It's only a flesh wound...

It's time to start having a serious conversation about whether or not Hillary Clinton can be trusted to be President and whether or not Democrats may not want to look into replacing her on the ballot. (link  link) While the health "incident" is a big issue for a lot of people (as well it should be) the way it's been handled has been the bigger one. The truth is that almost nobody (other than her most loyal brainwashed supporters) believes that the doctor is telling the truth. That's truly frightening. It's one thing to fudge your statements about whether you want to raise taxes, or if you did or did not support the Iraqi war... it's quite another when you cannot be trusted to tell the truth about your health, and ultimately your physical ability to perform the duties of the Presidency.

Hillary uses the Black Knight line of logical argument...

What we are being asked to believe is that both her excessive coughing (which has been going on for months) and the most recent episode where she seemed to pretty much lose control of her body can be explained away by the fact she has pneumonia. As plausible as that first sounds when you hear it repeated by the lackeys from CNN or MSNBC, it simply doesn't hold up when given any thought what-so-ever. Every doctor that has weighed in on this situation has found glaring holes to the explanation.

Most alarming is that this is not the first time we have seen pictures and video of Secretary Clinton falling, being helped up stairs, or otherwise looking like she has lost control of her body. Of course, because those specific incidents did not happen during a 9/11 ceremony in front of the Nation, they were not reported or taken seriously. So even if this latest episode could be explained away by pneumonia (which is dubious at best) - how does the fact she was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday explain why these episodes have continued to happen over the past couple of years (or arguably going back to her brain injury in 2012). I would tend to beleive that these old videos and pictures will be given a new look by many Americans.

BTW... if Hillary really does have pneumonia (which would most likely be viral) then she would also be contagious (at least at some times). What would she be doing on a plane, enclosed with staff and press, what would she be doing at a crowded 9/11 memorial, and why would she be hugging a young girl? Would she really be so selfish as to risk the health of everyone around her in order to maintain the secrecy of her illness?

What am I saying? I guess if she is willing to risk national security and the lives of Americans to maintain her personal secrecy, then a few people catching pneumonia would be no big deal.

People reports this morning that pneumonia has been circulating among the campaign's staff for several weeks now, apparently originating from her Brooklyn campaign offices.

If true (repeat, *if* true) then the long term health concerns are reduced. OTOH, I would question the wisdom of having a person with newly diagnosed pneumonia stand outside in 80+ degree weather for several hours.

Indy - I simply don't believe much of anything that would be "circulating" among anyone, as it pertains to Hillary.

Again, the fact that she has pneumonia today, would not explain the falling on the plane, the falling behind the podium, the falling on the front steps, and those are just what has been caught on video. Lord knows how often this stuff has been happening when there is nobody around to capture it on video.

Did you notice how quickly the personal surrounding Hillary attempted to shield people from what was happening? Had this been the first occurrence of something like that, one would believe that they would be more concerned about her safety and making sure she was alright... and less concerned with blocking people from witnessing the event. But their "go to move" in this case was to make almost a human wall and block anyone from seeing it. Wasn't a random event. This was a coordinated reaction.

In what world does a person with pneumonia freeze up, seize up, knees buckle, then collapse and NOT seek emergency medical help?

It really doesn't matter if it was 80 degrees with high humidity....

IF those things *really* happened, they wouldn't have taken her to Chelsea's home.

Plus, she sure snapped out of it at lightning speed........all bouncy and giddy.

At 68, even in excellent health you don't snap out of anything at lightning speed.

Running for President is brutal. She's 69. I know people at that age, have trouble with stairs and other similar physical activities. I'm 65. I have arthritis in both knees. I'm getting cortisone injections for the first time today. Of course, I spent almost 30 years, in construction. And after that, I did mostly desk work for 15 years.

I'm in excellent condition, but stairs are a pain. I can go up, slowly. Downward, it sucks. So the physical issues aren't really important. But she's on a blood thinning medicine. That does indicate a medical issues. But not necessarily life threatening conditions.

Being President would be "more brutal". If she cannot stand up to "running for President" then how can she be expected to "run the country"?

Or as someone asked: If she cannot handle 90 minutes at a 9/11 ceremony, how can she handle another 9/11?

The main difference here Roger, and one you seem to not want to acknowledge, is that only one of the candidates is fainting, falling down, having to be help up, not able to get past coughing fits, and generally looking to be in poor health.

There is no hypocrisy in demanding an explanation from the candidate who appears physically unable to perform general actions like walking, climbing up and down stairs, or simply standing behind a podium too long.

Hell, Reagan was shot in the chest and required less help.

Well, we've gone from allergies to overheated to pneumonia to a full-blown damn plague in 24 hours. Next up? Ebola? Zika?
