But what else would they talk about?

A Harvard University poll has found that nearly two-thirds of Americans believe the FBI’s Russia investigations are “hurting the country” and a majority believe it is time for Congress and the establishment media to “move on to other issues.”
According to the Harvard-Harris poll, which The Hill obtained, 64% of “voters said the investigations into President Trump and Russia are hurting the country” while another 56% “said it’s time for Congress and the media to move on to other issues, compared to 44 percent who said the focus should stay on Russia.”
In addition, the poll found that that 73% said “they’re concerned that the Russia probes have caused Congress to lose focus on the issues important to them. That figure encompasses 81 percent of Republicans, 74 percent of independents and 68 percent of Democrats.”
What's most interesting about this poll is the overlap.  Approximately ten percent of the country believe that the investigations are hurting the country, causing Congress to lose focus, but they still believe that the focus should remain on Russia?  I would like to get inside the heads of one of these people and figure out where this logic comes from exactly.  My guess is that they figure (probably incorrectly) that this is good politics.

What else would they talk about? How about this:

No Action Taken to Stop Next Election Hacking

“The Trump administration has taken little meaningful action to prevent Russian hacking, leaking and disruption in the next national election in 2018, despite warnings from intelligence officials that it will happen again,” officials and experts told NBC News.

“According to recent Congressional testimony, Trump has shown no interest in the question of how to prevent future election interference by Russia or another foreign power. Former FBI Director James Comey told senators that Trump never asked him about how to stop a future Russian election cyber attack, and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who sits on the National Security Council, testified that he has not received a classified briefing on Russian election interference.

“Dozens of state officials told NBC News they have received little direction from Washington about election security.”
__________

So maybe we better SHOULD investigate why Trump has such a wide open arms attitude toward Putin. Does Putin have something on him?

Gee, finally a poll that 100% supports our esteemed host tenets, and guess what....he puts it at the head of a thread in a C&P to start another partisan discussion. Not sure how the questions were posed, but, that doesn't matter, CH agrees with it. Oh well, lets put our collective heads in the sand like trump has accused Obama for ignoring russian meddling. LOL

It's not necessarily politics. The investigations into President Trump and Russia are hurting the country and hampering the ability of Congress and the Administration to operate effectively. I have no doubt about that, and can only assume that the 36% who felt otherwise were confused by the semantics of the question.

However, the consequences of moving on without getting to the truth could be worse. Effective interference in our elections by inimical foreign powers is too serious to just disregard, even at this point. That's how I see it, it's not politics and not at all illogical.

"In a per curiam order, the Supreme Court agreed to hear the Trump Travel Order cases, and also substantially lifted the injunctions, with the exception of people who already have a bona fide connection to the U.S."

- We moved on and never really got to the truth regarding allegations that the IRS was being used as a political weapon.
- We moved on and never really got to the truth regarding the fast and furious fiasco.
- We moved on and never really got to the truth regarding the entire Clinton Email scandal.
- We will likely move on and never really get to the truth regarding any possible Lynch/Clinton obstruction

Personally... I expect that Russia, China, and most every other country out there is trying to hack our government, political party, and campaign sites. It doesn't come as a shock that Russians attempted this, and it doesn't shock me that they got into the DNC and Clinton campaign email servers.

I don't know how investigating what we are investigating now has anything to do with that. Not if Mueller and gang are investigating Flynn's ties to Turkey, or Manafort's years old international business dealings.

It all sounds good when you demand that's an important issue regarding our national security... but that's not what it's about anymore (and there is no evidence still of collusion)...

More to the point, the Russians tried but "didn't" get into several different government sites. The fact that the DNC and Clinton camps have poor security really isn't the concern of the Government. We just need to make sure that our systems remain hacked free (and unhackable to the degree that they can be).

Well for one thing SCOTUS has upheld Trump's travel ban (for now) pretty much intact.

But maybe that should be another thread.

They will hear the case next October but the opinions about the likelihood of the government prevailing means the 9th and 5th circuits are going to get a very public scolding when the case is finally decided.

look at the bright side -

at least it's giving the democrats in congress something to do.

without this we'd be paying them to sit in their offices and watch MSDNC all day.

huh.

what a coincidence...

“The 0linsky administration had taken little meaningful action to prevent Russian hacking, leaking and disruption in the national election of 2016, despite warnings from intelligence officials that it will happen.”

And THAT is why it is important for the investigation to continue, unhindered, even though it distracts and degrades the ability our elected officials to effectively govern.

It's ironic, Trump supporters should be gleeful about this given Trump's mandate to "burn it all down". It's what you elected him for. Enjoy.
