But then argue that Trump waited too long to file legal request for a special master to oversee what they took from him? This after they rejected an non-legal request just a couple days after the 30 armed agent raid.
Some things that they took after searching places like Melania's underwear drawer and Barron's bedroom:
- Passports
- Medical records
- Clothing
- Tax returns
- Personal banking
They were not entitled to take medical records, tax returns, personal banking information or probably 90% of what they did take. They have yet to isolate those agents who saw any of the information that they were not supposed to from others working the case. They have yet to return anything other than his passports. This is not a "by the books" situation and they seem to be bending over backwards in an attempt to be as "uncareful" as they can. Almost mocking or flaunting normal procedures.

The Trump appointed judge has gotten herself in deep water for her superficial ruling on Trump's request for a "special master" to review documents seized at Mar-A-Lago. She's being lambasted from all sides, including William Barr and many other conservatives for advocating a position that they say is not defensible in terms of law.
And by the way, I'm still waiting for Ch to give us the actual quote of Barr saying that he doesn'think the DOJ should prosecute. I'm not saying Barr didn't say that, as Ch claims he did; I just can't find him saying that, so help me and all the rest of us out, Ch.

The quote came from Jonathan Turley after a panel he was on with Bill Barr. But you continuing to argue these sorts of issues are what makes you petty and missing the larger points of most of these things.

The only "POSSIBLE" reason is that people inherently understand that the FBI is combing through all of Trump's personal information hoping to find something else. The idea of someone coming in and preventing that from happening...

It would hurt the Biden DOJ and FBI because then there would be a real chain of custody with a complete detailed inventory and besides limiting the seized materials on a probably unconstitutionally broad warrant also would stop them from inserting documents that actually weren't there.

...I have enormous respect for Bill Barr and he raises some good arguments against executive privilege claims. However, Barr also expressed doubts about an actual prosecution and said "I hope that they don't do it."

I would be willing to bet the “document” in question is a letter from North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-Un to President Trump about the status of the DPRK military intent and weapons. You might remember Chairman Kim and President Trump developed a good relationship and exchanged letters related to matters of national security between North Korea and the United States.

I don't dispute that Turley claims that Barr said that, nor do I dispute that Barr may have said it (but strangely doesn't seem to be emphasizing it).
Nor do I dispute Barr's strong statement that Donald Trump belongs in the dustbin of American history and his claim that he won the last election is totally unfounded.
