Biggest mass temper tantrum in history!

We can go back and forth on the size of the inauguration crowd, or how many people watched it world wide, or whatever... but one thing is for certain:

This was the largest full scale all out coordinated group temper tantrum ever performed anywhere.

One has to be amazed at just how many sore losers are willing to come out to display such hatred of one man, and such intolerance for those who support him.

To be clear, nobody suggests that you cannot protest something peacefully. Of course, one "might" prefer that those protests be in resistance to something "other" than the Democratic process, the peaceful transfer of power, and the American tradition of showing respect for a new leader.

The protesters will have you believe that they are protesting something tangible. Of course, the President hasn't been President long enough to have done anything to warrant any real protests, and these protests were planned well before he took office. Apparently the protesters must be suggesting this is a preemptive protest against possible future actions that may or may not occur. You can imagine how these possibilities can get people all worked up.

The reality, however, is something quite different. Regardless of what is being claimed... they are literally protesting the fact that Trump won. They are protesting the fact that more people in more states with more electoral college votes, cast their votes for the candidate that these people did not want to win.  This is quite literally a protest of the ultimate group of sore losers, protesting the fact that they lost. Nothing more, nothing less.

Scratch beneath the surface of what this is all about, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out the underlying circular reasoning for "why" they lost in the first place.

The secret is out, Trump had no secret plan to defeat ISIS....Surprise Surprise!!!

So there was no secret plan to beat ISIS?

Among the first executive orders that President Trump will sign Monday will be an order to the defense secretary and joint chiefs to come up with a plan to eviscerate the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, according to the new morning newsletter published by Axios.

Other orders seem to follow the script. As President George W. Bush did, Mr. Trump will reinstate language barring foreign family-planning aid to nongovernmental organizations that also provide abortions. He will formalize his five-year ban on administration officials becoming lobbyists, a policy instituted during the transition, and is likely to impose some kind of hiring freeze in federal agencies.

CNN)Is Donald Trump really a "big fan" of the intelligence community, as he claimed on Twitter, or did he disparage intelligence professionals when he repeatedly referred to them and their work in sneer quotes about "Intelligence" briefings and the "so-called 'Russian hacking'"?

Did Trump mock a disabled reporter, or did your eyes, and the Hollywood elite make you think he did?
Did he convince Ford not to move a car plant to Mexico, saving American jobs, or was it all a fabrication for publicity?
Did he win the election with a historically narrow victory, or did he score a "landslide"?
The questions are endless, and the answers, unless you're paying very close attention -- all the time -- can require significant effort to ascertain. Reality is becoming hazy in the era of Trump. And that's no accident.
The fact is Trump has become America's gaslighter in chief.
If you've never heard the term, prepare to learn it and live with it every day. Unless Trump starts behaving in a radically different way after he becomes President, gaslighting will become one of the words of 2017.
The term comes from the 1930s play "Gas Light" and the 1940s Hollywood movie version (Gaslight) in which a manipulative husband tries to unmoor his wife, played by Ingrid Bergman, by tampering with her perception of reality. He dims the gaslights and then pretends it's only she who thinks they are flickering as the rooms grow darker.
That's only the beginning. He uses a variety of truth-blurring techniques. His goal is to exert power and control by creating doubts about what is real and what isn't, distracting her as he attempts to steal precious jewels.
Mental health professionals have made much of the practice, said to be a favorite of narcissists and abusive spouses. But more recently the tactical tampering with the truth has become a preferred method of strongmen around the world. Gaslighting by other means was always a common feature of dictatorships, but it has found new vogue as a more subtle form of domestic political control even in countries with varying degrees of democracy.

Donald Trump's history of Twitter battles

Donald Trump's history of Twitter battles 02:29
Now Trump has brought it to the United States. The techniques include saying and doing things and then denying it, blaming others for misunderstanding, disparaging their concerns as oversensitivity, claiming outrageous statements were jokes or misunderstandings, and other forms of twilighting the truth.
Recall the presidential campaign. By early summer, Trump had already accumulated a long list of statements he made and then denied making; enough that fact-checkers could hardly keep up. He told his supporters to "knock the crap out" of protesters at his rallies, adding "I will pay your legal fees." When confronted with the statement, he responded: "I didn't say that."
After mimicking a disabled reporter and seeing the video used as evidence against him, he repeatedly denied it, claiming his opponents should be embarrassed to say he did. "I would NEVER mock disabled. Shame!" The denials continued after Meryl Streep brought up the subject this week at the Golden Globes. With the video easily available, Trump's argument boiled down to "Who do you trust, me or your lying eyes?"
Trump mocks intel agencies on Russian hack

Trump mocks intel agencies on Russian hack 02:08
When Trump says something that outrages a portion of the population and pleases one segment, he can have it both ways. Voters eager for a tough guy president may be happy with the bully, while those who don't like it might be appeased by the denial. In the end, few people can keep up with all the facts all the time. And as he tries to undercut the credibility of serious journalists, he makes it even harder for everyone else to find an easy path to the truth.
Just before Friday's intelligence briefing on Russian hacks, Trump approvingly tweeted about Julian Assange's statements denying Russian involvement. When he was criticized for trusting the head of WikiLeaks more than US intelligence professionals, he accused the "dishonest media" of claiming he agreed with Assange.
The fact is, many people hear only Trump's version of events, and polls show many people believe even the most obvious distortions of the truth.
He's just getting started, but compared with the man he admires so much, he's a rank amateur at gaslighting.

C.H. Truth said...

Wow Roger...

Looks like the media is successfully "gaslighting" you into believing this.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

He reportedly financed liberal groups and neo-Nazi skinheads. Russian politics became theater, and Putin gradually gained almost total control, with the independent media gradually disappearing as an alternative to journalists loyal to the government.
Russia's false reality then moved from the domestic arena to global theater. When "little green men" made their appearance in Ukraine's Crimea, Russia denied that there were Russian operatives in unmarked uniforms. And when pro-Russian militias emerged in Ukraine and elsewhere, Moscow claimed they emerged spontaneously in a quest for independence, even as Russian military forces moved into position in a sovereign country.
Russia even tried to gaslight US voters, as intelligence agencies concluded, trying to undermine their faith in the democratic process. And when Moscow thought Trump would lose, it planned to promote the view that the election was stolen, under the #DemocracyRIP banner, a plan whose seeds Trump had already planted.
The challenge will be a steep one for journalists and for all Americans, when so much of what comes from the next president has to be checked and double-checked. The first step is to establish when there is a gaslighting operation in progress.
Then comes the battle to hold on to the facts.

This explains it and how it works. Your posts here today, that I knew was coming, that you are ignoring that this world wide movement would become the roots of a social and political movement.

I don't waste my time, just goofing off. I have always been fascinated by the world around us. These thoughts, so to speak, roll around in my mind. Eventually, if I think that it's reasonable, I compose the ideas in my brain, and put them into written words.

It's a logical explanation of what I've been observing here. I'm sure that it will be dismissed by those who will remain unnamed, have already dismissed it, because it's beyond their intellectual abilities.

Later, I have important family matters to attend to. Sadly, one of my older sisters is sliding into dementia. It's so sad. She is ten years older than me. She had the great fortune of taking care of me when my mom went to work. I was a pretentious child. aka, a pain in the ass.

But hey, Roger...

Donald Trump has accepted the oath of office to be President but has utterly refused to comply with the Constitutional requirements to cease accepting all forms of foreign government payments – which his hotels, his Trump Tower, and presumably other Trump businesses continue to accept. Former Bush White House Counsel Richard W. Painter is part of the all-star team of lawyers suing Trump to enforce the Constitution, and he went on Australian TV to deliver an ultimatum to Donald Trump; Comply, leave or face involuntary eviction from the White House:

“He makes sure first and foremost, that he complies with the Constitution, that means the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution with respect to the foreign government payments. That also means the provisions of the Constitution that protect Americans from discrimination based on their religious faith. We are not going to be keeping a registry of Muslims in America, we’re not going to be deporting Muslims, we’re not going to be barring people from coming into our country because of their religion.

“All of those ideas are antithetical to our Constitution and he is going to need to comply with the Constitution to be a good President, in order to remain as President.”

“We will remove a President who cannot comply with the Constitution.”

Richard Painter also told the Aussie news magazine that the Trump brand is a danger to national security, as it could make the buildings a terrorist target. It’s an entirely reasonable supposition considering that most attacks today happen at “soft targets” like public places where regular, innocent people live their lives, rather than against heavily fortified government buildings.

For example, Trump has a new tower in the increasingly authoritarian country of Turkey, which is a nation of great strategic importance for its proximity to the conflicts in the Middle East. Painter explains this creates a major conflict of interest between our security and private profit for the new President:

Ryan is still pushing he Ann Rynd elimination of Social Security and Medicare. Obama said he won't reduce them or eliminate them, so there are a lot of problems.

WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump told Capitol Hill leaders Monday evening that he lost the popular vote because 3 million to 5 million “illegals” voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton, according to three sources in both parties familiar with the meeting.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that he lost the popular vote in November’s election because of voter fraud. There is no evidence of this, and none that millions of undocumented immigrants voted for Clinton. It’s a fixation for Trump, who won the election because of Electoral College votes, but has had trouble accepting that Clinton won the popular vote by more than 2.8 million.

“I don’t think he was joking,” said one person familiar with what happened in the meeting. “He spent 10 minutes on his win and said he won the popular vote, except 3 to 5 million illegals voted for” Clinton.

Another source confirmed Trump used the word “illegals,” considered an offensive term for undocumented immigrants.

This was Trump’s first official meeting with congressional leaders since being sworn in as president on Friday. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who was among those in the room, was asked by White House reporters after the meeting if Trump made any surprising statements.

“Well, I won’t even go into that,” Pelosi said.

That is just one more temper tantrum.

One total untruth. They offered the Republicans to participate in writing the law. Not one agreed despite being asked. Second every single amendment was to destroy the law.

CBS News confirmed reports that President Donald Trump brought a studio audience to his visit with the CIA on Saturday. The news agency reports that an official said the visit left a wake of “unease,” “made relations with the intelligence community worse,” and was “uncomfortable.”

No I'm not. You are unable to write something that is a reasonable, that justifies his lies. Or find proof that there were millions of aliens voted for Hillary Clinton.

Or prove that the CBS story is incorrect. But since you are unable to prove that I'm wrong, and President Trump did not lie.

In the meantime, kiss my ass. You are worthless on this blog. I pity those who have to live with you.

U.S. government sources tell CBS News that there is a sense of unease in the intelligence community after President Trump’s visit to CIA headquarters on Saturday.

Trump CIA speech transcript
An official said the visit “made relations with the intelligence community worse” and described the visit as “uncomfortable.”

Authorities are also pushing back against the perception that the CIA workforce was cheering for the president. They say the first three rows in front of the president were largely made up of supporters of Mr. Trump’s campaign.

An official with knowledge of the make-up of the crowd says that there were about 40 people who’d been invited by the Trump, Mike Pence and Rep. Mike Pompeo teams. The Trump team originally expected Rep. Pompeo, R-Kansas, to be sworn in during the event as the next CIA director, but the vote to confirm him was delayed on Friday by Senate Democrats. Also sitting in the first several rows in front of the president was the CIA’s senior leadership, which was not cheering the remarks.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Monday denied that there were “Trump or White House folks” in the first rows.

“There were no Trump or White House folks sitting down. They were all CIA (unintelligible). So, not in rows one-through-anything, from what I’m told.” Spicer said at the White House briefing Monday. He did not address whether Pompeo invitees were in the first rows.

A source who is familiar with the planning of the president’s CIA visit saw Spicer’s briefing, however, and firmly denied Spicer’s response was accurate.

Officials acknowledge that Mr. Trump does have his supporters within the CIA workforce, many of whom were interspersed among the rank and file standing off to the president’s right.

There were about 400 members of the workforce who RSVP’d for the event out of thousands who received an invitation in their email late last week. Officials dismiss White House claims that there were people waiting to get into the event.

Intelligence sources say many in the workforce were stunned and at times offended by the president’s tone which seemed to evolve into a version of speeches he’d used on the campaign trail.

The intelligence community sees itself as above politics even though as president-elect, Mr. Trump was critical of it and accused it of politically motivated leaks.

The CIA was Mr. Trump’s first official agency visit for a reason, it was to signal a new beginning. At the outset of the speech, the president expressed his support for the CIA, “There is nobody that feels stronger about the intelligence community and the CIA than Donald Trump.”

But it is what he said later in front of the CIA’s revered Memorial Wall (a monument to CIA officers killed in the line of duty) -- complaints about the media’s coverage of his relationship with the intelligence community and its assessments of the crowd size at his inauguration -- that may be harder to erase from the minds of the intelligence community.

CBS News’ Steven Portnoy contributed to this report.

Dan Rather: These are not normal times. These are extraordinary times. And extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures.

When you have a spokesperson for the president of the United States wrap up a lie in the Orwellian phrase "alternative facts”…

When you have a press secretary in his first appearance before the White House reporters threaten, bully, lie, and then walk out of the briefing room without the cajones to answer a single question…

When you have a President stand before the stars of the fallen CIA agents and boast about the size of his crowds (lies) and how great his authoritarian inaugural speech was….

These are not normal times.

The press has never seen anything like this before. The public has never seen anything like this before. And the political leaders of both parties have never seen anything like this before.

What can we do? We can all step up and say simply and without equivocation. "A lie, is a lie, is a lie!" And if someone won't say it, those of us who know that there is such a thing as the truth must do whatever is in our power to diminish the liar's malignant reach into our society.

There is one group of people who can do a lot - very quickly. And that is Republicans in Congress. Without their support, Donald Trump's presidency will falter. So here is what I think everyone in the press must do. If you are interviewing a Paul Ryan, a Mitch McConnell, or any other GOP elected official, the first question must be "what will you do to combat the lying from the White House?" If they dodge and weave, keep with the follow ups. And if they refuse to give a satisfactory answer, end the interview.

Facts and the truth are not partisan. They are the bedrock of our democracy. And you are either with them, with us, with our Constitution, our history, and the future of our nation, or you are against it. Everyone must answer that question.

President Trump welcomed congressional leaders to the White House for a reception Monday evening, and the conversation at one point returned to the November election.

Trump told the congressional leaders that he lost the popular vote to Democratic rival Hillary Clinton because millions of "illegals" cast ballots, according to an aide granted anonymity to discuss the private meeting.

Trump told them that 3 million to 5 million "illegals" voted, the aide said.

Of course, there has been no suggestion of widespread voter fraud in the 2016 election, and no belief that immigrants who are in the country illegally voted fraudulently.

Indeed, that kind of fraudulent turnout among the estimated 11 million immigrants in the U.S. illegally would be a stunning development.

While Trump won the electoral college, he lost the popular vote to Clinton by nearly 3 million votes.

The comment was first reported by the Washington Post.

The evening reception in the State Dining Room, with shrimp cocktail and sliders, was billed as a get-to-know-you session with Republican and Democratic leaders of the House and Senate at the start of the new president's administration.

The press pool was ushered in briefly for a photo of the event, and Trump was heard saying, "I do respect the electoral college."

Congressional leaders had no immediate response on their reaction to Trump's claim.

It was part of a long commentary by Trump on how well he did in the election, people familiar with his remarks said.

Asked later Monday if the president said anything surprising, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco), the House minority leader, said: "Well, I won’t even go into that."

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) stayed behind for a separate meeting with Trump on the GOP agenda.
