Bigger problem here is why Sessions omitted his meetings with Kislyak from his vetting documents.

And why did Kushner, Flynn, and others also omit their involvement with Russians?

And why did Trump Jr., Manafort, and Kushner meet with a Russian agent who promised dirt on Clinton and told them Russia was working for a Trump victory?

Trump - more corrupt than Harding, a bigger threat to the constitution than Nixon, and less competent than Buchanan. And we're only 1/8 of the way through his term.

ASPEN, Colorado — Daniel Coats, the director of national intelligence, said Friday there is no dissent inside U.S. intelligence agencies about the conclusion that Russia used hacking and fake news to interfere in the 2016 presidential election — despite comments by his boss, President Donald Trump, that have seemed to cast some doubt about the unanimity.

In an interview with NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt at the Aspen Security Forum, Coats said that the reason only four of 17 intelligence agencies signed onto the January assessment describing the Russian effort is that the other agencies were not involved in gathering and analyzing the intelligence.

Intelligence Chief Coats: Anybody Shocked Russia Is Meddling in Politics?
On July 5, Trump suggested that there had been a misunderstanding of the extent to which the assessment was endorsed by the entire American spy apparatus.

“Let me just start off by saying I heard it was 17 agencies,” Trump said when asked about the intelligence assessment. “I said, ‘Boy, that’s a lot.’ Do we even have that many intelligence agencies, right? Let’s check it. And we did some very heavy research. It turned out to be three or four — it wasn’t 17 — and many of your compatriots had to change their reporting, and they had to apologize, and they had to correct.”

The "three or four" agencies referred to by Trump are the CIA, the FBI, the National Security Agency and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, all of which were named in a January public report assessing with “high confidence” that Russia interfered in the election.

Other intelligence agencies, such as the U.S. Coast Guard’s, were not involved, Coats said. But, he added, there was no disagreement inside the intelligence community.

Coats said he had no doubt that the Russians “are trying to undermine Western democracy.”

"I think they caught us a little bit behind the curve,” he said. “They caught us a little bit asleep in terms of the capabilities that they could do."

Even more more lies and lies and buried until now.NOT FAKE NEWS

Jared Kushner failed to disclose dozens of financial holdings that he was required to declare when he joined the White House as an adviser to President Trump, his father-in-law, according to a revised form released Friday.

A separate document released Friday also showed that Kushner’s wife, presidential daughter Ivanka Trump, had been paid as much as $5 million from her outside businesses over an 84-day span this spring around the time she entered the White House as a senior adviser and pledged to distance herself from her private holdings.

Kushner’s new disclosure, released by the White House, detailed more than 70 assets that his attorneys said he had inadvertently left out of earlier filings. The new document comes as the presidential aide faces increasing scrutiny as part of investigations into alleged Russian influence in the 2016 campaign.

In recent months, Kushner also has updated a national security questionnaire in which he had failed to disclose more than 100 calls or meetings with representatives from foreign countries — and he is scheduled to appear Monday at a closed-door meeting of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The new filing reveals Kushner’s past and current investments in an array of entities, including a real estate trading platform now valued at $800 million in which he continues to hold a large stake. He and his wife also disclosed that their contemporary art collection is valued at between $5 million and $25 million.

Kushner’s financial disclosure has been updated 39 times since his first filing in March.

Frequent revisions are not unusual for appointees with many holdings.

Their attorney, Jamie Gorelick, said in a statement that Kushner and Ivanka Trump “followed each of the required steps in their transition from private citizens to federal officials.”

“The Office of Government Ethics has certified Jared’s financial disclosure, reflecting its determination that his approach complies with federal ethics laws,” Gorelick said. She added that Ivanka Trump’s financial disclosure, which was filed in June, is still being reviewed by the agency.

The filings underscore the enormous wealth of the young couple, who stepped down from day-to-day management of their companies before assuming their public posts.

Kushner resigned from 266 corporate positions, and Trump stepped down from 292 positions, the documents show.

But they still control assets worth at least $139 million, along with another $66 million, at minimum, of assets that are tied to Trump’s stakes in her fashion brand, the Trump hotel in Washington and other real estate projects, according to the filings.

I have a simple question for the host and the others.

In six months of the President's term, other than appointing a conservative Supreme Court what has he done?

On Saturday morning at 3:30 AM he started the series of 11 tweets. Angry accusations of fake news and all the usual stuff. He's trying to figure out a way to fire the special prosecutor. He's trying to find a way to stop all of the investigations into the Russian influence on the election. The Intelligent services I posted show that they had influence on the election and were very successful. If he pardons his family and staff that is in the mission of a commission of a federal crime. And newspapers it came out today or yesterday said sitting president can be indicted for federal crimes.

Repeal and replace Obamacare dead.
Tax reform nowhere.
Infrastructure nowhere.
ISIS is in full retreat this is a continuation of that strategy initiated by President Obama. This is successful, I am very happy about that but he is not the only one responsible.
The economy is improving about the same level that it was when Obama left office.
It is not the fake news is that's stopping him from being successful he is doing it to himself. Two examples
One: his legal staff told him to stay quiet and don't talk to anybody instead he held very confused if you read it a very confused interview you in the New York Times.
Two: his tweets are unliked by 65% of the people but he continues to do them impulsively.

His staff was surprised to put it mildly, to have the interview with the New York Times.

This is pure speculation. This is a serious question is he mentally competent?

There are Republican's that implied they were questioning his mental capacity.

One last question. Will he even complete his first full term?

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

"Trump - more corrupt than Harding, a bigger threat to the constitution than Nixon, and less competent than Buchanan. And we're only 1/8 of the way through his term."

Exactly. At least I don't think we're gonna end up in the Civil War. But with North Korea or somewhere in the Middle East that's very frightening.

A majority of Americans think he is going to lead us in a major war.

The President stands accused, now with a mounting of evidence, of conspiring with a hostile foreign power to win the Presidency. He has now made clear that he will not permit any investigation of those accusations.

HOW THE DEMOCRATS FELL FOR TRUMP’S TRAP
In politics, it is terrible for a party to be defined by what it stands against rather than what is stands for.

Tim Ryan, the outspoken representative from Ohio, frequently espouses this message as well. To be successful, Democrats need to return to core pocketbook issues: how to create middle class jobs, how to spur economic development, how to help the nation’s 2 million small businesses.

But Ryan’s outcry is otherwise in danger of being lost amid the daily, if not hourly, verbal warfare that dominates cable news and social media, and thus permeates national organizations’ calls to arms. Without a more specific, focused economic message, the Democratic Party will run the risk of becoming a blue-water party, confined to the coasts and largely irrelevant to broad swaths of the country.

Believe it or not, every day the Democrats are pushing "resistance" to Donald Trump and "Russia, Russia, Russia", is a day they are not reinventing themselves to address real issues that concern middle America and that is a win for Trump and the Republicans.

THE WASHINGTON POST SWINGS AND MISSES AT JEFF SESSIONS

It stands to reason that Sessions might discuss Russia-related issues with the Russian ambassador. And Russia-related issues are also campaign-related issues in the sense that Russia was an issue in the campaign.

But what Sessions denied was that he discussed the campaign and any interference by Russia with it. The denial was important because, at the time Sessions made it, the issue Washington fixated on was whether Team Trump sought or knew about Russian help for the candidate, or coordinated with Russia regarding the campaign.

The Post’s piece, by Adam Entous, Ellen Nakashima, and Greg Miller, is dishonest. It finds a contradiction where none exists by glossing over the distinction between discussing a “campaign-related issue” — which is any substantive issue raised by any candidate during the campaign season — and discussing the campaign.

This is following an all too familiar pattern, a sensational expose by anonymous sources, follow by a couple of days of media hyperbole, only to find out there's no there, there. (Thank God for the internet.)

BTW the so call anonymous sources are not so anonymous. I'm pretty sure the "current US Official" is Intelligence committee co-chair Adam Schiff and the "formal US Official" is an Obama administration intelligence appointee.

It’s Thursday, July 20th. As of today, Donald Trump has been president for 6 months. The media coverage of the president is overwhelmingly negative: the press remains contemptuous, and they're pushing to get him out before he completes his first term.

Investors might think differently. The great success of the Trump presidency thus far, is not what he's done, but what he promises to do, namely, get the economy going again. Evidently, investors believe he might yet get it done.

Look at this: since his election win, the Trump rally has added $4.1 trillion to the nation's wealth. Anyone with a 401k, an IRA, college savings, retirement savings, mutual funds. Anyone with a dime in the market has taken a piece of that $4 trillion.

Enemies of mine in the media, enemies of mine are saying it was the greatest speech ever made on foreign soil by a president. I’m saying, man, they cover [garbled]. You saw the reviews I got on that speech. Poland was beautiful and wonderful, and the reception was incredible.

And then, went to France the following week, because it was the 100th year. After that, it was fairly surprising. He [President Emmanuel Macron of France] called me and said, “I’d love to have you there and honor you in France,” having to do with Bastille Day. Plus, it’s the 100th year of the First World War. That’s big. And I said yes. I mean, I have a great relationship with him. He’s a great guy.

HABERMAN: He was very deferential to you. Very.

TRUMP: He’s a great guy. Smart. Strong. Loves holding my hand.

He looked at Macron's wife, and wanted to grab her pussy.

In what world does he live in One dollar a year for health insurance?
Because you are basically saying from the moment the insurance, you’re 21 years old, you start working and you’re paying $12 a year for insurance, and by the time you’re 70, you get a nice plan. The FBI told Sessions not to report meetings and conversations that were within the scope of his Senate duties. That's plausible enough, there is nothing there about his failure to disclose and that line of attack goes nowhere.

However, if it is true that he discussed the campaign and policy of the potential Trump administration, that's another story and he would not have remained within the scope of his Senate duties. It's not just bad optics - it is plausible that Session's meetings were part of a deliberate and coordinated negotiation.

“As a candidate, President Trump billed himself as a new breed of think-big Republican, pitching a $1 trillion campaign pledge to reconstruct the nation’s roadways, waterworks and bridges — along with a promise to revive the lost art of the bipartisan deal,” the New York Times reports.

“But an ambitious public works plan, arguably his best chance of rising above the partisan rancor of his first six months in office, is fast becoming an afterthought — at precisely the moment Mr. Trump needs a big, unifying issue to rewrite the narrative of his chaotic administration.

“Infrastructure remains stuck near the rear of the legislative line, according to two dozen administration officials, legislators and labor leaders involved in coming up with a concrete proposal.”

Thanks, Obama: My Hope, Changey White House Years

Remember when presidents spoke in complete sentences instead of in unhinged tweets? David Litt does. In his comic, coming-of-age memoir, he takes us back to the Obama years – and charts a path forward in the age of Trump

More than any other presidency, Barack Obama’s eight years in the White House were defined by young people – twenty-somethings who didn’t have much experience in politics (or anything else, for that matter), yet suddenly found themselves in the most high-stakes office building on earth. David Litt was one of those twenty-somethings. After graduating from college in 2008, he went straight to the Obama campaign. In 2011, he became one of the youngest White House speechwriters in history. Until leaving the White House in 2016, he wrote on topics from healthcare to climate change to criminal justice reform. As President Obama’s go-to comedy writer, he also took the lead on the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, the so-called “State of the Union of jokes.”

Now, in this refreshingly honest memoir, Litt brings us inside Obamaworld. With a humorists’ eye for detail, he describes what it’s like to accidentally trigger an international incident or nearly set a president’s hair aflame. He answers questions you never knew you had: Which White House men’s room is the classiest? What do you do when the commander in chief gets your name wrong? Where should you never, under any circumstances, change clothes on Air Force One? With nearly a decade of stories to tell, Litt makes clear that politics is completely, hopelessly absurd.

But it’s also important. For all the moments of chaos, frustration, and yes, disillusionment, Litt remains a believer in the words that first drew him to the Obama campaign: “People who love this country can change it.” In telling his own story, Litt sheds fresh light on his former boss’s legacy. And he argues that, despite the current political climate, the politics championed by Barack Obama will outlive the presidency of Donald Trump.

Full of hilarious stories and told in a truly original voice, Thanks, Obama is an exciting debut about what it means – personally, professionally, and politically – to grow up.

David Litt, an aide in the White House for nearly all of Obama's presidency, reveals how he was part of an all-male, all-white and all under-40 team which produced speech after speech for the president.

He also reveals how the team - and other White House aides - drank, smoked, called each other 'bro', and liked - or pretended to like - only college basketball to please the president.

One aide used his White House business card to sleep with a blonde D.C. newscaster and boast about it to his co-workers.

Obama's West Wing frat house. Aide tells how all-white speech team called each other 'bro', drank, exploited their jobs to sleep with women, made d*** jokes - and president deployed the f-bomb

Nothing points to the Russians helping Hillary - the Russian government despises her. She probably took bribes from Ukraine, looted some distaster relief efforts and so on, but that's neither here nor there with regards to Trump.

Trump has been in constant trouble since the year he took over his father's NY real estate empire. Probability nears certainty that a critical examination of his finances would show a tangled web with unsavory characters, including most likely, Putin puppets.

wphamilton said...

If you didn't realize this, you may be in for either a serious shock or a long bout of denial. Trump is one guy who you wouldn't want anywhere near your business, your finances or anyone in your family. If you like that in a President, the OK that's your right but be prepared for the consequences.

True Love

Scaramucci deleted his old tweets praising Hillary, calling her “the real deal.”

On Friday, it was all Trump love.

First, he instructed about the “disconnect between the way we see the president and how much we love the president and the way some of you perhaps see the president.”

Then he just spit it out: “I love the president.”

Then he added: “But I love the president and I’m very, very loyal to the president. And I love the mission that the president has.” And then he added, “I love the president.” Then: “But here’s what I will tell you, O.K.? I love the president.”

Is there a point in our future?

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Our future? Indy pointed out clearly yesterday. If the President tells Sessions to fire the special prosecutor, he will be fired, and we will see a repeat of Nixon, only worse. Because he may pardon not only his family, but himself. The Justice department, according to ruling issued in the White Water impeachment, the President could be indicted and be held in jail, like any other common criminal. He would then again, pardon himself and the congress may even be forced to impeach him.

There are several possibilities of a major constitutional crisis. Trump is so impulsive and narcissistic and yes, mentally ill, that he would would put us into a crisis not seen in the history of the United States. Because he believes that he and he alone knows what to do under any situation.

Although nothing in the Constitution or federal law explicitly says presidents are immune from indictment while they remain in office, the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel has asserted that they are. A newly disclosed legal memo from the office of Kenneth Starr, the independent counsel who investigated President Clinton, challenges that analysis. The National Archives made the memo public in response to a Freedom of Information Act request by The New York Times.

It would be determined if possible by the Supreme Court.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

There is no reason to investigate the Clinton involvement with Russia she did not get elected who gives a shit what you?

If Donald Trump was involved, he should be arrested and impeached. Trump has denied any involvement in thousands of things are well documented as Fake President lies, sometimes twice or three times in the same day.

What has he done other than appoint someone in Supreme Court?

Infrastructure
Remove and replace Obamacare
Tax reform
Support legislation that would guarantee every American coverage for healthcare as he said in the campaign. With the laws they're working on don't do that and you know it's the truth. 25 million Americans lose their health insurance by 2026, thank you Donald J Trump senior idiot.

Because the FBI told him not to.

Sessions Was Advised Not to Disclose Russia Meetings on Security Forms

Attorney General Jeff Sessions failed to disclose meetings with Russian officials when he applied for security clearance because he was told not to do so by advisers and the F.B.I., a Justice Department spokesman said Wednesday.

“As a United States senator, the attorney general met hundreds — if not thousands — of foreign dignitaries and their staff,” Ian Prior, a spokesman for the Justice Department, said in a statement. “The attorney general’s staff consulted with those familiar with the process, as well as the F.B.I. investigator handling the background check, and was instructed not to list meetings with foreign dignitaries and their staff connected with his Senate activities.”

And it's irrelevant as to whether or not she won the election to the charge of collusion.

What is relevant is that she got help from the Russians in return for???????

"Did they alter votes, dispose of votes, illegally vote, prevent democrats from voting?"

uh, nope. even skeets 0linsky himself has said as much.

"Exactly what did they do that altered/changed/prevented/destroyed democrat's votes?"

nothing. but you see, the left is suffering from the biggest case of election loss butthurt the world has ever seen. and refusing to accept the result of an election is not "a threat to our democracy" like felonia von pantsuit would have us believe when a democrat does it. only when the loser is a GOPer is that an issue.

in cases like this it is wise to remember the first two laws of politics:

1. hypocrisy is the bedrock of liberalism

2. if it were not for double standards, liberals would have no standards at all.

also, note the "alky logic" -

""There is no reason to investigate the Clinton involvement with Russia she did not get elected who gives a shit what you?""

so the myriad of laws that she likely broke are of no consequence because she did not win. that's akin to the alky's dismissal of overt voter fraud - because it did not (according to the alky) alter the outcome of an election, voter fraud is not big deal, even if it did in fact occur.
