While we are at it...

THE NAME/STATUE GAME HAS BARELY BEGUN!
And, of course, the Democratic Party has to go. The party that tirelessly defended slavery, refused to accept defeat after the Civil War, employed the Ku Klux Klan as its militant arm, and enforced segregation for nearly a century after the war ended, should disband in shame. Many of its leading politicians–former Klansman Robert Byrd, William Fulbright (no more Fulbright scholarships), Richard Russell (we have to rename the Russell Senate Office Building), Sam Ervin, and many more–were proud racists and segregationists. Such a party should no longer be permitted to exist.

You act like there is something criminal in telling the truth?

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

It has been seen in public as,well as in the reports about the profane phone call between the President and Mitch McConnell. Trump asked McConnell why he hasn't stop the investigation into the possible coalition between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. It appears to be obstruction of justice.

Obstructing Justice Under Federal Jurisdiction

Obstruction of justice is defined by federal statute as any "interference with the orderly administration of law and justice" and governed by 18 U.S.C. §§ 1501-1521. Federal code identifies more than 20 specific types of obstruction, including "Obstruction of proceedings before departments, agencies, and committees" (18 U.S.C. § 1505), the specific code section cited in the Nixon and Clinton articles of impeachment.

Other ways an individual may commit this offense include, but are not limited to, the following acts:

Influencing or injuring an officer or juror generally (18 U.S.C. § 1503)
Obstruction of criminal investigations (18 U.S.C. § 1510)
Tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant (18 U.S.C. § 1512)
Retaliating against a witness, victim, or an informant (18 U.S.C. § 1513)
Destruction of corporate audit records (18 U.S.C. § 1520)
The crime can take any number of forms, whether it's bribery, tampering with evidence, lying to investigators, abusing one's power, or some other act intended to impede a criminal investigation. The federal obstruction of justice statute is written broadly and focuses more on the effect (or intended effect) of a particular action rather than the specific act itself. Therefore, seemingly innocuous acts could be construed as criminal activity if they have the intended effect of impeding justice.

Elements of an Obstruction of Justice Charge

The elements required for a conviction on an obstruction of justice charge differ slightly by code section. For instance, prosecutors must prove the following elements for a conviction under section 1503 of the federal statute (influencing or injuring an officer or juror):

There was a pending federal judicial proceeding;
The defendant knew of the proceeding; and
The defendant had corrupt intent to interfere with or attempted to interfere with the proceeding.

But regardless of the specific section of federal law (1501 through 1521) cited in a particular case, the prosecution need not prove any actual obstruction -- the defendant's attempt to obstruct is enough. The element of intent, which is central to such cases, is also usually the most difficult to prove; although memos, phone calls, and recorded conversations may be used as evidence to establish this.

Your description stated that you are not really told how to think by anybody else and really you're a moderate social person, and a fiscal conservative. In regards to this yes I am disappointed. No, I don't hate you. There is no moral equivalence between the two types of people. From my point of view, giving them more equivalent is very hypocritical. And you have never denied it.

Trump's house ####.

The presence of Michael — variously known as Michael Symonette, Maurice Woodside and Mikael Israel — has inspired not only trending Twitter hashtags but a great deal of curiosity and Google searches. Internet sleuths find the man’s bizarre URL, an easily accessible gateway to his strange and checkered past.

The radical fringe activist from Miami once belonged to a violent black supremacist religious cult, and he runs a handful of amateur, unintelligible conspiracy websites. He has called Barack Obama “The Beast” and Hillary Clinton a Ku Klux Klan member. Oprah Winfrey, he says, is the devil.

Most curiously, in the 1990s, he was charged, then acquitted, with conspiracy to commit two murders.

But Michael the Black Man loves President Trump.

It’s unclear whether the White House or Trump’s campaign officials are aware of Michael the Black Man’s turbulent history or extreme political views.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to a Washington Post query about Michael the Black Man by saying, in a Wednesday-morning email: “You would have to contact the campaign.”

"Economic growth has surged to 2.6 percent. Remember, everybody said you will not bring it up to 1 percent."

Economic growth in the second quarter was indeed 2.6 percent, up from 1.2 percent in the first quarter. One can quibble with the word "surged" here, but 2.6 percent isn't at all an unusually high economic growth number. Economic growth is often around or above that level.

But as far as "everybody" saying that Trump wouldn't be able to boost economic growth above 1 percent, that's false. The Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee in its December meeting, for example, projected 2.1 percent economic growth for 2017. Economic advisory firm IHS likewise projected that in 2017, growth would be above 2 percent — 2.3 percent, to be exact.

Trump himself has said he's aiming for even higher growth: 3 percent, to be exact (and that's down from a 4 percent prediction he had made before). Even sustained 3 percent growth is unlikely to happen, according to many economists.

9. Increasing wages

"Wages are rising."

Wages are indeed rising, but not very quickly — in fact, considering the low unemployment rate, economists continue to wonder why they aren't rising faster.

"The mystery continues to be with the labour market this tight, and the level of improvement we continue to see, that wages stubbornly stay at 2% year-over-year wage growth. To me that continues to be the mystery of the jobs report," as Michael Arone, chief investment strategist at State Street Global Advisors, told the BBC after the July jobs report was released.

In the last jobs report, wage growth accelerated slightly, to 2.5 percent annually, as Bloomberg reported. That's a positive development, but wage growth can bounce around from month to month; if the upward movement becomes sustained, that will be a more promising sign. As CNN reported after the last jobs report, many economists would consider wage growth around 3 to 3.5 percent to be a better sign that the job market is healthy.

You search and search for someone Bad doing Bad Things, finding ways to indict writers and artists and ordinary people for something, anything. That movie that got popular? Give me a few hours and 800 words. I’ll get you your indictments. That’s what liberalism is, now — the search for baddies doing bad things, like little offense archaeologists, digging deeper and deeper to find out who’s Good and who’s Bad. I wonder why people run away from establishment progressivism in droves.

my son and i were discussing this just last night. i certainly hope not for one reason -

kaepernick has a first amendment right to express himself. those viewing kaepernick's expression have a right to interpret it as they please. some may approve, some may think he's just being an asshole. at the end of the day, no one owes him anything based upon his gesture. if it turns out that every person in a position of power in the nfl decides that "the juice just isn't worth the squeeze" that's where it ends.

the truth is that there are many qb's in the nfl whose talents are on par with kaepernick's who will play this year because they come without the baggage kaepernick does. and that's no one's fault but kaepernick.

think about it. let's say some team picks him up, plays him, and he stinks up the joint. so then they bench him. and liberals being the insufferable assholes that they are raise holy hell. suddenly it's a race issue, a social justice issue, a bigotry issue, a discrimination issue...

the issue becomes about everything other than the real issue - the guy's just not that good.

what team owner in their right mind is going to voluntarily sign up for that mountain of potential headaches?

C.H. Truth said...

You and he are saying there's a moral equivalence between the protesters and the anti-Nazis and white supremacists.

What the majority/plurality of Americans (including myself) are stating is that there was violence initiated on both sides (in fact there is a growing amount of people who are now putting the brunt of the violence on the anti-fascists).

The problem with what happened in Charlottesville was a matter of people's "actions" not people's "beliefs". beliefs has nothing to do with whether or not people followed the law.

Obviously this country strives to treat people equally under the law, regardless of their race, religion, or political affiliation. We haven't and don't always get there... but we are working to try.

You certainly don't encourage fair treatment under the law if we decide that fair treatment doesn't apply to people who's political and social views do not align with our own. That we just knee jerk hold them accountable for their own actions, as well as the actions of others... simply because we disagree with them.

Or we simply turn a blind eye if there is violence against a certain group of people, simply because we don't care for the politics of that group. While that group was White Supremacists in Charlottesville. With your anti-fascists, they push attacks against college Republicans who want to hear Ann Coulter speak, Trump Supporters at a Trump campaign rally, or a Conservative Christian group who is having a vigil.

There are no "acceptable lines" Roger. In this country, you don't get to use violence to shut down the people you disagree with.

But be clear here Roger. The antifascists are not good people. They are a violent fringe group who uses race and politics to justify their violence. I don't believe that these people can "EVER" be put on some sort of moral pedestal. Not unless our goal in this country is mob rule anarchy. Not unless we want chaos. Which if it every really comes to that, the Starbucks drinking, electric car driving, skinny pants wearing, trigger sensitive liberals don't stand a chance in hell. (and there are not enough Anti-fascists to compete with the sheer number of guns from those who would oppose them)

So no, Roger... I cannot honestly provide a violent hate group with a pass, because their hate and violence was aimed at another hate group. I don't let my "politics" decide who is right... by simply defending the actions of whom I find their politics more in line with mine (which is your argument).

I let my cognitive senses draw the conclusion that both sides were to blame. Because that is tangible. That is real. That is honest. That is obvious.

Leftist facist are the last baston of bigotry.

'Intersectionality' is a code word for anti-Semitism

What do the terrorist group Hamas and the anti-violence group Black Lives Matter have in common? What does the democracy of Israel have in common with the anti-Semitic Ku Klux Klan? What does the Islamic Republic of Iran, which throws gays off rooftops, have in common with gay rights activists? What do feminists have in common with radical Islamic sexists who support the honor killing and genital mutilation of women? Nothing of course. Unless you subscribe to the pseudo-academic concept of intersectionality. Intersectionality — the radical academic theory, which holds that all forms of social oppression are inexorably linked — has become a code word for anti-American, anti-Western, anti-Israel and anti-Semitic bigotry.

Nowhere has adoption of this radical paradigm been more pronounced than on college campuses where, in the name of "identity politics" and "solidarity," intersectionality has forced artificial coalitions between causes that have nothing to do with each other except a hatred for their fellow students who are "privileged" because they are white, heterosexual, male and especially Jewish.

well, we're learning that's not true. one DOES get to use violence to shut down those they disagree with. and according to a dartmouth prof appearing on chuck clodd's meet the press, they deem it justified as self defense.

all of these scumbags, and they ARE scumbags, feel they have carte blanche to do whatever the fuck they please to destroy their political opponents.

-------

The only difference is in one detail.
I despised the violence, "on both sides" :-)

The neo-fascist, KKK and white Superiority group are all contrary to everything our democratic republic stands for. Thousands of Americans have perished to defeat those beliefs.

We differ materially on the counter group's justification. If their motivations was to stop the crazy demonstrators from exercising their first amendment rights, your point would be on point.

But in not so humble opinion, they are patriotic, and want to expose the crazy demonstrators as anti-American group. If their motivation was to protect the statue of General Lee, fine. I am conflicted on that. History matters.

Their motivation was to expose them for what they are. I think that they stand on solid ground. But there is the problem, and we don't really differ. If they don't learn from Doctor Martin Luther King Jr, and follow the non-violent philosophy of Ghandi.
I disagree with you, but your argument is persuasive and valid.

and let's be clear Roger... groups like the KKK have been around since the civil war. They have held too many rallies and marches to count.

Their right to assemble has been protected by the courts since they have been in existence, and the country seemed to be able to respect the constitution, the bill of rights, and the courts.

In fact, it could be argued that in recent years, these groups have been largely ignored, and largely irrelevant.

So the question, Roger...

Why has generation and generation of Americans been able to follow the simple task of following the laws, and still being able to function as a society (knowing that there were people out there with hateful views?).

Were Americans prior to 2017 just more mature? Did they just have more self-control? What is is about 2017 that makes you "justify" turning our backs on the very concept of free assembly and free speech, and rather cheer for the group of anti-fascists who spit on that very notion?

Why is it "cool" for liberals to be anti-free speech in 2017, after fighting for it for sooooo long?

I can tell you why, good old Roger boy!!! It's DTDS!!!

Up is down. Down is up. Constitution doesn't matter. Court decisions don't matter. Political violence is good. All because your brain turned to mush the day Donald Trump was elected President.

The neo-fascist, KKK and white Superiority group are all contrary to everything our democratic republic stands for. Thousands of Americans have perished to defeat those beliefs.

who the fuck do you, or anyone on the left, think you are to arbitrarily deem yourself judge, jury, and executioner when it comes to what amounts to your political opposition???

you might not like what those folks have to say, but you have absolutely no right to decide what is right and what is wrong, or impede their right to say it. disagree with them all you want but your 1st amendment rights do not overrule theirs.

and thousands of americans didn't perish to defeat anything as much as they perished to UPHOLD our freedoms and liberties and way of life that is informed and guided by our bill of rights and constitution.

your problem is that you fucking numbskulls are under the delusion that the election of donald trump is some sort of hysterical, existential, constitutional crisis that allows you to suspend the rules and laws you don't like in pursuit of some sort of anarchistic means to an end.

precisely. the election of trump has turned the left into a rabid pack of deranged, emotional cripples.

if they had developed an actual skill instead of wasting their parents money on a social justice degree, they might be able to participate in trump's improving economy by getting a fucking job.
