Trump and Putin

I've read several opinions about the Trump Putin summit, and Trump's insistence that our intelligence has been faulty throughout. These opinions range from limited support to calls of treason.

I find myself if the opinion tha this was classic example of Trump using an international forum to air his own grievances. Inappropriate? Yep. Petty? Yep. Selfish? Yep? Treasonous? Nope.

Trump is questioning our intelligence. Based on how certain members of the community have treated him personally (which has been as inappropriate as anything Trump has done), these questions have significant merit. But it is possible that they got interference correct, and collusion wrong.

As a person Trump has every right to attack those who have attacked him. As President there are times when you must rise above your personal grievances and act like a world leader. Trump needed to do that and he didn't.

y last year that obama strongly denied that russia could have affected the election.

And quickly changed his position, unlike donnie who is still in denial....asshole..

President Barack Obama said it was nearly impossible to rig an election during a joint press conference with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi only around a couple months ago.

He is now punishing Russia for allegedly doing what he previously said was unfeasible.

“I’ve never seen in my lifetime or in modern political history any presidential candidate trying to discredit the elections and the election process before votes have even taken place,” Obama said, in response to comments then-Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made. “No serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even rig America’s elections.”

President-elect Donald Trump said during a campaign rally in Columbus, Ohio, in August that he was afraid the election was going to be rigged, citing, amongst other things, the fact that the Democratic National Committee colluded to make former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton the nominee instead of Senator Bernie Sanders.

Obama’s comments came only around two weeks after he officially blamed Russia for leaking sensitive emails. Obama expelled 35 Russian officials Thursday as part of larger set of sanctions on the country.

CNN
CNN) The email that would help Democrats lose the 2016 presidential election arrived on March 19, 2016, signed -- seemingly harmlessly -- "Best, the Gmail team."

The email was sent to John Podesta, the then-chairman of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. But it wasn't a benign message; it was actually a spear-phishing email authored by hackers with ties to Russia.

"There was a Google alert that there was some compromise in the system," Podesta told CNN of the email, which prompted Podesta to change his password "immediately" by clicking on a link.

"It actually got managed by my assistant, who checked with our cybersecurity guy," Podesta said. "And through a comedy of errors, I guess, he instructed her to go ahead and click on it and she did."

The fatal error? Podesta's IT person wrote back to his assistant calling the email "legitimate" when in fact he meant to say it was "illegitimate."

One typo, one click -- and Russian hackers had gained free reign into the email of the man running Clinton's 2016 campaign.

"The rest," Podesta said, "is history."

That fake Gmail alert was one of a series of cyber intrusions that US intelligence would later determine formed a coordinated and unprecedented Russian "influence operation" to interfere with the US election. Through a series of interviews with government officials and cybersecurity experts, CNN details exactly how that operation happened.

The first warning sign

The first quiet warning of the Russian operation came in September 2015, when an agent from the FBI's Washington Field Office notified the Democratic National Committee that Russian hackers had compromised at least one DNC computer. It was the FBI's first direct contact with the DNC: a message left for a low-level computer technician, who did not return the FBI's call."

Exactly as I predicted. The Deep State conspiracy excuses the President from surrounding to Russia.

Even Fax News has been sucked into the Deep State conspiracy.

Brian Kilmeade, one of the hosts of Trump’s favorite morning show, Fox & Friends, addressed the president directly Tuesday morning, telling him he got it wrong when he backed Putin’s denial of Russian interference in the 2016 election over the evidence-based conclusions of his own intelligence services.

The directors of all three of the intelligence agencies, whom were appointed by the President said that the Russians did attack the election system in 2016.

And don't go down the Obama didn't fight it excuse. The Russians hacked into the DNC and through a very sophisticated disclosure of information that was detrimental to the Clinton campaign.

The President has surrendered to our adversary Vladimir Putin. "To protect and defend the Constitution and for which it stands against all enemies foreign and domestic, so help me God."

Well my response to the president is that there was no way we could go to Staples or Best Buy or Office Depot or Office Max to buy anti-GRU military intelligence software to protect and defend ourselves when the country was under attack, the DNC was under attack, the DCCC and (ph) the Clinton campaign.

Trump Declares Putin Meeting a Success

President Trump portrayed his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin as a great success, saying that it had gone “even better” than a meeting with NATO allies the week before, the Washington Post reports.

Said Trump: “Sadly, it is not being reported that way — the Fake News is going crazy!”

CNN: “Immediately after his news conference, Trump’s mood was buoyant, people familiar with the matter said. He walked off stage in Helsinki with little inkling his remarks would cause the firestorm they did, and was instead enthusiastic about what he felt was a successful summit.

“By the time he’d returned to the White House just before 10 p.m. ET on Monday, however, his mood had soured. Predictably, the President was upset when he saw negative coverage of the summit airing on television aboard Air Force One. It was clear he was getting little support, even from the usual places.”

"From the moment President Trump's press conference ended, CNN's coverage was atrocious and histrionic," Anton said in an email. "I did cancel, because I knew that whatever I said, CNN would try to use me as a cudgel with which to bash the President. I support President Trump and I never want to be misused as an instrument to undermine him or his administration."

"As soon as CNN was informed of my withdrawal, they threatened to cite that withdrawal on air to bash the President," he continued. "And that's exactly what they did. It's clear I made the right decision."

Look at NATO. The entire foreign policy establishment is scandalized that Trump says he expects the Europeans to cover their fair share of the NATO nut. Now a normal American is going to think “Yeah, I think they ought to pay their share of their own defense. Sounds reasonable.” But the establishment collectively wets itself – “HE’S DESTROYING THIS ESSENTIAL ALLIANCE BY ASKING THE PEOPLE BENEFITING FROM IT MOST TO ACTUALLY PARTICIPATE IN IT!”

And the Normals (many of whom, like me, actually served in NATO) wonder, “Well, if it’s so essential, why aren’t the allies eager to pay for it?” And the establishment responds, “SHUT UP, RUSSIAN STOOGE! ASKING THE ALLIES TO MAKE NATO MORE EFFECTIVE BY PAYING WHAT THEY PROMISED, WHICH IS STILL A FRACTION OF WHAT THE U.S. PAYS, IS PLAYING RIGHT INTO PUTIN’S HANDS. ALSO, THE EMOLUMENTS CLAUSE SOMEHOW.”

Okay, as an expert on arguments, I must observe that this is a losing argument. Now, I’m not relying on my expertise gained from a quarter century of convincing juries to go my way to say that. I don’t need to. I’m relying on the fact I have actually met normal Americans. This is such a facially idiotic argument that only someone in the establishment could talk himself into believing it.

Here’s a test. Leave DC or New York, drive a few hours out to America, find a random guy on the street and ask, “Hey, don’t you think it’s awful that Trump wants our allies to increase their contributions to their own defense to just about half of what the U.S. pays?” You can safely assume he’ll respond, “Wait, why only half?”

Still waiting for the outrage on Mexico's (and everyone else's) election meddling

Mexico has done amazing amounts of meddling in our elections, particularly the last one. It was the only nation that openly advertised to its nationals to come over to its diplomatic consulates (not places U.S. nationals are allowed to go to) and register to vote in U.S. elections, something that in California undoubtedly led to a lot of Mexican nationals voting and the resulting cancelation of Americans' votes, meaning the disenfranchisement of American voters. That's a foreign policy objective for them.

California, understand, does not check if voters are illegal and on its voter signature form and has slyly changed its "I certify I am a U.S. citizen" to "I certify I am a U.S. resident" to avoid prosecuting illegals for voting. Mexico knows this well. With Mexico registering the voters of what is not its own country, but a foreign country, you can bet a lot of illegal voting has come courtesy of the Mexican government.

The Mexicans also had a government-linked entity run ads in their own country urging their nationals to encourage their American relatives (not distinguishing citizen from non-citizen) to vote here in the U.S. – for Democrats, of course.

That’s a heckuva a lot of meddling and a lot more than the computer hacks, the piddly Facebook ads, and the uncertainty sown by RT News, which is about the extent of this.

The big, big players in fact were, surprise, the U.K. and Australia, America’s purported closest allies.

Here I wrote about the mess Australia made on the U.S. election trail:

Now a new investigative report suggests a reason why: turns out Australia had been meddling in our election, in a failed bid to ensure Hillary Clinton's victory. The Hill reports that Downer had earlier dispensed some $25 million in contributions to the Clinton Foundation back in 2006, leaving Australia in a position to ask for some fancy favors from the Democrats. It's far from the only instance. Clarice Feldman notes in an email: "The only documented meddling in the election was by Australians." She sent links to stories showing that illegal campaign donations went to Bernie Sanders from Australian sources, which resulted in a fine for Sanders, and the Australian Labor Party sent operatives to work against President Trump. Meddling, indeed.

It's the Australian ruling party, the Liberal Party, that meddled most. Turns out Alexander Downer, the supposedly untainted, dispassionate outside source that fingered one of President Trump's young advisers in London who had had contacts with Russian sources as a likely national security concern, was anything but dispassionate. He was in bed with the Clintons all along, shoveling the $25 million in Australian government cash into the Clinton Foundation coffers back in 2006. Not surprisingly, he's a member of the same Liberal Party as Turnbull, and with the London embassy post an important one for Australia, you can bet they were tight.

"For over a year and half, the President has repeatedly said he believes the intelligence agencies when they said Russia interfered in American elections," and "President Trump isn't going to let an excessive focus on the past get in the way of building a brighter future between the world's two largest nuclear powers."

Other talking points note the importance of keeping a dialogue between the two nations.
"Even at the height of the Cold War, dialogue between the US and Russia was maintained," one point stated.

"President Trump approaches talks with Russia grounded in realism, but our desire for friendship, cooperation, and peace remain," read another.

After his summit with Putin, Trump told reporters at a joint news conference that the Russian leader was "extremely strong" in his denial of election interference.

"I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today," Trump said.

The US intelligence community has concluded that Russia interfered in the last US presidential election.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating any potential collusion between Trump campaign associates and the Kremlin. Trump has repeatedly denied any collusion.

Putin stated his public denial on Monday, but he also admitted for the first time that he did want Trump to win the election.

According to 18 U.S. Code § 2381: “Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.”

There are lawyers who are arguing that the Russian intervention is "Cyber War" applies to this law.

Lauraene Tribe Harvard Law said "If one defines war to include cyberwar—e.g., by deliberately hacking into a nation’s computer-based election infrastructure—then what we witnessed in Helsinki was President Trump openly aiding and abetting the Russian military’s ongoing war against America rather than protecting against that Putin-led cyber-invasion.

"That, in turn, could reasonably be defined as treason within the meaning of 18 USC § 2381 and Article III of the U.S. Constitution.

Article III of the U.S. Constitution, it says: “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.”

Jens David Ohlin, vice dean and professor of constitutional law at Cornell Law School, told Business Insider, "Trump is clearly helping Russia—whether it rises to the level of 'aid and comfort' would be for a jury to decide or for the House of Representatives to decide if it pursues articles of impeachment."

Since when was the Republican party anti deficit? Oh since Trump won.

Government set to borrow nearly $1 trillion this year, an 84 percent jump from last year

The U.S. Treasury expects to borrow $955 billion this fiscal year, according to a documents released Wednesday. It's the highest amount of borrowing in six years, and a big jump from the $519 billion the federal government borrowed last year.

Treasury mainly attributed the increase to the "fiscal outlook." The Congressional Budget Office was more blunt. In a report this week, the CBO said tax receipts are going to be lower because of the new tax law.

The uptick in borrowing is yet another complication in the heated debates in Congress over whether to spend more money on infrastructure, the military, disaster relief and other domestic programs. The deficit is already up significantly, even before Congress allots more money to any of these areas.

awww alky, you left out the link AND the guy offering the counter-argument to the TDS infected tribe et. al.:

But Ross Garber, a lawyer and adjunct professor at Tulane Law School, who has represented state governors in impeachment trials, does not believe the Constitution can be stretched or interpreted to regard Russia as an enemy against which the U.S. is at war.

"No matter how repugnant one might consider the president’s statements in Helsinki, they do not meet the constitutional definition of 'treason,' which is very narrow and addresses providing aid to an 'enemy,'" Garber told Newsweek. "Russia is not technically an enemy because we are not at war with it. These matters are far too important to allow partisan aims to diminish serious constitutional analysis."

But buried in the report was the CBO's tacit admission that it vastly overestimated the cost of the Trump tax cuts, because it didn't account for the strong economic growth they would generate.

https://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/trump-tax-cuts-revenues-deficits-paying-for-themselves/

Record tax receipts will lead to the largest-ever monthly budget surplus for the federal government, congressional analysts said in a new report, as Americans hand over more money to Washington.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates the April surplus will total $218 billion, breaking the prior record of nearly $190 billion notched in April 2001.

Greater-than-expected tax receipts drove the surplus, CBO said, noting the record $515 billion in receipts for the month was as much as $40 billion more than the agency estimated about a month ago.

Trump Now Accepts Intelligence on Russian Meddling

After the uproar he created yesterday, President Trump said he has full confidence in the U.S. intelligence agencies and accepted the finding that Russia meddled in the election but still said there was no collusion, CBS News reports.

Said Trump: “In a key sentence in my remarks, I said the word would instead of wouldn’t. The sentence should have been: ‘I don’t see any reason why it WOULDN’T be Russia.’ Sort of a double negative. So you can put that in, and I think that probably clarifies things.”

But he added: “I accept our intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election took place. Could be other people also. A lot of people out there.”

'Treason’ Enters the Political Lexicon

New York Times: “While the T-word has been thrown around on the fringes of the political debate about other presidents or politicians from time to time, never in the modern era has it become part of the national conversation in such a prominent way. Never in anyone’s lifetime has a president engendered such a wave of discussion about whether his real loyalty was to a foreign power over his own country.

“To the president’s defenders, this all sounds like a sign of what they often call Trump Derangement Syndrome. That he drives his critics to such extremes, they argue, says more about them than it does about Mr. Trump. But the president has had fewer such defenders in the last 24 hours, with prominent Republicans and even some of Mr. Trump’s traditional allies lambasting his performance and distancing themselves from him.”

Flashback Quote of the Day

“There’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump… swear to God.”
— House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), quoted by the Washington Post in a private recording, speaking to a group of GOP lawmakers a month before Donald Trump clinched the GOP presidential nomination.

Speaker Paul Ryan quickly interjected: “This is an off-the-record… no leaks, alright? This is how we know we’re a real family here.”

O’Rourke Says He Would Vote to Impeach Trump

Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX), who is challenging Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), told the Dallas Morning News that President Trump’s performance at a summit with Russian strongman Vladimir Putin merits impeachment.

Said O’Rourke:
“Standing on stage in another country with the leader of another country who wants to and has sought to undermine this country, and to side with him over the United States – if I were asked to vote on this I would vote to impeach the president. Impeachment, much like an indictment, shows that there is enough there for the case to proceed and at this point there is certainly enough there for the case to proceed.”

4 blue states sue Washington over GOP tax overhaul

By DAVID KLEPPER, Associated Press | Updated: Tue 2:04 PM, Jul 17, 2018

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Maryland sued the federal government over the Republican-led tax overhaul Tuesday, alleging the new law championed by President Donald Trump unfairly singles out high-tax blue states.

The lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of New York, was dismissed as a long-shot political stunt by supporters of the new tax code, but New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said it is a practical act of self-defense against an adversarial federal government. The challenge alleges that lawmakers crafted the new tax code to target left-leaning states and interferes with their constitutionally granted taxing authority.

"This is their political attempt to hurt Democratic states," said Cuomo, a Democrat who is considered a possible White House contender in 2020. "It's totally repugnant."

Constitution, Article III, Section 3: “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.” Trump’s own national security adviser said the Russian election attack constituted an “act of war.” So what does that make his boss? Some — including former CIA director John Brennan — now dare call it treason. That conclusion was once unthinkable. No longer.

caliphate4vr said...

Roger, an “Act of War”

Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power to declare war. The President, meanwhile, derives the power to direct the military after a Congressional declaration of war from Article II, Section 2, which names the President Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. These provisions require cooperation between the President and Congress regarding military affairs, with Congress funding or declaring the operation and the President directing it. Nevertheless, throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, Presidents have often engaged in military operations without express Congressional consent. These operations include the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, the Afghanistan War of 2001 and the Iraq War of 2002

A Sad Pathetic Little Boy

Americans elected a president who — this is a safe surmise — knew that he had more to fear from making his tax returns public than from keeping them secret. The most innocent inference is that for decades he has depended on an American weakness, susceptibility to the tacky charisma of wealth, which would evaporate when his tax returns revealed that he has always lied about his wealth, too. A more ominous explanation might be that his redundantly demonstrated incompetence as a businessman tumbled him into unsavory financial dependencies on Russians. A still more sinister explanation might be that the Russians have something else, something worse, to keep him compliant.

The explanation is in doubt; what needs to be explained — his compliance — is not. Granted, Trump has a weak man’s banal fascination with strong men whose disdain for him is evidently unimaginable to him. And, yes, he only perfunctorily pretends to have priorities beyond personal aggrandizement. But just as astronomers inferred, from anomalies in the orbits of the planet Uranus, the existence of Neptune before actually seeing it, Mueller might infer, and then find, still-hidden sources of the behavior of this sad, embarrassing wreck of a man.

Trump blames the “haters” for outcry over Helsinki press conference
President Trump doubled down Wednesday on his comments at his press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying "many people at the higher ends of intelligence" loved it.

"So many people at the higher ends of intelligence loved my press conference performance in Helsinki. Putin and I discussed many important subjects at our earlier meeting. We got along well which truly bothered many haters who wanted to see a boxing match. Big results will come!"
Why it matters: This comes less than 24 hours after Trump claimed he misspoke in his comments, using "would" instead of "wouldn't."

A case study in Trump's GOP mind control

Illustration: Sarah Grillo/Axios
Yes, almost every elected Republican we talk to privately thinks President Trump’s warm embrace of Vladimir Putin was unexplainable, unacceptable and un-American. Yes, they wish they could say this publicly. No, they won’t — not now, and probably never.

The cold, hard reason: They see no upside in speaking out — and fear political suicide if they do, numerous Republican officials tell us.

Why it matters: This is the mind-control power Trump has, thanks to 90 percent of Republicans approving of his tactics and performance.
These 90 percent empower and are empowered by Fox News and a pro-Trump social media ecosystem that always comes to the president’s defense, even if they flinch for a moment or two.
We just witnessed this power on full display:

You had a rare moment where virtually every Republican was aghast at Trump’s words.
But almost every Republican — except those leaving the stage — softened their direct criticism of Trump and ran from TV or reporters like the plague.
GOP lawmakers' immediate complaints about the press conference were quickly tempered. Trump’s cleanup and turnaround yesterday ("I said the word 'would' instead of 'wouldn't'") had one audience: Capitol Hill.

Senior staff saw a real risk of backlash — worse than after Charlottesville — if the brewing rebellion wasn’t nipped in the bud quickly, per sources close to White House.
Be smart: Most Republican members of Congress don't need to do anything so radical as actually believe Trump is sincere about correcting himself.

They need a fig leaf so they can justify quickly returning to support their president, who is vastly more popular with Republican voters than any of them are.
P.S. Two tweets illuminate this phenomenon:

Mike Murphy, GOP strategist: "I’m furious R’s are cowardly about Trump. But here is what they say in private: 1.) Trump is a disgrace. 2.) I give fiery press conf tmmrw saying that. 3.) Nothing changes, Trump remains nuts and remains POTUS. 4.) A nut beats me in next primary. So how does my pol suicide help?"
Dave Wasserman of Cook Political Report: "Most Republican members are willing to admit POTUS doesn't operate in reality, but know they're doomed in their next primary if they say so publicly. As long as that's true, we're headed for a world w/ zero accountability."
The last word: Trump chimed in with a tweet at 5:53 Wednesday morning:

"So many people at the higher ends of intelligence loved my press conference performance in Helsinki. Putin and I discussed many important subjects at our earlier meeting. We got along well which truly bothered many haters who wanted to see a boxing match. Big results will come!"
Go deeper: Axios' Alexi McCammond found most GOP Senate candidates are sticking with Trump.

The Liar in Chief

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Russia is no longer targeting the United States with cyber attacks, a conclusion that is at odds with the one repeatedly asserted by Trump's own intelligence services.

During a meeting of his Cabinet on Wednesday, Trump was asked by a pool reporter whether Russia is still "targeting" the United States.

"No," said the president.

Dan Coats, Trump's director of national intelligence, had a very different assessment as recently as Monday, however, saying in a statement, "We have been clear in our assessments of Russian meddling in the 2016 election and their ongoing, pervasive efforts to undermine our democracy."

And on Friday, Coats compared Russia's current cyber efforts to warning signs that emerged before the 9/11 attacks. "The warning lights are blinking red again," Coats said at a Washington, D.C. think tank. "Today, the digital infrastructure that serves this country is literally under attack."

Trump's latest round of problematic comments also came one day after the president touted his administration's aggressive efforts to prevent future Russian meddling.

"My administration has and will continue to move aggressively to repeal any efforts -- and repel -- we will stop it, we will repel it -- any efforts to interfere in our elections," Trump said at a meeting with members of Congress on Tuesday. "We're doing everything in our power to prevent Russian interference in 2018."

If Trump doesn't believe Russia is currently targeting the United States at all, then the reasonable response to what his administration is doing about it would appear to be, nothing.

The transfers include more than a dozen career civil servants who have been moved from the leadership suite at VA headquarters and reassigned, to lower-visibility roles. The employees served agency leaders, some dating back more than two decades, in crucial support roles that help a new secretary.

None say they were given reasons for their reassignments.

The moves are being carried out by a small cadre of political appointees led by Acting Secretary Peter O’Rourke who have consolidated power in the four months since they helped oust former Secretary David Shulkin.

Prop. 9 California collected enough legal verified signatures to be put on the Nov. 2018 ballot. It would divide CA into three pieces.

Ok, so it a legal go, Right, Wrong.

Donald Trump was informed by the intelligence services on January 6th 2017 that the Russians had been meddling in the election under the order of Vladimir Putin.

WASHINGTON — Two weeks before his inauguration, Donald J. Trump was shown highly classified intelligence indicating that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had personally ordered complex cyberattacks to sway the 2016 American election.

He knew when he said that Putin was very convincing that they had assaulted the United States. Collusion is evident

The same intelligence obama based his strong denial on. Got it.

This President has been denying that the Russians were involved in hacking into the election. Obama administration may not have acted sufficiently. But Obama didn't stand next to Vladimir Putin and accept the word of the President of Russia denying the intervention into the election. Despite that he was informed about the Russians attack on the election he said No yesterday afternoon. Trump did.

WASHINGTON — Two weeks before his inauguration, Donald J. Trump was shown highly classified intelligence indicating that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had personally ordered complex cyberattacks to sway the 2016 American election.

The evidence included texts and emails from Russian military officers and information gleaned from a top-secret source close to Mr. Putin, who had described to the C.I.A. how the Kremlin decided to execute its campaign of hacking and disinformation.

Mr. Trump sounded grudgingly convinced, according to several people who attended the intelligence briefing. But ever since, Mr. Trump has tried to cloud the very clear findings that he received on Jan. 6, 2017, which his own intelligence leaders have unanimously endorsed.

There is no excuse for his behavior .

We don't know what the President agreed to in his private meetings with Vladimir Putin.

Two days after President Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian officials offered a string of assertions about what the two leaders had achieved.

“Important verbal agreements” were reached at the Helsinki meeting, Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, told reporters in Moscow Wednesday, including preservation of the New Start and INF agreements, major bilateral arms control treaties whose futures have been in question. Antonov also said that Putin had made “specific and interesting proposals to Washington” on how the two countries could cooperate on Syria."

We have the right to know what the agreed to.

He is "considering" letting the Russians investigate the Fake News about the Russian intervention into our election. The Russians would love to have the former ambassador to Russia delivered to the Russian government for "interrogation". The fact that he is even considering sending the former ambassador to the Russians is ridiculous.
