The fact that top Trump aides would be interviewed isn't hugely surprising. The probe has gradually grown in scope in recent months, and given its apparent focus on President Trump's decision to fire FBI Director James B. But the subplots with Spicer and Priebus are particularly interesting.
Both are former Republican National Committee types — not longtime Trump aides — who joined the White House when the campaign was over. Both are also now former aides, having lasted just seven months. And perhaps most notably, both were practically tortured during their time in the White House, directly by Trump or apparently with his blessing.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A new surge of optimism among U.S. investors has pushed the Wells Fargo/Gallup Investor and Retirement Optimism Index to its highest level since September 2000. The index, after rising in every quarter since the start of 2016, leveled off in the second quarter at +124 before rising to its current +138 in the third quarter.

You can't understand the physical and emotional issues with the recovery from such major surgery. This is an escape from that. Plus I've been interested in politics and history for my life.
Strong approve/disapprove does tell us something, but I've got two problems with it. The meaningful information, and the methodology.
One, it means whatever the heck the respondent thinks it means at the time of the call. Could be a single issue voter riled up or happy about just one thing the President did. Could be a radical supporter/opponent. Who knows, but what we do know is that it's not an objectively quantifiable aspect that means something similar across all of the respondents. Consequently, it cannot be interpreted the same way as general approval polls which don't isolate so heavily to those subjective extremes.
Two, only Rasmussen conducts that poll and they contract it to Pulse Opinion, who relies exclusively on random land-line automated polling and internet polls. The issues with that are well known and not to go into theory the fact remains that since Obama's term those Pulse polls have performed the worst of all major polls. 5% error or worse in prediction of elections even in their latest pre-vote polls, and with across the board 4% overestimation to the Republican side. That's pretty huge if you apply it to that Trump strongly approve/disapprove poll.
I don't believe that Rasmussen or Pulse deliberately skew their polls to conservatives. but I do believe that they use the cheapest possible polling methods because it allows them to poll more frequently, and that in comparison to Gallup and others that strategy has failed. The inaccuracy bias is fundamentally built in.

Well WP, your problem with the methodology doesn't really explain or account for the fact that democrats only hold 15 govenorships, they lost 1100 elective seats in just 4 elections, haven't won one a special election yet and the majority of the House seats come from just 3 states...

My problem with Pulse Opinion methodology doesn't matter that it doesn't explain recent Democratic losses, because it has nothing to do with them.
As I mentioned, the fact that those surveys wound up being the least accurate is probably due to the problematic methodology. You have to be objective in statistics and mathematics, not distracted by which team won the most positions.

Strong approve/disapprove does tell us something, but I've got two problems with it. The meaningful information, and the methodology.
One, it means whatever the heck the respondent thinks it means at the time of the call. Could be a single issue voter riled up or happy about just one thing the President did. Could be a radical supporter/opponent. Who knows, but what we do know is that it's not an objectively quantifiable aspect that means something similar across all of the respondents. Consequently, it cannot be interpreted the same way as general approval polls which don't isolate so heavily to those subjective extremes.
Two, only Rasmussen conducts that poll and they contract it to Pulse Opinion, who relies exclusively on random land-line automated polling and internet polls. The issues with that are well known and not to go into theory the fact remains that since Obama's term those Pulse polls have performed the worst of all major polls. 5% error or worse in prediction of elections even in their latest pre-vote polls, and with across the board 4% overestimation to the Republican side. That's pretty huge if you apply it to that Trump strongly approve/disapprove poll.
I don't believe that Rasmussen or Pulse deliberately skew their polls to conservatives. but I do believe that they use the cheapest possible polling methods because it allows them to poll more frequently, and that in comparison to Gallup and others that strategy has failed. The inaccuracy bias is fundamentally built in.

Well WP, your problem with the methodology doesn't really explain or account for the fact that democrats only hold 15 govenorships, they lost 1100 elective seats in just 4 elections, haven't won one a special election yet and the majority of the House seats come from just 3 states...
Ignore the strongly disapprove folks based on methodology, it's fine with me.
My problem with Pulse Opinion methodology doesn't matter that it doesn't explain recent Democratic losses, because it has nothing to do with them.
As I mentioned, the fact that those surveys wound up being the least accurate is probably due to the problematic methodology. You have to be objective in statistics and mathematics, not distracted by which team won the most positions.
