The final televised hearing promised that there would be new surprises. Apparently they ran out of information because the headlines seem more interested in the idea that they voted to subpoena Trump to testify than reporting any sort of actual surprise information. Literally "nothing" that is being reported has not been reported about 100 times prior.
- Someone "around" Trump believed he knew he lost? Heard it!
- Trump was going to declare victory no matter what? Heard it!
- Secret Service and others were concerned? Heard it!
Apparently when you have nothing else.... you make a wave with a lame concept of calling in the ex-President to testify, even though you realize that he will probably never actually testify. To be clear, Trump will fight the subpoena. The legal battle over this will take months...
If that batttle even matters!
Because short of the Democrats miraculously hanging on the House, the commission will be dismantled come January, the subpoena will become moot, and there will be no testimony by Trump. Pelosi knows it. Cheney knows it (and would not be part of this either way as she is already a dead congressperson walking). Everyone knows it. If they want to actually come up with a "Final Report" it will need to be done during the lame duck session. A point where it will matter the very least to everyone!
