important issues
The Civil War must be way overstated in history books
I think it must have been mostly peaceful
The Big Lie is the pretext for the refusal to accept the peaceful transfer of power to political opponents who are seen as evil and dangerous.
Forget about the dropboxes, mules, and rigged voting machines; nobody really cares about the votes or the counting of votes. It’s not about that; it’s about winning — or to be more precise, defeating the enemy.
A subtext of right-wing politics now is that the other side simply cannot be allowed to win. They hate America, they hate God, and they will destroy everything you hold dear.
And ✔️ you don't care.
When did I ever say I was childless?
Once again, Lil Schitty ad libs polls to fit his hatred of women.....Claiming 72% support aborttion BAN after 15 weeks is pure BULLSHIT,,,,,,,,,sad he is on the losing side again and resports the the trump method of debating.....making shit up!!!!! Support 15-Week Abortion Ban—But Don’t Want ...
The poll found 48% of respondents at least somewhat support restricting abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy, while 43% oppose it. The share of those who strongly oppose a 15-week
Sad how lil schitty conveniently omitted the following details of his BS thread
poll found 48% of respondents at least somewhat support restricting abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy, while 43% oppose it.
The share of those who strongly oppose a 15-week ban is higher than the share that strongly support it, however (34% versus 31%).
Support for 15-week bans was heavily dependent on respondents’ political party: only 21% of Democrats backed 15-week bans versus 75% of Republicans
The Big Lie is the pretext for the refusal to accept the peaceful transfer of power to political opponents who are seen as evil and dangerous.
Well the big lie is from your side...
There was plenty of election fraud and the general public agrees with me not you.
and they are literally trying to "criminalize" someone questioning the results of an election and taking legal steps to make legal claims and legal court suits and legal manners to protest and contest said election.
Next thing you know Biden will be having his political opponents jailed or killed... you know, like Putin and other dictators do when they are threatened by someone who might have popular support.
Oh wait... that is the third world dictator move that Biden is attempting today.... isn't it!
And you support it.
You actually support the jailing of political dissenters and opposition and will be taken in by the Gestapo style trial trying to prove that legal moves are illegal because of the "bad orange man" or something!
Biden's War on Middle Income and low income Americans.
"Biden tells Americans angry about high gas prices that they'll have to pay up 'as long as it takes' to defeat Putin in Ukraine."
Joe, you are losing .
A majority of black and Hispanic adults believe that the U.S. is already in a recession, according to a recent Economist/YouGov poll.
The poll found that 51 percent of black Americans and 54 percent of Hispanic Americans “believe the United States is currently in an economic recession.”
There was plentry of election fraud and the general public agrees with me not you.

Trump Actively Holding Discussions About 2024 Bid

Donald Trump is holding discussions about announcing a 2024 campaign, sources told The Hill, “with some current and former advisers believing it is a matter of when, not if, Trump will launch a third White House bid.”
Sources say a campaign announcement could come as early as this summer.

The Supreme Court Will Rule on Democracy Itself

On the final day of its term last week, the Supreme Court announced that it will hear Moore vs. Harper, a North Carolina case involving gerrymandered congressional district maps drawn by the state’s Republican-controlled legislature. North Carolina’s Supreme Court rejected the maps because they violated the state Constitution in illegally favoring Republicans.

The House committee investigating the Capitol insurrection will hold a public hearing next Tuesday to present evidence related to the Jan. 6 attack.
The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 12, at 10 a.m. ET, according to an advisory the committee sent out Tuesday.
The announcement comes after the committee delayed one of its hearings last week to give the committee more time to prepare and as they continue to learn more information.
Jan. 6 committee considers criminal referrals of Trump to Justice Department

“The next couple of hearings will cover the run-up to Jan. 6, the marshaling of this mob that appeared on the mall that day, and the attack on the Capitol,” Schiff said last week ahead of the committee's June 28 hearing.
An Atlanta grand jury investigating former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election have subpoenaed a handful of Trump allies, including Rudy Giuliani, Lindsey Graham, John Eastman, Jenna Ellis, Cleta Mitchell, and Kenneth Chesebro.
As CNN points out, several state officials have already been subpoenaed and have appeared before the special grand jury led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
Speaking on MSNBC this Tuesday, legal analyst Allie Vitale said, it's "striking how close this investigation is now getting to the former president, but then also ... how closely these names are now tracking with what [the Jan. 6 committee] is now bringing to light

Fulton County special grand jury issued subpoenas Tuesday for key allies of former President Donald Trump, including lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), according to court documents obtained by Axios.
The intrigue: This is the closest jurors have gotten to the former president's inner circle during the investigation into potential criminal interference in Georgia's 2020 election, writes the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which first reported the subpoenas.
Details: The grand jury also issued subpoenas for podcast host Jacki Pick Deason, as well as lawyers John Eastman, Cleta Mitchell, Kenneth Chesbro and Jenna Ellis.
The subpoenas were signed by Fulton Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney, who is overseeing the grand jury.McBurney signed a “certificate of material witness” for Graham, Giuliani and others, saying they're necessary for this ongoing investigation, AP reports.
Zoom out: The subpoenas came after the jury heard testimony over the last weeks from various witnesses in the election investigation, AJC reports. Some of the witnesses included people who had direct contact with Trump.
The investigation could end with criminal charges against Trump for violating state law by trying to overturn the 2020 election, Axios' Emma Hurt writes. The panel, which will focus primarily on the Trump investigation, will make recommendations about criminal prosecution for the district attorney's consideration.
Sorry Scott but your hero is going to jail
and they are literally MOVING to "criminalize" someone FOR questioning the results of A LEGITIMATE election and taking ILLEGAL steps to make FALSE claims and MERITLESS court suits and ILLEGAL manners to OVERTHROW said LEGITIMATE election.
Well Reverend...
Give me the last candidate who was charged with a crime for questioning an election, going to court, or otherwise making protests or contests to those elections?
Just one will do....
Any politician who went to jail in the United States for questioning an election?
and they are literally trying to "criminalize" someone questioning the results of an election and taking legal steps to make legal claims and legal court suits and legal manners to protest and contest said election.
_______

and they are literally MOVING to "criminalize" someone FOR questioning the results of A LEGITIMATE election and taking ILLEGAL steps to make FALSE claims and evoke MERITLESS court suits and encourage ILLEGAL activities to OVERTHROW a LEGITIMATE election.
The jury believes Giuliani “possesses unique knowledge concerning communications between himself, former President Trump, the Trump Campaign, and other known and unknown individuals involved in the multi-state, coordinated efforts to influence the results of the November 2020 election in Georgia and elsewhere,” according to the subpoena.
I revised my statement a little, Ch.
But to answer your question,
No President has ever gone to jail for QUESTIONING an election, but Trump will go to jail for criminally attempting illegally to invalidate, overturn, and overthrow a legitimate election.
He is the first President who tried to a stop the peaceful transition of power in history and he will die in jail
And once again, you censored my revision, so here it is again:
... and they are literally MOVING to "criminalize" someone FOR questioning the results of A LEGITIMATE election and taking ILLEGAL steps to make FALSE claims and attempt MERITLESS court suits and encourage ILLEGAL activities to OVERTHROW a LEGITIMATE election.
AlextheChick: Do You Realize That The Left Has Denied the Legitimacy of Every Single Republican President Since the Elder Bush in 1988?
But remember -- it's a crime to question the legitimacy of Joe Biden, and the FBI will bash down your door and seize your phones and computers if you do.
GHWB is the last Republican President to be elected without Democrats claiming his election was illegitimate. 2000 was 22 years ago. For anyone 40 and younger, every Republican President since they were eligible to vote has been considered illegitimate by both Dems and the press.
For those of us upper end Gen X and older, it is difficult to internalize that Bill Clinton being President is as remote to Millennials and younger as, say, Nixon being President is to upper end Gen X. Sure, it happened but that's history. Ancient history.
2008 is 14 years ago. You would have to be at least 32 and then 28 to have voted for Obama. For younger Millennials and upper end Gen Z, that's the President when they were kids and they maybe sorta remember that being a big thing.
2016 is six years ago. You have to be at least 24 to have voted for Trump. The point of going through this chronology is to stress, as many others, that for the last 22 years, every Republican President has been considered illegitimate by large swathes of the press and public.
If you are under 40, you grew up in a world in which a Republican being President was deemed per se illegitimate. You grew up in a world where what those illegitimate Presidents did was per se illegitimate. It is the air you breathed and the water you drank. This is what you know
This is simply the truth. Bush was installed by the Supreme Court and then did *handwave* something wrong to be re-elected, after all, he shouldn't have been President in the first place. Republicans play a game with the Electoral College, which is anti-democratic, to win.
Every Republican President is wrong and everything they do is wrong, and Trump let Russians change votes to make him President so what he did was extra super wrong. Since everything they did is wrong, then every action they took is wrong and SCOTUS is illegitimate. It's logic.
It is irrelevant whether this is true. It is what two generations of people have been told. People believe this because why would those people who are the experts in politics say this if it wasn't true? That's what they are paid to do, that's what they know, they wouldn't lie.
...
A very few people there know that I have a JD and I was asked privately to explain what Dobbs meant. When I told those people that Dobbs meant states decided abortion laws and that CA and NY now have some of the most permissive laws in the world, I was met with shock.
Why? Because all the news sources they consume told them otherwise. I was accused of lying. I was accused of making it up. And when they went and checked and found out I was correct, the utter cognitive dissonance was painful to behold. Because these sources they trust lied.
The response was not to question worldview and whether those sources were lying to them about other matters. The response was ego defense. Okay well this is wrong but TX banned and that's what the rest of the country will do and they weren't lying, they were just upset!
That is the mental barrier with which messaging that's not fully of the Left, let alone being of the Right, is up against. Two generations of being told that Republicans are evil cheaters who aren't a legitimate political party. Two generations of no civics education, not really.

No....
He just challenged an election and took legal steps in a variety of courts to try to prevent the election from being certified before many of those suits were ever settled.
There is zero proof that Trump had anything to do with any violence and there is nobody with half a brain actually believes that the Jan 6th riot could have actually prevented anything.

Btw...
You should read the article that was linked to the bigger lie post.
It has a great factual run down in the events from Georgia (which of course have been misrepresented by those gaslighting you).
At issue was the fact that well over 12,000 voters were known to have illegally cast their ballots in the wrong precincts and that they believed that they had been counted as valid ballots. Eventually it was shown that they were but not until much later.
Had that number been "confirmed" then the amount of potential illegal ballots would have been larger than the difference... and Trump would have been legally granted a stay of the certification according to Georgia and US Election law.
But the numbers were being slow rolled and some were saying they would not have them for months. The phone call made by Trump and his team was specific to those 12,000 or more votes. They wanted those vote to be confirmed in time to grant the stay.
A simple explanation if you know all the facts...
It was never about Trump telling anyone to "add votes to his total" but to provide an earlier confirmation of the number of votes counted that would eventually end up being found to be illegally counted.
but that is not what you are being told...
and the main reason why the actual Attorney General will not press charges against Trump in Georgia... regardless of what the Fulton County prosecutor finds in their partisan attack investigation (that has no power to indict or charge Trump anyways).

The White House official that reports say is disputing account of Trump's actions on January 6 has a history of lying for him, former aides say

The Trump White House official who is said to be disputing Cassidy Hutchinson's explosive testimony has a history of lying for former President Donald Trump, two former White House aides said.
In her testimony to the select committee investigating the Capitol riot, Hutchinson, a former top aide to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, said Trump became "irate" when his Secret Service detail refused to let him join his supporters marching on January 6, 2021.
Citing what she said was a conversation with Tony Ornato, then the White House deputy chief of staff in charge of operations, Hutchinson said that Ornato told her that Trump tried to grab the wheel of the presidential SUV and lunged at the Secret Service agent Robert Engel.
Hutchinson said Ornato told her that Trump shouted, "I'm the effing president, take me to the Capitol now."
But Ornato is said to be disputing that account and plans to say as much in testimony to the January 6 committee, USA Today reported. CNN's Shimon Prokupecz also reported last week, citing an unnamed Secret Service official, that Ornato denied telling utchinson that Trump lunged at a Secret Service agent or the steering wheel.
Ornato plans to say that it was true that Trump wanted to join those marching on the Capitol on January 6, but that he never lunged at Engel or tried to grab the steering wheel, USA Today reported.
Similarly, NBC News' Peter Alexander reported that Engel is prepared to testify under oath that he wasn't assaulted by Trump, and that the former president never lunged for the steering wheel.
But the former White House officials Olivia Troye and Alyssa Farah Griffin criticized Ornato, saying he has a history of lying for Trump.
Threr conversations that happen that are inconvenient conversations for Tony and then he comes back and says that they never happened," Troye, who served as a homeland security and counterterrorism advisor to Vice President Mike Pence, told USA Today.
"That really speaks to Tony's character and credibility, and whether he has a history of doing [Trump's] bidding, and then denying it to protect him," she added.
And Griffin, a former Trump White House communications director, tweeted on June 29: "Tony Ornato lied about me too. During the protests at Lafayette sq in 2020, I told Mark Meadows & Ornato they needed to warn press staged there before clearing the square. Meadows replied: 'we aren't doing that.'"
"Tony later lied & said the exchange never happened. He knows it did," she wrote.
Hutchinson told the January 6 hearings that Trump wanted to join his supporters marching on the Capitol on January 6 because he wanted to give a second speech outside the complex. The mob had marched on the Capitol immediately after Trump spoke at a rally at the nearby Ellipse.
A former Secret Service agent previously told Insider's Nicole Gaudiano that it would be extremely hard for Trump to grab the wheel of the presidential SUV, given his size.
"Trump's not a little guy, right? And the space to actually be able to lunge towards the wheel is not that big," the former agent said.
"I don't mean to sound disparaging to the former president, but just his girth would prevent him from actually getting to the steering wheel," the agent continued.

Answer my statement, Ch.
Intelligently for a change.
Willis, in seeking the formation of the grand jury, told a judge in January that she had received information indicating a reasonable probability" that Georgia's election "was subject to possible criminal disruptions."
Willis said that information included reports that people "associated with these disruptions" contacted Raffensperger, Georgia's attorney general and the U.S Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia.
The U.S. Attorney, Byung "BJay" Pak, abruptly resigned on Jan. 4, 2021, in a surprise move.
Two days earlier, Trump in a phone call that occurred while he was still president, urged Raffensperger to "find" him enough votes to overturn Biden's win. "All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes," Trump told him.
That call occurred four days before the U.S. Congress began meeting in a joint session to confirm the Electoral College victory of Biden.
The attempted coup started on the day after the election day.
And some of it before that
No, I remember he said that only after having previously thrown a fit because he could not get the metal detectors turned off so armed protestors could join him on the Ellipse to become part of the crowd he would knowingly send ARMED to the Cpitol because, he said, they had not come armed to hurt him.

Because regardless of the hearsay testimony of a 20 something Gen Z assistant to the assistant was implying...
The actual Secret Service Agents have been fully debriefed by the DOJ on everything they dealt with that day. Their statements will be the legal standard here. Obviously they cannot go back now and change what they testified to months ago.
That alone is prosecutable.

The 21-year-old suspect in the July 4th Highland Park parade mass shooting was charged Tuesday with seven counts of first-degree murder.
Eric Rinehart, the Lake County, Illinois State Attorney told reporters that he will request a judge to hold Robert "Bobby" Crimo III while the investigation continues. If convicted, the suspect faces up to life in prison without parole.
"I want to emphasize that there will be more charges. We anticipate dozens of more charges centering around each of the victims, psychological victims, [and] physical victims," Rinehart said.
The update in the investigation came after a seventh victim died Tuesday from injuries sustained in Monday's mass shooting.
Authorities believe the massacre had been planned for weeks, and they say more than 70 rounds were fired from the gunman's high-powered rifle, which was similar to an AR-15.
The impending criminal charges to be filed against Donald Trump by the district attorney of Fulton County, Georgia, and the U.S. Department of Justice are both very different from the thousands of previous lawsuits in Trump's career. Those civil cases, both past and present, have always been about money. The soon-to-be criminal cases will be about Trump's personal freedom — and whether he will be wearing an orange jumpsuit for the next several years.
Scott they are going to get him
Yeah the walls are closing in...again.
Putting a former president on trial for alleged criminal behavior would be the first prosecution of its kind in American history. It would also do much toward restoring the myth that no person or corporation is above the law. As James Doyle has explained, putting Trump on trial "redeems American justice."
Looking both backward and forward, I would argue that putting the former racketeer in chief and his accomplices on trial for seditious conspiracy to overthrow the U.S. government — arguably the ultimate constitutional crime — is more tangible than the abstract goal of redeeming American justice. In this insurrectionary moment, "substantive" due process justice trumps "procedural" due process justice.

Never anything original
His vice chair was cheated in Florida but Gore conceded the day the Supreme Court decision was made.
At least Al Gore got his day in Court... and got timely responses from the local Florida court system. There were no delays or demands that he come to court with "proof" of anything. He got all of his complaints aired and was able to move up the chain all the way to the FSSC as well as the USSC before the safe harbor date.
In Georgia (for instance) they knew that they had more potential illegal ballots than the margin of victory... and it turned out that the questionable ballots were many more than necessary. But the whole thing was stalled beyond the safe harbor dates.
Ironically many of you believe that it is Trump who did something illegal in Georgia when that was one place where he had an absolute valid claim in retrospect. Just never got the time to get an actual total of these erroneously counted ballots.
Again... challenging elections is not illegal.
Holding rallies is not illegal.
And incitement is incredibly difficult to prove the fact that Trump told his people to specifically march "peacefully" puts an end to that. Even if he was indicted, that case would be tossed on precedent. All the way to the USSC the ruling on incitement requires very specific instructions to be provided.
It cannot be some roundabout manner of suggestions of implication and innuendo or trying to prove there was some wink wink, nod nod... or even bringing forward someone who said they were motivated by another to commit a crime.
Not enough... not even close to enough in terms of legal precedent to previous incitement cases.
The impending criminal charges to be filed against Donald Trump by the district attorney of Fulton County,
The DA of Fulton County cannot charge Trump...
The "special grand jury" has no actual authority to issue indictments.
it's like the Jan 6th commission... they can only "recommend".
First you really believe the fake video.
The document goes on to detail why the former mayor of New York City is now wanted for questioning under oath:
As part of those efforts, on December 3, 2020, [Giuliani] and other individuals known to be associated with both him and the Trump Campaign appeared publicly before the Georgia State Senate at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. At that hearing, [Giuliani] provided testimony, additional witnesses, and documentary evidence purporting to demonstrate the existence of election fraud in multiple Georgia counties during the administration of the November 2020 election. Among the evidence offered by [Giuliani] was a video recording of election workers at State Farm Arena in Atlanta that purported to show election workers producing “suitcases” of unlawful ballots from unknown sources, outside the view of election poll watchers. Within 24 hours of the December 3, 2020, legislative hearing, the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office debunked the State Farm video and explained that its investigation revealed no voter fraud of any kind had taken place at State Farm Arena.

Because he is no longer the President Georgia has the authority to investigate and protect him
Roger...
You actually believe that someone suggesting fraud is committing a crime?
Though largely boilerplate, the subpoenas due contain allegations specific to each of the would-be witnesses.
The Chesebro subpoena implicates the Harvard-educated appellate attorney in a plot to convene a slate of alternate electors who would have voted for Trump instead of the actual winner in Georgia:
This work included the coordination and execution of a plan to have 16 individuals meet at the Georgia State Capitol on December 14, 2020, to cast purported clectoral college votes in favor of former President Donald Trump, even though none of those 16 individuals had been ascertained as Georgia’s certified presidential electors by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. The Witness drafted at least two memoranda in support of this plan, which were provided to the Georgia Republican Party, and the Witness provided template Microsoft Word documents to be used by the Georgia Republican Party at its meeting on December 14, 2020. Further, the Witness indicated in communications with the Georgia Republican Party that he had worked directly with Trump Campaign attorney Rudy Giuliani as part of the coordination and execution of the plan.
Court papers variously detail the alternate electors plan, the fake suitcases full of votes video scheme, and general schemes to overturn the election, including Trump’s infamous phone call to pressure Georgia Secretary Brad Raffensperger (R) to “investigate unfounded claims of fraud” and “find 11,780 votes” in his favor.
The Graham order relates to “at least two telephone calls” the senior senator from South Carolina made to Raffensperger and members of his staff “in the weeks following the November 2020 election in Georgia.”
“During the telephone calls, [Graham] questioned Secretary Raffensperger and his staff about reexamining certain absentee ballots cast in Georgia in order to explore the possibility of a more favorable outcome for former President Donald Trump,” the subpoena says.
In one such call, the senator allegedly asked Raffensperger whether he had the power to throw out all mail ballots in certain counties based on signature match rates, The Washington Post previously reported.
Each of the witnesses is being asked to testify on July 12, 2022.

The state of Georgia... led by the GOP Attorney General could charge him.
But the Fulton County District attorney has sat a special grand jury that does not have the right to indict... all she can do is ruffle a bunch of feathers and try to pressure AG Carr to indict Trump.
He cannot be charged by the Fulton County District Attorney. That being said, I am not surprised that the Salon author in this case doesn't know the difference.
If the witnesses has direct evidence beyond a reasonable doubt according to the judge, It's evidence that the jury can decide whether or not to believe it

really?
What the hell Roger?
Are you late for your meds again?
If the grand jury investigation provides evidence the state Attorney can can file changes.
You would have been a terrible lawyer.
Just like the January 6th committee 🔎 finds evidence then you know who can file changes
Scott I have already researched this. You are the one who needs help
Trial
After many weeks or months of preparation, the prosecutor is ready for the most important part of his job: the trial. The trial is a structured process where the facts of a case are presented to a jury, and they decide if the defendant is guilty or not guilty of the charge offered. During trial, the prosecutor uses witnesses and evidence to prove to the jury that the defendant committed the crime(s). The defendant, represented by an attorney, also tells his side of the story using witnesses and evidence.
In a trial, the judge — the impartial person in charge of the trial — decides what evidence can be shown to the jury. A judge is similar to a referee in a game, they are not there to play for one side or the other but to make sure the entire process is played fairly.
If the grand jury investigation provides evidence the state Attorney can can file changes.
Which is what I have been telling you all along.
She can only "recommend" charges.
You keep acting as if she can indict him.
But ultimately it is up the the GOP District Attorney to decide if he gets charged regardless of what this Fulton County investigation provides. He would have to "believe" he can convince 12 members of a jury unanimously against the former President of the United States in a state where the man gets 50% of the vote. All it would take is one Trump fan on the jury (when in likelihood there will be several) to prevent a conviction.
So in reality... The AG would only push forward charges if he believes he can convince Trump supporters that Trump is guilty of a crime.
That is his burden to bring charges...
Do you believe that a Republican DA in a fairly red state would in good conscious believe he could turn these sort of nonsense charges against the cult figure Trump into a unanimous guilty verdict?

Democrats See Hope In Retaining Senate Control
July 5, 2022 at 7:57 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 6 Comments
“When asked to share their candid thoughts about the Democrats’ chances of hanging onto their House majority in the coming election, party strategists often use words that cannot be printed in a family newsletter,” the New York Times reports.
“But a brighter picture is coming together for Democrats on the Senate side. There, Republicans are assembling what one top strategist laughingly described as an ‘island of misfit toys’ — a motley collection of candidates the Democratic Party hopes to portray as out of the mainstream on policy, personally compromised and too cozy with Donald Trump.”
January 6 Committee to Hold Hearing Next Week
July 5, 2022 at 7:44 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 21 Comments
“The House panel investigating the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol last year has called its next hearing for July 12 where it is expected to lay out evidence on how the pro-Trump mob was organized, assembled and financed,”
USA Today reports.
“The public hearing, the panel’s seventh, is set for 10 a.m. ET.”
New York Times:
“It is expected to be led by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) who plan to chart the rise of the right-wing domestic violent extremist groups that attacked the Capitol and how Mr. Trump amassed and inspired the mob. The panel also plans to detail known links and conversations between political actors close to Mr. Trump and extremists.”
Ex-Trump Press Aide to Testify Publicly
July 5, 2022 at 7:42 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 7 Comments
“Sarah Matthews, who served as deputy press secretary in the Trump White House until resigning shortly after the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, has been subpoenaed by the House select committee investigating the insurrection and has agreed to testify at an upcoming hearing,” CNN reports.
“Matthews has been subpoenaed to testify at a public hearing as early as next week.”
Actually yes because the vast majority of justices of both parties are believed that the law matters more than you can imagine
James we should leave him alone for now but have fun during the hearings @
Thanks Roger...
I had no idea what a prosecutor is or what they do. (sic)
Keeping in mind that I actually took some law classes when I first got to College (before I went into CompSci). I didn't care much for the research that you had to do back in the day with actual books in a library (it was a serious pain back then to do research and write papers). If we had had the internet back then... I probably would have pursued law.
But in all of my 59 years on this earth...
Never knew that a prosecutor went to trial! Had no clue. Thought they just "willed" people to jail or flipped a coin. Never even watched a single episode of the 100 different legal shows on television.
Thanks for enlightening me....
What Ch calls "nonsense charges" are sure seeming ever more damning.
He is getting worse..
.
I see similar behavior here every day.
He has IED
Actually yes because the vast majority of justices of both parties are believed that the law matters more than you can imagine
Justices?
Or prosecutors?
Not even sure what you are referring to anymore Roger?
But any Attorney General or District Attorney must believe that they can garner a conviction. It doesn't matter one bit if they believe that the person committed a crime or not. What matters is whether they feel that they can convince a jury unanimously to find someone guilty of the charges...
beyond a reasonable doubt.
Remember the prosecutors from NY who resigned in protest when their District Attorney told them that their case against Trump was not enough to convince 12 members of a jury?
No matter where you do outside of D.C. itself... you are going to run into enough Trump supporters that it will be impossible to keep them all off a jury. Even if you have 3 or 4 jurist who are Trump fans out of 12... no way are you convincing them that he committed these crimes.
it would be like me trying to convince you or Reverend that he didn't commit the crimes. You were convinced before you even heard any evidence that he is guilty of pretty much everything he has ever been accused of.
Yet... he is not in jail. Never been to trial. Has not been charged or even indicted. Six years of non-stop investigations from everyone and their brother... and what do you got? A couple of civil cases still open, a fake Congressional committee that has not ability to charge him, and a county Grand Jury that cannot indict him in Georgia.
What Ch calls "nonsense charges" are sure seeming ever more damning.
And how many actual Trump fans agree with you Reverend?
When neutral observers such as Turley and McCarthy suggest that there is no actual criminal cases (in any of this).... are you suggesting that they are idiots who know less than the Salon and Guardian reporters... or Lawrence Tribe who believes that he could convince 12 members of a Jury (including Trump supporters) that he committed murder?
The underlying bar that any prosecutor needs to meet is simple...
They need to believe that they can get a conviction. They do not go into a trial knowing that they are going to lose, just to say they charged someone. No real DA would allow any of their prosecutors to do that...
Just like the DA in the SDNY told the two prosecutors (who resigned). While they might believe what they believe... the DA thought it unlikely that 12 jurists would be convinced (especially knowing at least some of them would be Trump supporters).
So unless you believe you can convince Trump supporters sitting on a jury...
You simply got no case.
Clear back in high school I read several books a week about the law and medical care because I was interested in one of them but I didn't study enough.
Like I said before a professor told me that I had the ability to get into MIT and Harvard etc but I got into the hippie culture
I made a lot of mistakes but I remember things you can't imagine.
I started watching Perry Mason and almost every legal program.

Garland won't charge him until next year but in Georgia within a month of two and they will get him convicted by a jury of his peers.
You are only 12 years older than me
Garland won't charge him until next year but in Georgia within a month of two and they will get him convicted by a jury of his peers.
So you believe that Republicans in Georgia will all unanimously find Trump guilty of a crime beyond all reasonable doubt? Based on the finding of a partisan Democratic DA in Fulton County?
I tell you what Roger...
I will give you till the end of August (two months).
Then we will see if Trump is in jail.
If you are wrong... you will have to admit publicly that I am much smarter than you are!!!
You are only 12 years older than me
You are 47?
Younger lollipop
But one more witnesses.
Another top Trump aide agrees to publicly testify before J6 committee: CNN

Another top Trump White House aide has agreed to publicly testify before the House Select Committee Investigating the Jan. 6 Attack on the U.S. Capitol, CNN reported Tuesday evening.
"Sarah Matthews, who served as deputy press secretary in the Trump White House until resigning shortly after the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, has been subpoenaed by the House select committee investigating the insurrection and has agreed to testify at an upcoming hearing, according to two sources with knowledge of the investigation," Katelyn Polantz and Ryan Nobles reported. One of the most experienced members of the Jan. 6 select committee on Tuesday explained the significance of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis subpoenaing Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Trump attorneys Rudi Giuliani, John Eastman, Cleta Mitchell, Kenneth Chesebro and Jenna Ellis.
"Just a short time ago, the Jan. 6 committee announced its next hearing will be a week from today, July 12th, 10:00 a.m. It did not announce witnesses or the topic," CNN's Anderson Cooper reported. "Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA), who is on the committee, previously said the next hearing will focus on, 'efforts to assemble that mob on the mall' as well as the connections between the former president's allies and extremist groups at the Capitol that day."
For analysis, Cooper interviewed select committee member Zoe Lofgren (D-CA). Lofgren has experience in all four modern presidential impeachments, having worked for the House Judiciary Committee member Rep. Don Edwards (D-CA) during Watergate. When Edwards retired in Congress, Lofgren succeeded him and served during the impeachment of Bill Clinton and both of Trump's impeachments.
"What is your reaction to the news that several of the former president's allies were subpoenaed today by a Georgia special grand jury investigating the effort to overturn the election results?"
"I think that's a very big deal," said Lofgren, who also taught at the University of Santa Clara School of Law.
"These are the individuals who we have shown through our hearings conspired with bogus claims of fact, bogus legal theories, to essentially overturn the democracy and many of them have refused to really come in and tell the truth to us," she explained. "They're going to find a very different situation in Georgia and this criminal grand jury and I think it's a very important step forward."
"Obviously we have no way of knowing the details of the investigation, but I think it is very significant," Lofgren said.

The grand jury is pursuing Chesebro’s testimony about a plan “to cast purported electoral college votes in favor of former President Donald Trump, even though none of those 16 individuals had been ascertained as Georgia’s certified presidential electors by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp,” according to the documents. Chesebro had contested in internal Trump campaign memos that 16 fake electors for the former president should convene at the Georgia Capitol on Dec. 14, 2020, to falsely certify Trump as the election’s victor, according to documents reviewed by The Post.
