Twenty state attorneys general sued the Biden Administration, claiming that the directives infringed on states’ right to enact their own laws on the matter. The states also argued that forcing schools to use transgender students’ pronouns is illegal under the First Amendment, and that the Education Department violated the Administrative Procedure Act and the Tenth Amendment, that delegate certain powers to the states.
The attorneys general had argued that as the case is being considered, they faced a “credible threat” of sanctions from the federal government that would cause them significant hardship if they didn’t comply immediately with the directives they were challenging.
U.S. District Judge Charles Atchley agreed that there was a credible threat and issued a temporary injunction against the imposition of the Biden directives, writing, “As it currently stands, plaintiffs must choose between the threat of legal consequences — enforcement action, civil penalties, and the withholding of federal funding — or altering their state laws to ensure compliance with the guidance and avoid such adverse action."
This is simple folks. Liberals cannot get their horrible legislation passed in states (other than a handful of deep blue states). They cannot get it past at the Federal level. They can no longer run to court. So they resort to Presidential "bullying" so to speak. The Biden administration threatens to cut of Federal aid unless the State alter their extremely popular laws and replace them with the hated liberal woke crap that the hard core crazy liberal base wants... but everyone else hates.
Why? Because the worst President of our lifetime cannot figure out how to suck less than he currently does. He apparently believes that he will suck less if he caters to the far left of his base and attacks the solid middle of the road group of Americans who live in the real world. Not sure how he expects to gain any approval by constanting appeasing the 30% or so who approve of him, while pissing off those who do not or otherwise "might" be on the fence. Those 30% would approve of Hitler if he had a D behind his name.
Good thing that Biden is as stupid at politics as he is with governing. This is why there is almost no chance that will ever garner a second term. Not sure we have ever seen a President who has been written off this early, even by his own Party. Certainly no President has universally failed as much as Biden. He certainly deserves to be written off.

A judge in Tennessee has temporarily barred two federal agencies from enforcing directives issued by President Joe Biden's administration that extended protections for LGBTQ people in schools and workplaces.
U.S. District Judge Charles Atchley Jr. in an order on Friday ruled for the 20 state attorneys general who sued last August claiming the Biden administration directives infringe on states' right to enact laws that, for example, prevent students from participating in sports based on their gender identity or requiring schools and businesses to provide bathrooms and showers to accommodate transgender people.
Atchley, appointed by President Donald Trump in 2020, agreed with the attorneys generals’ argument and issued a temporary injunction that prevents the agencies from applying that guidance on LGBTQ discrimination until the matter can be resolved by courts.
Your Redstate didn't mention temporary because they are not credible to rating people.

Talking about extremist!
McCarthy went full Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi propaganda minister who said that if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth.
“Why did he go after parents, and call them terrorists, simply because they wanted to go to a school board meeting?” McCarthy demanded in April on Sean Hannity’s show.
Garland never called parents who attend school board meetings “terrorists.”
McCarthy’s accusations, as befits a man who once owned a sandwich shop, are just so much baloney.
Actually I said it was not a good thing.
The deleted text messages have been found.
WASHINGTON - Members of the House's Jan. 6 committee said Sunday that they expect the Secret Service to meet the Tuesday deadline for providing to the panel the reportedly deleted text messages that agents sent around the Capitol riot.
"They've said we'll meet this deadline, and we'll see what we get here," Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., said on CBS News' "Face the Nation."
If they confirm that the President actually physically assaulted them, even some Republicans will understand how dangerous he is.

The real-world consequences of green extremism
The results of shortsighted, self-defeating enviro-extremism are bad enough in rich nations. But they are even worse in the undeveloped world. In Sri Lanka, which banned chemical fertilizers in a fit of adherence to global green pressure, crops collapsed and food inflation spiked to 80% in June. The result has been a public revolt, including the overthrow of the president and an occupation of his palace by disgruntled citizens.
The specter of starvation is now being reported from Africa, and the latest analysis from the U.N. World Food Program suggests that 670 million people, 8% of the world’s population, will face hunger by the end of the decade.
The World Health Organization calculates that 439,000 Africans die every year from indoor air pollution because they are forced — for cooking, lighting, and heating — to burn charcoal and cattle dung, which one researcher compared to smoking 400 cigarettes per hour in the home. The reason Africans still use these primitive methods to generate energy is that green ideologues in rich nations won’t allow them to get financing to build coal-fired power stations.
Extreme environmentalism is an ideology that cares little for human life, even regards it as a blight on the Earth that should be reduced. Its instinctive sympathies are against our species. It wants less economic growth, less entrepreneurial spirit, less development, less energy, less safety, less food, less comfort.
Who suffers? Those in poor nations, of course, and we in the rich nations that impose our obsessions on ourselves and on others wherever we can.
But we can’t impose them everywhere. So, who doesn’t suffer? Our enemies, China in particular, that watch our self-harming foolishness with delight and perhaps a little astonishment. Beijing, which in recent years built more coal-fired power stations than the rest of the world combined, sits back and watches as the self-doubting, self-hating West cedes its prosperity and global leadership.
We’re now able, with our dazzling technology, to look billions of light years from the surface of our planet all the way to the rim of outer space and to peer back as far as the beginning of the universe. But here on Earth, we blind ourselves with ideology and cannot see what’s staring us in the face.

The most exhaustive report yet on the May 24 mass shooting inside a Uvalde, Tex., elementary school spread blame across every law enforcement agency responding to the attack, faulting local police for mistakes and more experienced agencies for failing to take charge.
Nearly 400 local, state and federal law enforcement officers were at the scene that day, including 91 state troopers — none of whom took the initiative to lead the response, the Texas House investigative report said. The school district police chief, Pedro “Pete” Arredondo, wrote its active shooter response plan and assigned himself as incident commander, but did not follow the protocol he had set up, the report said.
The report said it was not clear whether lives could have been saved with a swifter response, but left open the possibility.

A committee of Texas state lawmakers investigating the police response to the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde released a 77-page report detailing "systemic failures" and "poor decision making" from those involved, according to a report.
The Texas Tribune reported that it has reviewed the committee's report that detailed how the gunman’s family was unable to recognize warning signs, how the school district strayed from its safety plan and how police disregarded their own active-shooter training.
A force of 376 law enforcement officers responded to the shooting, according to the report. However, the report found that there was no clear leadership once they amassed at the scene, and that responders lacked basic communications and necessary urgency to take down the gunman.
The investigation criticized the inaction of state and federal law enforcement, who made up the majority of responding officers. The report states that there were 91 state police offers, 149 from U.S. Border Patrol, 25 Uvalde city police officers, 16 sheriff’s deputies and 5 officers from the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police.

Mass Shootings Involving Assault Weapons Kill More People Than Other Weapons
Washington—As the House Judiciary Committee prepares to hold a hearing on federal Assault Weapons Ban legislation on September 25, Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement on misinformation spread by the National Rifle Association:
“The NRA likes to say guns don’t kill people, people kill people. But guns kill more people than other weapons, and military-style assault weapons are the deadliest and the choice of individuals who want to shoot a large number of people,” Feinstein said.
“The simple fact is that if these high-powered, military-style weapons weren’t so easily available, we’d have fewer massacres, and shootings would be less deadly. No one law will solve this problem, but we have to start taking action now to dry up the supply of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”

Which types of firearms are most commonly used in gun murders in the U.S.?
In 2020, handguns were involved in 59% of the 13,620 U.S. gun murders and non-negligent manslaughters for which data is available, according to the FBI. Rifles – the category that includes guns sometimes referred to as “assault weapons” – were involved in 3% of firearm murders. Shotguns were involved in 1%. The remainder of gun homicides and non-negligent manslaughters (36%) involved other kinds of firearms or those classified as “type not stated.”

Next will be interracial marriage
Sen. 0Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Saturday said he believes the U.S. Supreme Court “was overreaching” and “clearly wrong” when it legalized same-sex marriage across the country in the 2015 landmark Obergefell v. Hodges decision.
Cruz was 0speaking on his podcast about the differences between that case and the Supreme Court’s 0recent decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, which had previously protected abortion rights nationwide. He criticized the court for preventing individual states from deciding for themselves whether same-sex marriage should be allowed.

I speculate they want homosexuality to be socially sanctioned and considered equal to heterosexuality. No matter which way you look at it, they are not equal and not the same. While both activities tend to produce anxiety and mental health issues in people, only one of them perpetuates the human species. That also happens to be the only one that can, when exercised per traditional moral ideals shared by all civilized societies, improve mental health, strengthen families, and strengthen societies. There is a reason all civilized societies have the ideal of abstinence before heterosexual marriage and fidelity after. Without that ideal society goes to chaos, and we're seeing it happen before our very eyes.

Redstate insanity
The push to blame everything on racism hit overdrive in 2020, when George Floyd, an addict loaded on fatal doses of illegal drugs, died. Medical schools went on strike. Students left their classrooms and headed to “church” — outdoors, wearing masks and kneeling with “Black Lives Matter” signs. It’s quickly becoming a traditional denomination for the left: Photos of medical students kneeling and heads bowed for protesting too much whiteness in white coats.
Now, there is a concerted effort to take up the time of medical students with religious indoctrination – a catechism of systemic racism, anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusion.
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) has released its official Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Competencies for medical students to commit to memory and practice. No longer is it good enough to be a good doctor; now, before a student, then resident medical doctor, can ply their trade, they must be full, card-carrying members of a cult.
James should just shut the hell up already.
Or just leave. We've all had enough of his shit.

Luria said this week’s hearing would feature more videotaped testimony from former White House counsel Pat Cipollone, whom Hutchinson said had asked Mark Meadows, then-chief of staff, for help in talking to Trump about calling off rioters during the attack. She also said the panel would present testimony from witnesses who have not been heard from in previous hearings.
“Cipollone’s testimony is very valuable ... but there’s actually more,” Luria said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “There’s other witnesses we’ve spoken to who have yet to appear in our previous hearings, who will add a lot of value and information to the events of that critical time in January.”
All three members signaled that their investigation isn't nearing the finish line, telling the public that they're still gathering new evidence and learning more about the attack. And while Thursday’s hearing is the last in this “tranche” of eight hearings, Lofgren said the investigation could go past the elections this fall, and there might be another round of public hearings later this year.
"This is going to open people's eyes in a big way," Kinzinger said. "If I was a president sworn to defend the Constitution — that includes the legislative branch — watching this on television, I know I would have been going ballistic to try to save the Capitol. He did quite the opposite."
Trump, who denies any wrongdoing, has attacked the Jan. 6 panel and characterized its hearings as a political "witch hunt.

Last month, 10 of 13 Arizona swing voters in panels said the same.

GREENWOOD, Ind. (AP) — Four people, including a gunman, were killed Sunday evening at an Indiana mall after a man with a rifle opened fire in a food court and an armed civilian shot him, police said.
The man entered the Greenwood Park Mall with a rifle and several magazines of ammunition and began firing in the food court, Greenwood Police Department Chief Jim Ison said.
GREENWOOD, Ind. (AP) — Three people were fatally shot and two were injured Sunday evening at an Indiana mall after a man with a rifle opened fire in a food court and an armed civilian shot and killed him, police said.
The man entered the Greenwood Park Mall with a rifle and several magazines of ammunition and began firing in the food court, Greenwood Police Department Chief Jim Ison said.
A 22-year-old from nearby Bartholomew County who was legally carrying a firearm at the mall shot and killed the gunman, Ison said at a news conference.
Four of those hit by gunfire were females and one was a male, Ison said. He didn’t immediately know the specific gender or age of those who were killed.
He said a 12-year-old girl was among the two injured, both of whom are in stable condition.
Police confiscated a suspicious backpack that was in a bathroom near the food court, Ison said.
Officers went to the mall at about 6 p.m. for reports of the shooting.
“The real hero of the day is the citizen that was lawfully carrying a firearm in that food court and was able to stop the shooter almost as soon as he began,” Ison said.
The mass shooting was just the latest to unnerve Americans in 2022. Schools, churches, grocery stores and a July Fourth parade in Highland Park, Illinois, have all become killing grounds in recent months. Still, the reality of America’s staggering murder rate can often be seen more clearly in individual deaths that rarely make the news.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police and multiple other agencies are assisting in the investigation.
“We are sickened by yet another type of incident like this in our country,” Indianapolis Assistant Chief of Police Chris Bailey said.
There was no threat to the area Sunday night, authorities said.
Greenwood is a south suburb of Indianapolis with a population of about 60,000. Mayor Mark Myers asked for “prayers to the victims and our first responders.”
“This tragedy hits at the core of our community,” Myers said in a statement.
Authorities said they would provide more details Monday.
The shooter appeared to have been fatally shot by a "good Samaritan" who witnessed the attack and opened fire with a handgun with the intention of ending it, Ison said.
"It appears that he had a rifle with several magazines of ammunition, entered the food court, and began shooting," the chief said of the suspected gunman.
