my son and i were discussing this just last night. i certainly hope not for one reason -
kaepernick has a first amendment right to express himself. those viewing kaepernick's expression have a right to interpret it as they please. some may approve, some may think he's just being an asshole. at the end of the day, no one owes him anything based upon his gesture. if it turns out that every person in a position of power in the nfl decides that "the juice just isn't worth the squeeze" that's where it ends.
the truth is that there are many qb's in the nfl whose talents are on par with kaepernick's who will play this year because they come without the baggage kaepernick does. and that's no one's fault but kaepernick.

You certainly don't encourage fair treatment under the law if we decide that fair treatment doesn't apply to people who's political and social views do not align with our own. Or we simply turn a blind eye if there is violence against a certain group of people, simply because we don't care for the politics of that group. Their right to assemble has been protected by the courts since they have been in existence, and the country seemed to be able to respect the constitution, the bill of rights, and the courts.
