Can Trump win a defamation lawsuit against a cable media outlet?

Let's be clear here folks. The bar for a public figure such as Trump is that a network like CNN would have to knowingly push false information for the reasons of defaming the former President. He would need to prove that they "know" that he is not actually Hitler or orchestrated a violent overthrow of the Government. He would then have to prove that not only did they "know" he was not a Russian spy or part of a criminal crime family... but that they made these claims out of malice to attack his character, his reputation, or even undermine his chances in the 2020 election.
Okay.. well maybe they did all of that. Still doesn't mean that he will win a lawsuit.
I mean imagine the consequences if our media actually had to tell the truth and actually face consequences for lying about someone? That would be an injustice to the American way of life!
