A Buzz about fake hate crimes...

There have been several "post election" hate crime stories that have been in the news for being "debunked" as actual stories

  • Black Baptist Church was burned down and the words "Vote Trump" were spray painted on the side of the building. A black member of the church was arrested this week for committing the crime.
  • Muslim kicked off plane for "speaking a different language" turns out to be U-Tube hoaxter who specializes is pulling elaborate pranks.  His U-tube channel provide several videos showing things you don't do on a plane.
  • Muslim women who reported white males forced her to remove her Jihab while yelling "Donald Trump" admits it was a hoax used as an excuse for her being late for curfew.
  • Jasskirat Saini was arrested for committing anti-Semite and racist acts of vandalism including spray painting KKK and Nazi signs around a college campus in Garden City New York. The actions were largely blamed on white supremacists empowered by Trump, but Saini was actually a student of Middle Eastern decent.

This is one of those things that Hillary supported demanded would happen: people (mostly white males) would feel empowered by the Trump election to be racist assholes who will go around insulting minorities, hassling gays, and grabbing women. It would appear that of all the so-called reports, that almost none of them have any proof, and those where some evidence exists have all pointed to them being hoaxes.

Just as most of the stuff the left is expecting to happen now that Trump has been officially elected President... it's mostly just overreaction and quite frankly a misreading of what Trump support is really about. Because the left cannot accept that there is any legitimacy to the Trump campaign, the Trump message, or the Trump win, it has to be racism and bigotry.

Short of any real proof that this is true, they resort to manufacturing the evidence. Fake but true, as Dan Rather once stated. Fake but true, at least in their minds.

Sad really...

Kind of ironic that the very media outlets that are demanding social media to stop "fake news" are themselves spreading "fake news".

But since it comes from a liberal source Politifact will rate it "half-true".

Meanwhile this is not a hate crime.

an out-of-control passenger on her [Ivanka Trump] flight began verbally berating her and "jeering" at her 3 kids.
Ivanka was on a JetBlue flight leaving JFK Thursday morning with her family when a passenger started screaming, "Your father is ruining the country." The guy went on, "Why is she on our flight. She should be flying private." The guy had his kid in his arms as he went on the tirade.

The New York Times applauds.

Hard to believe that JetBlue has the only flights from JFK to West Palm Beach at that time.

The White House opposed a Republican-led push earlier this year to create an executive-branch task force to battle Russia’s covert information operations, according to a document obtained by POLITICO.

Sen. Tom Cotton, a leading GOP defense hawk who has long urged President Barack Obama to take a harder line on Russia, sought to force the White House to create a panel with representatives from a number of government agencies to counter Russian efforts "to exert covert influence," including by exposing Russian "falsehoods, agents of influence, corruption, human rights abuses, terrorism, and assassinations.”

But the administration rejected the call, saying in a letter to Congress that hasn’t been released publicly that the panel would duplicate existing efforts to battle Russian influence operations — an argument Cotton rejects.

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/russia-cotton-white-house-232896

so it was the GOP who wanted to combat known russian influence on our electoral process, and 0linsky squashed it because he thought the hag had the election in the bag.

Twelve days before the presidential election, FBI Director James B. Comey dispatched a senior aide to deliver a startling message to the Justice Department. Comey wanted to send a letter to Congress alerting them that his agents had discovered more emails potentially relevant to the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.
....Federal attorneys scrambled into offices on the fourth and fifth floors of Justice Department headquarters, where they huddled to figure out how to stop what they viewed as a ticking time bomb. “It was DEFCON 1,” said an official familiar with the deliberations. “We were incredibly concerned this could have an impact on the election.”
....Weeks before the letter, Comey had advised against the Obama administration public statement admonishing Russia for the Democratic Party hacks, arguing it would make the administration appear partisan too close to the election. But to him, the Clinton email investigation was different. Battered by Republican lawmakers during a hearing that summer, Comey feared he would come under further attack if word leaked about the Clinton case picking up again.

Even the Wall Street Journal thinks Trump is fucking nuts. But our host keeps being a hack in pursuit of a job in the White House.

President-elect Trump’s choice for ambassador to Israel, the attorney David Friedman, has been received in some quarters with contempt and disbelief. Mr. Friedman’s presumed failings are said to be many. As a lawyer, he has no diplomatic or foreign policy experience. He is a right-wing “extremist,” supposedly because he supports expanding settlements and moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

At its core, criticism of Mr. Friedman reflects the erroneous notion that only professionally trained diplomats can do the job. That is simply false. Modern diplomacy—which I experienced as Canada’s ambassador to Israel—is an anachronistic system of entitlement and privilege aligned with the aristocratic sensibilities of the late 19th century. The “foreign service” model that prevails today was the institutional response to a surfeit of well-bred, indolent men needing something to do. So they were sent abroad to underwrite fancy parties and salons, in the name of the King, Queen or Republic.

Two world wars made a hash of the old order, but Western diplomats have held fast to their entitlements. They indulge a posh lifestyle that mostly disappeared from the private sector as governance standards were enhanced. It is difficult to explain layers of servants and personal drivers to shareholders, never mind taxpayers.

hb,

do you even have any understanding of what you posted??? The WSJ is liking this pick and you left off the end of this article -

"Today, Messrs. Trump and Friedman are excoriated for expressing serious intent to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Some argue this would ignite Muslim fury and global mayhem. But it raises the question: How, exactly, does locating the embassy in West Jerusalem—which is not disputed territory—in any way predetermine the outcome of any negotiations regarding East Jerusalem? It doesn’t. This is a fallacy propagated by rejectionists of Israel and accepted unquestioningly by the international diplomatic community.
The effect of political appointments to diplomatic posts is critical. It signals to foreign governments (as well as domestic interests) that the relationship is a priority for the elected leader. It also allows the officeholder to select an envoy that he or she deeply trusts.

Professional diplomats resent the affront that such appointments represent. They reject “outsiders” for leapfrogging the system, for their access to the top, for their perceived impunity, for their utter unsuitability to the exalted foreign service. Mr. Friedman may be many things. But the notion that only those who have passed the foreign-service examination are worthy of an ambassadorship is laughable.

Mr. Trump was elected by the American people on a platform of change. Those who bring change, by nature, shock the system. The world of diplomacy—in the Middle East and elsewhere—could use more of them. Which is to say, it could use more David Friedmans"

Trump tweeted, "The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes."

"Can a tweet start an arms race? This one may just have done that," said Joseph Cirincione, president of Ploughshares Fund, a global security foundation.

Trump spokesman Jason Miller said in a statement to NBC News that "President-elect Trump was referring to the threat of nuclear proliferation and the critical need to prevent it — particularly to and among terrorist organizations and unstable and rogue regimes. He has also emphasized the need to improve and modernize our deterrent capability as a vital way to pursue peace through strength."

Miller did not respond to a follow-up question asking whether that meant Trump was not, in fact, calling for more nuclear weapons.

Trump campaign manager and soon-to-be White House counselor Kellyanne Conway later Thursday said on MSNBC's The Rachel Show that the president-elect was "not trying to change policy" but rather putting rogue nations "on notice."

Trump is repudiating these famous quotes by Ronald Reagan.

Reagan and Gorbachev negotiate outside the Reykjavik Summit 1986
“We seek the total elimination one day of nuclear weapons from the face of the Earth.”
Ronald Reagan, Inaugural Address, 1981

“A nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought. The only value in our two nations possessing nuclear weapons is to make sure they will never be used. But then would it not be better to do away with them entirely?”
Ronald Reagan, 1984 State of the Union

“It is my fervent goal and hope…that we will some day no longer have to rely on nuclear weapons to deter aggression and assure world peace. To that end the United States is now engaged in a serious and sustained effort to negotiate major reductions in levels of offensive nuclear weapons with the ultimate goal of eliminating these weapons from the face of the earth.”
Ronald Reagan, October 20, 1986

“I can’t believe that this world can go on beyond our generation and on down to succeeding generations with this kind of weapon on both sides poised at each other without someday some fool or some maniac or some accident triggering the kind of war that is the end of the line for all of us. And I just think of what a sigh of relief would go up from everyone on this earth if someday–and this is what I have–my hope, way in the back of my head–is that if we start down the road to reduction, maybe one day in doing that, somebody will say, ‘Why not all the way? Let’s get rid of all these things’.”
Ronald Reagan, May 16, 1983

Reagan and Gorbachev at the Reykjavik Summit
“My central arms control objective has been to reduce substantially, and ultimately to eliminate, nuclear weapons and rid the world of the nuclear threat. The prevention of the spread of nuclear explosives to additional countries is an indispensable part of our efforts to meet this objective. I intend to continue my pursuit of this goal with untiring determination and a profound sense of personal commitment.”
Ronald Reagan, March 25, 1988 Message to Congress on NPT

“Peace is not the absence of conflict, it is the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means.”
Ronald Reagan, from Reagan’s Secret War by Martin and Annelise Anderson’s
“The challenge of statesmanship is to have the vision to dream of a better, safer world and the courage, persistence, and patience to turn that dream into a reality.”
Ronald Reagan, from Reagan’s Secret War by Martin and Annelise Anderson’s
“Our moral imperative is to work with all our powers for that day when the children of the world grow up without the fear of nuclear war.”

He also said, "But the people getting killed in this deal are the small business people and individuals who make just a little bit too much ,,,,"
He said this in Michigan, what did Michigan do that it had not done in many Election Cycles, oh yeah, IT voted for Trump.

And then there is this bit of throwing Hillary under the Bulldozer by old stupid slow joe, a guy that should have run, might have won.

"
Washington (CNN) — Hillary Clinton felt compelled to run for president despite lacking a clear campaign vision, Vice President Joe Biden argued in an interview published Thursday.

"I don't think she ever really figured it out," Biden told the Los Angeles Times' Mike Memoli. "And by the way, I think it was really hard for her to decide to run."

Biden said Clinton likely felt obliged to run for president and that the historic nature of her bid weighed on her decision-making.

"She thought she had no choice but to run. That, as the first woman who had an opportunity to win the presidency, I think it was a real burden on her," Biden said.

It has all been taken away from the Liberal Democrat Party. The Optics were going to be great, the policies, well, joe said it best.

The problem is the current law completely screws over anyone making above 250% of the federal poverty level, which isn't hard to achieve, since you must buy this mandate ladened hunk of shit with after tax money.

That is why the Urban Institute found that more than 80% of those earning between 100% and 150% of the federal poverty level (FPL)–the poor–signed up for Obamacare coverage in 2015 but only about 30% of those earning between 200% and 300% of the FPL signed up. http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2016/12/19/trump-counties-would-see-big-impact-from-obamacare-repeal/

The Wall Street Journal

When he campaigned for president, Donald Trump made repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act a signature issue. Polling suggests that such a move would have the biggest impacts on communities that gave Mr. Trump some of his highest levels of support, potentially complicating the politics of a repeal effort.

More than 20 million Americans now depend on the ACA, also known as Obamacare, for health insurance. Data from Gallup indicate that a lot of those people live in counties that favored Mr. Trump.

The Gallup data, analyzed with the county typology from the American Communities Project, show that eight county types have seen increases in health insurance coverage greater than the national average. Six of those types — representing about 77 million people or 33 million votes, a quarter of the total cast — sided with Mr. Trump, some by very large margins.

Some of the county categories listed in the table were particularly important to Mr. Trump. Swaths of largely rural Graying America, Rural Middle America and Working Class Country counties make up large parts of Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, the states that led to Mr. Trump’s victory.

The fact that insurance coverage rates increased in those counties is not a surprise. They are the kinds of places that the ACA targeted when it aimed to expand coverage. The county categories that show big upticks in insurance coverage had been below the national average for coverage rates in 2008, according to Gallup data. Many of them have median incomes below the national average and struggle with higher than average unemployment rates.

Viewed through a political lens, the numbers suggest a challenge for Mr. Trump and the GOP-led Congress. If Mr. Trump keeps his campaign promise to scrap and replace the ACA, communities that gave him some of his biggest margins would likely see the biggest impact. That reality may be behind Mr. Trump’s expressed interest in holding onto at least parts of the law, particularly provisions that bar insurers from denying insurance on the basis of preexisting conditions and which allow people to keep their older children on parents’ plans.

At the same time, some people who gained insurance coverage may nevertheless dislike the law—among other reasons, because coverage was mandated. In other words, just because people follow a mandate doesn’t mean they necessarily support it.

Gallup’s data show that nationally, 53% disapprove of the law, while 42% approve of it. That’s despite the fact that the uninsured rate in the U.S. sank to 10.9% in the third quarter of 2016, according to Gallup. That’s the lowest since Gallup began tracking the figure nine years ago.
