The so call adults actually in charge scramble to confirm that nothing has changed and we are not going to war with China over Taiwan.
This is the second time that the White House has had to walk back the Biden assertion that we will use American troops to defend Taiwan if China invaded. I think the problem with that logic is that it assumes that any sort of China invasion would take long enough to give us time to put something together to defend them.
I suspect that unlike the Russian invasion of Ukraine, China invading the Island of Taiwan would be over almost before it started.
