WaPo - Trump 43 Clinton 40

The new survey finds 46 percent saying they voted for Clinton and 43 percent for Trump, similar to her two-point national vote margin. Asked how they would vote if the election were held today, 43 say they would support Trump and 40 percent say Clinton.
There are no signs of major slippage in support among those who voted for Trump. His approval rating among those who cast ballots for him stands at 94 percent. Among Republicans, it is 84 percent. Asked of those who voted for him whether they regret doing so, 2 percent say they do, while 96 percent say supporting Trump was the right thing to do. When asked if they would vote for him again, 96 percent say they would, which is higher than the 85 percent of Hillary Clinton voters who say they would support her again.
More proof that the left continues to underestimate the political position that the President is in. While the media would like us to believe that Trump must bend his will (or else), the fact of the matter is that he still is sitting in a reasonably good political position (in terms of reelection). He doesn't have to win over the media, the left, or even the mushy middle to win reelection. He had none of that when he won in 2016.

Trump needs to oversee at least a slightly better economy, needs to keep fighting his fights, and he needs to continue to make strong leadership calls on international issues.

Scott Adams predicted that Trump would start off (with the Democrats and the media) as Hitler. Then after some time he would be promoted from Hitler to incompetent. Eventually he would be promoted from incompetent to "competent, but we don't like what he is doing". At the very least the Hitler comparisons have waned quite a bit (as have the Russian stooge claims) and the media has tried to "promote" him to incompetent. (Face it: you really cannot be a diabolical character conspiring with evil world leaders to control the world... and be incompetent at the same time).  But with the bombings of Syrian air fields and ISIS camps, the Neil Gorsuch confirmation, and the fact that the media is talking about a tax plan and 100 days... he seems to be inching closer to being promoted again to "competent, but we don't like what he is doing".

Keep in mind that the entire 2016 anti-Trump campaign was largely built on the concept that Trump could not be taken seriously, and that the notion of him being President was absurd at best. The fact that we are currently debating about (and will continue to debate about) his policy positions, his impact on the economy, and the impact of his international decisions...  elevates his stature to that of an "actual" President. Go figure.

Why have a job when you can be like Alky, he posted on Nov 9th,2016 in the morning that he would be ok financially, IF, President Trump did not screw up Medicaid. Why and how is a guy that is fabulously wealth bilking Medicaid? Medicaid is for poor people.

Now, CH posts polls that he likes.....Shocking the flip flops of our esteemed host when it comes to whether polls are valid or not. Seems to me the 90 +% of R's would vote for him again just demonstrate like you, admitting being wrong is not in your genetic make up.

Seems to me that this is like the fourth poll showing the exact same thing. That there is no truth to the media myth that Trump supporters are suddenly turning on the President. Not exactly being "selective" here.

Seems to me that this is like the fourth poll showing the exact same thing.

Like I said and it has nothing to do with the validity of the polls, is that R's do not have it in them, including you and menstral, admit to ever making a mistake. No where did I allude to die hards turning on trump anytime soon. I still like the way you make shit up, CH. Very important to always being correct, just like I said. LOL

Well, you read every single word I post. I put it in my by line.

How cares, well, Opium, Mother Earth cares, for over 55 years my dad thought me to garden, grow my own food, sell some , give away more and GOD will bless.

My Dad has long passed , I still honor his teachings and the care he taught all of his children, the due respect for the land and the good food it will pour forth when one is respectful and a good steward.

Tell us ole Round ONE, what food comes from your hands through your labor, sweat and toil?

Hillary is not President, Neil Gorsuch is on the USSC, and likely another conservative will replace Kennedy at the end of this session.

Things are going in the "right" direction... the opposite of where they would have went with Hillary.

It wasn't a mistake.

Yet, there are a 101 articles each week telling us he has already lost his support, his base is revolting, etc, etc...

Nate Silver today just assured us that a big 2018 Democratic surge was a forgone conclusion.

I am just pointing out that there is no relevant data points at this time to declare his reelection prospects as D.O.A. as much as some would like to assume.

Trump vs. Obama: A Study In Contrasts.

I am going to leave to one side what might be the largest difference: that Obama was above all a man of lofty-sounding rhetoric, at once pragmatic in tone and utopian in aspiration, while Trump is a man of demotic and sometimes involuted rhetoric but decisive, almost impatient action. . . .

Mark the difference.

Obama ordered the liberation of terrorists to secure the release of an anti-American army deserter whose desertion cost the lives of at least six army soldiers who had been sent to look for him. Trump hears about the plight of a US national, uses a behind-the-scenes diplomatic initiative as an occasion to secure her release, and celebrates it at the White House.

No what? That you are never wrong being a trump supporter? Gorsuch....credit McConnell for that. I doubt donnie even knew who Neil was before he was told to nominate him. Things are going in the correct direction if you are a republicon who don't care about women, science, research or divided government since you guys can't even agree on funding and will blame democrats for your own foibles. Nice try, CH, I really enjoy reading your BS spin.

Well, rather than talk about getting another year older, despite a couple close calls. I appreciated the post.

But politics.
CH, you believe that the general opinion is over estimating Mr Trump. Guess what? I disagree. I don't want to talk about the rules and possible filibusterer. I think his erratic behavior has opened up the door to the Democrats to retake both the congress and White House by 2020.

Even though you didn't vote for him, you have never differed with Trump, no mater how often he either reversed his positions, or flat out lied. But you believe the "Fake News" that shows the data that shows the reversal. I have come to an understanding on how you can intellectually maintain the agreement with the President.

The Trump "facts" are his opinions. You avoid the truth because you have come to believe that Mt Trump's "truth" is an opinion. You believe his opinion is the "truth" and the "Fake Truth" is an opinion too. But the reality is, that your position is not the truth, it's an opinion.

He is handing a gift every day to the Democrats. He handed them a guest this evening. They are not going to present a repeal/ replace Obamacare on Wednesday as he said before. Another broken promise, and this was his number one campaign promise. He said that the Mexican government would pay for the wall "eventually" The wall is not that popular except for his core believers. It won' be funded, because the Republicans will not put is into the budget they have to be prepared by Friday. He is going to being blamed for both failures.

His budget is going to reduce the corporation from 35% to 15%. Trickle down on steroids. The Democrats will open up the "trickle down" theory that has reduced the middle class percentage since the Reagan tax cuts. If he follows up with his threat to withhold funding for ObamaCare, 20,000 coal miners will leave their health insurance.

He claimed that Obama and Clinton were responsible or ISIS. He also said that he would be have a plan in place within 30 days of taking office. He hasn't made any more progress than Obama did, who had devastated by killing most of their leaders. That is not the "fake truth" my friend, it's not my opinion, it's a fact.

His tweets on Obama wiretapping and false claims on crowd size are pathological lies, according to a lot of people who have the credentials have said so.

bottom like folks, His poor polls, are going to make it difficult for congressional Republicans. The fact that almost 60% does not have good judgement. He has almost no credibility, both domestically and in foreign affairs. He may get China to act on North Korea would be a success, but probably his only one. And you don't want to forget the "armada" was in the South China sea and headed south when he said it

A President replies on creditably. The facts not an opinion are true. He can't be trusted in negotiations. In pure political terms, the house especially is showing a lot of nervous behavior. If, and I mean if, the Democrats can appear to be the grownup compared to the childish, impulsive liar

On top of that, 73% support a non partisan investigation into the still open claims. Where there is smoke, their is fire. If the Trump administration would say, go ahead, we didn't do anything wrong, I wouldn't be suspicious. But the smoke emanating out of the White House leads me to wonder why they are opposed

Then there is a fact that his White House staff is divided, they speak off record on the mess. Nepotism is never a god idea, and there will always be questions about policies that are favorable to his multi national holdings. And not one word of this is a copy/paste from a "Fake News" source, aka the coldheartedtruth.

So the left wing organization commission a poll to prove Trump Sucks and it back fired, Trump would win again. And by greater margins.

He claimed that Obama and Clinton were responsible or ISIS.

He's not wrong. Obama's policy to bug out of Iraq left a power vacuum so big that the "JV" terrorist group controlled western Syria and northern Iraq.

That setback is solely on Clinton's and Obama's heads.
