This appears to be one of the clearest differences between President Obama and President Trump. When NATO made the agreement in 2014 to increase their defense spending, there was likely never any real intention of doing so. President Obama wasn't going to push the issue, and neither would have a President Clinton.
In fact, most of the international agreements made during the Obama Presidency were designed to favor everyone else, at the expense of the United States. I doubt Donald Trump will cut any deals that are not favorable to the United State's interest, and I doubt he will cut any deals that include a wink and a nod that dismisses actual accountability.
America is no longer dropping their pants and bending over for the international community. While this apparently alarms many of those on the left (who apparently believe that Americans deserve a good anal raping every now and again)... the end result is that our allies and enemies alike are starting to show some long overdue respect again.

I remember the vapors liberals had when Trump actually demanded that NATO states lived up to their obligations.
When Trump said it, I believe only Great Britain was living up to the deal.

Just two days after President Trump provoked widespread consternation by seeming to imply, incorrectly, that immigrants had perpetrated a recent spate of violence in Sweden, riots broke out in a predominantly immigrant neighborhood in the northern suburbs of Sweden's capital, Stockholm.
The neighborhood, Rinkeby, was the scene of riots in 2010 and 2013, too. And in most ways, what happened late Monday night was reminiscent of those earlier bouts of anger. Swedish police apparently made an arrest around 8 p.m. near the Rinkeby station. For reasons not yet disclosed by the police, word of the arrest prompted a crowd of youths to gather.
Over four hours, the crowd burned about half a dozen cars, vandalized several shopfronts and threw rocks at police. Police spokesman Lars Bystrom confirmed to Sweden's Dagens Nyheter newspaper that an officer fired shots with intention to hit a rioter, but did not strike his target. A photographer for the newspaper was attacked by more than a dozen men and his camera was stolen, but ultimately no one was hurt or even arrested.

since the swedes welcomed the raghead "refugees" murders are up 70%, rapes are up 70%, and retail establishments are closing earlier to keep the patrons safe. this is exactly the purpose of trump's EO that was shot down by the 9th circus. if we let europe's refugee failure be our guide, and reject the liberals PC bullshit, we can avoid this shitshow.
