Commander in chief forum

So to give you an indication of how it went... The online poll available from MSNBC shows :

If you cannot find more than  49% of your MSNBC/NBC readership to say Clinton won... then she apparently didn't do so well.

I only saw the highlights of Clinton. She still tries to explain away her Email controversy by lying about how the classification system works (or perhaps she really doesn't remember the briefings and actually believes that emails have to be "stamped" to be considered classified). Lecturing a bunch of military personal who obviously knew better... well, it wasn't a good moment. She appeared hard and unfriendly. She snapped at Matt Lauer. The standing (obviously a planned response to questions about her health - Trump is in her head) seemed unnatural and uncomfortable. I didn't hear anyone really say she did anything special.

Trump seemed knowledgeable and in control (for Trump). Of course, most everything he says will be questioned... and he provided ample opportunities for his critics to question. Personally I don't take issues with his idea that we can work with Putin (and I am glad he didn't back away from that). I sort of understood what he meant about the Generals. Contrary to some of the pundit's concepts about the military, Obama has replaced high ranking generals who have questioned his policies, and Trump "could" in theory rely on completely different military people without firing anyone.

Overall, Clinton didn't shine, and I would argue that Trump didn't harm himself. If you were looking for Clinton to look Presidential and Trump to come across as uninformed, it didn't happen. You may not agree with Trump's solutions if you are a Democrat, but how is that any different from any other Republican. If he can do nothing more than come across like any other Republican... he could run away with this thing.

She was painful to watch, and I held my breath when he spoke.

Hard to believe she continued to lie about her clearly marked classified emails.

I guarantee you, she fooled NO military people.

Probably only ONE of the reasons why the majority of current military and retired support Trump.

Hideous woman.

I watched the whole thing. Clinton was prepared and was in charge. He answered the questions directly and obviously well prepared.

Trump didn't answer the questions, was never specific. He used the tough questions to attack Obama and Clinton.

His worship of Putin was evident. He also said that the current military leaders were incompetent.

He lied about his opposition to the war in Iraq.

He was asked what he would do on ISIS. He dodged it and attacked Obama and our military leaders.

Bottom line on Trump, he's obviously not informed on anything.

The dumbest thing was we should have the oil.

He doesn't know shit about foreign affairs. He either attacking Clinton and Obama when asked for specifics. Matt Lauer didn't not follow up and let him blather his talking points.

Clinton said we would not put combat units into Syria and Iraq.

She exhibited a deep understanding of foreign affairs.

My issue with her was again the email.

But beyond that, she answered the questions directly.

You really need to watch the whole thing, not just right wing websites with clips taken out out of context.
