If you are a Democrat arrested openly defying the law - they let you go so you can politicize it!

If your are a conservative grandmother who didn't even know you could not carry a sign at the Capital... they hold you and then give you jail time! (and yes... the same degree of laws exist for protesting too close to the Capitol, too close to the White House, or too close to the USSC).

The National Archives and Records Administration is investigating the “alleged unauthorized deletion” of a large cache of text messages sent by Secret Service officials in the days surrounding the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.

NARA said in a statement Tuesday it informed the Secret Service that under federal law, the agency had 30 days to submit a report about why the agency deleted the relevant text messages, which has roiled the Jan. 6 select committee’s investigation in recent days.

Secret Service on Tuesday was also due to respond to a subpoena from the select committee demanding access to the missing tranche of messages. The select panel’s subpoena was aimed at Secret Service Director James Murray, who’s retiring later this month. The agency said the deletion occurred as part of a broad phone upgrade process that began before any investigators had requested messages, and a spokesperson said Tuesday they would cooperate with the NARA request.

“The United States Secret Service respects and supports the important role of the National Archives and Records Administration in ensuring preservation of government records,” Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said in a tweet. “They will have our full cooperation in this review.”

Guglielmi later confirmed the agency still has the phones containing the now-erased messages in its custody.

“We have them and are conducting a forensic examination to determine if content can be recovered,” he said. “It’s likely that it cannot, but we are exhausting all options.”

The Department of Homeland Security inspector general, who is charged with overseeing the Secret Service, has criticized the agency’s handling of the matter and said some of the messages were deleted after he requested them in February 2021. The Homeland Security watchdog has also faulted the agency for having “significantly delayed” access to their records related to Jan. 6.

The revelation that NARA is demanding answers for the deletion comes amid intensifying scrutiny of the Secret Service’s actions on Jan. 6, as a mob of Donald Trump supporters amassed in Washington and broke into the Capitol, disrupting the transfer of presidential power.

A key witness to the Jan. 6 committee, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, has testified that Trump called for his Secret Service officials to remove magnetometers at an Ellipse rally to protest the election results so that armed supporters could approach the stage. Hutchinson also said Tony Ornato, a Secret Service official detailed to the White House to be Trump’s deputy chief of staff, described Trump lunging for the steering wheel of the presidential SUV when the head of his Secret Service detail, Robert Engel, told him it was too dangerous to go to the Capitol with his supporters.

The committee has also examined the actions of then-Vice President Mike Pence’s Secret Service detail, which ushered him to a secure loading dock beneath Capitol grounds while the Jan. 6 attack was underway. Pence aides have described efforts by his detail to get Pence to leave the Capitol in his motorcade, which Pence refused to do, contending that he wanted to remain in the Capitol until the counting of electoral votes was complete.

The Secret Service has also faced questions over a POLITICO report that then Vice President-elect Kamala Harris was inside the Democratic National Committee when a pipe bomb was discovered outside.

He may have turned the Secret Service into his allies

You didn't mention that 16 lawmakers were arrested in front of Supreme Court building

In the letter, the inspector general said certain Secret Service texts from 5 and 6 January 2021 were erased amid a “device replacement program” even after he requested the messages for his internal inquiry.

Long ago some people said, The Supreme Court says we must return escaped slaves to their owners, BUT WE WON'T DO IT, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARREST US!

House Passes Bill Protecting Marriage Equality
July 19, 2022 at 6:10 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 234 Comments

“The House passed a bill on Tuesday to protect marriage equality,a direct response to an opinion from Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas last month that called for reversing multiple decisions that enshrined LGBTQ rights,” The Hill reports.

“The legislation, titled the Respect for Marriage Act, passed in a 267-157 vote, with 47 Republicans joining all Democrats in supporting the measure. Seven Republicans did not vote.”

Washington Post: “It’s unclear if the legislation has enough support in the Senate for passage. And Democratic leaders didn’t commit to bringing it up for a vote, stating the legislative schedule ahead of the midterms may not allow for immediate consideration.”

Interesting...

Not a liberal here will defend the hypocrisy exposed in the post.

But they will ruin another thread cutting and pasting about the Jan 6th commission.

Thanks! Wonderful! You guys are nothing if not consistent.

I was trying to think of past Republicans similar to Marjorie Taylor Greene

But they just Palin comparison.

This kind of post is typically hypocrisy.

An armed mob attacked the Capital building and wanted to overturn the election and of course hang Mike Pence and Pelosi etc

And you mentioned a woman who was brainwashed.

Typically fascist rhetoric

Anyone who admires DeSantis from afar should come to Florida with eyes wide open. After winning by just 32,463 votes, he has governed with total contempt toward the 4 million people who didn’t vote for him.
He’s as authoritarian as Trump, just as disdainful of democracy, no less polarizing and openly hostile to scientific evidence that doesn’t conform to his narrow agenda.

" the editorial board followed up. "When Nazis picketed at Orlando, he was silent. Exploiting society’s vulnerability to cultural warfare, DeSantis has prohibited schools, colleges and even private businesses from dealing honestly with racism and its ugly history. His law labeled “don’t say gay” by critics openly caters to homophobia, chilling sex education in schools and putting students at risk of being outed to their parents.

No Roger...

I mention a woman who was "parading" at the capitol building. She was basically "trespassing" and did not really even know she was breaking the law. She was not accused of any sort of violence of any sort. Was not armed. Just there.

What "others" were doing is irrelevant under the constitution, Roger.

It is stupid fucking rhetoric to suggest that because she was there that she is part of an insurrection. Fucking stupid!

Oh... and she was held without bond.

On the flip side, these congress members knew what they were doing was breaking the law and they did it anyways. Knowing that they would be set free 10 minutes after being arrested.

but hey...

Believe what you want. That is what makes you a Nazi, not an American.

C.H. Truth said...

BTW....

A majority of Americans now want people who were arrested for "non-violent" actions at the Jan 6th protests to be pardoned.

And you are screaming for blood!

What a fucking nazi!

Donald Trump is up to his old tricks again.

Earlier this month — and more than a year-and-a-half after the former president lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden — Trump called Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and encouraged him to decertify Biden's win in the state, Vos said in a Tuesday interview.

The Wisconsin election official told WISN-TV 12 News in Milwaukee that Trump broached the topic after the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled absentee ballot drop boxes in the state illegal earlier this month.

"It's very consistent. He makes his case, which I respect," Vos told the news outlet. "He would like us to do something different in Wisconsin. I explained that it's not allowed under the Constitution."

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Following Vos' rejection, Trump took to Truth Social to air his grievances with the politician.

"Looks like Speaker Robin Vos, a long time professional RINO always looking to guard his flank, will be doing nothing about the amazing Wisconsin Supreme Court decision," the former president wrote, using a critical term that stands for "Republican in name only."

"The Democrats would like to sincerely thank Robin, and all of his fellow RINOs, for letting them get away with 'murder," he continued.

You keep supporting 💯 crazy 🤪 mfkr

Vos explained to WISN-TV that the July 10 Supreme Court decision regarding ballot drop boxes will only have an effect on the law moving forward and cannot be applied retroactively in previous elections.

Trump responded to the interview Tuesday evening, once again urging Vos to act.

"So what's Speaker Robin Vos doing on the Great Wisconsin Supreme Court Ruling declaring hundreds of thousands of Drop Box votes to be illegal?" he wrote. "This is not a time for him to hide, but a time to act!"
