True Hillary Clinton - a hater

Oh, and by the way... "Make America great again is racist"

"To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it. These people are irredeemable and not America.""

Look we can overreact to every little thing Donald Trump says, and try to brand him a hater. But he has never just out and out suggested that tens of millions of Americans were  irredeemable and not American in the sort of hateful manner that Hillary Clinton did. He certainly might have called some people who are not actually American un-American, but as a matter of fact, he is correct.

This in inexcusable. This is an attack on the very people who Clinton would someday like to lead. How can you respect and lead the American public, if you are so full of your own bullshit that you actually believe that everyone who opposes you must be deplorable,  irredeemable, and un-American.

Who the fuck does she think she is? Does she really see herself and her actions as the higher standard of being American?

Yeh that was an exceedingly dumb outburst by Clinton. Maybe one of her "concussion" lapses, or a recurrence of her "short circuits", or her "experts" let her down, who knows. Regardless of where it came from it sounds a lot like Romney's "47%" voter write-off and it could have the same effect.

But you know what, to me it's just a minor detail because I know that Clinton will screw up just like she always does. The specific screw-up doesn't really matter - there will be more of them. Why else would her most vocal campaign slogan be "Just get over it?"

The DNC's political corruption has "gifted" America with a likely Trump presidency.

Since this was a planned event. The words were on a teleprompter, rather than off the cuff... it would seem like they knew what they were doing.

My thoughts are that they are doubling down on the message that Trump should not be taken seriously, and therefore if you are a Trump supporter there has to be something wrong with you.

A challenge to Independents to not join in with all of the deplorable racists and bigots. An effort to "shame" them into not voting for Trump.

But meanwhile, Trump has been down in Mexico, reaching out to the Black community, and basically trying to "expand" his appeal. A not very subtle difference with how Clinton is basically writing off 25% of the country.

I find it difficult to believe that at some level people will not at least "feel" the hypocrisy of labeling 25% of the country - and then pretending you are the candidate that's "not" a bigot.

Political bigotry is still bigotry.

Sure enough, she's sorry for using the word "half" and she pities the "other half" (how's that for calling her own "apology" fake?) because that half is "just desperate". It just gets worse doesn't it?

An incredibly stupid comment.

A fuck up of this magnitude takes planning, premeditation and execution by committee.

This was a team effort.

Whatta said...

I have heard that she has made similar comments at other elitist fund raising functions.

Flyover country people are dirt to the CoughinQueen and beautiful wealthy liberals.

And Obama has tweeted in the past, "We need a President who is fighting for all Americans, not one who right off nearly half the country".

Seeing as how he has endorsed the She Devil, how long will it be before we can expect him to come out and condemn her.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

she is someone who, with the assistance of the 0linsky DOJ, the FBI, and a lapdog media, can literally get away with doing and saying just about anything.

her statement simply confirms what many of us already know to be true - if elected she intends to carry on the 0linsky tradition of only serving and representing those who support her and support a liberal agenda.

what's surprising to me is that there's any outrage about this at all because there really shouldn't be. this is who she is and her comments should be expected and taken at face value.

the woman is a sociopath, a serial liar, and an all-around evil cunt.

during the debates she said that her enemies are the republicans.

not iran, not isis, not al-quaeda.

republicans.

Clinton has walked back her remark only in the sense that she has said that she was wrong to have charged "half" of Trump's supporters with being racists, sexists, homophobes, xenophobes, or Islamaphobes.

Demands that she apologize led her to well, sort of apologize.

It wasn't half, she said.

She did not disavow her claim that there are many "deplorable" Trump supporters, only that it could be less than half -- or more.

She made it clear that she intends to continue labeling bigotry and racism when she sees it at work in the campaign.

I agree with Ch that this was no gaffe. Her remarks were scripted, so she must have known what she was doing. Also now, when she slightly changed her position.

She knew her supporters will not be influenced by this.

She knew that racist Trump supporters will also not be influenced, except they'll just hate her more for calling them out.

She knew that some Trump supporters who aren't racists will be insulted, but others may be led to think about what kind of people they are in league with -- and jump ship.

She knew that those who are undecided may want to think twice about throwing their support to Trump and certain kinds of the people who support him.

Yep. She knew what she was doing, both in what she said, and now in her refusal to retract.

James - this was likely a design to change the subject. Clearly similar to how Trump behaves. Says something outrageous, draws attention, clarifies, and then hopes people start talking about it.

Problem is that for Clinton to resort to this, means her team believes that she has clearly lost the momentum and needs to change the dynamic. This sort of statement is clearly a gamble (more so for Clinton than it would be for Trump - isn't part of her appeal that she doesn't behave like Trump?) and it is not a gamble she would be taking if they were feeling confident and secure in her position.

Moreover, it's the sort of opposite of pivoting from campaign strategy to a Governing strategy, which is what you would see if they really felt she was confident in victory. This sort of statement is clearly going to harm her ability to lead the country if she were to win.

The difference between this and some of Trump's statements... is that this was a personal attack on tens of millions of Americans. Trump generally keeps it either quite personal, or specific to people who are "not" actually Americans (refugees, people trying to cross the border, etc).

Madam president works for me. The only thing she did wrong was say Half. Just look at the vapid followers here, rat with his racist comments, menstral boy's hate of gays, Loretta's hate of everyone. Seems to me that is about half the posters here. LOL

"The only thing she did wrong was say Half." - how dumb do we have to be to not get this? In the same breath she says "and the other half" are just desperate. The other half. She gives lie to her her own excuse, emphasizing that she really did mean "half" even as she says she shouldn't have said it.

What's left over after you account for half - the "other half" as she said, who are desperate for change but still ignorant according to Hillary? To be perfectly clear, what's left is HALF. She shouldn't have said the word half, but she says with a wink that it's still exactly what she meant and she stands by it.
