Clinton drama never ends...

Wikileaks has Hillary Clinton Campaign material

Yes, liberals...  we all know this is part of the vast right wing conspiracy to bring her down. But you have to admit that it's a bit of a game changer when all of the media bias in the world can be pretty much wiped out by someone simply leaking the documented actions of the DNC and Hillary Clinton without any spin or commentary.

Call the "truth" the great equalizer in all of this.

I was speaking with a friend of mine regarding the CNN coverage of the two conventions. How there was actual physical anger from those who disagreed with the Trump messages vs how much these same people tried to paint the Hillary speech as something more than it was (some of them barely masking their disappointment).

There once was a time when CNN tried to portrait themselves as the neutral cable news network between FOX and MSNBC. But as of now, they actually may be more liberally slanted than the MSNBC network. After years of falling behind in the ratings, they realized that there isn't any interest in just releasing the news. You need someone to step up and tell you what is good or bad and why the Republicans are pretty much always to blame.

In previous elections and previous times, the media bias this year (including the major networks actually providing considerably more coverage of the DNC than the RNC) would have alone probably secured a large (maybe even double digit) lead for Hillary Clinton coming into August. But with alternate coverage, social media, and the increasingly popular "Wikileaks" stepping in to ruin these well laid plans... it appears like all those millions of dollars, all the pomp and circumstances, and all that bias... will fall well short of what many on the left probably feel their efforts deserve.

Maybe Faux can crank up more support for trump by covering him more than they are already. Or maybe O'reilly can support slavery more than he already has. I guess the fact that they are all covering trump basically for free enable for trump to carry on without the Koch bros. support. Pretty cool plan he has sprung if you ask me.

You obsess over one cable news network while you have four broadcast networks, three cable news networks and five major daily papers acting as propaganda organs for Hillary Clinton.

You sure are funny Opie.

C.H. Truth said...

The difference is that Opie understands that you only need "one" alternate conservative news channel... only "one" choice and it provides enough balance to offset much of the other media bias.

It's why the left tries so hard to discredit FOX News. They only way they can really sell their spin is to have 100% of the coverage.

And your obsession with trump and many not covering him the way you want is nothing but sour grapes, since all the coverage he gets from the MSM is the publicity trump craves and demands. LOL

Another intentionally inane comment that exists only in his made up mind. I guess the WSJ, The blaze, Washington Times, William Cystal, Goerge Will The EIB network are all just chopped liver in CH world. Oh well, just like Donald, keep making crap up. LOL

You forgot The Blaze newsmax, oneamericanews.

They are media outlets, are they not????? And can be interpreted as news channels in the biblical sense. But, it seems to me, your mind is already made up and nothing said will ever change your mind, just like GW is a fake because the models are wrong. Nice spin though and thanx for playing, CH.

First he steals music without permission, now he lies about the NFL sending him a letter, and he calls hillary crooked. Idiot supporters.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Both the NFL and the Commission on Presidential Debates are rejecting Republican Donald Trump's assertions about the fall debates, which the billionaire businessman says have been rigged by his opponents to draw a smaller audience by scheduling two of them at the same time as a football game.

Trump began by making an accusation in a tweet posted Friday night: "As usual, Hillary & the Dems are trying to rig the debates so 2 are up against major NFL games. Same as last time w/ Bernie. Unacceptable!"

Trump expanded his conspiracy theory when asked about the debates during an interview for Sunday's "This Week" on ABC: "Well, I'll tell you what I don't like. It's against two NFL games. I got a letter from the NFL saying, 'This is ridiculous. Why are the debates against' — 'cause the NFL doesn't wanna go against the debates. 'Cause the debates are gonna be pretty massive, from what I understand, OK?"

CH is getting ready to say something clever that the bump is biased because the MSM is covering it in a positive light. LOL

Hillary Clinton received a big bump following the Democratic National Convention, flipping the bump that Republican nominee Donald Trump earned following his convention, a poll released Sunday showed.

The Morning Consult poll found Clinton with a 43% to 40% advantage over Trump, a 7-point flip from the outlet's prior poll, which showed Trump with a 44% to 40% advantage following the completion of the Republican National Convention.

Trump received a 6-point bump in the Morning Consult poll following the RNC.

Clinton made big gains with both independent voters and with men, the poll showed. The Democratic nominee now leads Trump by 1 point among men, whereas Trump held an 8-point lead with men in last week's poll. The former secretary of state also picked up 4 points among independent voters.

The DNC also provided Clinton with a boost in her favorability, which made a 6-point jump from 37% to 43%. Trump's favorability fell from 42% to 39%.

Morning Consult polled 1,931 voters immediately after the DNC wrapped up early Friday morning through Saturday. The margin of error was 2 points.

The end is near for the GOP, especially with a fraud like trump appealing to your worst fears.

Commonsense said...

Well I don't know what clever is but CH has been consistent when he said he didn't put much store in bumps be it for Trump or Clinton.

Something you won't see here.

WASHINGTON—House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) today issued the following statement:

“America's greatness is built on the principles of liberty and preserved by the men and women who wear the uniform to defend it. As I have said on numerous occasions, a religious test for entering our country is not reflective of these fundamental values. I reject it. Many Muslim Americans have served valiantly in our military, and made the ultimate sacrifice. Captain Khan was one such brave example. His sacrifice—and that of Khizr and Ghazala Khan—should always be honored. Period.”

Trump once again shows that he knows nothing about foreign affairs.

Transcript via ABC’s This Week:
STEPHANOPOULOS: They took away the part of the platform calling for the provision of lethal weapons to Ukraine to defend themselves.

Why is that a good idea?

TRUMP: Well, look, you know, I have my own ideas. He’s not going into Ukraine, OK?

Just so you understand. He’s not going to go into Ukraine, all right?

You can mark it down and you can put it down, you can take it anywhere you want.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, he’s already there, isn’t he?

TRUMP: OK, well, he’s there in a certain way, but I’m not there yet. You have Obama there. And frankly, that whole part of the world is a mess under Obama, with all the strength that you’re talking about and all of the power of NATO and all of this, in the meantime, he’s going where — he takes — takes Crimea, he’s sort of — I mean…

STEPHANOPOULOS: But you said you might recognize that.

-----

Russia took Crimea which is legally a part of Ukraine in 2014, so Putin has been in Ukraine for two years. The Republican nominee for president knows nothing about world affairs. He is completely uninformed about what is going on the world.

Trump obviously isn’t studying his briefing books. When asked a question about a global conflict that he knows nothing about Trump resorted to his usual empty bluster, and it completely backfired.

He says that he alone can fix everything. But that's ok here.

In an opinion piece that our esteemed host posted, from the Wall Street Journal that said Trump is probably going to win. He used to work for the Clintons.
But at the end, he qualified it with this.

Trump is no sure thing, but he begins the general-election campaign as a slight favorite. He’s still volatile, always one sentence away from a controversy. His joke this week that Russian hackers should help find Mrs. Clinton’s lost emails made more than a few people uneasy. His negatives are cripplingly high, at 70%, and he is on track to be outspent more than 3 to 1. He has yet to build an effective campaign organization and begins at a considerable disadvantage in the Electoral College. At this point, he’ll probably have to depend on his rhetorical skills to win the debates, and ultimately the election.

It's not just that comment. His joke hurt him. As did the attack on a Gold Star family, and his ignorance on Ukraine. He also says he will assemble an effective organization. At least at this time, he's screwing up several times a day.

wphamilton said...

The Gold Star attack may well boomerang to Trump's advantage. The one thing that's overlooked in all the outrage is the blatant politicizing of Khan's death, by the DNC. It's a little disgusting, and Khan's original attack on Trump didn't make much sense in the first place, his followup more than a little self serving and self-righteous. These may be hard to admit, when we're bending over backwards to be respectful of the Khan's family's loss but people will be thinking it. And more, as Mr Khan becomes more extreme in his criticism.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

wp, check this out before you think the Gold Star families chin comment. A LONG list of prominent Republicans have expressed disgust with his comment.

Then there is this.

By Dan Whitcomb

(Reuters) – A federal judge has struck down a string of Wisconsin voting restrictions passed by the Republican-led legislature and ordered the state to revamp its voter identification rules, finding that they disenfranchised minority voters.

U.S. District Judge James Peterson, ruling in a legal challenge to the laws by two liberal groups, said he could not overturn the entire voter ID law because a federal appeals court had already found such restrictions to be constitutional.

But Peterson, in his 119-page ruling, said the requirements that Wisconsin voters show either a photo identification or go through a special petition process had unfairly burdened minorities and needed to be reformed or replaced before the November presidential election.

“To put it bluntly, Wisconsin’s strict version of voter ID law is a cure worse than the disease,” the judge wrote.

Peterson left the voting rules intact for the Aug 9. primary elections for federal, state and local offices, saying to change them less than two weeks in advance would be disruptive.

But his ruling was expected to impact the November presidential election in Wisconsin, which could prove a crucial battleground state for Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump.

Peterson also struck down as unconstitutional limits on in-person absentee voting, residency requirements and a ban on using expired student identification.

Trump was disgusting as usual Roger, but he has a point that he's not the one who sent Khan into combat, and Khan was off the mark about the constitution. He twisted his family's loss into a political attack, and a personal attack. He should have left it there, but he's become more extreme in his subsequent attacks. Stretch that a little more and it can snap back.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

He's had his fifteen minutes of fame. But Trump's comments are going to resonate for a lot longer. From Ryan, McConnell, Jeb and George Bush, and others have spoken out, giving the Clinton campaign ammunition that they won't waste.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

This is interesting. His running mate made, ambiguous comments.

Trump’s vice-presidential running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, whose son is in the Marines, said Capt. Humayun Khan died defending his country in the war on terror. He blamed Clinton and President Obama — who was an Illinois state senator when Khan died — for allowing the Middle East to be “overrun” by the Islamic State. Pence said proposals such as Trump’s plan to bar immigrants from certain countries will help reduce military deaths.

“Donald Trump and I believe that Captain Humayun Khan is an American hero and his family, like all Gold Star families, should be cherished by every American,” Pence said.

Trump has not going to retreat.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

More from the Washington Post

Mike Coffman, a veteran and Republican congressman from Colorado who has not endorsed his party’s nominee, said in a statement: “Having served in Iraq, I’m deeply offended when Donald Trump fails to honor the sacrifices of all of our brave soldiers who were lost in that war.”

A campaign spokeswoman for Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), who is locked in a tight re-election battle and has only tepidly supported Trump, said Portman does not agree with the Republican nominee and called Khan a hero.

Two more, and more Republicans.

This is a piece written by a Vietnamese immigrant, and the sister of a good friend of mine. Very eloquent.

I am a first-generation immigrant. My family (3 generations-worth) came to the US in 1984 as political refugees with very little money but a lot of hope, dreams and aspirations to pursue unoppressed lives.

In 1984, I did not speak one word of English. My parents divorced unexpectedly and my dad, who was in the process of applying for medical residency (because to practice medicine in the US, you have to train in the US irrespective of your foreign experience or education) had no choice but to apply for welfare in order to support his 3 children.

Today, 32 years later, with the help of my family, a lot of love and personal and filial sacrifices, I have 4 degrees -- 2 of them advanced degrees; one is a doctorate. I was supposed to follow in my dad's footsteps and become a physician but I abandoned that dream because I was so inspired by the political process and instead, chose law as my vocation.

I am a Republican but I am an American first. But even before that, I am a human being who supports and respects other human beings regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, political or social affiliation or any other manner in which bigotry marginalizes human beings.

I see my party blindly supporting a political figure that is dangerously reminiscent of Hitler, one who uses emotions to galvanize the masses rather than appealing to logic and reason. This scares me because it threatens to disrupt the political process and order that I admire; the same order from where the American Dream is derived -- where I, and many others who came from nothing have the ability to improve our lives and to pursue our respective versions of happiness.

I implore those of you who CAN vote to go out there and use your voice. But first, seek to make an INFORMED decision. Ask difficult questions of your candidate. If you are a reputed billionaire, is it because you're a good businessman, the purported platform of your candidacy, or is it because you're a good magician -- putting up smoke and mirrors to build a reputation through your brand despite repeated appearances in bankruptcy court. The highest public servant in the country should have to answer difficult questions because this office represents every citizen in our country; words like, "bully, racist, radical, reactionary" should not be ascribed to our chosen leader.

I am supporting Hillary because of the two candidates available, she is the better option. Because at least she has a concrete action plan to unify our segregated and fractional country, a plan that doesn't undermine the order and systems that enable us to pursue happiness and coalesce in a global community.

I have never used my FB as a political platform but I feel compelled to do so now because I would like to incite you to get involved, to use your voice and seek out to make an informed decision, if not for yourselves or your children, for the preservation of our country, for the betterment of our humanity.
