Donald Trump Derangement Syndrome...

So how can you tell if someone is suffering from Donald Trump Derangement Syndrome?

Simple...

When you publish a post regarding the FBI conclusions on the recent shooting of Republican Congress members,  the people suffering will demand that somehow this post provides proof of your irrational support for Donald Trump and that there must be something wrong with you.

When you publish a post regarding a recent election result. the people suffering will demand that somehow this post provides proof of your irrational support for Donald Trump and that there must be something wrong with you.

When you publish a post about the FBI investigation, the people suffering will demand that somehow this post provides proof of your irrational support for Donald Trump and that there must be something wrong with you.

In fact, no matter what the topic of conversation is, those suffering cannot help themselves from doing everything in their power to change the subject to be about Donald Trump and then personally insult you for what they demand is your unwarranted and irrational support of Trump.

Oh, and whether or not you actually support Donald Trump is irrelevant. If you don't hate him as much as they do, it means you must have an unwarranted and irrational support for him and this is something that they need to continue to point out regardless of the conversation. It is literally impossible to engage in any other topic, it's all Trump all the time.

Why?

Because they cannot help themselves... they suffer from TDS. The proof is there for everyone to see.

The following is BIG, BIG, BIG:

CIA Captured Putin’s Instructions to Help Elect Trump

“Early last August, an envelope with extraordinary handling restrictions arrived at the White House. Sent by courier from the CIA, it carried ‘eyes only’ instructions that its contents be shown to just four people: President Barack Obama and three senior aides,” the Washington Post reports.

“Inside was an intelligence bombshell… The intelligence captured Putin’s specific instructions on the operation’s audacious objectives — defeat or at least damage the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, and help elect her opponent, Donald Trump.”
_______________________________________________

Why is it BIG? Because it lays the Russian interference in our elections in the very lap of Puntin himself.

Also, Republicans resisted the Obama administration]s overture to deal with this in a bipartisan way. Mitch McConnell would not hear of it. He said no.

Also, Obama himself can be criticized for not raising hell over it. He feared he would be seen as doing it only for political reasons. That was a mistake. Here again he allowed his over-cautious, Hamlet-like nature too much to influence him.

He should have started screaming about it the first he learned of it.

But of course your side would have said it was FAKE and he was only politicking.

What bothers me the most is the Follow the Leader syndrome. Birtherism should have disqualified Trump from being president ever. But beyond that Karma he has a long document history of lies and exaggerations and twists and turns on reality. I want someone who supposedly logical buys into the fake news junk junk. Our media is not perfect but is not out there automatically to get other Republicans it's not. Anonymous sources are quite often very highly placed people within the system or very uncomfortable but cannot come out in public. The reporters are we protecting the identity of the source and order to get a story that is true if it's true worth printing. But in the end a free press is the anchor to our democracy Donald Trump is trying to undercut it every inch of the way that is very very dangerous. That is why are the founding fathers put it as the First Amendment of the Constitution. Watch today he's been trying to manipulate the Press and close no no camera press conference so they can control what said control. Yeah you have not criticized one of them who criticized the criticized the people about it but you did not criticize the president for his decisions to do those things makes no sense he's not perfect but you seem to think he is that is dangerous sir.

It works because the news media keeps playing into the narrative with false and misleading reports. They're so invested on destroying Trump that they don't bother to double check all those anonymous sources.

Here's a thought. If the media was actually more objective and publishes what is true instead of a Democrat talking point to hurt Trump, it might not work anymore.

Commonsense said...

According to a new poll released by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal, 50 percent of participants believe the media have favored people making allegations against the Republican occupant of the White House; 34 percent think the media have been responsible; and 12 percent say the media have been too restrained.

Kind of important to remember this poll's sample skews anti-Trump and pro-Democrat like most media polls nowadays.

Why is it that you don't support the concept that the public had a right to know what the DNC and Clinton camps were doing, how they were colluding, and how the media was even providing Clinton with the debate questions before hand?

At the very least, none of the wiki-leaks that supposedly damaged Clinton were second hand stories from unnamed sources that were not true most of the time...

They were the actual real emails being sent back and forth?

Why Reince Priebus Can’t Save His Job

Politico: “No matter what Priebus does to try to save his job, it will amount only to tinkering around the edges, because
the central stumbling block is Trump himself.
Until the president learns that he cannot govern
without giving someone the authority to tell him hard truths,
there is little any chief of staff can do.”

“As it is, the Trump administration has been
unable to perform the most basic tasks:
issue enforceable executive orders,
craft legislation,
prioritize the president’s agenda
or communicate a coherent message.
In a normal White House,
all of these functions flow from a strong and empowered chief of staff.
But in the transplanted Manhattan real estate firm
that is Trump’s West Wing
—a scrum of advisers competing for the boss’ favor—
Priebus has never been given the necessary authority as first among equals.”

Heller Says He Won’t Support GOP Health Bill

Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) said that “he cannot support Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s health-care bill without changes to it, becoming the fifth GOP senator to take that position since the bill was released,” the Washington Post reports.

“Heller, who is up for reelection in 2018, has expressed concerns about the way the measure addresses the future of Medicaid. The proposal would impose long-term federal spending cuts on the program.”

Said Heller: “I cannot support a piece of legislation that takes away insurance from tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Nevadans.”
______________

Pro-Trump Group Targets Heller

“A pro-Trump outside group is launching an advertising blitz against Republican Sen. Dean Heller over his opposition to the health care repeal bill — a bold act of political retaliation against a member of the president’s own party,” Politico reports.

“Heller, a Nevada Republican, is up for re-election in 2018 and is seen as one of the most vulnerable incumbents up for reelection this cycle.”

What Happens when a President Loses Legitimacy?

David Frum: “The U.S. government is already osmotically working around the presidency, a process enabled by the president’s visible distaste for the work of governance. The National Security Council staff is increasingly a double-headed institution, a zone of struggle between Kushner-Flynn-Bannon types on one side, and a growing staff of capable, experienced, and Russia-skeptical functionaries on the other. The Senate has voted 97-2 to restrict the president’s authority to relax Russia sanctions. It seems the president has been persuaded to take himself out of the chain of command in the escalating military operations in Afghanistan. National-Security Adviser H.R. McMaster recently assured the nation that Trump could not have done much harm when he blabbed a vital secret to the Russian foreign minister in the Oval Office, precisely because the president was not briefed on crucial ‘sources and methods’ information." MEIN GOTT!

“In their way, these workarounds are almost as dangerous to the American system of government as the Trump presidency itself. They tend to reduce the president to the status of an absentee emperor while promoting his subordinates into shoguns who exercise power in his name. Maybe that is the least-bad practicable solution to the unprecedented threat of a presidency-under-suspicion. But what a terrible price for the failure of so many American institutions—not least the voters!—to protect the country in 2016 from Russia’s attack on its election and its democracy.”

This is what I warned of earlier - I don't call it "derangement" although there are extreme cases. Closed echo chamber, where everyone's opinion is reinforced by everyone else agreeing with them. Lies and hatred feed into it, and the denizens of this insular world come to believe that it's all normal, accepted by any reasonable person.

I sympathize with the conservatives, and even Trump, who are the targets of this. But in a way it's Karma because these targets, and the people who pull the strings, did exactly the same thing with Obama and his administration. It's why we have delusional Congressmen among the Republican majority, and why we have Trump himself. It's a mistake for the Democrats to take this path, because they'll wind up with a left-wing version of Trump or worse.

Good old gentle fair minded James said...

Well said, Wp. The best Presidents have advisers whom they encourage to tell them unpleasant truths. Not so, Carrot-top.

C.H. Truth said...

I am going to argue a little bit of false equivalency here WP...

There really isn't any sort of right wing media that has the reach that your so called MSM has... that showed such a serious disinterest in anything that might be considered a scandal for eight years of Obama, but literally cannot stop themselves from getting upset over Trump's latest tweet.

We both know that what Hillary did by wiping her server, and what we know about Lynch, Comey, Bill, etc... is far more serious than anything that has happened in the five months Trump has been President. But you never heard anyone from you MSM call for Lynch to step aside, call for a special counsel, or even call for obstruction charges against Clinton.

Imagine if Trump simply destroyed subpoenaed evidence as Clinton did?

I watched CNN after the special election. Don Lemon and a five person panel. They had one Republican. Lemon kept having to say, let's get our Republican in on this... what do you think.

The fact is that with CNN and the people who watch CNN, having one token Republican out of six people talking is normal, normalized, and they cannot see anything wrong with it.

But they find something wrong with Fox, who will offer two conservatives and two liberals on the same panel.

Not to mention the fact that we now have Justices (Federal Justices) who make a ruling and "admit' that they would come to a different decision if a different President wrote the same order?

I simply don't believe you can compare any resistance to Obama with what is going on today, and demand with a straight face that it's anything close to the same thing.

Loretta said...

As far as MSM goes, it's not the same thing but that's not the insular world of the closed echo chamber. Conservatives are a bit peculiar about media coverage, always outraged about some slant that they can see through but worried that everyone else, who aren't as "smart" as them or who don't have "common sense" will be taken in. I hear the same thing from liberals some times, but Conservatives have practically institutionalized it.

The insular worlds do not allow information from external sources. Washington Post articles were meaningless to them, except to the extent that they could be misread to the effect of maximal outrage.

C.H. Truth said...

Conservatives are a bit peculiar about media coverage

Is it really peculiar to wonder why (when you have a Republican President, Republican House, Republican Senate, 33 Governors, 2/3 of the state legislatures) CNN believes its normal to have five liberals and one conservatives covering politics?

Again... can you address how you feel the media would react to Donald Trump wiping a server "after" it being subpoenaed by the FBI... versus how they reacted when Clinton did the same thing?

Sounds to me like you really have no empathy for what seems obvious to most conservatives. Or you seriously see a false equivalency between the broader liberal MSM and FOX news and Breitbart.

Bernie and Jane Sanders, under FBI investigation for bank fraud, hire lawyers

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and his wife, Jane Sanders have hired prominent defense attorneys amid an FBI investigation into a loan Jane Sanders obtained to expand Burlington College while she was its president, CBS News confirms.

Politico Magazine first reported the Sanders had hired lawyers to defend them in the probe. Sanders' top adviser Jeff Weaver told CBS News the couple has sought legal protection over federal agents' allegations from a January 2016 complaint accusing then-President of Burlington College, Ms. Sanders, of distorting donor levels in a 2010 loan application for $10 million from People's United Bank to purchase 33 acres of land for the institution.

According to Politico, prosecutors might also be looking into allegations that Sen. Sanders' office inappropriately urged the bank to approve the loan.

Burlington attorney and Sanders supporter Rich Cassidy has reportedly been hired to represent Sen. Sanders. And high-profile Washington defense attorney Larry Robbins, who counseled Libby "Scooter" Robbins, former Chief of Staff for the Vice President, is protecting Jane Sanders.

Leave It To German Paper To Say What Every Sane American Thinks Of Trump

When it comes to verbalizing exactly how most sane people feel about Donald Trump, it comes down to the fact that there really aren’t enough expletives to get your point across. He’s as horrific as a person as he is a leader and has absolutely no place being near the Oval Office.

One paper, a German paper called Der Spiegel, has perfectly put into words how most sane Americans, nay, the world, feels about Trump. The author is Klaus Brinkbäumer...

“Donald Trump has transformed the United States into a laughing stock and he is a danger to the world. He must be removed from the White House before things get even worse.

“Donald Trump is not fit to be president of the United States. He does not possess the requisite intellect and does not understand the significance of the office he holds nor the tasks associated with it. He doesn’t read. He doesn’t bother to peruse important files and intelligence reports and knows little about the issues that he has identified as his priorities. His decisions are capricious and they
are delivered in the form of tyrannical decrees.

“He is a man free of morals. As has been demonstrated hundreds of times, he is a liar, a racist and a cheat. I feel ashamed to use these words, as sharp and loud as they are. But if they apply to anyone, they apply to Trump. And one of the media’s tasks is to continue telling things as they are: Trump has to be removed from the White House. Quickly. He is a danger to the world.”
