Rumor has it?

So... we are hearing that the FBI and other US agencies have learned the names of some of the Russians associated with the so called Fancy Bear and Cozy Bear teams, which are code names for the Russian intelligence groups known to be involved in international Russian hacking. This information supposedly comes from "Dutch intelligence".

The specific rumors are that most of the names involved are of the supervisory nature, rather than any of the specific people who may have actually done any real hacking. That may be a distinction without a legal difference.

Of course, the intelligence and evidence that ties these groups specifically to the 2016 email server hacking is sketchy at best (similar IP addresses, similar hacking software). That being said, the thing that Mueller has going for him is that he would never actually have to prove anything in court, because nobody from Russia is going to be extradited here to face prosecution.

So it's reasonable to believe that Mueller may offer us another set of indictments similar to the one he just released against the 13 members of the trolling farm. A hand full of names, some accusations of criminal activities, an explanation as to what they felt the hackers were attempting to accomplish, all with the fairly well known understanding that nothing will ever come of it.

Now the issue at hand is that the Dutch intelligence is more generic about the organization than specific to the alleged crimes. Whether or not American intelligence has learned more specifics is the going to be the driving force behind how detailed these allegations may become. Similar to the recent indictments of members of the trolling farms, those expecting similar indictments against members of Fancy and Cozy bear are not offering that there is any evidence of American involvement. At least not at this point.

My personal opinion is that Mueller will probably hold off these indictments till he is pretty close to the end of his probe. I certainly would expect that to be the case if any sort of indictment comes down against Russian hackers that does not include any American co-conspirators. Another indictment that does not implicate the Trump campaign is a loser for the left. While they may be able to spin it as one of those "we were right, it was the Russians" deals... that would be a very shallow "kissing your sister" type of victory.

The bigger debate in all of this was always about collusion. If no collusion is alleged, then Trump will claim victory. It will be hard to argue that one away.

Pat Buchanan is asking why, given the mueller scope expansion, why mueller is not investigating hillary and other bad characters that are nonrepublicans.

Good question.

New charges were filed Thursday against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his business partner, ratcheting up the legal pressure on them as they prepare for a trial later this year.

A new indictment has long been expected in special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s prosecution of Manafort and his right-hand man, Rick Gates, on fraud and money laundering charges. Manafort served as President Trump’s campaign chairman from June to August 2016. Gates also served as a top official on Trump’s campaign. The new indictment contains 32 counts, including tax charges.

The filing Thursday comes at a time of significant uncertainty in the case about when a trial might happen, or even who the defense lawyers will be. Last week, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson criticized both sides for what she called “unacceptable delays” in a case which still doesn’t have a trial date set.

Manafort and Gates were hit with a 12-count indictment in October — the first criminal charges in Mueller’s probe of Russian interference with the 2016 election. That indictment focused not on events in the 2016 race but financial transactions involving work by Manafort and Gates for a Ukrainian political party, and their failure to notify U.S. authorities that they were allegedly acting as lobbyists for a foreign government.

A federal grand jury in Virginia has filed a 32-count indictment against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his former aide, Rick Gates.

In all, the pair faces 32 counts: 16 counts related to false individual income tax returns, seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts, five counts of bank fraud conspiracy, and four counts of bank fraud.

These new charges are in addition to charges already filed against Manafort and Gates in federal court in Washington.

With tax season under way, American voters say 67 - 24 percent that President Donald Trump should publicly release his tax returns, according to a Quinnipiac University National Poll released today. Every listed party, gender, education, age and racial group, except Republicans, says Trump should release his tax returns.

President Trump has not released his tax returns because he has something to hide, 52 percent of voters tell the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University Poll. Another 19 percent say it's because he is being audited by the IRS and 14 percent don't believe either reason.

American voters give Trump a negative 37 - 58 percent approval rating, compared to a 40 - 55 percent rating February 7, in the wake of his State of the Union address. Republicans and white men are the only groups who approve. White voters with no college degree are divided at 47 percent approve and 45 percent disapprove.

Trump has not been loyal to his spouse throughout his marriage, American voters say 56 - 18 percent, with 26 percent undecided. Republicans are the only group to say Trump has been loyal.

Rumor has it.....the climate is heating up!!!!!

Astonishing summer-like heat cooked the Eastern U.S. on Wednesday, smashing all-time records for February warmth in cities in at least ten states, from Georgia to Maine. At least 24 cities recorded their hottest February temperature on record on Wednesday, including New York City (78°), Hartford, CT (74°) and Concord, NH (74°). According to Weather Underground weather historian Christopher C. Burt, February 20 - 21 marked the most extraordinary heat event to ever affect the Northeastern quadrant of the U.S. during the month of February, since official records began in the late 1800s. He catalogued the following eight states that tied or beat all-time February state heat records over the past two days, noting that in the case of Maine and Vermont, “It is simply amazing to beat a state temperature record by some 8°F!”:

Pennsylvania: 83° at Capitol City (ties old record for the state)
New York: 79° at La Guardia Airport (old state record 78°)
Vermont: 77° at Bennington (old state record 68°)
New Hampshire: 77° at Manchester (old state record 72°)
Maine: 77° at Wells (old state record 69°)
New Jersey: 83° at Teterboro (old state record 80°)
Massachusetts: 80° at Fitchburg (old state record 73°)
Ohio: 80° at Cincinnati Lunken Airport (ties old record for the state)

The donnie has the empathy of a menstral wet fart....

A Parkland school shooting survivor delivered a harsh critique of her phone call with President Donald Trump, who reached out to her while she was recovering from her wounds in the hospital. Samantha Fuentes indicated to The New York Times that Trump seemed insincere, and said "he didn't make me feel better in the slightest." Trump has struggled with showing empathy toward victims of national tragedies since he took office, but the president has insisted otherwise. A student who survived the February 14th mass shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, had some terse words for President Donald Trump, who she said called her on the phone while she was recovering in the hospital.
