Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said last month the central bank was likely to consider raising its benchmark federal-funds rate by either a half percentage point or 0.75 point, or 75 basis points, at the July meeting after it raised it that amount in June, the largest increase since 1994. The Fed hasn’t raised interest rates by a full percentage point since it began using the fed-funds rate as its primary tool for setting monetary policy in the early 1990s.
After Wednesday’s inflation report, investors in interest-rate futures markets and some analysts judged that the central bank would approve a one-percentage-point rate increase at its meeting in two weeks. The probability of a one-point increase rose to around 79% on Wednesday, up from around 12% before the report, according to CME Group.

Days before the 2020 presidential election Donald Trump was planning to declare victory on election night, even if there was no evidence he was winning, according to a leaked Steve Bannon conversation recorded before the vote.
In the audio, recorded three days before the election and published by Mother Jones on Wednesday, Bannon told a group of associates Trump already had a scheme in place for the 3 November vote.
“What Trump’s gonna do is just declare victory. Right? He’s gonna declare victory. But that doesn’t mean he’s a winner,” Bannon, laughing, told the group, according to the audio.
“He’s just gonna say he’s a winner.”
Even before the election night results he was planning a coup.

In the nearly 250 years we have been a country, not a single person has ever been convicted of trying to convince someone of election fraud. If it was a crime, I would think someone would have been charged, tried, and convicted.

Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said he’s willing to consider what would be the most aggressive interest rate hike in decades at the central bank’s meeting later this month.
Worries are mounting that the U.S. is headed for or already in a recession, but Waller said the strength of the jobs market has him “feeling fairly confident that the U.S. economy did not enter a recession in the first half of 2022 and that the economic expansion will continue.”
Even with the Fed tightening, he said he thinks the economy can achieve a “soft landing” that won’t include a recession. U.S. GDP contracted 1.6% in the first quarter, and the Atlanta Fed’s GDPNow tracker is indicating a 1.2% decline in Q2, meeting the rule-of-thumb definition of a recession.
Worries are mounting that the U.S. is headed for or already in a recession, but Waller said the strength of the jobs market has him “feeling fairly confident that the U.S. economy did not enter a recession in the first half of 2022 and that the economic expansion will continue.”
The economy literally decreased in the first quarter... it did not "expand". It is currently projected to shrink another 1.2 percent (negative 1.2 percent growth). So whether or not you believe it is or isn't a "recession" there is no "economic expansion" to continue.
It's really sad when the Biden Fed Reserve Governor cannot even be honest with the American people.
